1201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is MEW Safe to use now? on: March 01, 2018, 05:18:06 PM
Recently there was a split between the team behind MEW and a new paper wallet site opened up.  Is MEW still safe to use with a Ledger?

MEW is still safe to use in my opinion, although you can use either of the two platforms, i think it will continue to be until such a time if there will ever be, when there is any kind of risk associated with using it, and i think the team would let the users know if that happens.
I agree with you completely. I checked my wallet recently and observed that all my coins were carefully secured without any sort of problem whatsoever. I fully trust MEW at the moment just like I have believed in them for quite a long time. As others have stated, if you lost coins to hackers by sharing your private keys and downloading viruses, it is completely on you. I suggest metamask which is easily one of the best ways to secure your coins and accessing them through your private key is also recommended.
1202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Im afraid of Hackers/Scammers! on: February 26, 2018, 03:57:25 PM
With that amount, it is "safe" to have your money stored on an exchange, I'd recommend getting a Ledger Nano S if you hold bigger amounts (say $20k or more). Otherwise, keeping your money in an exchange is "safe"
I partially agree with you here. The Ledger Nano S is indeed one of the best ways to secure our bitcoins, but saving our money on an exchange is far from safe. For example, several million dollars worth NEM was stolen from a crypto exchange which potentially screwed many big whales who invested and stored their coins on that exchange. Storing our coins on an exchange is convenient, but risky which I feel is not worth it. Desktop wallets or online wallets like MEW are much safer in this regard which is why I recommend not storing your coins on any exchange.
1203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Goes Back Below 10K USD on: February 22, 2018, 06:03:28 PM
This is not a big deal since such volatility is to be expected from bitcoin and the crypto market. It might skyrocket to $20k in the next few days. No one can accurately say what will happen, but my advise is to HODL your coins until the end of this year at the very least since I am expecting a huge rally by bitcoin and popular altcoins like Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple etc which will skyrocket into the stratosphere. Primary reason why I believe this will happen is due to the integration of the Lightning network in the near future which will surely boost the value of the market.

Great and wonderful achievement for DeepOnion to be included in BitIndia. Another milestone record we hit this year and still not resting to continue to another target locked. Great read here from the article also. Well done. Grin
This is a superb achievement indeed. Well done DeepOnion development team and the DeepOnion community. It feels great to see DeepOnion getting added to more and more exchanges and I feel that Binance and Bittrex will easily add this coin once the airdrop is done which is something that I am truly excited for. Another feature that I eagerly waiting for is the DeepOnion android and IOS wallets along with VoteCentral which will propel this coin to new heights. HODLING my onions all the way! Cool

I created a Telegram news channel. Join it and stay informed about everything you need to know about DeepOnion. Development, Community, Polls, Exchanges, outstanding articles. Don't miss any news.

Feel free to join and subscribe: https://t.me/DeepOnionNewsEn (DeepOnion News)

Especially if you don't have enough time to read everything in the Bitcointalk ann thread and community board, this channel will be helpful to you.

https://t.me/DeepOnionNewsEn (DeepOnion News)

See you there
Very useful channel. Thank you for creating this channel. I usually find out about the latest news related to DeepOnion through the DeepOnion forum and this particular channel will also help as an alternative to finding out the latest updates regarding DeepOnion. I am already a member of the official DeepOnion channel and the activity in that channel is quite low. Just received my onions for my contributions this week and I would like to thank the DeepOnion team in this aspect. April 20th is close now and I will miss this airdrop.
1206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The KYC scam on: February 17, 2018, 06:05:46 PM
I believe the projects are using KYC as a ploy to not payout after bounty hunters have already done the work.  I see more and more of these surprise KYC requirements after the work is done.  This is clearly being done to seize the funds of the bounty hunters who are not willing to give personal data to god knows who.

Very clever trick. They are trying to use us then ask for requirements which go directly against the movement.

This happened to me as well!!  I did all the work and requirements and then at the end they hit us with KYC.  Needless to say I'm not ignorant enough to send in my passport so I was not paid for the work and the bounty manager/project stole my work.

I'm also very surprised to see the amount of people willing to bow down to the rules so easily.  No wonder the powers that be always stay in control.

If crypto does not equal privacy/anonymity then what the hell is the point of all this?  I believe crypto begins to die once it is no longer anonymous.  Visa and Mastercard wins hands down at that point.  The privacy is the main selling point.

I will begin switch my crypto over to my local bank as this trend increases.  Crypto is pointless when you have to send your passports in.

Mastercard/Visa and the big banks do not require this level of security to get a credit card so now crypto has ZERO advantages.

Well said. I agree with you completely here. This whole KYC drama is seriously hurting crypto and the members of the crypto community which is why I urge everyone not to fill in these KYC forms since it defeats the entire purpose of crypto. Many airdrops are also asking for KYC forms these days which is deplorable and something that I am completely against. We must boycott all such campaigns to teach them a lesson and make them understand that we are not willing to sacrifice our privacy for the sake of money(Which we may or may not get).
1207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡ [ANN] DeepONION ⚡ TOR ⚡ DeepVault ⚡ Cryptopia ✈️ Airdrops 31/40 New Thread ✈️ on: February 15, 2018, 05:45:20 PM
can someone tell me what amazing feature do dash and monero offer that make them have such a high usd value other than being a privacy coin . what i see from Deeponion   we have much more to offer than just being a privacy coin we have way more features . the only thing they have more than us  is  years they have been around  for 4 years  and we are just born  7 months ago . i guess its just a matter of time until we dominate all
Basically, Monero and Dash were introduced a long time ago as a potential solution to the anonymity problem with bitcoin which is the primary reason why they became popular in the first place in the crypto world. Monero skyrocketed in popularity thanks to its revolutionary features and Dash simply tagged along and this gave them the high ground in the anonymous crypto wars. In comparison, DeepOnion launched recently, but still managed to take off into the stratosphere in a short period of time which says a lot and will catch up with Monero and Dash pretty soon at its current pace.
1208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡ [ANN] DeepONION ⚡ TOR ⚡ DeepVault ⚡ Cryptopia ✈️ Airdrops 31/40 New Thread ✈️ on: February 13, 2018, 07:22:05 AM
I was reading at the DeepOnion forum that some of the reasons that big exchanges are not listing DeepOnion yet is because of the number of ONIONs distributed in a way is low these days! but in that case, once the 40th airdrop is finished, then there will be around 19 million ONIONs in circulation am I right? then big exchanges will easily add DeepOnion, we are talking about 2 and half more months.
I think after the airdrop, 10 million Onions will have been distributed through the airdrop and whatever is given in bounty and from staking will be the total in circulation. I have also heard that after the airdrop ends, it should be easier for DeepOnion to be listed in bigger exchanges.

I think the main reason DeepOnion could not be listed on bigger exchanges like Bittrex is developers still having significant percentage of coins.  Once the airdrops will be over, much of these coins would already have been distributed with airdrops to the community and so DeepOnion will have a much much higher chance to get listed on bigger exchanges.
You make a valid point. The big exchanges have already claimed that they will only think about adding DeepOnion after the airdrop phase ends(What I heard sometime back in the community) and I believe that DeepOnion will surely get added to Bittrex and Binance before the end of this year once the exchanges notice the potential of this coin after the airdrop ends. I will miss the airdrop, but it is necessary for this coin to move forward and grow in value. The cool thing is that the community will continue to stay active thanks to VoteCentral etc which is something that I am excited about.
1209  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has Bitcoin turned the corner? on: February 12, 2018, 04:31:26 PM
No off course not.
You should be aware of the good news that's flowing in from everywhere .. the Korean and Indian and Australian market could see a tremendous growth over the coming weeks.

Making it easy for Bitcoins holders to land in profit.
The highs and lows might break you down at a moment but remember this "Patience wins, always"
I agree with you here. Patience is indeed the key to huge profits in the long run which is why I am HODLING my bitcoins and all my other altcoins for the long term at the moment. Coming to the question posted by op, bitcoin will continue appreciating and might reach $14k by the start of next month due to the good news flowing in from all directions as you said. More good news is on the way.

After the conclusion of the Chinese New Year later this week, bitcoin will continue surging in value which will push it and the rest of the crypto market upwards. Stay patient and HODL all your coins everyone.

I have received the Friday airdrop. Thanks to dev and all who support DeepOnion. Keep up the good work!
Same here. Ever since this airdrop started, I get excited every friday thanks to this airdrop and I cannot believe that 30 rounds have already passed. The airdrop will be ending soon which is honestly sad if you ask me since this is my favorite airdrop until now and I doubt I will ever like any other airdrop more than this one. On top of all this, the friendly community and the dedicated developers related to DeepOnion are some of the best in the crypto world and am happy to be a proud member of the DeepOnion community.
1211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it Ripple buy time? on: February 08, 2018, 03:19:35 PM
It is buying time for ripple. Right now it is under 1 dollar in which it exceeds 1 dollar and even took a step in 2 dollars+. So I believe it is a great buying time for ripple since it followed bitcoin footsteps towards its dip.
I agree with what you are saying here. I purchased some Ripple recently due to the dip and I am expecting big profits in the long term which is why I am holding for the long term. I like this coin mainly due to its real life use cases, community support as well as dedicated developers which is why I support this coin at the moment and I am not really interested in the whole bank aspect of this coin since I am only focused on trading this coin for future profits. I also invested into Stellar lumens recently and I like this coin even more than Ripple.
1212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Green Market Soon... on: February 07, 2018, 05:45:08 PM
See yah! Bitcoin is approaching for a new run, not down but a faster bullish run again. A jump from 6200$ to 7500$ is a good sign.

Time to regret for those who panic selling and those who doesn’t buy on dip. But it’s not too late, there’s still some time as we’re now heading to a new heights. Ride along bitcoiners, you don’t want to be left behind. Are you?

Yeah that's it..2 min silence for those who panic selling. Market is signal green again ! hopefully it gonna raise up to $12K+ within this month.
It is natural for the weak hands to sell due to the crazy amount of FUD against the crypto world and bitcoin in recent times. There was a point at which bitcoin dropped all the way up to $4,000 on an Indian exchange and I missed that particular opportunity to grab bitcoin at such a low value. It is clear that some people wish to exit the market as soon as possible, but more people will enter the market and invest into Bitcoin after the introduction of popular features like the integration of lightning network etc later this year which will drive the value of Bitcoin into the stratosphere.
1213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: waiting for the right time to get in. on: February 06, 2018, 04:14:05 PM
Interesting. What exactly is the right time to get into crypto according to you? You must understand that the crypto market is an extremely volatile market where any coin may skyrocket in value or lose value out of the blue without any specific reason which is why there is no right time to get get into the crypto field. It all depends on research and look at the end of the day. You must also be willing to lose the money which you invested into the crypto market due to the risk involved with this volatile market.
1214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡ [ANN] DeepONION ⚡ TOR ⚡ DeepVault ⚡ Cryptopia ✈️ Airdrops 30/40 New Thread ✈️ on: February 02, 2018, 05:16:29 PM
Guys, it is totally time to HODL !!! After this correction we will surely reach a new ATH within the next month!!!

KEEP HODLING

Verified by DeepVault: DiPLr87p1SEkkhzQTfaSXfmGLSh7jQGCCm
I agree with your view here. So many people in the forum are scared and doubt whether HODLING is indeed the best way in this current scenario which shows that they have weak hands and I guess many of them are dumping already which is good since I can purchase more onions for a low price. It is definitely not easy to HODL for the long term while looking at the charts regularly which is why I advise everyone to think too much about the value of DeepOnion and focus on other activities in life and check up on the DeepOnion value now and then(Example: Once a month).

New Ann looks awesome I can’t wait until the market bounces back and we get added to these exchanges and the mobile wallet comes out so we can really see DeepOnion flourish.

Yep yep!   The new layout looks so good.   It is very telling that the DeepOnion team never rests.  They are always trying to improve and take things to the next level.    After such a big explosion in price,  I'm pretty impressed that DeepOnion is still holding on to those gains.   Let's not forget where the price was 2 months ago.      I agree about the market:  I really think we are getting primed for a crazy time with DeepOnion.    If it works out how I hope -  things like the mobile wallet and deepsend will be released as the market recovers - setting up DeepOnion for a new ATH.
I agree with you 100%. The new layout looks stunning in every aspect and the DeepOnion team keep pushing DeepOnion in all the right directions. I think that DeepOnion will get added to more exchanges soon(FatBTC etc) which will help its value rise soon in the short term. The current market situation has affected DeepOnion in a major way which is why its value is dropping, but I feel this is temporary and it will begin rallying again soon sometime later this month which is why I am HODLING all my coins.
1216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How convincing can one persuade close relatives to join bitcoin investment on: January 31, 2018, 07:09:52 AM
Oh.. I really do not think it is a smart move to convince and persuade. Especially not relatives.
People should be informed so that they can make a decision for themselves if they want to make an investment. Bitcoin is not a sect.

Do you really want to be the guy responsible when relatives lose their money? Because you would be the one who draged them in.
That could really harm the peace in your family.
Great points and I completely agree with you here. OP needs to realize that this an extremely volatile crypto market where the coin values fluctuate like crazy most of the time which is why there is a huge degree of risk involved here and being responsible for someone else is not a joke. If your relatives are genuinely interested in the crypto market, they should be made aware of the risks that come with it. Instead of convincing them, I would focus on helping them learn the basics of crypto world and how everything works in the crypto market. Also, it would be better if they started investing small amounts rather than big amounts.

Is there any staking or security benefits to upgrading to the new wallet or is it more for the update GUI?  Will I be fine if I hold off on upgrading?  I'm getting a new computer in a month and plan to just download the new wallet then.

You will be better off with newer version of wallet. Although, the developers or team didn't mention about the latest update being a critical update. So, you will be good even with the version you currently have.

Between onion seems to be stable at current price. Hopefully the next news of major update comes soon. The best news would be DeepOnion hitting the top exchanges like Bittrex or Binance.

we hope next month Deeponion team realise the phone wallet it's what they working it.
and why not add deeponion to one of famous exchangers  Binance or Bittrex.
Binance and Bittrex have already mentioned that they are not considering DeepOnion due to the current airdrop campaign, but they will obviously consider it once the airdrop phase is completed in a few months which will help DeepOnion rise in value. Coming to the mobile wallet, themonkii showed us how it works along with a cool trailer during the recent live q&a session which looked savvy in my opinion and am even more excited for it now since I am an android mobile user. The IOS users will have to wait for some more time for an IOS version which will launch in a few months.

TheMonkii's weekly video is out with so many prize draws. So many winners. Many thanks to themonkii for the upload and generous prizes.
I agree with you. So many winners this time around and I am lucky to have won 2 $25 coupons which means I will be doing some shopping soon. Personally, I enjoyed the live Q&A a lot and it was my 3rd live Q&A which helped me learn a lot of new stuff about DeepOnion and I had a blast interacting with many members of the DeepOnion community.

themonkii is truly one of the most generous mods in our community and am happy to be a part of this superb community. Excited for the 4th live Q&A. Grin
1219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Comes After the Crypto Bubble? on: January 28, 2018, 05:55:51 AM
the bubble burst.

but the funny thing is, people always see the bubble, and they close their eyes on the burst part and then wake up after the burst is over and say they have missed it so it must still be a bubble.
you can see how many missed the epic bitcoin bubble burst this month which was a $7000 drop from 19k to 12k.

I think we can also say after the crypto bubble comes a lot of nagging kidos who missed the chance to buy.
Agree with you here. So many people keep ignoring the fact that corrections are healthy for the crypto market in the short and long term and they act like bitcoin will reach $100k within a short span of time without any correction whatsoever which is seriously silly in my opinion. The recent surge to $20k was in desperate need for a correction and it corrected itself by a big margin as expected. I am expecting another big rally by bitcoin in the near future.
1220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡ [ANN] DeepONION ⚡ TOR ⚡ DeepVault 🚀 Cryptopia 🚀 Airdrop 28/40 New Thread 🚀 on: January 25, 2018, 06:55:59 AM
Mentioned on the verge about 50cent and bitcoin and top 100 on coingecko rankings LETS GO BOYS. DeepOnion about to make a run soon and the Q&A this Friday woooooo doggy exciting times.
That was good, also the price today is good, it seems like it's slowly going to the top again after it fall 50% when it reach the ATH.
I like Deeponion, truly a long term project as it's compose by a team who are ambitious to develop this project at a higher level.
it seems the whole crypto is green today, i hope this bull run will sustain and push onion price to another all time high soon.
I think that this bull run will indeed sustain for sometime since South Korea announced that they are allowing people to trade crypto only through legit exchanges. This was an obvious move since they clearly understood that they cannot completely ban bitcoin which is why they are seeking to regulate it in this manner. This move will help the market stay in the green for sometime.

I am expecting a big rally sometime in the middle of February for the entire crypto world which is why I advise everyone to keep their coins close to themselves and HODL them for as long as possible for big profits.
