They do not have any integration with cryptocoins. So it is not really comparable.

We are proud to announce the launch of THENEWSBITS!
It is the first cryptocoin news aggregator

I like the idea, but your aren't the first cryptocoin news aggregator.  There are multiple sites for aggregated content.
Please tell us more about it.
123  Bitcoin / Project Development / TheNewsBits - Reddit meets Bitcoin... remember WitCoin? on: September 04, 2013, 10:37:23 PM
We are proud to announce the launch of THENEWSBITS!
Check it out at http://thenewsbits.com

It is the first cryptocoin news aggregator with a unique monetization mechanism. Here you can share and tip posts with the community and get rewarded with real money.

Together we are going to shape the future of content discovery & content creation monetization. Never before was it possible to earn real money while browsing the web and discovering valuable information for the community. The rationale behind it is that the discoverers, the readers and the sharers of content are equally important as the original creators of the content. So why not get rewarded for discovering and sharing valuable content?

HOWTO: Instead of voting up as seen on Reddit/HN you tip up with real bitcoins. And if enough people tip a post after you posted OR tipped it you will get 1.5x your tip back. The sequential order of the tips is preserved. All this works anonymously but you can also create an account to participate more in the community. Furthermore 10% of all incoming tips is reserved for the original creator of the content.

EXAMPLE: You create a post with an initial tip of 0.01 BTC. Alice likes your post and tips it with 0.01 BTC. Now the sum of all tips is 0.02 BTC. Thus we are able to send you 0.015 BTC back to your address from which you send the initial tip from. Ten minutes later Bob comes and tips your post with 0.02 BTC and Alice gets also 0.015 BTC back. For the original creator of the content 0.004 BTC (10% of all tips) gets reserved.

This project is going to be open sourced soon. And this is just the beginning. We are planning to support more coins in the near future.

If you want to contact us for any reason send us an email to info@thenewsbits.com . Contact us especially if you are a NodeJS dev or are interested in investing into us or if you want to do a partnership with us.

If you like it, please upvote it on Reddit! http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1lqas0/reddit_meets_bitcoin_thenewsbitscom/

Happy tipping!

Here is something useful to do with Primecoins which you can not do with any other coin yet.

127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MC2 ("Netcoin"): A cryptocurrency based on a hybrid PoW/PoS system on: August 07, 2013, 01:34:31 AM
An update has been given on the PoW hash function and it has been dramatically simplified; it now uses the digits of pi to random algorithm selection.  N is fixed because I'm worried about it potentially introducing vulnerabilities into the chain if you play with it a lot, and I'm not sure if offers much more security even if you do.

Brilliant idea.

How about using the Golden Number instead of Pi? It is arguably the most noble number.

130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [XPM] Keep On Mining +{Difficulty Log} on: July 29, 2013, 09:45:06 PM
I have noticed that the difficulty has dropped a little bit in the last 24 hours. Also the price has dropped a bit. If you own Primecoins you should continue mining! Even if it is just one CPU... there are thousands of people who mine with just one single CPU and that is also one great thing about Primecoin: everybody (!) has still a real chance to exchange some hardware and electricity against a virtual currency.

Important to understand about XPM is that the more people mine, the lower the block rewards get and thus the supply declines. This drives the price up, let's more people mine it for profit and so on and so on...

KEEP ON MINING before the first GPUminers get build and the difficulty rises, the price goes up and you regret that you did not continue mining while you had a realistic chance to earn some XPM.

So, if you are already mining: post the current difficulty here periodically together with the reward and time of your last found block...

My last mined block earned me 11.79 coins. ("timereceived" : 1374502394). I am mining with one computer only...

Current Difficulty: 9.26531601
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin Release - First Scientific Computing Cryptocurrency on: July 29, 2013, 08:24:25 PM
XPM mining worked for me like a bless. Unfortunatly I did NOT sell everything when the price was 0.018 BTC but I think it is safe to assume that the price will be soon even higher. Primecoin is the first real blockchain innovation since NMC and PPC. Litecoin has only good marketing...
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] The Unofficial Primecoin Overview Thread (all information in one place!) on: July 29, 2013, 12:26:18 PM
let's make this coin succeed! we need an agenda primecoin.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [XPM] PETITION Primecoin listing on BTC-e on: July 27, 2013, 11:41:37 AM
Hi,

I remembered that there where petitions for FTC and CNC for supporting their listing on BTC-e, which is the largest altcoin exchange so far.

Let's do the same for Primecoin! It will be a huge win for XPM to be listed on the largest altcoin exchange.

This is what I am seeing, but no idea if this is working correctly:

It states 680pps

I need to have a really good look at the code as its my first time playing around with this miner. Looks pretty awesome so far.

Same picture here. Primemeter says something, but does it actually mine? (Almost) everything else is zero.
primemeter   6464834 prime/h  43856034 test/h  1795pps

Do I understand it right, that primecoind has to run in the background with generate=1 or maybe generate=0?
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin Release - First Scientific Computing Cryptocurrency on: July 08, 2013, 11:01:10 PM
I have been mining with about 180 pps since 3 hours after the release (more than 24 hours now) but so far not got a single coin Sad
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin Release - First Scientific Computing Cryptocurrency on: July 07, 2013, 09:51:38 PM
Does anybody know whether it is a good idea to mine from different computers with the same disc image and thus the same wallet? Or will this leed to complications?
137  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: One-click payment browser extension on: May 24, 2013, 05:12:35 PM
Is there any better solution?

I am looking for a an easy-to-use browser extension for Chrome and Firefox which scans websites for BTC-addresses and makes them clickable. After a click one should be able to set an amount and the payment should be send.

Best would be if it supports the Blockchain.info wallet.
138  Economy / Securities / Best platform for a new security? on: May 18, 2013, 12:38:41 PM
Hi,

There are already a lot of different platforms for creating new securities. To name a few:

https://btct.co/
www.litecoinglobal.com
Bitfunder
Cryptostocks
MPex
Havelock
[...]?

What is the best platform to launch a new security right now?
How much does it cost?
How do they all belong together?

Lets compile a list!

I have got my coins back! I apologize in public for my offensive behavior. Doublec seems to be a trustworthy guy!
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How long can BTC-E Stay in Business as a black market company? on: May 18, 2013, 11:52:22 AM
What's wrong with Bulgaria?  They've been advertising in Businessweek for a while now... 10% flat tax, very business friendly, sounds like a good place for a BTC exchange.
Interesting news! I just wonder now why everybody assumed that btc-e was Russian. By the way, bitcoin7 was Bulgarian too.
