121  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Technical Analysis - logical explanation - Poll on: June 05, 2018, 12:00:05 PM
In my case, technical Analysis never worked when used alone, at least in the crypto market and commodity market but if it is used with fundamental analysis, it somehow greatly contributes to the success of the prediction and sometimes throws it off. For this same reason, I only use technical analysis only when I cannot decide using fundamental analysis alone.
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is not for people who want permanent money! on: June 05, 2018, 10:29:00 AM
work hard to take part in bounties in time!
I like the point you have made(in the omitted text in the quote) but it is not a good idea to take bounties as an example to investing into crypto. Even if bounties do give lucrative source of income when one waited patiently, bounties are not the only way to earn a hefty sum of money in crypto. Also, it would be bad if all newbies would only think about bounties(because using it as an example might prevent newbies to learn other crypto related things, only coming here in the forum for the sake of getting bounties making crypto space infested with bounty hunters with little to zero knowledge about crypto). I am not against bounties though if they are to learn little by little.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is weird on: June 04, 2018, 11:10:32 AM
But even with the bigger ones like BCH. If you bought it at it's peak then you can divide the worth of your initial investment by 4.
Bitcoin Cash might be big, but it got serious issues on its own as well. Bearish seasons like what we are seeing right now is a normal occurrence in crypto markets, you shouldn't be fazed by the fact that all of the crypto markets are experiencing a dump. For now, it would be better if you hold some of the coins you have that got real potential(remember that patience is the key when investing into crypto) and dump the ones without real potential(and after doing so, keep in mind the lesson that you have learned from this experience: "never buy at an all time high").
124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN MASS ADOPTION? on: June 04, 2018, 09:06:45 AM
Does anyone think that one thing stopping it from mass adoption is the satoshi value?
I think satoshi value is not stopping it from mass adoption. IMO, people's lack of knowledge about crypto itself and lack of trust in it is what's impeding Bitcoin growth as of the moment. It will be solved soon though we just need to wait for more regulatory laws andany schools offering a college course related to it for mass adoption to happen.
without anyway to buy goods with crypto the only options are liquidate or hold.
You can buy goods online using crypto and Bitcoin though. As far as I know, you can buy goods online using crypto using Amazon and paying via purse.io's service, making options not limited to liquidating and holding.
125  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Big Whales doing day trade with bitcoin? on: June 03, 2018, 09:04:05 PM
When you say a big whale, do you mean one investor?
You are right but I think he meant that the same investor can also manipulate market using other means besides selling off 1000 BTC(using influence or money) when he said "big whale"
What can you say about the falling and rising of bitcoin market price lately?
.
There is a high probability that a big whale is trying to manipulate the price but IMO they are not day trading because those guys wouldn't want to gain low profits from their actions. IMO bitcoin's price movements are caused merely by people exiting the market(specifically those noobs who entered the market when it was low).
126  Economy / Speculation / Re: for price speculation bitcoin lost a lot of attraction on: June 03, 2018, 10:30:29 AM
this topic will of course piss of many bitcoin fanatics...
It won't piss off those you call as "bitcoin fanatics" because it is a common sight before the last halving happened. It isn't that price speculation for bitcoin lost a lot of attraction, it's just that noobs who entered the market have sold their portfolio already and veteran traders(typically bitcoin hodlers) are doing their usual thing(multiplying their bitcoin stash with altcoin price movements).
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Panic loss me 10800$ , so patient is the key on: June 03, 2018, 07:18:47 AM
would you have created this same topic if a different scenario which is also the common one happened?
The answer to your question is obvious. Of course, OP here would not open a thread if he got super lucky by selling it when IOTX was @ 0.00004800 ETH the other day when it got down today(unless he is one of those people that post their trades thinking it is a good and debatable topic in a thread).
Recently I faced a bad luck. here the story
Stop whining about it and move on. IMO you made a good decision to sell that shitcoin early because you could have had lost if it had gone sideways instead(since you have gained profit from it, I would not consider it a loss if I were you).
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: avoiding ICO scam and frauds on: June 02, 2018, 10:06:29 PM
What strategy you adopt to make sure the ICO is not a scam/fraud?
I also do strategies mentioned by others to make sure an ICO is not a scam/fraud but data gathered from researching is not enough for me to decide if an ICO is scam or not. Often times, I observe telegram group and how team does their public relations, and after observing for a while, I use my gut feeling to decide if an ICO is scam or not, or if I will invest onto it or move on.
129  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Whales and pump and dumps have destroyed this market on: June 02, 2018, 11:29:58 AM
it all depend on our faith with bitcoin
Bitcoin is not a religion, so don't ever mention your faith with bitcoin. I guess it would be better if we would reword it as "believing in the potential for growth of bitcoin".
There are BTC pumps all the time: impossible to trade in this environment!
It ain't impossible to trade in this environment. In fact, that same characteristic of bitcoin is what attracts investors to invest in it and take note that bitcoin is not pumping all the time(it doesn't happen all the time). The movement we have now IMO is just normal volatility and it ain't a pump.
130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Discussion] Visa outage: payment chaos after card network crashes on: June 02, 2018, 09:56:59 AM
Unfortunately, without LN right now Bitcoin can't claim to be a reliable alternative for VISA.
Not for millions of users worldwide.
I think it will still be reliable if the ones who will try to use bitcoin as an alternative for VISA(for now) is less than 500,000 after all, only Europe and UK are affected by this. Let's also consider the fact that among those knowledgeable ones from the angry customers, some will switch to other alternatives to VISA(may it be a centralized one or not) and will not turn to bitcoin.
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another ICO goes to zero! on: June 02, 2018, 08:03:20 AM
Could you please tell me how I can recover my investment?
Forget it and move on, according to this thread TBAR is already declared by SEC as fraudulent. If you have the TBAR token, I suggest you sell it instantly but if you were talking about its original BAR token, you cannot recover it because it was lost due to hack according to this article in steemit. Instead of worrying about it, you are better off doing something else to recover the funds you have lost.
132  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC manipulation or not? You wont believe in your eyes!!! on: June 01, 2018, 09:55:08 PM
Also, I think that BTC is again oversold and should launch upwards again.
What are the reasons?
I also think that we will see bitcoin show a bullish pattern by June 6th if not, then by July 6 because we still are not seeing the effect of institutional money coming into crypto space. Others might ask why I predict some movement on July 6 too? Based on OP's chart, I am convinced that there is a high probability of a manipulative force being at work(a big one at that) in bitcoin's price because there is always a significant move in bitcoin's price every 6th of the month. I can't deem it as a coincidence because it happened many times over.
133  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto market=online casino on: June 01, 2018, 12:07:12 PM
Do you think the global cryptocurrency market is just like one giant worldwide online casino?
Those traders you refer to are not investing into the coins they buy randomly(at least some of them). They really see the potential for it to grow because of it's real world use cases that would surely be beneficial to the public once crypto becomes mainstream. Always remember that some potential altcoins out there also have their own company that creates new jobs as well.
134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no built-in consumer protection? on: June 01, 2018, 10:09:11 AM
You'd just have to tie a Bitcoin address to a person, lots of people re-use and share their addresses.
You can simply achieve anonymity by not mentioning to others that you are using a particular address. That way, others would not be able to tie a bitcoin address to you and will prevent someone tracking your spending habits with bitcoin to do so. If it is not enough to prevent the government, at the very least it will make tracking your spending habits a gruesome task for them.
what protection are you talking about? bitcoin has no protection because as the op said above ,  'bitcoin transactions are not ireversible' which means if you got scammed there is no chance that your coins will be recovered.
Have you read this post before commenting on what he is talking about, if not then please do read it, I believe this post already mentioned how to avoid getting scammed when using bitcoin as a means to pay:
As far as the irreversible transactions go, there can be consumer protection put in place. Satoshi said third party escrows would likely be the solution or even smart contracts could be used.
135  Economy / Economics / Re: Reason we pay taxes and why we should on: June 01, 2018, 08:13:59 AM
You are 100% correct. A lot of these governments are corrupt to it's core.
Even if governments are corrupt to its core, I think it is still the citizen's duty to still pay taxes despite their leaders being corrupt. Even if they are corrupt, they are the ones leading their country and it is no easy feat. At the very least, they are the ones enforcing the rules and regulations that protect the citizens from harm caused by criminals and terrorist and IMO, they should be paid for that.
136  Economy / Speculation / Re: Would BTC shake off an ICO shite implosion? on: May 31, 2018, 09:47:36 PM
Could all of the shit out there implode and die and Bitcoin carry on relatively unscathed or would it take a heavy hit too? I don't really see how it could just shake it off as I'm sure a large amount of the BTC buying was to pile in to that space.
It would definitely take a hit too but I think it won't be that heavy. In the long term though, I think it would affect the demand for bitcoin if ever those ICO shits implode and die but bitcoin's price might become more stable than it is now when those ICO coins are gone for good. By then, speculation might subside a bit(because those ICO's are part of the reason why bitcoin is being a speculative tool nowadays) helping market to become healthier.
137  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Scapping,Day trading,Swing Trading and Position Trading. on: May 31, 2018, 11:56:48 AM
Are members here not aware of other trading types or it is not applicable to crypto.
Those who trade crypto seriously definitely knows other trading types but they rarely mention it. Almost all types of trading are applicable to crypto, but it cannot be used all the time. Most of the times, day trading and position trading are the only ones that can be regularly used in crypto(because of its volatile nature and at times it can be stable at a certain price range). The other two type is rarely used.
138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bill Gate against investing into bitcoin? on: May 31, 2018, 10:27:53 AM
Can someone help as to why Bill Gate spoke against bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies?
He is not interested in bitcoin because according to him, it lacks actual value. Somehow, I understand him because it is mainly used as a speculative thing right now, and not as a currency.  Nevertheless, I think bill gates will soon get interested in it if btc becomes widely used to buy goods and services. Here is another relevant article that might help you know more about his reasons as to why bill gates is against in investing into bitcoin.
139  Economy / Economics / Re: STOP IMMO! Vitalik Buterin vs Rothschilds cryptocurrency on: May 31, 2018, 09:18:44 AM
How will it affect other cryptocurrencies? Should I sell ETH?
You should keep your ETH since it might not affect cryptocurrencies at all. If ever the rumors about Rothschild's interest in crypto being true, I see it in a positive light because it might make people more interested in decentralized cryptocurrencies. It is also impossible for them to develop a currency that will be used by everyone around the world. IMO they just don't have enough political influence to every country for it to happen.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your Exit Strategy? Do you even have one? on: May 30, 2018, 11:10:24 PM
If you believe in (2), do you have a plan?
I believe in statement number 2 but what plan are you asking for? If you believe it, then you would simply buy and sell crypto every now and then until the coexistence of fiat and crypto is certain. You alone cannot do a thing to make it a reality, but at least you can keep using it so that you will contribute to the daily volume of trades crypto has, and will help speed up crypto and fit's coexistence.
