It's a good response, thanks. I will leave it at that.
Edit: OK, I will say that I'm convinced these guys are serious.

I'm a bit busy with my day job right now but I'll write you a good reply later today. Thanks for the time you took clearing up what exactly you're asking Thanks. We all have day jobs unfortunately! I'm off to sleep now and when I wake it will be time to go to my day job! Monday morning.... Errrgghh..

Everyone knows our colours are Green & Gold....Lame
Yep. Instead they've taken the colors from our flag and assumed they're "the Australian colors"... no Aussie thinks blue, red, white are Australian. It almost looks like a USA coin or something. Even if they did a google search for Aussie colors they would see it's Green and Gold!! such lies Me lying, or them? I assume you mean them. I'm just saying it how it is. I dont mine or invest in this coin. I'm commenting here because I'm an Aussie and it feels bad to see our name used like this for something so lame. The creators clearly have NO IDEA about Australia. Spend 5 minutes on Google and you'll see that! Australian Colors: Green and Gold.

I look at other coins, look at what HiroS and Joerii do for this coin and have one conclusion: hold.
I can see the shadow of two guys working hard on a coin, but I can't actually see anything tangible yet. Perhaps I just need to stick around longer. Or perhaps they need to market it better? And I can see your mining it, same as me, on the same server. That's something tangible at least.

Ok, please be a bit more clear then. What are your two questions ?
Apologies, I tend to ramble on a bit... 1) Apart from a possible security improvement you mentioned, what else are the team doing to improve the coin? Eg. Why is it not on Cryptsy? I'm not seeing very much public activity at all. Someone actually posted "so is this coin dead?" today! 2) Why should we have faith that this recent downturn won't continue, like it has for 95% of all other altcoins? I'm aware of the strategy (to wait for ASICs to come) but... well I'm just not sure if that's a genuine plan. Any other coin could come along with X11 in the meantime, add something which differentiates it, add a good marketing strategy, and wham! No more Hiro. In general I'm just saying that more needs to be done for me, personally, to keep believing in this coin. I'm sure its the same for many.

^^^ I appreciate you taking the time to respond, but that's just more of the same. Worse, nobody has commented on both our actual questions.
Someone has been dumping heaps and heaps of Hiro at low low prices (~1300 sat) over the past few days. No miner would do that, it's a big loss. Who could possibly afford to do that? Considering what we know about the instamine, this makes me nervous that someone's been cashing in.
95% of coins have gone down like Hiro has recently... and never returned. This makes me very nervous.
I want to believe but I'm losing reason to. I can see very little marketing of this coin, very little work being done compared to other coins, just the occasional post advising it's being made "more secure". Security won't be a problem if its worth nothing, which is what will happen if this coin doesn't get marketed properly.

How else could the coins be sold for so cheap and at such high volume day after day for so many days? The numbers just don't make sense. I mine Hiro, and there is no way I could sell at the prices these coins are selling now without losing my shirt. So what am I missing here? Was your plan to have miners/purchasers like me sitting on the sidelines, jaws hitting the floor, feeling totally fooled all along?
I agree. I would'nt mind at least a comment from the Dev/Team on this. Things aren't looking fantastic. It was at 3500 sat when I began mining a few weeks ago, now only 1430. Why should we expect it to pick up? Because when ASICs hit at some unknown point in the future people will flock? By then there will be plenty of X11 coins. What are the Dev/Team doing to make us stay?
|
|
|
Ergh, Hiro is taking a fair hit the past few days. Currently at 1430! Who would sell at that price? Crazy, its a loss. Great time to buy I guess, but it still doesn't look good.

As an Australian myself... I must say the logo for this coin looks decidedly Un-Australian... I mean, you can tell the creator knows nothing about Australia. At all. Probably has'nt even read the Wikipedia article.
Secondly... Why Australiacoin? There is nothing which makes this coin Australian except the name? No Australians will know anything about this.
Shameless scamcoin... Absolutely shameless...
AVOID!!!!

it will skyrocket in price like mintcoin. Hopefully it goes around 12 sat, but I'm expecting 15. 12 sat is a good target to hope for. Ecc should jump in price after pow stage is over.
Do you think POW will cease at the correct 45 day mark (30 days from now), or earlier than expected like Mint did?

Also good for the charts Yes! I hear the highest quality Hiro is sold around the 2500-3000 price mark

Geeze... HIRO on MintPal has'nt moved in 5 hours!

Best answer to the X11 question so far is from n00bnoxius in another thread: Also anybody saying that the reason X11 is cooler and uses less power because the miner is inefficient are for the most part simply wrong. Chained algorithms by default will run cooler - there's a gap between each round of hashing that allows the GPU some breathing space. No doubt there is room for the miner to be improved as it's such a recent development, but it will simply NEVER hit the unbelievable power consumption of a single algo coin.

|
|
^^^ Thanks. Already implemented, perfect!
Interesting info on the X11 question too... easily the best answer I've heard so far. So thanks again.

I'm not convinced either way on this question yet and I'm open to all info. That said, my current opinion is this... I don't think it's as simple as "less heat/power than scrypt = inefficient". I think that's a totally reasonable and logical conclusion for a person with limited knowledge (like me, and most of us) But that's the problem. We don't know enough about any of this to make an educated assessment. We're just speculating based on... well, not much. So here's my speculation - As a person who has mined X11 for about a week now, I can tell you my GPUs are getting stressed. They are also getting hot. One overheated last night and I had to shutdown for a bit. My desktop is slow, the same as when using high intensity in scrypt. The only difference I've noticed is my power use has gone from 700+watt to around 410watt. In a country with high electricity prices, that's great for me. That said, it varies. Sometimes goes as high as 420. At the end of the day I think SpeedDemon is right... you would need a programmer and computer engineer to debunk it or verify it.
If scrypt did'nt generate so much heat and use so much power would we be questioning X11? No.

This is a noob question no doubt, but here I go...
I see a bunch of coins which use KGW have been temp suspended from MintPal due to a KGW flaw, pending the patch.
"MintPal @MintPalExchange Reminder: We have suspended deposits & withdraws for AUR, KDC, PANDA & USDe due to the KGW attack until the respective wallets are patched."
Anyone know why Hiro, also using KGW, isn't one of them? Not big enough to bother?

Hiro is a scam, you are probably being scammed right now. How are you being scammed .... let me explain it to you. This is not secret information, the instamine, the conspiracy theories of a better mining program. All that information is already here in the thread for anyone to read. That seems hard to believe. From what i've read, most here are getting around 3 MH/s. Using very conservative figures at 500 WATTS ...
If you had mined the coin you would know better. I'm on 4.3MH/s at 412w. No, it's not massively profitable, no coin is right now. Again, if someone can bring something new to the table, then please, I'm all ears. But if it's just all this FUD (for newbies - fear, uncertainty, doubt) your peddling, well... nobody is interested.
