Meet new ICO on BB Platform.
...

...  Find "SilentNotary ICO" bot in the Bot Store, you can buy SNTR tokens with Bytes, BTC, or Ether.

I can't find the new bot in the Bot store. Is it only me?

could be wrong about this, but maybe you need to do ID Verification first?
I haven't tried yet. but here is from the SNTR website

Open your ByteBall Wallet
Go to Chat  Bot Store  SilentNotary ICO
Start chat with the SilentNotary ICO bot  Send the required amout of GBYTES, BTC, ETH to buy SilentNotary tokens
Get your SilentNotary tokens instantly

https://silentnotary.com/mobile.html

I am verified with Jumio.  The SilentNotary ICO bot is not listed on my Bot Store  Huh

If you use an alternative hub, you might have to wait that its operator applies the update.

Is it a joke or did Bosch really invest into Byteball as well? I am wondering because I am from Germany and media would have covered another investment of such a big company in crypto domain but there weren't news anywhere. Or did I just miss it?  Roll Eyes

so much news that IOTA lands another partner BOSCH,

but check this out,
https://twitter.com/markdeberg/status/963152682671394816

IOTA have good marketing but BYTEBALL have the working products, so BYTEBALL will crush other dag coins easily.

No partnership with Bosh as far as I know. But lately there was a partnership announced about IoT: https://medium.com/@connax_io/connax-partners-with-one-of-the-worlds-most-promising-cryptocurrencies-byteball-39b8d32ccb86

bad,  bad idea. $12 net income may be attractive to the lowest social stratum in crypto community, consisting of the poor and unemployed.  They will dump it at once and forget about Byteball. Decent ppl who may support platform will never tag identity. Very displeased indeed.

I won't comment your social racism but what you call highest social stratum already got a lot of GB through airdrop so everything is fine. And it's easy to create 2 wallets on the same device, one with an attested profile and one anonymous.
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: January 15, 2018, 10:53:43 PM
There are 2,1 million GBB to 1 million GB, so about double. IMO they are severely undervalued.

i think they're doomed to remain forever a curio unless there's an easier way of handling and buying and selling them. future users will not be crypto purists. they're looking for ease and utility. they'll go straight for other options that offer them that even if it's detrimental to the actual purpose.

Don't get it, if you have already aquired GB to your wallet it is an extremely simple procedure to buy some GBB.
I think the real obstacle for BlackBytes is that the way you need to back up your wallet every time you send or receive BlackBytes most people would want something much simpler where there is not back up required, not sure if it can programmatically changed in the future so not back up required when sending or receiving BlackBytes ,Tonych is a talented Dev i am sure there must something can be done about it

You can set-up a multidevice wallet, then your private informations about your Blackbytes will be replicated on multiple devices after every payments.

Many thanks for the answer.

I have another question: In the comparison there is 30 second of maximum (theoretical) time for confirmation. However some say, that currently it takes longer, 1-2 minutes or even more. Is it possible to reduce the time in the future?

To get your transaction confirmed, you need that a majority of witnesses post a transaction after yours. Since the witnesses also pay fees for their transactions, they need to wait that enough transactions has been posted for collecting enough fees in order to not lose money. That's why the network isn't working at full speed yet, confirmation time will become better along with number of transactions increases.

Guys,

does anybody knows what is the Byteball transaction limit? In accordance to this comparison (https://www.guidetocrypto.com/investing/byteball-vs-iota-vs-raiblocks-directed-acyclic-graph-dac-coin-comparison/) the current limit is 20-30 TPS. Is that right?

It is right but it doesn't mean anything about Byteball scalabilty. For now, byteball-core is coded in a clear and simple manner to be robust and easily understood by new devs. When needed, it will be possible to optimize the code base to increase performance in term of TPS. There is no architectural limit with DAG.

Hi All,

Newbie on Forum = YES!
Crypto < 6 months Byteball < 2 months.

Wanted to post that since stumbling across ByteBall I have fallen for it, spread the word to my friends & family by donating some bytes and managed to get a few of them on board while a few others need more time Smiley We get involved sending money to eachother, chatting and using the bots.

I had a few questions in regards to the project. I work as a securities trader and the CFD trading bot has really caught my eye. ( yes i know how much all of you hate banks/corporations but it all needs to start somewhere).
My questions were:
are we expecting to see more cryptos to trade CFDs vs BB?
are we likely to see a CFD platform on financial products / indices / commodities  vs BB or fiat and the payout would be in BB?

Also, for my betting if the specific bet is on Bettingbot i will certainly go through there otherwise just use my own betting site.
What is the capacity here in growing out the markets for each betting event (Over x goals, under x points)? I know there's a way to make the contract yourself ( Haven't had the time to explore this due to my time constraint) but adding this to the BettingBot would be super cool  Grin

I understand with the amount of work ongoing and all the avenues being explored this isn't on the priority list but just a thought.

Overall, love the project.

Peace

I'm the dev and operator of these 2 chatbots, I'm glad you like them !

Currently the CFD-trading bot takes coverage by selling/buying on Bittrex with my own holdings, as you can guess I don't hold much cryptos thus the choice is limited. In the future, we can imagine a lending market but for now I prefer to be responsible only for my own money.
I thought about introducing stock indices but the problem is that the financial coverage would need a conversion to fiat which would trigger a fiscal event for me (and I live in a fiscal evil...).

About the betting-bot I want to keep them as simple as possible for now, I don't want to confuse players with kinds of bets that are not common in their country.

A technical question: if I have a multi-signature wallet, do I need to point all devices to same hub?

No, they can be on diffferent hubs.
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: January 12, 2018, 05:26:16 PM

so why caring about marketing all the time?
I don't. Just saying, that the fact that blockhain whin unique consensus will soon disapear  from the 1st cmc page is crazy.

Just saying, we're soon back in top 50.

Any updates? How it the lottery going?

There are people playing with it everyday from what I can see.
As for the Byteball betting bot: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2426532.0

I read the OP with the instructions on future distributions - so just to clarify.

I have GBytes currently held on an exchange and my BTC on a hardware wallet.

To participate - I just need to download one of the wallets and also the chat-bot and follow the instructions and that's it?

I would need to send a micropayment (or sign a message from my wallet) to the address specificed by the bot and also transfer my Gbytes from ex to wallet.

Is the signing of the message safter than sending a micropayment? And just to clarify - after we send the micropayment, we can send it back to our wallet right?

After this is all done - we just wait until the next round and the Gbytes and Blackbytes will be automatically airdropped to our wallet?

The micropayment isn't returned, better use message signature. For the rest you've well understood.
For security, I would advise to set-up a multidevice wallet with at least 2 cosigners required.

Does anyone know step by step how I would upgrade to the newest version of Byteball on Linux Mint? I've downloaded the newest version but can't figure out what to do from here.

You got a folder called byteball-linux64 somewhere, replace it with the new version after extraction. You wallet data are stored elsewhere in yourhome/.config/byteball.

Hi!

I've found that Byteball chat is very cool and working like charm, but wondering that is the Byteball chat encrypted or not?

Also would love to know that is TOR option going to be in Android wallet anytime soon?

Thanks in advance!

The chat is encrypted end-to-end.
It seems to me that TOR was removed from Android app, I don't remember why.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: December 24, 2017, 11:02:06 AM

On a side note: would it technically be possible to send Blackbytes in the same way? I know it's a bit complicated, the 12 words would need some Bytes for the fee too, but it would be a great way to use very anonymous Blackbytes if they can be sent by text-message!

It's not possible since additionnal information are needed to transfer Blackbytes, these are usually transmitted privately between 2 paired devices.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: December 15, 2017, 09:04:01 AM
I like this project very much but I do not understand why there is only 12 witnesses. 7 people can very easily collude or get captured and then the network is basically dead. Why not more?

Cause otherwise nobody would have time to check and select seriously the witnesses, it's explained in whitepaper. Look at what is happening on Lisk or other DPoS coin, selection of delegates is a complete mess, nobody knows who is who anymore. Better have 12 reliable witnesses than hundred of randomly chosen ones.
And no, 7 people out of 12 can't easily collude and it's always possible for anybody running a full node to check if witnesses behave correctly.

One question guys. The whole chain/dag is saved/stored in MySQL/SQLite ?

On a full wallet, yes.

Hi I am new to Byteball and hear because it looks like best of DAG and is actually functional. I am about to try sending through the alternative crypto to byte bot and after I do so I am wondering what is the best way to secure my coins? I see a paper wallet import but dont know how to export private keys or secure it by any other means. Can someone help me while I get myself acquainted?

You could create 2 multisig wallets on 2 different devices with a 1-2 rule. So if you lose one of the 2 devices, the other can still manage your bytes.

Ok but if computer crashes and I lose my phone then im SOL? The idea of having something on paper or usb I can restore from is really appealing to me if Im gonna take a position in a crypto.

edit: Im unsure if this difference in extra security available by downloading full desktop client?

Also, could someone tell me the current DAG size so I know what to expect?

You don't need full client.
For security, write down the seeds of your wallets. They are sufficient to recover any bytes that are not stored on a smart-contract.

There are a lot of options but many are charging 40% premium on the coinmarketcap price.   Bittrex doesn't work.  The daily volume on the other 2 exchanges is about the amount I want to buy therefore not really feasible.
Can you make a suggestion

There are some bots running on cryptox.pl, they fill with new sell orders while you're buying them.

Wow. We are going to be able to send bytes by email in the next release?  Shocked
What makes you think so?

It was announced by Tony in Amsterdam.
