You don't say on what platform, so I'll assume Windows.  If you are using Windows 7, for example, do the following:

1) Control Panel > System and Security > Schedule Tasks
2) Create a Task...
3) Go to the 'Conditions' tab
4) Select 'Start the task only if idle for' and specify amount of idle time
5) Specify 'Stop if the computer ceases to be idle' and 'Restart if the idle state resumes'

You may send my payment to: 171CeWvZ9fqDGJ2wQQ97abVPa2LsZKVCpZ

PS> I'm sure you have nothing malicious in mind for this, and if you do I have no fear you will succeed.  Smiley

Very cool, did not know you could do this.

Looks interesting.  Will be watching.
125  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reverse-engineer bitcoin transactions on: April 04, 2012, 08:13:15 AM
The idea

Project to recover identity of bitcoin users. Scanning web pages for bitcoin addresses, identifying them with people, and also scanning bitcoin transactions to try to reverse engineer which bitcoin address belongs to which person.

This might work for those who use a static address.   So maybe those who accept donations or those who share their data.  But for others who use Bitcoin in the manner it was architected (i.e., new address for each incoming payment), do you think you'll have any clue who they might be?
I support building it.  Some people will change their behavior, and some will not.  It is inevitable, and I think its smart to try to get there first.  Will be watching.

1. Searches are really slow

2. After a seach, the search box disappears, so you can't modify your search terms.  Weird and annoying behavior.

3. Are there any items listed only on your site, or is this essentially just a fancy way of searching amazon and ebay at the same time? (when I search with amazon and ebay unchecked, nothing is returned, or it just displays results from amazon anyways...?)

Cool!

If you keep the information, you can issue a chargeback on a prepaid visa, I believe.

So in other words everything has to be funneled through your website for your branding reasons would this be correct ? Just want clarification and transparency for everyone here then I'll move on.

Since I came up with this idea and created the subreddits, yes, I would like the privilege of branding it the way I like. I enjoy teaching these things and thats part of my motivation for investing so much time in this. I dont have any ads, I'm not charging fees so yes, this is what I ask everyone let me do as my "tip" for teaching people about this.

It looks like we have a dictatorship.

Yikes.  This does not bode well for GGBTC.  Looking forward to see LadyBytes' subreddit.

I agree that the pimp flair on GGBTC is kind of skeezy. Watching.

GGBTC may be spliting, forming a new "for women, by women" subreddit
133  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [BidOnBitcoins.com] Dollar Auction game for Bitcoins on: April 02, 2012, 09:46:57 PM
Are you joking? There is completely the possibility for the owner to cheat.

The owner can always submit the last bid, keeping the prize for themselves and taking everyone else's bids.

These kind of auctions are really stupid.  They only benefit the auction site owner, and everyone else loses.
134  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: troubles with Bitcoinica on: April 02, 2012, 08:56:24 PM
You should contact Bitcoinica support.  They are the only ones who can help you with this.

It is not uncommon on these forums for anonymous newbies to claim damages from this or that to try and get donations from forum members.  Screenshots can be doctored. Just saying.

I don't understand how he will possibly get any of his funds returns, but decided to post because it was interesting.

Does anyone understand how/why this works?
