123  Economy / Economics / Re: The Starting Of The "Bitcoin Derivative" - What side are you on? on: March 30, 2013, 01:12:34 PM
This should get interesting when Popescu, cypherdoc, Death&Taxes have a good read.

I picture sickly, orange-lit zombies lined up at cyber-cafes and with smiles and a thin bead of sweat as they wait for their coffee mc-latte and bitcoin spikes. Quiet corners of lounges lit with orange and everyone knowing that was the bitcoin-geek corner.
Great job! Now shower and get some sleep. Wink
127  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What happens when the government bans businesses from accepting Bitcoins? on: March 25, 2013, 10:11:47 PM
So you realize that to everyone it appears as 2 newbie tuesdays are going to tell everyone how big bossman government is going to decimate bitcoin and its adherents in some pre-planned, hi!-karate!-chop? I see red-herring FUD and not well-dressed arguments - answer D&T's questions and stop trading tin-hat drivel. We are not come-lately to the scene, and can help legit questions. Please be advised that we have ignore buttons and monitor troll/shill activity.

I am concerned that uniformed troll-piles suddenly descending on the forums might harm sincere newbies.
Have fun on the forums!
128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: RFC: Alternative exchange idea on: March 25, 2013, 09:13:04 PM
What would be the best options? Federated servers like OT/fellowtraveller's idea? Blockchain-lite modified clients that reference mining rigs for best percent trades? What is lacking is ready-state WoT to execute trades. We fall back to old-style exchanges because it is what we know, not what we need.

You have to include misappropriation of resources. New 'currency' objects could alleviate the bottleneck through which goods flow.

68000 BTC on ask at gox all the way to 10k$/BTC mark. This is just about 12 BTC per new account. Good luck.

Well, of course, 68k ask is just a tip of the iceberg and more bitcoins can be transferred in quickly, but anyway.  Cool

Vlad,
The world is about to teach the central banks/IMF which end of the chain the dog is on. Bitcoin has just begun to uncoil its massive grasp and with one flick of the tail all of the southern European nations are reeling.
The next round will be containment against Bitcoin, the legitimacy and primacy of fiat banking, and awareness of a new player in finance.
The 10k summit is in reach? I think you called that in summer '11 when you made bold predictions about a hockey stick and projections for BTC.
Check your notes!
Priceless

Phinnaeus Gage = Satoshi Nakamoto  Shocked
I sure hope not! Nice guy and all...
I heard he took a bad one to the head, back in the mining days, and just sits glued like an emotionless lump howling at the moon and posting.
Or I could be wrong Roll Eyes
