121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risk management and responsible gaming on: September 29, 2023, 11:29:35 PM
Governments and several organisations work to encourage responsible gaming. This involves establishing betting restrictions, offering support to those who think they have a gambling problem, and participating in self-exclusion programmes.
Gambling addiction primarily impacts one's ability to make sound financial decisions and may occasionally lead to involvement in criminal activities. However, it generally does not have a direct impact on one's physical health or the overall state of environmental tranquility. Consequently, I believe that government-imposed restrictions and regulations on gambling often serve more as a means of generating revenue rather than genuinely controlling and addressing behavioral issues.
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 7 ways to earn free cryptocurrency on: September 29, 2023, 09:15:35 PM
I strongly oppose the use of the term "free" in reference to cryptocurrency airdrops. You cannot acquire any rewards without some form of activity, whether it's minimal or substantial. While I wouldn't describe it as inexpensive, it certainly isn't free; there's no such thing as a free lunch in this context.
123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you seen gambling advertisements on TV? Opinion. on: September 28, 2023, 10:05:15 PM
I discovered that several factors play a more significant role in initiating the habit of gambling than television and other forms of advertising. These influential factors include the family environment, peer pressure, accessibility, and the personality trait of risk-taking. These proximate factors can exert a strong influence on behavior, much like any other habit that can become addictive.
124  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why most people for naija believe say Bitcoin na scam? on: September 28, 2023, 08:22:27 AM
One of the event that really gave bitcoin some bad image in the rise of crypto Ponzi schemes,  the biggest was MMM bitcoin which took almost billions of naira in Bitcoin,  then many did not understand the concept of Bitcoin so the level at which mmm spread then and when it crashed many of those who bought Bitcoin to invest in mmm no carry the thing for head say they are. Scammed through bitcoin,  not knowing that bitcoin is also a victim like them being used to carry out the crime.

And since Bitcoin transactions are untraceable that make them conclude that holding Bitcoin independently is not worth it since they first encounter with Bitcoin was in a wrong motive and goals but they don't want to accept the truth and face it to learn what they need to to keep themselves secured in the market.
The bias against Bitcoin stemmed from the fact that Nigerian internet fraudsters used it to falsely boast about their income. However, it's important to recognize that Bitcoin doesn't consistently generate profits for traders throughout the year. While some victims of MMM did use Bitcoin, it gained a negative reputation even before the MMM Ponzi scheme, perhaps because it isn't as visible and is often associated with the same internet spaces where many fraudsters operate
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Soil - The First Regulated DeFi in WEB3 on: September 28, 2023, 01:30:57 AM

I am genuinely impressed by the partnership and the support from influencers for Soil Farm on social media, especially on platform X. Notably, Enjinstarte, Poolzfinance, Supercharge, Birdnet, and various prominent launchpads in the crypto space are backing this project. It is undeniable that with such strong support, the project is poised to successfully raise funds and reach its hard cap. Furthermore, it's highly probable that Soil Farm will be listed on major exchanges and experience significant price growth. This project could very well become a key player in the DeFi hype, driving mass adoption.
126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 28, 2023, 01:21:14 AM
I'm unsure if this discussion thread is an appropriate venue to delve into the Carabao Cup. Yesterday witnessed some truly surprising football outcomes in the matches involving Chelsea vs. Brighton and Manchester City vs. Newcastle. Aside from acknowledging Newcastle's presence in the Champions League, it seems plausible that other teams intentionally opted for early exits to alleviate the burden of participating in numerous competitions throughout the season.
127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have any DCA plan on casino on: September 26, 2023, 11:58:03 PM
These signals indicate the onset of a bull market, and I'm somewhat taken aback by its tardiness. This surge is currently evaluating the market, even though the trading volume isn't substantial. Notably, it's happening on the decentralized exchange, Uniswap. Regrettably, I'm unsure about how Uniswap will fare this season in comparison to other decentralized exchanges and top centralized exchanges.
128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do if your country did not legalize cryptocurrency? on: September 26, 2023, 11:51:48 PM
Using a VPN can shield Bitcoin traders from government surveillance. However, the primary obstacle lies in anonymously converting cryptocurrency profits to fiat currency and depositing them in a bank. To overcome this challenge, traders should seek exchanges capable of facilitating peer-to-peer (P2P) fiat transactions. Successfully achieving this can effectively mitigate the impact of government bans.
129  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria Don Passed El Salvador & Odas For Bitcoin in Google Search Engine on: September 26, 2023, 01:11:12 AM

This news is serving as a means of raising awareness, particularly for individuals who are curious about the surge in interest surrounding Bitcoin among Nigerians. The timing and timeframe of this news are significant for those who are just now coming across it. The market is showing signs of a gradual uptrend, driven by strategic adjustments.
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Only good coins are listed on top exchange? on: September 25, 2023, 11:53:53 PM
Must be the best coin to be listed on top exchange. Because a good amount of fund is raised only from tokensale of good coins. And it is possible to manage the listing fee of the top exchange only if a good amount of fund is raised. So attracting investors is the main goal of a project.
There are two key factors to grasp when pondering what distinguishes top exchanges. First, it's important to recognize that their success is attributed to their proficiency in the crypto industry and their ability to generate substantial trading volume. The status of being a top exchange is not solely dependent on the quality of the coins listed; instead, there are instances where top exchanges remove certain coins that no longer attract significant trading activity. Being listed on a top exchange enhances a coin's prospects for long-term success, a fact that has been substantiated over time.
131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 24, 2023, 05:14:25 PM
Draw is a fair result to be honest. It's Saka vs. Son and both parties were lucky in their goals. Too many defensive personal mistakes happened. Nketiah was lucky to finish without red card. The result is acceptable for both teams, their unbeaten series are going on. If we were to list the matches in which it's possible not to get 3 points during the season, both sides would find 1 point in this match acceptable.
Arsenal will face a tough challenge against Manchester City if they aim to win, but it's premature to declare Manchester City as champions. I believe Manchester City might encounter difficulties against these improved teams in the future.
132  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Joe Biden Ok on: September 23, 2023, 07:37:01 PM

Finally, old age can never hold a man back because if there is youthful energy in the mind then he is young even though he is old and the current president is such a person.

Old age does cause laspes in administration especially the countries image in public. Apart from laxity in policy formulation and implementation, the presence of a president in public with audacity speaks volume. We can't compare Biden's public appearance to that of Obama, triumph is also better IMO. I watched Biden today whilst giving support to Ukrainian president, (zelensky), he was looking frail to me. So in real terms, there is no youthful age in the mind that the body is already weak.
If a president is advanced in age or their health is compromised to the extent that they cannot effectively lead a country like the USA, they should consider stepping down. It is important to recognize that there are numerous capable individuals within the country who can effectively lead the nation. It is unfortunate that many countries worldwide are led by elderly and frail leaders when there are younger and more capable individuals available. The current state of politics in recent times is concerning due to its perceived lack of wisdom and effectiveness.
133  Economy / Economics / Re: The impact of war on global economy. on: September 23, 2023, 06:18:49 PM
1. Increase in the national GDP is least likely to be caused by a war.
2. Oil is considered the most crucial resource in modern warfare.
3. War affects the stock market by causing a decline in stock prices.

What do you guys think? Is this true or false?

1. Warfare represents a disruptive force that impacts all key components contributing to Gross Domestic Product: labor, capital, and land. The power supply was disrupted during the conflict in Ukraine, leading to significant disruptions in domestic production processes.

2. While oil may not be the most critical resource, there has been no viable substitute for its profound economic influence worldwide. It continues to wield substantial sway over a significant portion of the global economy.

135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] 1st Ever Crypto Search Engine Built & Powered By Bitfinder Algorithm on: August 08, 2023, 12:28:41 PM
I want to express a cautious perspective, but it's worth noting that the concept of combining a search engine with cryptocurrency isn't entirely new. There have been previous attempts that didn't succeed as intended. However, in order to build confidence in the potential of this endeavor, it's essential to demonstrate its greatness. This can be achieved through a reliable and credible team behind the project, along with a clear vision that extends into the next two decades, showcasing its long-term viability.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What altcoins do you think are currently still cheap but have good potential for on: July 30, 2023, 11:33:19 PM
ETH and BNB. yes this altcoin looks expensive at the moment, but in the future you will realize that the current ETH and BNB prices are very cheap.
talking about future potential is beyond doubt as ETH is the king of altcoins and BNB is backed by binance.

BNB remains a top-performing coin, capable of outperforming the marketcap both during bullish trends and beyond. Its potential for significant gains makes it a strong contender at any time.
137  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What should P2P on centralized exchanges should be called? on: July 30, 2023, 11:50:44 AM
The centralized exchange plays a crucial role as an escrow service, securely holding both cryptocurrency and fiat currency from both parties to facilitate trustworthy transactions. In contrast, decentralized exchanges face challenges, particularly in peer-to-peer transactions involving fiat from banks. Nevertheless, the centralized exchange fulfills its purpose effectively, and I am satisfied with its performance.
138  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do exchanges impact the performance of newly listed token? on: July 29, 2023, 07:11:24 PM
In my personal view, social media plays a significant role in the cryptocurrency world, second only to exchanges. The wealthiest individuals in cryptocurrency are often exchange owners due to the influence they hold. Manipulative activities are often associated with social media, and being listed on top exchanges can overshadow the need for a coin to have practical use cases. For instance, SONM, a project on Binance whose team has left, continues to generate profits for holders solely because Binance chose to retain it. This illustrates the crucial role that exchanges play at the core of the cryptocurrency space
139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Saylor ever sell? on: July 28, 2023, 10:32:48 PM
I am skeptical about Saylor's actions and find it hard to trust his purchase without concrete evidence. The lack of evidence makes it seem like a manipulative market strategy. It's difficult to believe that such a significant investment, after experiencing substantial losses, hasn't faced a strong reaction from other investors. I am concerned about the potential impact on the market if this sale is not handled properly, given its size
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP - why no major pump? What to expect now? on: July 28, 2023, 12:34:57 PM
Following the successful court case victory in July, there hasn't been a substantial price pump. However, there has been a tremendous surge in developments related to coin adoption and trading in the cryptocurrency and other financial markets. Numerous exchanges have relisted Ripple, and several governments are displaying strong support for trading, making it incredibly promising news for those currently accumulating assets.
