121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Cryptocurrency Stand Without Bitcoin? on: August 15, 2018, 02:41:35 AM
Every economy has some form of 'money' - if the future calls for blockchain to the backbones of the system then that system will need it's monetary power: Bitcoin.

122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS or ETH, which one is preferable?? on: August 15, 2018, 02:39:32 AM
EOS has been called the ETH killer.

The mainnet process was rough and I think it has a lot of growing to do. However, ETH has some rough spots.
Some of us were fine with ETC. Wink
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Litecoin still a good investment? on: August 15, 2018, 02:36:30 AM
LTC is the silver, BTC is the gold. So yes, it's still worth investing regardless of what anyone else says. I'll choose it over Btrash at any given time as well.

This post is solid gold with a silver lining.

How do we get it listed on Cryptopia?

they charging crazy listing fee https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Paytopia
we don't have any ICOs or auction to cover such expenses at this time)

Wow, it's not Binance but that's crazy.

60K + for  "Consideration" of being listed. "Listing subject to developer review."

5200000 Dotcoin = 60121.44 US Dollar (USD)
Date (today): 15. August 2018 02:22 AM (GMT)

Any idea of listing fees on Mercatox?
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [LEMON] LemonCoin - Argon2 coin done right on: August 15, 2018, 02:19:41 AM
I don't want to see this coin turn into LMC - the 'true' "Lemon" lemoncoin. It's been dead pretty much since 2014.
They had set up lemoncoin.org but now it's empty. They've got a hidden whois on the .org but it is run on godaddy.com.
Lemon.com and Lemon.io both seem to be available, "@WithTheLemons!".

LEMON is still on Cryptopia so not all is lost. With the halvening and the slow response from dev we need some momentum back on this project.

Anyone have an idea on how to do so? I wouldn't take much to get some value back into this blockchain.

If it indeed follows the possible bitcoin spike due to global market volatility then we could see spikes as high as before or more.  Smiley

I'd be happy with 0.01usd/LEMON. It rested there for a while and it wasn't even that long ago. The whole altcoin market is suffering but it seems like the time to not panic, but get in and hodl.

Hi,

I could be wrong, but i think this coin is being mined by 1 or 2 individuals who probably have access to  cheap servers, and are keeping the hash so high so they get all the coins...less than 9 months ago, this coin was easily mineable with just the wallet and 4-8 threads....since they jumped in, even with a 1800X OC'd lucky to mine 5-10 blocks a day, which now at 5 coin is frankly pathetic.

To me the only solution i see is for some to open a pool...but like i say i think a couple of indivuiduals are screwing this for everyone else. Heck i used to mine it with less than 1KH/s and get 10 times the blocks i do now.
As for the price, i think it will slowly tank, i see 10 sats in the future but probably will sit at that for months....other thing to watch is if cryptopia get bored, i can see it going on a delist list soon, if the trades dont pick up....
J
That's unfortunate. I've suggested the idea before of taking the script from a few of the pools that existed before but I'm not sure if they are cloneable or as you said if that would even benefit the project if there are a few huge server miners out there bending the network.
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ARO] | Arionum | CPU+GPU+Masternode | PHP Based |Decentralized Revolution on: August 15, 2018, 02:15:45 AM

The hard fork has been successfully implemented. It has been a bumpy ride but it's now finished and everything is working as expected. Our initial plan to create a 3rd block for the masternodes has failed, as we did not anticipate that many of the nodes would be down. We did an emergency HF at block 80460 in which we have switched to 2 block types, 1 gpu and 1 cpu and giving the masternodes 33% of the reward of each block. In the end it's the same reward structure and the masternodes/gpu/cpu are getting the same rewards as we initially announced, just a different implementation. We regret the inconveniences caused in the last days and we would like to thank the Arionum community for being so supportive about it. We'd also like to thank the pioneers who have taken the risk and made the first Arionum Masternodes. There are currently 73 masternodes active!

Interesting - So there will really be a split mode alternating between CPU and GPU block sets and CPU will be rewarded during GPU as well?
Maybe I'll get back into this project.
127  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer R4 - dead hash board? Shitty design, read before you send it back on: August 14, 2018, 01:03:21 AM
I’ve got two running in my office which I bought used and applied this method to restore them both to factory. No idea when they were produced. Can say that neither were hashing at 8.7TH/s prior to the reset, but are hashing beautifully set at 612.

Excellent - I'll check if any of mine or my customers are able to do so as well.
I've successfully repair the burnt Pci-e connectors on many of these but some of them I think would benefit from a lower hash rate for sake of heat.

I also noticed in repairing a board that the unit came with two stickers - one showing a slightly lower hash rate on top. Is this from a refurb or just a misprint, I wonder.

After resetting yours, you mentioned it's running at 612 - do yours happen to appear to have multiple sets of hashrate stickers on the case as well?

they pull the move that all shitcoins make:  start masternodes.
and fail them Grin

It's frustrating considering it doesn't have to go that way. If the devs would prune the growth and care for the projects with desire for them to succeed they probably would succeed.

Comparing profitability between ARO coin, ELI and LEMON coin, up until recently believe it or not LEMONcoin was the winner. Now that the halvening has occurred I'll be checking ARO again. ELI was annoying as it didn't have the ability to start mining within the wallet. Bitcoin core and the codes copied from that all pretty much have that setgenerate true option there - the ones that don't are frustrating if they don't have a nice 'mine now' button right in the wallet. If I wanted to have a command based miner and a separate wallet I'd use ethereum, lol. The nice thing about these cpu coins is that they can be totally standalone independent machines if set up 'properly.'

Enough rant for now - How is mining after the fork?
Any chance of a listing on Cryptopia?
130  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer R4 - dead hash board? Shitty design, read before you send it back on: August 14, 2018, 12:22:30 AM
Have you tried this? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1597639.msg18267781#msg18267781

EDIT: I can confirm that it resets a R4 batch-6 back to BMiner v1.0 file system date Tue Aug 9 21:00:51 CST 2016.
It also resets all pool info back to Factory so you will have to re-enter it.

Good bit is: Auto-tune is GONE! IT GIVES BACK FREQ and FAN SPEED CONTROL! Cheesy

To do:
Power off miner
Press and hold in the IP REPORTER button.
While holding the button in, turn ON the miner power
Continue to hold in button for 5-7 sec and release
Wait a few min an you should be able to re-enter your pool info.
Enjoy!

Caveat: Since it runs BOTH boards at the same freq, if one is er, weak, you would have to downclock the good one until the weak one is happy....
Or apply the correct R4 update and get Auto-tune back...

Thanks for this - Do you know if this technique works with the most recent firmware? Other comments suggested that the newest versions might disable that reset option. (Does anyone here even still have an R4 other than the most recent post about hairdryer revival method?)

Anyone still around?

I know this is really old by now, but what was this coin?

Is it different from LEMON ? (Argon2coin)

What happened to the project? I liked the sound of 100M of anything, but did it ever hit any exchanges?

LEMONcoin is still on cryptopia but it's really having a hard time.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [LEMON] LemonCoin - Argon2 coin done right on: August 12, 2018, 07:49:45 AM
block size 5 lemon, mining isnt profitable now

Noticed this and thought something was wrong - then remembered the halvening. I guess it's been another year.

The price could have kindly doubled to make the halvening less drastic to worth of mining but sadly this doesn't appear to be the case.
If LEMON rides the waves of BTC then when the price goes up maybe this will too. HODL till then.

Debating the profitability of mining now. 5 is leaving a sour taste in my mouth.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [LEMON] LemonCoin - Argon2 coin done right on: August 05, 2018, 01:45:33 AM
what about new wallet version?
i think that there will not be a new wallet release , strange , because the coin isn't bad and is  still live on cryptopia , i think it is time that a new developer takes control over lemon , hope that there is interest from serious people

I'm interested but new in programming. I would never want to 'take' someone else's project without the approval of the owner.
I'd gladly contribute, however. I've mentioned some 'useful' code in previous messages for those who wanted mining to automatically start with full core power.

@WithTheLemons! is still active on other coins - I wonder what they're up to..

How good is the keyword access on Bitcointalk.org? If I mention someone will they see a post? I'm just a nobody but I like this CPU coin. I've tried ARO and Elicoin - Lemon, surprisingly is the most profitable, except for when Arionium gets it's spike occasionally. Lemoncoin actually fell off the map for about a day recently - Zero activity on trackers and exchanges, however mining was not impacted. It'd be nice to have a way to do more with this coin - everything being open source, how would one just go about making this new wallet with a one-click-mine-button -- by using the QT editor? Is this really easier on linux vs PC? Get repository vs installing all necessary packages on Win.. Not sure. Interested but if WithTheLemons already started working on the next steps I wouldn't want to experiment further without knowing.

Anyone else have any input for this oldie but goodie coin? Still on Cryptopia. Still easy to buy and sell. Fairly quick to mine. GPU and ASIC resistant. Not a bad coin. Marketing is nightmarish with 'lemon' in the name - That's the joke, right? It's a lemon coin at the lemonaide stand?

But.. It's real!

Seriously, what happens when someone else tries to make a coin with the same name? Like stocks they’ll have to make a different ticker call letter combination, presumably.
136  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer R4 - dead hash board? Shitty design, read before you send it back on: July 19, 2018, 01:37:26 AM
This doesn't seem to work on the newest firmware, I haven't found a way to revert it, thankfully it was just on my test failed board unit.

Use caution if you upgrade the firmware now, because you might not be able to go back.

I found this a bit too late in the game - still I do not know a way to revert to firmware with custom tune instead of auto.
Why ever would ‘remove’ an option be the default !? JUST ADD OPTIONS DIMBITNITS!
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ARO] | Arionum | CPU | PHP Based | Decentralized Revolution on: June 30, 2018, 08:52:58 AM
Right - So.
New to this coin. What happened with the other exchange? It seems OK on Mercatox for now.
It dipped hard - I'm guessing this is from an issue on Octawhatever. Do you think it'll recover?
I like that it's a cpu coin - it's being advertised as gpu mine-able - is this tested? I'd rather it be cpu only, personally.
At least it's worth more than LEMONCOIN, even on the down-trend.
