Updated to hashra controla 1.33 but I can access anymore to the web interface nor ping the raspberry, seems having some issues with the DHCP...anyone have experienced it?

I am located in EU, so please advice too  Try www.HASHRA.ComThey ship to anywhere in the world for free! no good to buy from HASHRA if you're in Europe, you will have massive Customs fee to pay as they do not ship from Europe. From Hasra website : "All shipments are marked as "Computer Hardware, ASIC Processor with Heat-sink and Fan Cool Unit". You are responsible for paying any processing fees, import fees or duty, taxes or VAT into your country. We do not offer collection of the machine from our premises, all shipments are sent directly to you." and I can tell you we get Slaughtered in Europe with customs, plus it's a real hassle to get it out of customs in the first place, I made the experience when I bought 1 gridseed in HK Hashra have good prices but indeed you have to pay the custom taxes if you are in EU, In Italy are about 24% of the declared price, not sure if are different in other EU countries |

metti che io abbia il magazzino e 50kw , ma senza fonti alternative di corrente ? Bisogna far ei conti della corrente oppure andare avanti di pari passo con l'integrazione di pannelli solari.. si possono comprare anche quelli (e producono profitto)! ! questa e' una cosa che mi chiedono spesso... fare un 50kw di pannelli ( a parte che non ho spazio per i pannelli ma vabe' ) costerebbe qualcosa di inimmaginabile , anche pensando in piccolo , 3 kwh ( li ho a casa ) , producono ( se lo spirito santo scende direttamente sui pannelli ) 3000kwh all'anno , rivendendo all'enel sono 3000*0.1 = 300E l'anno , nel caso li utilizzi per il mining invece mi produrrebbero un risparmio di circa ( mettiamo di pagare 30cent al kwh ) = 900E l'impianto ad essere ottimisti ne costa piu' di 5000 , dovrei prevedere che l'attivita' duri oltre 5 anni ... impossibile. Perchè (salvo rare eccezioni) i pannelli che ti rifilano le imprese italiane oltre ad avere prezzi decisamente fuori mercato difficilmente sono di fattura recente e di conseguenza raramente hanno un efficienza decente (difficile trovare >16%) , per questo se si vuole avere un buon rapporto prezzo/efficienza bisogna costruirseli o rivolgersi altrove. Inoltre i pannelli solari sono solo la prima strada verso l'indipendenza energetica, con un minimo di competenza solo sul solare si posso ottenere ben altri risultati. Un esempio è quello di combinare un paraboloide motorizzato con superficie fotovoltaica e motore stirling sul fuoco. Per favore , quantifica se puoi. Se se ne accorgono "col caxxo" che ti tengono fuori dalle sbarre Mica è illegale, se fatto apposta. Il concetto è, se fai l'impianto con allaccio all'enel, puoi usare le detrazioni fiscali e hai quindi degli "sconti" molto alti, se lo fai da completo autonomo (pannelli -> batterie -> inverter -> rete tua) e al piu usi un caricabatterie per prendere all'enel solo nel caso non ce la fai e hai le batterie a piedi.... non puoi usare le detrazioni ma è legale. Se poi fai le detrazioni dichiarando l'allaccio all'enel e non lo fai.. è diverso  Che sappia io non è assolutamente legale, sempre che tu non abbia un' azienda di produzione elettrica, anche per il solo uso personale. FaSan No sono perfettamente legali (e ci mancherebbe altro!) anche se ovviamente ci sono delle normative di carattere tecnico da rispettare e vanno in alcuni casi omologati. Sono classificati come impianti fotovoltaici a isola (o stand alone ) , un tempo erano anche parzialmente incentivati Si questo è esatto, ma di norma vengono autorizzati/omologati in casi limite, dove cioè non arriva (o non è possibile) usare il servizio nazionale (per esempio sulle barche, baite in alta montagna, isolette, ecc ecc). FaSan In realtà può essere una "zona grigia" perchè ci sono condizioni differenti da regione a regione, ma è fattibile. Un mio conoscente nel 2009 voleva installare un impianto ibrido ( stand-alone -> grid ) nella sua casa in campagna ma dato che esisteva già l'allaccio dell'enel non era legalmente possibile collegarli assieme. Ovvero avrebbe potuto installare lo stand-alone ma non collegarlo alla grid perchè non si deve immettere nella rete del gestore. La soluzione sarebbe stata creare due impianti indipendenti e non comunicanti tra di loro, oppure studiare un sistema per commutare alla bisogna l'impianto enel disabilitando prima lo stand-alone. Alla fine installò un fotovoltaico in-grid per semplificare il tutto ma di fatto non vi è divieto nemmeno a non usare la rete del gestore se già presente |

Uno dei vantaggi di realizzare una mining farm è la sua quasi completa scalabilità...3 o 30KW , cantina o datacenter basta prendere la calcolatrice e farsi i propri conti.
Personalmente ( sogno utopico ) se avessi un locale indipendente comprerei in cina in quantità le celle monomorfe 6x6 con efficienza del 20%, mi costruirei i pannelli necessari (col cazzo che compro i pannelli legacy che rifilano qua in Italia a prezzi astronomici! ) e poi allocherei lo spazio per fare un locale batterie. (col caxxo che rivendo la corrente all'enel! )

Ovviamente non va menzionato il concetto del mining, non gliene deve fregare niente quello che fai con le macchine.
La tua attività può essere considerata simile quella del provider, hai bisogno di determinato hardware per fornire un servizio sul panorama web...sta a te poi creare l'infrastruttura adeguata per effettivamente erogare il servizio
Il servizio può essere ovviamente il rent delle macchine ( a chi vuole minare) o altri utilizzi concreti che posso essere realizionati con l'hardware usato (ovviamente vanno messi in pratica)
E da parecchio che rifletto su una possibile startup di questo genere...sempre alla ricerca di un team locale (dev,creativi,sistemisti) con cui inizare a intavolare qualcosa.

Hello. I tested the results of my mods overnight and, so far so good! I decided a couple days ago to go ahead and try modding one of my pods. I made the first mod which is to jump the two resistors as shown with the yellow stripes. Done deal. I got a bit better performance out of it @ 900MHz and 950Mhz but still pulled a red nonce every once in a while and at times they would fill the window (cpuminer) for a short birst then go away. I thought "how strange, what is causing this? Could it be a timing issue?" Bingo! The guy who did the mods and had his GS5 running at between 1000 and 1100MHz stable but with a few red nonce's gave me the tip... I thought, let me try the pencil mod. So I tried lowering the PLL voltage first to around 1.01V. Seemed to stabilize running at 950MHz so well that I only saw a red nonce every great once in a while over an hour or so of operation where before it was about 3 times as much. Okay, so changing the resistor was next. I changed out the 36K for a 38K 5% resistor. BINGO! Now I have stable 'no red nonce' operation at 1000MHz!... It's been running stably for over an hour now with ZERO red nonce's! Perfect! I'm going to let it run overnight and see how things are in the morning. I have a good feeling this is the trick I was looking for. Thanks to the author of this mod! I'll save further congrats for later on if I see stable operation over time. Oh and one other thing. I decided to go ahead and test my theory that lowering the voltage of the cooling fan to 5V was not a good idea due to the usual problems associated with magnetic DC motors. I guess the drive electronics of DC fan motors has come a long way since I last farted around with them years ago. I'm driving it with 5V now without any problems so far. Runs just fast enough to keep air moving at a good enough rate to keep the unit cool to the touch! I mean below 90*F. More like 79^ to 81* currently. And man, it is quiet! Music to my ears! The pod was cooking at 115 to 120*F at 1000MHz which is understandable. That's crankin, for this little bugger! Not running hotter or pulling more current like I thought it would, at all. Sorry for scaring some of you guys out of trying it but I guess I get to make up for it by risking burning up my fan etc. I'll let you know how that went overnight too. I will also attempt to run it off of the 5V USB power next and see if it screws anything up comm wise or power wise. It's pulling less than 75mA running. Pulls 140mA start up for a quick second before it calms back down. I think it would be easy enough for most folks who end up doing this mod, provided mine works out okay, will be able to compensate for the additional load it puts on USB power. But it's a short cut method I really don't recommend in general. One should use a voltage regulator to drop from 12V to 5V. There is more headroom on that rail too in most cases. Today I'm going to monitor the performance of my 1000MHz hasher for stability and expected increase in pool results as well as connect the fan to the 5V rail of the USB port and see if it causes any problems. I don't think it will but if worse comes to worse, I'll use a 7805 voltage regulator to drop to supply the 5V from the 12V rail. Onward! Peace Wolfey2014 I'm pondering about the voltage regulator...since the 7805 is a bit outdated and there's little space I'm considering the LM2940 in a SOT223 package. It have the same 7805 pinout but a lower voltage drop ( 500mV ) and it's more efficient. The TO-263 seems perfect to fit in the original fan pins on the pcb ( 2.3mm pin to pin ) |

Have a question...would it be possible to inline a small power switch to the black fan wire? I was thinking of inlining this switch on the black fan wire so that I can turn the fan on/off as needed. https://www.sparkfun.com/products/9609Thoughts? Yes there's no problem with it, except that you need to safely isolate the switch pins since they will lie near or in contact with the aluminium fins What about a lump of hot glue on solder points to prevent contact with the heat sink? Could be an easy fix but keep in mind that hot glue over 45-50°C start to get soft...if the miner reach that temp could melt the glue |

So, how exactly do you remove the fan wiring? Did you just cut the wires, or de-solder? What's the best approach? Obviously it's better to desolder the wire, you can sold back again when you want to use the fans or sell the gridseed. If you are in hurry you can cut the positive, but instead of leave the two end isolated connect them to a switch |
