I think this article explains it properly.

http://chimera.labs.oreilly.com/books/1234000001802/ch04.html
and read this as well.

122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to get BCH from my existing Bitcoins? on: August 20, 2017, 08:11:44 AM
So, from what I have read, as long as you own the private keys to your Bitcoins, you can claim your BCH at any point of time.

There is some information here: https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/beginners-guide-claiming-your-bitcoin-cash-and-selling-it/

The steps according to me should be:

1. Install a reliable and safe Bitcoin Cash wallet on a different computer. The reason for installing on a different computer is to prevent any conflicts between BCH specific wallet (for example: Bitcoin ABC) and Bitcoin wallet.

2. Take a backup of your wallet using Bitcoin Core wallet.

3. Import the back up into Bitcoin Cash wallet.

4. Now, for added safety, you can move the Bitcoins to a new Bitcoin Core Wallet so that they don't share the same addresses.

Yes this process will work. Just make sure to transfer your bitcoins to a new wallet first.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to get BCH from my existing Bitcoins? on: August 20, 2017, 08:09:53 AM
Yeah want to know an aswer to this question aswell Smiley

Before August 1st I've transported my BTC to Jaxx Wallet and still trying to find out how to claim my BCC since the app still doesn't support BCC.

Is there an alternative way to claim my BCC since I do own the private keys?

You can import your private keys in "electron cash" wallet or BTC.com wallet but I will advice you to transfer your bitcoins first in a different wallet just for safety.
124  Other / MultiBit / Re: Moving Bitcoin from Multibit Classic to Electrum on: August 20, 2017, 06:58:04 AM
Classic is really old, I will advice you to move your wallet to electrum.
As for transfer, Both options are good, you can try whatever works best for you and to claim your BCH on a later date you need to keep your multibit private key safe.

Because right now you will be only sending your bitcoins and your BCH will remain on your old multibit address.
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: help with transaction on: August 20, 2017, 06:32:55 AM
thanks for your quick reply. For what Im reading I made a real noob mistake (didnt understand electron cash).

So its certainly possible to get my bitcoins back?

I don't get the point BTW. Witch wallet are you referring me to restore? I already restored my wallet from electrum with my seed and still shows 0 balance

Yes it is possible. Always remember "electrum" is for bitcoins and "electron cash" is for "Bitcoin Cash" aka BCC/BCH.

As Ranochigo said you can get your coins back by making a wallet in electrum by using your electron cash seed

or You can simply export that 1G97 address private key from "electron cash" and sweep it in mycellium.
126  Other / MultiBit / Re: Bitcoin in Multibit Classic wallet can Bitcoin Cash Be retrieved ?? on: August 19, 2017, 10:30:08 PM
Hi Folks

I have Bitcoin in a Multibit Classic Wallet stored off line before and after the fork

Is it possible to extract Bitcoin Cash from Multi Bit Classic ?

Thanks

Yes, You should move your bitcoins to a new wallet for safety and once it's empty, export your private keys and import them in
either electron cash or https://bcc-wallet.btc.com. You can find all wallet links here https://www.bitcoincash.org/
127  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: How to recover the secret key of the bitcoin address of thelocal trader account? on: August 19, 2017, 10:07:56 PM
What honestly do you mean about local trader this is mycelium  section where only mycelium walle only are here maybe you are talking about bitcoin account from some traders .. i think there is no trading site are giving you private keys/secret keys they are just exchange site and they are not providing any private keys or ways to backup or export  secret/private keys.
Better to explain to us what is local trader account you mean,, ?

Mycellium allows you to sell your bitcoins locally thru local trader system but electrum does not supports that.
OP you need to recover your account in mycellium, once you have done that, click on Buy/Sell, Open Market and swipe from right to left 5 times and you will see "My info" Tab,once you are on that Tab, click on 3 Dots on the header and backup your trader identity (Public key/Private key)
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do Not Use Electron Cash! on: August 19, 2017, 09:50:22 PM
Hello everyone. I have a problem claiming my Bitcoin cash from the private keys.

I had a BTC balance on Electrum wallet (with 2fa enabled) before and after the swap. Moved my BTC after the swap to a diff address for security reasons. Now cannot use my private keys, every wallet (Electron cash, coinomi, Bitcoin ABC ) says that there is no funds on those keys, but the block explorer confirms that my Bitcoin Cash is there: https://blockchair.com/bitcoin-cash/address/36XmauGXBMEMjMNbRXxmCWy1X8g9SLEwFC. What am I doing wrong? Anyone has an idea?
Thanks.

Will pay 100$ in BTC to a person who will find a solution to my problem (fyi, I don't have my seed phrase for Electrum wallet)

If you don't have seed, open your electrum wallet.dat in electron cash,(Start electron cash, in wallet option, click on choose and select your electrum wallet.dat file.)

It will work.

(Please make sure to transfer your bitcoins to a different wallet first for safety) Once your bitcoin wallet is empty, use it for bitcoin cash.

I think you can be happy that you haven't been able to access them yet. Otherwise you may have sold them at 300 usd Wink

Yes, in my opinion whatever happens, happens for a reason.
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: 100 dollars in btc for helping me get my BCH on: August 19, 2017, 09:03:40 PM

Thank you so much and I'm glad it worked. You were creating a "standard wallet" before that's why it wasn't working.

Edit: Thank you OP, Received your tip. I really appreciate it.

132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: 100 dollars in btc for helping me get my BCH on: August 19, 2017, 07:23:39 PM
You need to tell which electrum wallet you are using for bitcoin and with what settings? and please post your bitcoin address where your bitcoins are stored or were stored.

Ps: Do you have electrum seed ? (Bitcoin wallet)

I am not accusing you, I am only being legitime curious about that.
I would like to answer your question in simple words. According to laws of my country I am free to do anything.
134  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info Login page fucked up on: August 18, 2017, 04:55:41 PM
Not sure why you want to access desktop site only, you can access your account thru mobile app as well. However if that's what you want to do then there are multiple ways to do that.

1. Ever heard about browser virtualization?
https://www.browserling.com
https://turbo.net
Try them, if they don't work, let me know i'll try to find some other option.

Ps: Does it allows you to run bootable usb? If yes, run ubuntu or some other os.

Pss: It might be a client side issue, so make sure to clear cache and do a hard refresh.
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The weakness of blockchain is the identification of a person on: August 18, 2017, 01:40:09 PM
OP There's no weakness in blockchain and I don't know why some of you are relating it with your wallets. They are not trying to bind your wallets with your identity, they are trying to make a decentralized web of trust.
136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Stuck transaction for 17 days on: August 18, 2017, 12:43:45 PM
There's another method, that might work but you need to know what you are doing.

137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Stuck transaction for 17 days on: August 18, 2017, 12:41:12 PM
yes it is synced

Well you can try this method but first take a backup of your wallet.dat

1:  Use this method to remove that unconfirmed transaction, since you are using QT, this option might work.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1238034.msg12890218#msg12890218

Quote
Backup Wallet (always before messing with your wallet)
Start->Run->type "cmd" -> hit enter, a black command prompt window should appear
    Type

Code:

"C:\Program Files\Bitcoin\bitcoin-qt.exe" -zapwallettxes

in the window and hit enter

2. Most preferable option is to export your private keys and import them on electrum.org or blockchain.info wallet and spend those coins again with atleast 0.001 BTC fees.

3. Install bitcoin core and run it, do not delete anything. Since your bitcoin is fully synced it should show your transactions and if it does and first option does not work, you can try to abandon that transaction.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cash has been unconfirmed since I've sent it to Bittrex. PLEASE HELP! on: August 18, 2017, 11:38:27 AM
There's nothing you can do about it, your coins will get confirmed, You just need to wait. I got mine in 2 days when bittrex was asking for 20 confirmations.

Use explorer to check how many confirmations are there now.

You might want to edit your post because some things might not be clear to non-Indians, e.g. that 1 lakh stands for 100 000, or that angadiya is Indian hawala, etc.
Well if they can tag me without knowing what it is and what it's not. I am sure it doesn't matter to them and hawala is something which is completely illegal while angadiya is not. There are over 50000 angadiya in India and they are operating their business legally.

How can you still legally trade bitcoins after been accused of committing a financial crime?

Why don't you ask the same question from politicians, ministers, businessman's who went to jail and came back, why don't you ask the same question from justice department of 280 different countries, where laws are different from each other.
And I would like you to answer why I can't,Which law of my country states that you can't do business if you are accused in any crime.?
I would like you to answer what is the difference between accused and guilty?
