Last film I watched was Horrible Bosses 2. First one was pretty good with a few laughs but this was poor. Definitely suffered from the sequel syndrome. Think I only laughed out loud once.

I still need to watch that. They're making a film about him too http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3774114/
122  Other / Off-topic / Re: What Song are you Listening To? on: April 06, 2015, 12:28:44 PM
Metallica - Frantic

Tick-tock. I haven't listened to St Anger in about five years. Most people hated on that album but I actually quite liked it  though the songs were a little long. Album reminds me of summer 2003 though with a lot of good memories.
123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is "Variety Jones"? on: April 06, 2015, 12:26:36 PM
I just cant believe what an idiot Ross was to record EVERY FUCKING thing....That takes the cake.... I have absolutely no doubt he would have been fount not guilty or they would have reached some sort of deal with very very little jail time if it werent for the logs and his computer, but my money is on that they couldnt really have charged him.

I find it hard to believe he did this also. It's literally the most stupidest thing he could have done. He literally created his own paper trail and provided them with all the evidence they needed. Did he think he was invincible and would never have been caught?

With these recent events with the corrupt feds and the reasonable doubt of some other mastermind, is there any hope for Ross to get the conviction overturned or commuted or a shorter sentence? I'm torn on the wrongful conviction aspect. I don't think he ever should've been arrested or convicted but to be fair, I don't know all the whole story and there's the deal with hired assassinations...

His defense will almost certainly try but I'm not sure they'll be able to get it overturned unless they can prove they 100% prove the feds did cross the line on getting certain other evidence. It certainly doesn't look good for the feds and could cast doubt on other aspects of the evidence.
124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The technology behind Bitcoin is not important on: April 06, 2015, 11:49:14 AM
Read and reread Mastering Bitcoin by Andreas Antonopoulos.  It's a good reference material for explaining Bitcoin.

No way! If you've got to read a book to be able to use BTC, BTC will fail. Did you read a book to use fiat money? You didn't and that's why fiat money has been so successful for centuries. BTC needs to reach that stage.

You don't have to read a book to understand bitcoin, but like with anything reading a specialist book gives you a deeper understanding of a certain subject. People might be able to use fiat money without reading a book but the vast majority of people certainly don't understand the economics of money or the way it truly works so reading a specialist book on that would give them a better understanding for sure. You can apply the same logic to everything else. I'm sure you and most people know what the stars are but probably don't have a greater understanding of how they work or were formed other  than the very basics.
125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Interest... again on: April 06, 2015, 11:43:57 AM
Well there is no doubt that interest in Bitcoin would skyrocket if major corporations were to adopt it, in particular those companies that deal with young people. For instance if Playstation, Xbox, Facebook, Google Play etc were to incorporate Bitcoin into their systems, interest in BTC would just explode.

I respectfully disagree. Let's say Google starts to accept BTC. It'll make the news and all, but so what? People are still going to do business with Google using their credit card, Paypal, Google card, or whatever. What's the incentive for any of Google's customers to switch to BTC instead of some electronic form of fiat? It's almost like if some other company starts up a Paypal competitor and called it SuperPayMeNow. Why would people switch to SuperPayMeNow instead of what they've been using for years? Maybe this new payment system charges less fees to the merchant. Maybe merchants will offer customers a small discount. But I just don't think these small incentives are enough.

I agree with some points, but bitcoin adoption would spread considerably if big companies like those mentioned start accepting it. Maybe not explode but I think it would be the catalyst in a bigger growth over time. People would probably gradually switch over from Paypal if another better system came out and if "SuperPayMeNow" was considerably cheaper to use and was accepted everywhere like Paypal is. If places don't accept something then that is a big barrier to adoption so the more places that accept it the better for everyone and ignites bother interest and growth.
126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi on: April 06, 2015, 11:40:09 AM
are we going to see you again ? maybe other project ?  Undecided
He's probably still around under a different nickname. He posted once on his p2pfoundation profile to say that he wasn't Dorian Nakamoto. He is around, he just doesn't like the attention.

I'm not sure that was him and his account there was compromised. One of his email addresses was also hacked around the same time so they likely got in that way.

What if he really was Hal Finney?

What if he is someone else who is now also dead? I don't think he was Finney and satoshi stopped posting long before Hal ever did.

I've come to a conclusion that Satoshi is not a human, but some kind of internet spirit that was formed by everyone's thought and desires.

I reached the answer after seeing so many people believes that they are Satoshi. Roll Eyes

Those people are obviously just trolls or idiots  Cheesy.
127  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's the best free email service? on: April 06, 2015, 10:39:10 AM
Where you don't have to register your phone number like yahoo mail or gmail.... yet also legitimate and secure

I don't think you have to use your phone number with hotmail or outlook or whatever its called nowadays (at least you didn't the last time I used it), but I wouldn't say it's the best account that's for sure but it meets your criteria at least.
128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DEA Agents in Silk Road Case Face Fraud Charges on: April 06, 2015, 07:53:15 AM
These DEA agents aren't even good to themselves, haha Grin Grin always "catching" crime. They are the ones who make crime!
A sad example that shows that power corrupts.

You are not getting it. If the society is crime-free, then these DEA guys will lose their jobs. So it is natural to expect them to create crime scenes, once the crime graph starts to go down.  Grin

I think this is a ridiculous proposition and complete conspiracy theory. The gov don't have to worry about crime rates dropping to the point of 'creating' more crime otherwise the feds/police becoming redundant and unnecessary. There's plenty of crime committed without having to create more to remain employed and relevant not to mention the ridiculous laws that create it in the first place (drug prohibition for example).
129  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Alabama man off death row after 28 years to jailers: "you will answer to God" on: April 06, 2015, 07:32:51 AM
"When you think you are high and mighty and you are above the law, you don't have to answer to nobody. But I got news for them, everybody who played a part in sending me to death row, you will answer to God", Hinton said.

Too bad for him god doesn't exist so there's no justice there, but I don't understand how the US can still have a death penalty after all these mistakes (though morally it's not right any way). I often wonder how many innocent people have been murdered by the state. Does anyone know if people falsely imprisoned get any compensation at all? If so, how much do they get?

I'm sure there will be a settlement, there usually is in such instances, and it varies based on the details of every situation. Not that money can make up for losing 28 years of your life.

I agree. It really is a horrifying miscarriage of justice that could never be adequately repaid to him but I think a very substantial sum in the several millions would be a good start. I think time is priceless and you can never get it back so anyone who is falsely imprisoned for such a long time should be substantially compensated. I can't imagine the psychological damage of being falsely imprisoned not to mention being on death row must be like.
130  Other / Off-topic / Re: Am I the only girl on here? : ( on: April 06, 2015, 07:23:08 AM
Am I inb4 "tits or gtfo"?

I think we are beyond that.  I just didn't like being used in a lie to boost credibility.  i.e. If Vod saw it, she must be a girl!

I haven't seen any pictures of fabiola!.  Any claims otherwise are false.

Blah it wasn't a lie, I was convinced you were one of the few guys who saw my pics a few months ago. Sorry must have been someone else with a similar name on here, no worries.

Who are these mythical males who have seen your pictures? But more importantly why would you send anyone them on here? Or if you were going to send them why not just post them publicly? Just seems more shady and suspicious this way.

132  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: looking for bitcoins with cash on: April 05, 2015, 02:28:38 PM
You wouldn't need to 'double transfer'. Just prove you have the cash then get the buyer to send coins to escrow first then you send money to the buyer. You also might be best looking on localbitcoins for this stuff.
133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where can i see all those old 4chan bitcoin threads! on: April 05, 2015, 12:55:50 PM
You can check 4chan archive. Everyone seems to be against Bitcoin these days in 4chan tho, all these idiots in /biz/ think they've got a clue on whats going on.

I haven't been on 4chan in a couple of years but what are they saying? I can't see why people over there would be against bitcoin unless they A) Lost money by investing or B) didn't invest anything and missed the bitcoin boat.
134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DEA Agents in Silk Road Case Face Fraud Charges on: April 05, 2015, 11:32:58 AM

You could probably argue Mexican Drug Cartels are doing their bit to end the war on drugs too.
No, you probably couldn't. Criminal drug cartels are a direct consequence of the war on drugs. Up to the 1980's, many drugs from Columbia and Ecuador were collected though ad-hoc farmers co-ops, run at local levels.  The war on drugs increased the money flowing through this system to make it attractive to criminals, and then phychotic criminals. Without a 'war', the drug market is no different from other legal drugs, such as alcohol or tobacco. Look at prohibition in the US as an example of how criminality involves itself in trade that becomes proscibed.

Then surely Silk Road is also a direct consequence of the war on drugs? When you try prohibit anything it will always create a black market. I think the true libertarian revolutionaries with regards to the drug or free market will be the people creating the decentralized exchanges. It will be interesting to see how Law Enforcement tries tackling them with no central authority to go after.

Before this gets out of hand with heartless logic, don't forget your roots.

I think you should apply this wider... question everything.
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DEA Agents in Silk Road Case Face Fraud Charges on: April 05, 2015, 09:34:34 AM
It's a joke, is what it is. An insult to the very concept of justice. DPR is still a bad person, but a fair judicial system would give him a retrial. Look at all of this evidence that wasn't presented.

I find it interesting that in your words "DPR is still a bad person" when his history is anything but and he was trying to do his part to end the war on drugs. Or are you judging him on the charges that have been dropped, except for one local? Regardless, those are charges. It seems like people care more about laws, than actual morals or compassion regarding issues. If that continues to be true, the future does not look bright. I see people arguing for laws and ignoring their hearts. That, in part, is how we have been manipulated to where we currently are.

You could probably argue Mexican Drug Cartels are doing their bit to end the war on drugs too. I wouldn't have an issue with DPR if he was true to his word and set up Silk Road as a revolutionary and libertarian idea, but to me it seems very likely he ordered hits on people and then tried to blame it on Mark Karpales which I'm very skeptical he had anything to do with it. People seem to be ignoring many of his unscrupulous acts which invalidate everything else he's done imo.

137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Amazing!] Is Bitcoin "Rad", "Sick", "Hella-good", or 'the Bomb'? on: April 03, 2015, 03:29:00 PM
I can't remember how long ago it was when everything good was "Rad".
"The bomb" was an extremely popular term near the turn of the century, but mostly on the West coast, fortunately 'the bomb' didn't hit some parts of the country.
Later, "Sick" and "Hella-good" became both groovy and awesome.

What is the modern word for something that is really amazing?
Is Bitcoin ready to be that good for everyday users?

I believe the term is actually da bomb  Wink Cheesy. Maybe the name 'bitcoin' itself could become a term for something great. Sometimes people use 'money' this way https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvKeDr3k7n0  Grin
138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An exchange where balances are stored in users' wallets? on: April 03, 2015, 03:22:56 PM
What you're talking about there are decentralized exchanges. I don't know of any functional ones currently in operation but I believe there are several in development and I'm sure they will become quite popular over time. There are also decentralized marketplaces like openbazaar which could revolutionize tor markets and even maybe rival ebay one day. .

Are there a signature campaign without minimun?

Without minimum posts or member level? Bit x and bitmixer have no minimum posting requirements but you have to be a Full Member to join. There are a few campaigns open to newbs and above but don't pay much. You can view all the campaigns at the following https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0
140  Other / Off-topic / Re: What Browser You Use on: April 03, 2015, 02:44:10 PM
Probably means the offical TOR browser, which is basically Firefox.

It's a modified version of Firefox but it's the tor browser bundle so you're using tor not Firefox. They're obviously very different.
