121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Palm Beach Confidential (All Months) on: November 21, 2017, 04:29:49 AM
PBC is not a pump and dump group but a legitimate publishing organization.  The principals behind it have been around for decades.  Anyway, PBC has closed to new subscribers until at least 2Q of next year.  Their November 2017 pick is DASH, which I guess is now a "featured" long-term pick since it was already in the portfolio as a short-term pick:

"PayPal leveraged its exclusive relationship with eBay to become a payment powerhouse. Even when other payment options became available, people stayed loyal to PayPal because it was so easy to use. We think Dash is taking a page out of the PayPal playbook and will become the dominant payment processor in the legal cannabis sector. From there, we expect it will leverage its dominance in pot payments to launch itself as a major player in cryptocurrency payments.

The time to take action is now, before Dash becomes a household name the way PayPal has. Remember: Because these trades have massive upside, you can keep your positions small and still make signicant gains. If you’re a smaller trader, we recommend putting $200–400 into each trade or $500– 1,000 if you’re a bigger trader.

Action to Take: Buy Dash (DASH) Buy-up-to Price: $600  Stop Loss: None  Buy It On: Bittrex, Binance Store It On: Jaxx, Ledger Wallet."

Exodus wallet also supports it (and also shows your cost basis in fiat for all received transanctions, though you need to do a full wallet refresh for complete accuracy) and seems much nicer than those two.  Previous buy-up-to price as a short-term pick was $140.

Did someone try and submit a bad block about 5 hours go?  It crashed the wallet.

My opinion is that it was seen as a pump and dump because of leaks. People leaking the issue and non-subscribers finding out then overbuying the crypto. Of some of the recent short term recommendations, the prices did not move as much because the info was not really widely circulated. One of the recent recommendations actually went down in price, but I can see it as a good buy once it bottoms out.

Do the short termers ever get highlighted as a featured recommendation?
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Palm Beach Confidential (All Months) on: November 17, 2017, 05:50:37 AM
Is their subscription still cost $ 3000? A lot of people reading them, thousands of people. I think they know about pumping effect of their letters. I'd be very careful when I read them. I don't think we can just buy blindly what they talk about. It would be mistake.

$2500 for one year, which I think is down from $2500 for two years from the last offer.  But there's a 1,000% gain guarantee or you get an extra year free.  It's pretty standard pricing for advisories, though maybe a bit on the high side for just a monthly publishing schedule.

I started a monthly neutral topic so we won't miss out on the latest reveal: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2415085.msg24704706

I didn't want to have to search for a new thread for every future monthly issue of PBC, so let this serve as a central repository.

As it's now the third Thursday, what was Teeka's recommendation for November?
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Palm Beach Confidential October 2017 on: November 05, 2017, 01:45:46 AM
I missed the webinar but got loads of calls or voicemails offering the same. My conclusion I saw bitcoin at is low in summer and you come to me when BTC has doubled to invest in it? I do not think you have the edge I knew about this several month ahead of you. $2500 for 200BTC very bad deal. To anyone thinking of doing that please just buy some crypto and hold

Trading advisory services are priced high keep the dumb money out as much as possible and because of liquidity issues (which is exacerbated in the cryptosphere at present).  If a $2500 subscription every year is too much of a barrier just to get to breakeven, you are woefully undercapitalized.  Know your limits.

129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Palm Beach Confidential October 2017 on: November 05, 2017, 01:41:46 AM
I totally agree with you on the glorified 'top secret' pnd scheme but not sure about playing contrarian on their signals as there's still lots of fools making their predicitons become real in a matter of seconds.. look at that zen coin which nobody ever gave a hoot about previously.

Who is this "nobody"?  The pump and dumpers?  Newsletter writers?  N00bs?  I agree.  But those of us that knew how to evaluate crypto fundamentals and bought in before the price rise completely disagree with you.

If you ain't willing to do the legwork, then pay Teeka and deal.

Any thougths on the privacy coin "that will put Ripple's gains to shame"?

He is talking bout Zencash I believe

Correct you are, sir.  The I in the B.I.T.S. includes management quality, although not always directly.

Although at $20+ that might hard hard to justify when Ripple itself is .20.

However, maybe the fact that Ripple is never ever gonna rocket up like Antshares is because it has a 100 billion supply.  So anything else could relatively beat it.

ETN only managed a .25 peak with a 21 billion supply.  That was only 2500%.
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Palm Beach Confidential October 2017 on: November 05, 2017, 01:21:44 AM
Well i had the fortunate or unfortunate pleasure of staying up till 2am last night seeing what this webinar was all about..

Basically the entire webinar was scripted, someone had leaked the entire transcript of the webinar 4mins into the start and the entire webinar was scripted word to word even the supposedly Public Q&A this was scripted too, doubt it was live seemed pre-recorded was just too perfect for it to be live.

So obviously the name of the coin was mentioned in the transcript and this is when Ripple started to pump a bit and people jumped into it to try and make a quick buck or so

it was only after 1 hour 7 mins that they got the to part where they mentioned this "Special Coin" so people were expecting it to pump even more..it didn't and fell back down again which begs the question did they really have many people tuning in as they claimed to say?

My Personal thoughts

- The entire webinar was very "Sales oriented" Typical Trying to sell you something - typical video testimonials with some semi retired couple supposedly making a killing in crypto (and looking at the type of people one would wonder whether they would even know what a "Blockchain is" LOL..

- the 1 million BTC giveaway by him was by my course for 2500 bucks and i will give you 200 bucks worth of bitcoin
- There was quite a bit of theory and discussion about crypto which was good and beneficial so learnt quite a bit here

Was it a waste of time? No I dont think so it was for me interesting in seem how they orchestrated this entire thing and of course those that wanted to make a quick buck or two in taking part of pumps probably did benefit it..

Mixed thoughts about this..still i am not convinced!

In the real world of newsletter publishing, hyperbole is the only thing that gets people's attention, sadly.  But unlike all the pump and dump groups being run by teenagers & 20-somethings, legitimate businesses have to have everything they say legally vetted as factual.

PBC has a lot of influence because they're they're the first reputable publishing outfit to recommend cryptos and they operate in the real world of legal direct marketing, not some parent's basement and Telegram.  So they have a large following of mainstream ignoramuses and a minority of smart crypto investors.

It costs money to record and put on webinars, so of course they're not going to do it for free without upselling a product or services.  It's just basic economics.  Next time some "Asian Whales" pump and dump group claims "due to excessive demand we are allowing only 10 new members for a one-time $1000+!!!" every couple of days, use your brain.  These groups are a dime a dozen and what real investigative research can they possibly do and how can they possibly be held legally accountable?  The blind lead the blind.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Palm Beach Confidential October 2017 on: November 05, 2017, 01:13:12 AM
So it was XPR. And everybody is selling right now. That was funny. But I liked watching the entire show. He has made good points on XPR and Crypto.

It's XRP and it wasn't the monthly newsletter.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Palm Beach Confidential October 2017 on: November 05, 2017, 01:12:20 AM
I think so too. Also NEVER heard of them before those last couple of months.. are we really sure they've been around for all this time? And that Teeka's face doesn't inspire me any trust. Let alone that 'fan' of him who posted his 'blog' where he features the PBC and looks like an entire advertisment website for the PBC.

You may not be, but we are pretty sure PBG has been around all this time and for longer.  Roll Eyes
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Palm Beach Confidential October 2017 on: November 05, 2017, 01:06:09 AM
People saying that they will choose BTS, GNT, BAT, SYS, NEM, XRP.

Shows you how much "people" know considering all of them are already in the portfolio.  Roll Eyes
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PRE-SALE 30% BONUS] MASS Token - Masternode And Staking Service on: October 25, 2017, 12:01:13 AM
Yes, I think that excluding americans citizen would be the best things! when people partecipate to the ICO would have to declare that he is not a USA citizen (and of everything other countries that cause problems)... This will put the MASS Corporation outside of any problems.... and if someone lie during the ICO participation and declare that he's not a USA citizen but he is USA citizen, well it's a problem of that person and not of MASS Corporation, because to partecipate he has done a false declaration, and MASS corporation is outside of any problems.
It's so simple!!

It's not that simple, legally.  The SEC wouldn't go after individual investors but the company.  And the SEC believes the long arm of the law is global and borderless if there's any U.S. citizen nexus in any way, shape or form.

Anyway, for MASS to do a legal ICO to U.S. citizens they will have to follow the regulations for Title II (Regulation CF), Title III (Regulation A+) or the older Regulation D.  Title II and Title III require using an online crowdfunding portal to fund raise, but the ICO would be available to anyone in the world.  Regulation D is for accredited investors only (and you can no longer self-affirm as in the past, the issuer has to actively verify).

Regulation CF is relatively cheap and easy to do but is limited to raising $1 million a year.  Regulation A+ has two possibilities, $30 million or $50 million per year, but is relatively expensive on the order of about $100K due to increased compliance requirements.  It is effectively a mini-IPO.  You can do a CF/A+ and D simultaneously and there's certainly no reason this part couldn't theoretically be limited to U.S. citizens only, while the rest of the world is caveat emptor as normal.

Fortunately, StartEngine.com (founded by an Activision co-founder) plans to enable ICO token offerings for funding campaigns in a few weeks.  None of the other portals have that in the works AFAIK.  So that is the only option at this point for MASS if they want to include non-accredited investors.

Takes about 3:30 minutes just to "load the blockchain".  I haven't seen such a turd wallet since Maxcoin.  And it's always forever stuck at 95.65% sync it seems.  Using TOR was beyond stupid.

Can someone post the blockchain past block 562706?
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Palm Beach Confidential October 2017 on: October 21, 2017, 01:23:42 PM
Doesn’t matter really. The newsletter goes out to thousands of whales that buy what they recommend.

Not necessarily whales, just mainstream dumb money with at least a moderate amount of capital judging by the "rags-to-riches" testimonials.

Look, at least its not $3K per year as is traditional in the publishing industry.  So it's affordable by most anyone.

The real question is how effective his B.I.T.S. filtering system is (in terms of long-term viability to avoid a systemic failure as all systems are wont to do).  The boots-on-the ground research may be the most important part of all.  But I'm skeptical all 26 picks have had that much vetting.  About 60% are just short-term trades to profit from expected events, so probably not done there.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Palm Beach Confidential October 2017 on: October 20, 2017, 10:41:49 PM
How trustworthy are the reports from this Palm Beach Research Group? They claim that they predicted a huge rise in NEO price when it was worth pennies. If that is true, it would have been a huge return. Now, I saw a report from them about ZenCash. I owned a few ZEN which I sold after the price increase only to see their report after I sold.

They have 26 open positions.  They can't predict shit, nor can anyone else.  All they can do is filter cryptos by the fundamentals and hope for the best.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Palm Beach Confidential October 2017 on: October 20, 2017, 07:49:45 PM
So it was really ZenCash (ZEN). Some people on reddit found that out somehow before the report was delivered, and there was a guy two days ago who claimed to have put his 'entire life savings' into ZEN. The price pretty much tripled. Outstanding results from a newsletter. Anyone here subscribed in it for long time? What's the price to join?

Let's put it in perspective.  He recommended a bunch of cryptos long before the crypto explosion that happened earlier this year when Ethereum announced the Alliance.  Almost as long as a year earlier.  He simply got lucky, especially on Antshares (now NEO).

That being said, luck favors the prepared.  It's simply not realistic to take that singular Antshares gain out of context and assume it's normal ex-post facto.  There's only one Chinese Ethereum and that was it.  It won't happen ever again.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Palm Beach Confidential October 2017 on: October 19, 2017, 11:24:48 PM
are you seriuos where did you get that data? I dont think that is true can you provide the source of this information. 180k that is insane, lets say if everyone will invest 1 bitcoin that is 180k bitcoins in som altcoin, this is immosible

That is for their primary newsletter, not the $3K trading service.  Perhaps they decided ZEN was too small and/or speculative to roll it out to the newsletter.
