121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Overstock CEO Calls Bitcoin Code "Slop" on: June 23, 2014, 05:58:35 PM
Yeah I agree, kinda harsh to call it 'slop'.
122  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is BitCoin faucets really worth the time? on: June 23, 2014, 01:34:02 PM
I don't think it was that one.
123  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is BitCoin faucets really worth the time? on: June 23, 2014, 01:21:44 PM
I can't remember what site it was but I used one that gave you money for listening to the radio and filling in a captcha every so often. Listened to it half a day once and still barely got anything lol. Lesson learned.

How much were you betting and how much did you lose?
125  Other / Off-topic / Re: FIFA World Cup 2014!!! on: June 23, 2014, 01:07:27 PM
Another example of pathetic game planning by the FIFA. 4 matches in a day and two of them at the same time. Which one I should chose? Netherlands v Chile or Australia v Spain? I am more inclined towards the second match, as I want to watch the Australians play.
Yeah this definitely sucks if you ask me.
I'd rather watch Netherlands.

I think it's an obvious choice. Holland and Chilie will both want to win, whereas the outcome of the Spain game doesn't matter, not to mention Spain have played shit so far.
126  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just created Paper Wallets on Coinbase....how safe are my BTC? on: June 23, 2014, 12:38:25 PM
Coins are always only as safe as your computer is. If in doubt with paper wallets test them by sending a little ammount to them first. You can always check the balances on the blockchain.
127  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to transfer my BTC into cash? on: June 23, 2014, 12:30:33 PM
Then use a bank transfer or some money transmitter services that lets you quickly withdraw the money.
128  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to transfer my BTC into cash? on: June 23, 2014, 11:42:56 AM
Sometimes I think you ask questions just for the sake of it Gondel. If you sell to paypal you're likely to be scammed. You can easily sell for bank transfer on here as I'm sure you already know.

Martin gale will work on small ammounts on a big balance. Just quit whilst you're ahead and don't get greedy.
Not really, you can also bust on the first few rounds, even if you have a big balance, the risk is actually higher here.

This gambling system works so that you must take ever escalating risks to potentially receive a small reward that does not increase with your increased risk.
It isn't worth is to use 1BTC to get 1 satoshi. If you actually want to use it to make a decent profit, example, 0.01, you can bust within the first few rounds, variance occurs so you might get a very bad streak immediately.

But you won't just win 1 satoshi. You could start betting 1 satoshi each time but if you've got a 1btc balance eventually you'll have a big loosing streak and eventually win where you make a little profit. Rinse and repeat.

2^23 and that 1BTC is gone.  It most likely won't happen on the first bet, but it very well could.  The fact you fail to understand odds is saddening.  Whatever the final exit limit is can be calculated at 2^(X-1) - X is the number of times you can fail before loosing everything.

This is the reason casinos have table limits to keep absurdity out.

I know the odds and I didn't say it was foolproof. You're unlikely to hit 23 loses for a while and obviously you take the gamble that this wont happen on your first rounds. Get greedy and gamble all day and you'll most certainly lose out.
130  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why do scammers scam? on: June 23, 2014, 10:01:59 AM
Asking why do scammers scam is silly. Why do people steal? Many reasons but greed. I guess maybe some are addicted to it and get a buzz like gambling or something too.

132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal Integrating Bitcoin soon. on: June 23, 2014, 09:46:27 AM
Hello,
Sorry for the noob question, but i never used paypal to sell or buy BTC, I only used paypal to get paid in Odesk:, so what is this chargeback with paypal? How can someone scam you buying your BTC with paypal? Thanks!
BR
Gondel

Send you PayPal payment. You send BTC to buyer. Buyer does a chargeback from credit card. Your BTC got stolen. That's a simple way of putting it.
Credits cards will far harder to come by when the next Dollar-debt-bubble bursts.

I've already had my credit card rights rescinded by Bank of Evil America, it was a Platinum Plus and I've been with the bank for over a decade. Banks just don't give a fuck anymore, I'm apparently too risky to do business with now because I have student loan debt.

Crypto is going to fuck their whole evil system up, and that's why I love it.
Bitcoin credit cards, ok nvm better not give them banks any ideas

I doubt bitcoin credit cards will work, but bitcoin debit cards will and are already available. I think they'll be a pretty good idea too.
133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The word "Coin" - A new meaning on: June 23, 2014, 09:37:04 AM
I think i'll just stick with the old meaning.

another person trying to 'coin' a new phrase

Haha well done.
134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Samsung or Toshiba were to make ASIC chips? on: June 22, 2014, 04:23:46 PM
I wonder what would happen if a company came along that could offer really cheap miners that most could afford? It would be sweet if regular people could get into the mining game again.
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Survey Says Most Americans Want to Ban Bitcoin: Highlighting Need for Education on: June 22, 2014, 04:11:19 PM
Asking the general public what they think about bitcoin at this stage is silly. Most of them will either not understand it at all or heard mostly bad things about it.
136  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar - decentralized eBay on: June 22, 2014, 04:01:12 PM
It just seems like if Dread Pirate Roberts came out into the open and started talking about silk road. I support what theyre doing though.
137  Other / Off-topic / Re: What was the BTC price when you joined the community? on: June 22, 2014, 03:58:53 PM
Geeze, I can't even remember. I know it was about $1000 when I first heard of it though.
138  Other / Off-topic / Re: FIFA World Cup 2014!!! on: June 22, 2014, 03:51:23 PM
I can't say I'm interested in any of the games today. Bring on Monday's games, though.

Tuesday's games has Uruguay vs. Italy. That is a definite watch for me as it could end up having both Italy and England out of their group, and Uruguary along with Costa Rica would move on.

Yeah Italy verses Uruguay will be good, but England are already out.
139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jeff Garzik's Bitcoin Balance Revealed on: June 22, 2014, 03:15:41 PM
What happened to his plan to launch Bitcoin satelites in to space? (It was a partnership between the Dunvegan Space Systems, owned by him and Deep Space Industries Inc.)  Grin I think he spent a lot of his coins in this project.

Check his last posts on here. I saw that he'd just mentioned it.
140  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar - decentralized eBay on: June 22, 2014, 03:11:11 PM
Wont they get into trouble openly developing this sort of thing?
