So was up.

Where is SFRdirect? Was it already released?

That isn't just funny, it's actually downright hilarious...

You are one of the least respected people in the entire crypto community, and infamously known as a troll against almost every coin. Sometimes i think to myself how people like you can exist, then i realize you use the anonymity of the internet to hide behind a charade of shadows and in an effort to make up for your many insecurities. Maybe mommy never loved you? Or you had an abusive father? Either way there are better avenues to deal with your pent up emotions.. therapy, which i highly recommend for you.

If you're a kid, you should probably get your life together, luckily you're young and there's still time for you to become a contributing member of society. If you're an adult, as you would say, "that isn't funny, it's actually downright hilarious". But honestly, it's not funny, it's just kinda sad. Does nothing else bring you joy in life? Do you not have any actual hobbies or interests? I'm curious into how your mind works...

Thank you for looking into this. I've seen them post a lot recently on brand new coins. I talked to a few friends who are more tech savy than i, and they recommended that I remain cautious and just be safe and not use the online or paper wallets. So any additional info you gather would be greatly appreciated:)

We should start a bounty for
LDOGE tipbot on twitter!

Maybe a bounty for a Mac wallet too!

I'd give 50k for it.

Dev, if you'll post an address for this, I'll give.

Consider another 50k donated by me as well Smiley

Hey everyone!

This is officially the first coined i've ever mined! I mean I still only rented hash but it beats buying coins on an exchange. Why not mess around with a coin with no premine or IPO, at least everyone will be on an even playing field. The ANN is a little lacking but hey, the Dev was around for the launch and hopefully he can update soon with more info and future plans. BPI is such a catchy ticker though for the coin and how could you not support a PI related coin so close to 3.14 Smiley

Just remember

Who is "we"?

So far I have only found positives in safron. I believe it can be greatly improved and having to download a bloated blockchain to install the GREAT full version of the wallet IS a problem indeed, but in general is much better project that 99% out there... and thats why i made a modest investment in it.

Curious, really curious about who is "we" since I dont find a whole lot of projects to praise in scam-ridden alt world...

First off its Saffron(SFR), not safron.
and
I think he was referring to the SFR community that is here to support, help, and generally believes in Saffron's goals.

Hes a jr and you are a newvie and all of a sudden you are "we"Huh? How peculiar indeed...

I may not post alot on here but have been active in this community for a good while now, I spend my time on IRC. Maybe you could drop in sometime and get to know some of us? We welcome everybody to come hang out and discuss. #sfrcoin

Exactly Mikr, that's the same with me. I found SFR before I really found BCT, and have only increased my BCT presence to contribute/participate towards growing the SFR community Smiley

So now you're looked down upon unless you dilute the quality of posts only to increase the quantity? Seems very legitimate and probably helpful for the longterm growth of the coin? Regardless, that's great thing about SFR and it's community, we don't judge and we are open to everyone. The community is so diverse, it's great! So many different walks of life can share ideas with different perspectives, all with the common goal of supporting SFR.

Nope. It says that "at least 10GB will be installed (now) with more over time". Very clearly.

Hey barabbas! What version of the wallet did you download and where did you download it from? Maybe someone who has a PC can try to replicate your issue to see what's going on so we can try to come to a solution Smiley

As for some of your previous comments regarding Roshan and his dedication or commitment to SFR, I believe may be a little misguided. I, in no way speak for Roshan or on behalf of SFR, but simply as an active community member who cares and believes in SFR's future.

In my opinion the wallet alone is worth many times the current price. By I see several problems, chief among which is the one evidenced by "Digithusiast" -and which brought me here too-: No one knows of Saffron in altworld, no one. And ther name is one of the least-appealing names possible in crypto also, with the logo being a close follower. It appears that Roshan doesn't want to get the coin promoted because he doesn't want hype... well, not-hype in alts today means death of the coin, as simple as that. If investors hadn't heard of a coin, even if it is the best, it will simply die forgotten in a sea of scandal/scam-ridden It just won't work in the long run. , over populated scene with more and more scarcity of funds to invest. HYPE IS NEEDED. And, in this case, it won't be hype, it would be promotion of a great technical project, a very undervalued one.

I have already pointed out the other dangerous direction this coin project is going towards: Decentralization. Specifically a real decentralized market. It is a waste of time and resources... buit I won't repeat myself since I have recently addressed the subject here.

If I were Roshan, I would concentrate my efforts in letting people know a) that Saffron exists and b) that is one of the best altcoins and probably the most undervalued of all.

I agree! I think the wallet is top notch too and is actually one of the first things that caught my attention and brought me into SFR. I personally do not think the name needs to be changed. I don't have the largest background in south east asian studies, but if I'm not mistaken, Saffron (both the color and spice) play an important and influential role within the history of India, Buddhism, and Hinduism. A lot of south east Asia could tremendously benefit from crypto currencies and i've always understood SFR as one means to achieve this. This is a long term goal any and all crypto currencies (including bitcoin), and nothing that "hype" can accomplish. For any crypto currency to be considered legitimate it must have a large enough market cap that the price wouldn't be terribly affected by hype or (his twin half brother) fud. Gaining any significant traction in a south east Asia county, like India, would benefit any coin (again including bitcoin) more than any "hype" could do. The type of promotion demonstrated by crypto currencies in the past has proven ineffective and short lived, and often times and final "nail in the coffin". If someone were to provide a truly unique marketing plan which would overcome the follies of coins past, please be my guess I'd be the first to tip them some SFR Smiley SFR, in my opinion, is one of the few coins taking a different approach in regards to targeting new demographics (outside of crypto), which again speaks to the coin's name. From the information Roshan provides the community, it sounds like there's great things in store for Unocoin and Saffroncoin.

My friend, coins can not live nor die, so how can you kill something that cannot live (half joking) Smiley But in all seriousness, all crypto currencies (both hyped and not-hyped) are all dead. Most if not all, are dropping in volume, price, and liquidity. I have seen no evidence of "hype" ever preventing this from occurring. Let's be honest too, hyping will do nothing for the coin but gain price in the short term. The only new people to be attracted to the coin will be people within the crypto community whom have heard/read/seen the hype disseminated by you (and your team?), but this price increase is so small relative to the value many of us perceive SFR holding in the future, that it hardly seems worth it.

Let me poorly paraphrase the great 1993 Film The Sandlot Smiley : "Remember kid, there's hype and there's delivering. Hypes get remembered but delivering never dies, follow your heart kid, and you'll never go wrong."

Of course when a coin's price drops people, naturally, look for reasons. That's when the dev comes in and reassures them investors or otherwise defends the project. And yes it is normal for people to travel but in today's world travelling doesn't mean absence since we are connected 24/7 regardless where we travel. No one is implying Roshan doesn't deliver but a coin project should be an as dynamic and flexible one as possible for it to be successful. Unless totally failing, a very active BTCT thread is a clear  proof of interest and success, especially if the content is worthwhile rather than the usual confrontation/defense crap between skeptics and cheerleaders. Frequent presence of the main dev is a necessity.

I do agree and it's something i'm victim too, we all should be more active on the bitcointalk thread. However, I don't agree at all that an active BTCT thread is a clear proof of interest and success, but that's a debate for another day Smiley

Roshan has literally been away for no more than 4 days, calm down Smiley Roshan has told us all many times that he is a full time crypto developer (which includes SFR and freelancing work), neither of which have negatively impacted the performance/development of the other. He's got bills to pay and mouths to feed and being a crypto developer is how he gets it done. Yes, this means that there's times when he might be working on a project that's not SFR but he has always delivered and SFR has always been his number 1 priority. Also if he's not responding here, check out the #sfrcoin freenode irc channel, as he is post around there as well.

I do agree that a regular community update might be a good idea, but expecting one every day would be silly. In that regard, I don't think the frequency of the update would be as important as the consistency of occurrence. This information could be available and disseminated to both new and current investors and traders, and I could see it as a weekly newsletter either emailed out to a list and/or posted on the BCT thread and maybe the SFR website.

Hey barabbas you may not got this far reading in the thread but here ya go Smiley

dcct has created a block explorer with a difficulty graph. You can use any of the existing explorers if one does not work for u.

Explorer
https://bchain.info/SFR/

Richlist
https://bchain.info/SFR/rich/

Difficulty Graph
https://bchain.info/SFR/diff

Block explorer and rich list links don't work.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SFR] SaffronCoin | Decentralized Exchange to release soon! on: November 12, 2014, 09:44:00 PM
hey barabbas those are definitely some good points that i'm sure the devs are keeping in the back of their heads. But if i'm not mistaken SFRDirect, SFR's decentralized exchange, will be based on the counterparty protocol, and those familiar with the counterparty protocol know that a decentralized exchange is only touching the surface of the true potential of the protocol. A lot of really cool things can be done and built on top of it that are 100% legal in the eyes of the law (look at companies like overstock who are already investigating and looking to implement these applications).

While your concerns are valid, I just don't think the correlate with shutting down the entire project Smiley

@ Rosham

First of all congrats on your nominations.

I am doing research on your project and have a couple of questions that I would like you to answer if you will:

-- The projected "Decentralized exchange" you mention in the Roadmap, is still a go I assume since it is also in the header of this thread. Are you willing to reconsider that project in view of the recent actions of multinational agencies that have so far gotten Defcom in jail and over 400 "decentralized" web sites closed with promises for similar sweep and swift actions to come to the digital currencies world in the next future? And if not, why not since regulation and legal prosecution would clearly endanger the viability of your project?

Thanks in advance for your answers and congratulation also on your wallet. Quite impressive.

Hi barabbas,

The decentralized asset exchange and other decentralized tools will definitely be released.
Decentralized tools are not banned. The websites that got banned probably used decentralization for illegal activities like silkroad. I don't think as long as you use this   protocol for not doing anything illegal, would there be a problem.
If that was the case then bitcoin would be banned in all countries.
But there could be issues with regulations. That is something we need to look at once it arrives. Hopefully we can figure out something that would benefit everyone when the time comes.

Thank you for such quick answer.

The obvious argument would be that there's no way to prevent illegal usage of a decentralized exchange, therefore it will be taken down by authorities, even before regulation shuts it down.

I guess what I am questioning is how wise it is to dedicate efforts and other resources to such a project -which, by the way, dozens of other coins are in different processes of offering and some already do-, since it's real value is doubtful at best right now and very, very dangerous at worst.

In my opinion, you could have a much productive fruit of your obvious talents concentrating on developing more innovative project, within this coin, instead. But that just my opinion, of course.

Thanks again and good luck!

Everyone should also check out Coin Source's Proof of Honor award. It's supposed to highlight and give recognition to a selected member of the crypto community who has exemplified excellence and true contributions to crypto as a whole. I dunno about all of you guys but I immediately thought of Rosh. He's done so much and such a great job for SaffronCoin, yet sadly, he doesn't always get the recognition or acknowledgment for his efforts as he should. That's why I nominated him for the Proof of Honor award.

You can find the link here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855130.msg9514886#msg9514886

He needs to be nominated 15 times to be added to the voting list, and I already nominated him once, so we only need 14 more! Let's make this happen guys!! Rosh deserves it and it'd be great for SaffronCoin as well Smiley

When sfdirect will be released

SSL certificates have just been setup for the SFRDirect Webwallet as an extra medium of security. The SFRDirect protocol and decentralized exchange are all developed. We are working on some extra features to increase the value of cSFR and its usage.

gdavis above mentioned some interesting methods having an SFRaffle. So we would be implementing that. He had also mentioned of developing an asset for the Elite club on top of Saffroncoin Blockchain through SFRDirect known as SFR Elitecoins. Instead of holding SFR for joining the elite club, users need to hold some elitecoins to join the Elite club. Those elitecoins can be bought by cSFR. A market for this would be setup on the decentralized asset exchange in SFRDirect.

This would increase the value of cSFR and provide the need for burning more SFR.

All other asset currencies don't have much usage apart from trading. We want concentrated SFR to be the most valuable asset currency.
We need to have all bases covered during SFRDirect launch.

Since the burn process would go on for about a month, we would release SFRDirect soon enough for burning and have other assets and SFRaffle developed before the burning phase gets over.

Nice detailed answer. But can you say a feasible time interval, when it can be released?

If it will be in December, I'm afraid I will miss it since I will be away for 6 weeks.
No access to my wallet, no internet connection to the place I will be going to...I will be coming back mid-January next year...

 Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SFR] SaffronCoin | Decentralized Exchange to release soon! on: November 10, 2014, 02:02:12 PM
I got the impression that the burning process and and the amount of cSFR produced would be variable, no? Meaning over the month long burning those that burned towards the beginning would receive closer to .9 cSFR per 1 SFR burned gradually decreasing to .7 cSFR per 1 SFR burned for those that burned closer towards the end. A way to at least incentivize early burners.

I was also thinking that we could maybe coincide the release of SFRaffle with cSFR and try to issue "raffle tickets" as a part of the burning process. So to enter the raffle you'd have to burn a certain amount of sfr into cSFR. This would bring attention to cSFR and hopefully convinces some extra people to burn. The more SFR burned the better right? The more cSFR created the more it decreases sfr's overall supply.

0.7cSFR. When the burn at this rate plus the EliteClub get under way we can expected big things.

Hey folks we are proposing some changes for the SFRDirect protocol. So would like your input.

There would a greater control on the supply of cSFR. So burning of 1 SFR would yield 0.9-0.7 cSFR which would make the value of cSFR even more valuable and hence it would be a "concentrated" currency.
We do not want to have millions of cSFR available because there is SFR for that. We want cSFR to be used only for specific tasks where 1 cSFR could hold a good value.

Other asset currencies are highly inflated since they produce more than what is burnt and they are not really used much other than just trading.

Having a highly limited asset currency being used on marketplaces, exchanges, stores could add a lot of value to cSFR as well as SFR.

Please do give your views on this proposal.

What will happen when many realize that they got involved in another pump & dump coin instead holding some SFR?

What happens when many realize than SFR is also targeting a market untapped by any other crypto currency and even bitcoin itself to an extent

Any update about SFRDirect?

Hi,
I know it can get a bit frustrating for many to wait for the next release since all of our developments so far have been pretty quick and released before ETA.
SFRDirect is the only one that is taking much more time than expected and one of the reasons the price is tanking.
We are working as fast as we can but this is a huge feature and our biggest development. It is also a hugely complex feature. So we do not want to rush up things and want to make sure everything works perfect.

At present this is the development part that is taking a bit time. There is some issue with the correct SFR address format and versions being generated. We are working on this. Once this issue is solved, the next page would be the decentralized exchange! The commands work well. The bug is in the web wallet.
So SFRDirect is almost near completion just this one hectic bug left.

There are some exciting times for SFR ahead. Once SFRDirect is out, we will instantly start work on cryptoxindia and the elite club which many of u are eagerly waiting for.

Thanks for the update! I have a feeling we all know how hard you are working but its always nice getting these updates Smiley it's great to hear all the progress and i can safely say everyone here is very excited. Everyone knows the current price does reflect what we all envision the true value to be and maybe i'm just naturally optimistic but just given the overall bearistic btc outlook its hard to not see the direct correlation across the entire alt market over the past couple months. Every coin has been affected and the only coins A. being traded and B. rising in price are short term pumps that get dumped just as fast and hard as they were pumped. I'm okay with not being one of those coins.

In a market filled with coins chasing the newest fads, SFR is unique in the fact that it has held true to many traditional crypto values, for instance like POW mining. That being said, I do believe the Elite Club is great important feature that will help bridge the gaps between miners and investors alike. The idea itself is a great example of how through a  collaborative effort between the dev team and community, a casual brainstorming sesh one fateful day helped spawned an idea that can easily cement itself as one of SFR's core features. I know a lot of people have different ideas on the requirements and benefits for these different level(s) of the elite club, but I think it's just important that were having the discussion. In the end, SFR will easily benefit from instituting a program that keeps a large portion of SFR from the market. That could be in the form of providing benefits to the largest holders (decreasing the number of people by making the criteria too high for most) or create a program that's designed to provide benefits to as many holders as possible requiring a smaller amount of SFR to make entry easier for more people. I think the best would be a balance and combination between the two.

I don't think I need to say anything about cryptoxindia... legend... wait for it....dary Smiley
