Curious.. if Bitcore is not a fork of Bitcoin, why not have a different look and feel for the logo?
For that, I think people would just see it as a knock-off of Bitcoin, diminishing its potential
Bitcore could be re-branded to satisfy those people that BTC does not. A friendlier, more accessible Bitcoin that is easier to use.
Maybe time to cut off Bitcoin for good and 'unleash the core'
Indeed, there are debates about this in the community and it is not easy to find out the best path to choose. It is still in the debate and the team is open to proposals. V

Our coder, ArchimedesIX, hasn’t responded in about 3 months. I’m presuming he has left the project, for whatever the reason. Currently looking for a new programmer to finish the current update.
If anyone is interested please post and/or send me a PM.

Nothing lost so far on 'topia - thought IX would be no1 target
Clearly, they have deeply underestimated IX. “If they knew what I know...”

I done told you muppets Karpeles was gonna walk, 5 years ago, back when Mt Gox was hacked.
It’s a big club: And you ain’t in it!!! ![Kiss](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/kiss.gif) — BITCOIN Mt. Gox: Tokyo Court acquits Mark Karpeles on embezzlement charges; finds him guilty of electronic data tampering

I was warning people about cryptopia for a couple months before they got “hacked” and now I gotta say Yobit has been looking very cryptsy-ish. Locking wallets down into maintenance mode for months at a time for no obvious reasons so I would be careful about holding any IXcoins on there. Just a heads up! Yes, my handwriting actually looks like that in real life, sooooo...

Nice, blocknet is an old school project ran by a great coder. Any idea how many coins are in blocknet now?

Cryptopia's exit scam destroyed all those smaller coins that relied on it for an exchange. BTX being one of them unfortunately.
How so?

Point is that the coin doesn't have much traffic for it's potential, writing is just one of the unique ways contributors can earn DevCoin but it will remain useless and stagnant without significant volume and user base.
Ever hear of Daniel Treccia? ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Volume extremely low, we gotta do something about it guys!
Buying? Soon? Not that, DevCoin needs to be revitalized! Sure, now that we have a few exchanges again to finally trade DevCoin we're going in the right direction, however we need to focus on getting more attention on the coin itself. I'm not even sure if we're accepting more writers into DevToMe as I had convinced friends to write but they have told me they are unable to accept members due to inactivity of some registration admins. And who wants to write 12 hours per day for $500 per month? Unless you’re in a 3rd world country. Maybe that’s changed but I doubt it as devtome has only gotten more popular.

Announcement:
Ok we gotta do something about the large inactive ix wallets. One key element to mass adoption, which is our main goal, is wide/mass distribution. The big problem right now, given ixc is such an old coin, is that there are numerous very large wallets which have been inactive for years.
So the plan is to employ a progressive redistribution system for inaccessibile coins, basically the top 90-100 wallets. If you don’t want to me “charged” this .1% weekly [5.2% yearly] fee then you simply move your coins into multiple smaller wallets. It’s that simple.
This will be a gradual process and will be similar to a progressive tax programme. .1% weekly [5.2% yearly] would be redistributed [to miners] per year from inactive wallets. A wallet with 10,000 ixc, for example, would literally take 50 years to see such a charge while a wallet with 1,000 ixc would take 500 years.
And again, if you have a huge whale wallet simply move your coins into multiple smaller wallets which is safer anyway and you won’t get charged anything.
We need to do something about all the dead, inactive wallets out there to increase our odds of attracting viable partners and getting mass adoption so this step is crucial, and it is also very fair and transparent.
What do you guys think? Please post your opinions and feedback.
Regards,
RV
IMO - good idea, get rid of some dead wood wallets Thanks for your input. I’ll let Archimedes know and maybe we can get this done with the next update.

It's cool man, I only jest. Sidenote, BBQ up to 2.5 sats..... ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) Happy for you. I really like that coin, wish I could have bought up 5%. Should moon during the next bull. LOL, not on current code-base. I recently got PM'd by Ki773r stating they would not be able to update code-base; It is a walking time bomb. I was able to part with a few in order to recoup my electricity from the last year (about $50). Current Market cap is 2.29 BTC at the high price and 0.8 BTC on the low end. You could still buy that 5% for only 0.04 BTC. Wow that’s cheap. Too bad I don’t have the .04 BTC right now. Got stuff to do.
