121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale strategy in casinos on: April 23, 2023, 07:54:21 AM

Well, $1000 is a pretty large amount for a starting bet, and only high rollers will do that, but you are right that if a person is using martingale strategy to cover their losses, they will eventually reach the end of their bankroll if they get a loss streak higher than they were expecting and it actually happens and I say that because I've experienced it.

I used to use martingale strategy in my initial days of gambling when Stake was first launched, it actually works a couple of times and then you become confident and do it again, but then, the house edge hits you pretty hard and you lose everything in a matter of minutes.

Chasing losses and martingale sounds the same to me, you are chasing your previous losses until nothing is left, and the house edge comes in at unexpected times, the highest amount I've spent in a martingale was $300 and but that amount was not safe even in the lowest bet because streak could go over 20, I stopped using it, it's just not worth it.
better do selective martingale or random it's more exciting and surprising using these two methods, but don't expect to win just have fun.

This is what you call a well-orchestrated scam by meme coin, they know shilling, they know market manipulation and they know their prospects, they know how to instill FOMO in newbie investors and most of the time they succeeded and this meme coin is just one of them.
I stopped investing in this meme and hype coins I have bags of these sitting in my wallet and it's just so annoying you invest because of FOMO and now you can't sell it.
As long as there are people who cannot differentiate FOMO from a legit project, we'll see more shitcoins in the market, it's a cycle that never stops.
124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: April 22, 2023, 10:24:41 PM

From forum users/gamblers, they are rooting for Tank here, as well as bookies favoring Davis.
We don't know what kind of performance they will show inside the ring but it is indeed a legacy fight for both.
As Garcia knows the sentiments of the boxing community, this can very well give him good reason to prepare hard on this fight.
He already skipped a tune-up fight, so more than likely, he is seriously preparing on this one.
But of course, we can't disregard Davis' preparation. It is now how they will use their training inside the ring.

If you're a boxing fan you can easily relate, to who is a better fighter, Gervonta has 12 title fights and is a three-division weight Champion, something Ryan does not have and wanting to be, he is calling out Gervonta for years because Tank is achieving a lot and not avoiding fighters, even Tyson thinks that Tank can beat Ryan.
When it comes to boxing, the chin and ability to take punches are very important, imagine Ryan getting a knock down from a fighter who's not known to have a knockout power, it tells how bad your chin is, Tank will go for the chin, it is Ryan's vulnerable part.
125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: April 22, 2023, 09:44:42 PM

This is an exhibition fight, so they want more sales on this fight. Their pockets will be better if more people will watch their fight.
But they should remember to stay out of trouble, or they will jeopardize their fight if they incur long-lasting injuries.

I thought Jake Paul has a dream and intention to challenge the top contenders in his weight category, he should stop fighting old MMA fighters, it's been proven that MMA fighters are not good in boxing, after the Fury fight he should go for professional fighters, with this fight he is not really serious and he just wants money and attention, because if he is going to challenge an unpopular real boxer, it will not attract ticket sales, so he wants popular MMA fighters because of their followers and media coverage.
126  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you ever be afraid of holding? on: April 22, 2023, 12:31:06 PM
Long term investors are the real investors, is not easy to hold watch your money going down by the day, people who buy occasionally during deeps and store don't usually calculate current price action  because they are after the future. Characters of holding includes not checking or bordering about daily price, not minding the reductions or increase in price, they're after accumulating more of bitcoins in units or fractions, not regular negative news listeners, and they barely tells if they've loss a lot from the system, finally they're very patients enough to wait for recovery and overflows in price.

Have you also have that fears before? Is holding for too long OK?

Those who can do this have invested what they can afford to lose, let's admit it the market is highly volatile its hard to invest your savings here because of uncertainty, the market sometimes suffers from FUDS so if you're not really decided to HODL you will be tempted to sell at a loss, and most of the times the long wait is unbearable.
I also admire those who invested here and HODL whatever the condition of the market honestly I fear whenever the market is dropping because that means I have to wait long before the market gets better and during that time I might need money for my daily or emergency needs.
How I wish I have a good-paying job or a good business so I can also accumulate without thinking of selling when I badly need funds.

127  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me in choosing wallet before I make mistake on: April 21, 2023, 11:37:58 PM
Scam is everywhere, I fear for my money. They say the person who ask for help does not make a mistake. I want to own my first Bitcoin next week when my monthly salary is paid but afraid of jumping on any wallet to avoid losing my money.

The popular choices I know and hear from people are Binance, Blockchain and Freewallet. Which one should I choose? I am just starting my bitcoin owning journey and it will be kind of the senior guys to show the way.

You can suggest better ones if there are any.

Prefer a noncustodial wallet where you have control of the private key, do not let these exchanges, and avoid wallets that claim to be custodial but had a bad reputation in the industry, the perfect choice for this is Exodus and Electrum read and watch videos about these two noncustodial wallets but the most important thing is educating yourself on how to protect yourself from scammers and hackers and securing your wallets.
Good luck on your Bitcoin journey I hope your journey is smooth and you learn how to secure your portfolio you did the right asking the community first.
128  Economy / Gambling / Re: A reminder for gamblers to avoid FortuneJack (ongoing lawsuit, 120k usd stolen) on: April 21, 2023, 11:01:09 PM

Edit: For some stupid people posting here, saying this is FUD, go ask FortuneJack if no legal procedure is going against them. If not, ask them if they paid me already or not (with interest for being about 2 years late on payment). I am not giving any evidence, nor am I giving any details.

Unfortunately for you, by not showing anything or giving details we are going to treat this thread as another FUD, it's unlikely Fortunejack going to respond here they will choose to ignore it even if there is a court proceeding going on since they are the defendant.
Good luck with your case I cannot blame you for going through all of this, it is such a huge amount, and only the result of the case will prove if you did the right thing, that is if you really file a case in court.
129  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: April 21, 2023, 02:05:03 AM
Have you heard of Superpicks on DSTV? where you can make predictions and win money without staking your money?

if you have not, check it out. Superpicks.com

My question is can it still be called gambling if it is not played with money?

You need money to gamble if there's money involved then it's just a game it's safe and you don't have to chase your losses and there's no reason for you to feel depressed, depression of losing money is attached to losing in gambling, you are not losing anything only your time, so there's no reason to treat it as gambling.
But this will gauge your character and your betting skill that will eventually lead you to gamble, so it's not gambling but a training ground for you to eventually gamble.
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are Meme Coins? on: April 20, 2023, 01:54:04 PM
My opinion is Meme coins are crypto assets inspired by memes and other viral online images. Although they operate similarly to other cryptocurrencies, they often exist solely to capitalize on momentum and have no clear purpose, their prices tend to be volatile and their success is often determined by the virality and support of the online community.

To sum it up, you will eventually lose money investing in these memes, it all started with Elon, Dogecoin is nothing without Elon, and since he still supporting Dogecoin until this time, developers create hype on meme coins we are now in the meme coin period and these will stay as long as Elon support the very first meme.
I don't see the meme period being permanent, there will be a point where Elon will discard Dogecoin and it will eventually collapse the meme coins, just like all the hype coins in the past.
Hype coins are not permanent, because they are not bringing usage and innovation to the industry, and any coin that is without these two is bound to become a dead coin.
131  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Who is Bitcoin.org on: April 20, 2023, 12:16:07 PM
The person who called me claims that they can send me money that I had invested in an online trading platform that was found to be fraudulent and was subsequently shutdown.  This person claims that my funds will be sent without me making a payment to them until after I have received my funds.

Did you invest in any online trading platform if you did not then just ignore them they are fishing for a potential victims, but if you did then there's a possible leak of data.
Bitcoin.org is not a regulatory website, it's an information website, there's nothing on their website that says they have control over any trading platform, obviously, they have an attempt to scam you, don't be greedy to fall to their scheme, you're wiser than this.
132  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM WARNING] TheTopSpotOnline Plagiarized Whitepaper on: April 20, 2023, 05:18:11 AM
Great effort, thank you.
Unfortunately, a lot of this nonsense has gone around lately, these are really stupid scammers if they don't even know how to write a white paper!!! How can they deceive users!!!
The whitepaper is the hardest part because it's the conceptualization of the project or platform it embodies the whole idea, how t work, and what it tries to resolve, these scammers really don't have anything because they have nothing so they have to copy-paste or hire people to come out with the idea, so to bust scam ICO we just have to look for their whitepaper

Quote
This is obvious stupidity, at least if they want to deceive people, they should write the white paper for the project in a professional way that attracts users!!! But they steal the white paper from other projects, this is the biggest stupidity in deception.!!!
They don't know this thing, they don't even know that there is a scam section here because they don't research, only  a real project with a dedicated team can come out with a real and original whitepaper.
133  Economy / Reputation / Re: Jr BM asking for 300 positive comment in his service thread via bounty campaign. on: April 19, 2023, 08:51:45 PM

134  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Participating in Mixer Signature Campaign on: April 18, 2023, 11:03:18 PM
I just hope the mixer campaign last long Cheesy

The mixing business is here to stay the authorities cannot make it disappear, there is a dark web where they can freely promote and on advertising here on Bitcointalk so much depends on when authorities start looking on platforms where they are being advertised, and how the forum admin accept these platforms to have a space here in Bitcointalk.
Chipmixer started it all and all the other mixing platforms existing now are just following the thread Chipmixer laid out.
135  Economy / Gambling / Re: Anyone remember trueflip.io casino? on: April 18, 2023, 09:23:46 PM
It's pretty hard to believe that this online casino is still working, and I am not ready to find that out because it's been years since they last updated their announcement thread on this forum, I am seeing 2021 and we are in 2023, if I were you I would stay away from a such online casino, something is wrong with this platform no doubt, if you refuse my advice and make a deposit on the platform there will be no one to come to your rescue.

The last comment on the announcement thread said they try reaching out to customer service and they got no reply, this says a lot if you know what's good for you stay away.

That's not a good way for the last post on their announcement thread but there's no new scam report in the scam section still I prefer playing in casinos that are active in this community for reputation concern, the announcement thread is doing great, there are a lot of good things coming based on the representative series of posts but failed to follow it up or updates to the community.
They have no bad reputation here like 1XBIT so they can still come back and continue posting about their promos and their casino's activity, and the community will welcome them back.
136  Economy / Gambling / Re: $100 to $2519 on Strikebits.com today! on: April 18, 2023, 01:58:55 PM

OP might be telling the truth that he is not related to the website because everyone here is doubting him for promoting the casino without having an ANN while the casino has asked him to post a review in any forum and OP chose this one himself.

His mistake is one, he did not post his transaction withdrawal he can just covered the address, we just want the time stamp of the withdrawal and second he did not check the forum if what he is going to do is acceptable to the community, I have doubt on the amount until he posts he transaction id here.
Without this, this is just shilling a casino.
If it's coming from a reputable casino here we have no problem with it and we'll not question it, but not one coming from an unknown casino.

Trust, really. It's the only thing. One way you can build with reputation and longevity. CM did perhaps get accelerated recognition -- really smart actually, by simply aligning itself with reputable members and campaign managers.
With how they brand themselves here in Bitcointalk they could have gone promoting their platform here for a very long time, their signature campaign is every poster's aspirations here in Bitcoin, if you're part of the campaign you are considered part of the elite.

Quote
But I think people overlook that they introduced an innovation that hadn't been thought of in years.
That innovation will stay and have been will be adopted by other mixing platforms there will be more coming soon the
the gap is up for grabs

Quote
6 years later and no mixer's come up with something new (feel free to prove me wrong, I would love to know).
Maybe with all the new mixing coming up one of them will come out with a new innovation to break the competition in their favor.
140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can this be effective against the increasing numbers of gamblers? on: April 15, 2023, 03:25:10 PM
Quote

The Premier League have confirmed clubs have voluntarily agreed to remove gambling sponsors from the front of their matchday shirts from the start of the 2025/26 season.

This is a move to try to reduce promotion of gambling in the premier league with it's increasing audience, do you think it can successfully reduce the number of people who gamble? What do you think? Will these gambling platforms not just move to other sports, do you think other sports that wear their sponsors name in England will adopt this new development in the premier league?

No way it can reduce the number of gamblers playing gamblers will continue to gamble because of the habit,  but it can reduce the number of new people joining casinos, when a country has no restriction on gambling with or without marketing ads, gamblers will gamble, those ads serve those who gamble and prefer to return gambling when there are promotional giveaways or bonuses.
Based on the article it's only on the front of the shirt but sleeves gambling sponsorship is still allowed.
