1201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the advantage and disadvantage of Bitcoin? on: May 27, 2016, 07:17:56 PM
i can say the disadvantage, sometimes bottleneck happening, too much-unconfirmed transaction when the blocksize only limited for 1mb,and it'll affect on your transaction, need to wait longer than usual and sometimes it'd took time about 1 hour or more,it's sure a problem i guess,i'm sure you don't want to wait about ~1hour when your client is waiting for the transaction
This is caused by spammers who try to create too many dust transactions and we have many times faced this in the past. Also, when one transaction doesn't get confirmed due to the inputs being unconfirmed, it can take upto 5 hours or more and hence the wait gets long. This is a major disadvantage of bitcoins but it is caused by those who don't want this currency to succeed.
To me the best advantage is that bitcoin is much safer, faster and convenient because
one can't get his limited wallets where as no need to use real information unless you choose to use a service.
one can create any number of accounts he wishes securely.
1202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is it to store your bitcoins on a mobile phone? on: May 15, 2016, 06:20:43 PM
The answer is simple. If you lost your phone, than you're done.
But if you could erased the data of your phone (by any method) before someone's using it it, than you're pretty safe.
I dont think it is a good suggestion to save bitcoins on mobile since mobile data can be erased as well as mobile can be stolen as well which will ultimately create problem for the user itself. so no recommendation from me in this regard.
1203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to teach someone about Bitcoin on: May 15, 2016, 06:11:10 PM
yes it is true that we cant motivate some one until we guide properly about the benefits of bitcoins and teach peoperly about how to earn thru bitcoins and how the profit rises in halving so then some one will surely get motivated and this is the way to teach some one about bitcoins.
1204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: May 15, 2016, 06:07:38 PM
There is potential here, but getting rid of all the banks? No they are too powerfull although i see it happening that banks will go bankrupt since more users will avoid them.
But since banks sell services like mortgages, insurancies etc. They where will be a place for them.
In my opinion banks can not get disappeared since they offer so many services like mortgages and loans etc. where as bitcoins are different as well as banks are very much available like bitcoins online thru ATMs and online banking as well.
1205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people store their bitcoin on a file, or on paper? on: May 15, 2016, 06:04:02 PM
I've been wondering for a while about this.
Why do people do it? I mean, if you use an online wallet, it way safer that having it stored on a file or paper which can be stolen at any time.

---

An online wallet has too much security for this. Like Two-Step Verification, or a pin code, etc..

this doesn't make sense to me, when you have your wallet online (web wallet or any desktop wallet which is connected) you are at much higher risk than storing it in paper form.

how can paper be stolen? they have to break into my home and steel a piece of paper!!!
I also think in similar way that there is no comparison between paper wallet or storing a bitcoin on file. paper info can be stolen if some one knows about it where as online info can be hacked as well.
1206  Economy / Economics / Re: Is gold better than Bitcoin? on: May 15, 2016, 05:57:42 PM
i don't think it is entirely right to compare gold and bitcoin together. both of them have similarities as an investment so you can compare them in that aspect but bitcoin is much more than just an investment so that makes it different from gold, different better that is.

Correct their are similarities; mining, investinet etc. but they are also very different. Bitcoin is mainly meant for creating transactions, alas being a payment method (a currency). While gold is used to back up currencies, since it is very stable.

Perhaps you are right, but people will always compare things with each other. And since they carry similarities it's not more then logic to compare them. It's too bad that bitcoin will lose since gold is the 'master'. But don't feel sad: the EURO, Dollar etc. will also lose.

If gold will rise in future then bitcoin also has an potential to go higher in future, its just a matter of time and we will see much better bitcoin in future.
I think there is a nice comparison between bitcoin and gold since they both increase time to time but good thing is that bitcoin will always rise when gold price will increase.
1207  Other / Off-topic / Re: If i give you 10 BTC what will you do? on: May 15, 2016, 05:53:16 PM
If i were to have 10 bitcoin then i would invest it in casino bankroll its not the same as gambling in casino and you have a better chance of gaining more since its rare to see that a casino lost.
If i get 10 BTC then first option is that i will save it in wallet and wait for price rise in halving otherwise second option is that I will open a casino and make lot of money with 10 BTC.
1208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Halving is a profitable??? on: May 15, 2016, 05:50:43 PM
yes, if the diff stay the same because right now miners are doing 4x the earning of their consumption, so even after the reward will be halved, this is still 2x the consumption

the value will likely increase to compensate for the drop from 4x to 2x, naturally this is only true for those with 0.05 kw/h or less...

The price should rise as a result of the halving but how do we know the price rise isn't already done now? This block size debate bitching & in fighting doesn't help anybody.

I was hoping to see around 600 when the halving comes.

Yes the halving will let the price increase but we have to see it with our own eyes because the halving price is not to predict right now, I think it will be at 700 dollar or something near that.
We just have to be patient and see what is gonna happen, it will be profitable I'm sure of that.
Of course halving is profitable and if no halving means no interest in bitcoin for anyone that why bitcoin is famous without halving as it gives rise in price of bitcoins and hence halving even though unpredictable but is right profitable thing and gives life to bitcoins.
1209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is the best future currency? on: May 15, 2016, 05:47:31 PM
Because only bitcoin that have a huge price for each bitcoin and you can earn it freely, like do faucets or signature campaign. Other currency can't do this though.
Yes i do agree with this since bitcoin offers a lot of options to earn and raise its profit where as no paper currency has this kind of benefits that's why its popularity in future will make it the best future currency.

1211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So, why do we need to use Bitcoin? on: May 06, 2016, 04:04:20 PM
You don't necessarily need to "use it". Does anyone use gold for anything but storing value? That's right, no one, so buying Bitcoin and storing it to edge against government issued money is an use within itself.

Once people start getting paid directly in Bitcoin we'll see more everyday use.

Yes bitcoin is needed to use when some one needs to use only other than that it is the modern feature of today's technology and it is helping all its users and performing better than banks. what else to expect since it is helping to get prosperous.
1212  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2017 Year of the Bitcoin on: May 06, 2016, 03:59:22 PM
How so? I've heard the same multiple times for both 2015 and 2016.
you are right i also  heard the same multiple times for both 2015 and 2016.

2017 should be said year of the Bitcoin. This happens because of halving by 2016 will have an impact in 2017.

I wonder what will be the reaction of users if price doesn't rise at the time of halving and it will result in loosing faith in bitcoin and switch to some other product.

if nothing happens I think the prices will probably decrease, because there will probably be a dump, where some people are already panic buying will sell. they will not lose faith, bitcoin will always increase, without halving though.

yes bitcoin will rise more in future and we don't know what what will halving offer us but if price doesn't rise then people will go crazy for sure.
Yes for last few years we are hearing that bitcoins halving will rise the value of bitcoins but sill we are waiting and seems to be true that 2017 might be the year of bitcoins and halving would rise its price to a good level.
1213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: May 06, 2016, 03:56:20 PM
It will only make it disappear when there will be a lot of people that is going to use Bitcoin otherwise it will be not possible for them and that will takes indeed a long time.
So you have to know that there will be a lot of people must promote Bitcoin to disappear the Bitcoin.
What? I'm highly confused of what you said. People must promote Bitcoin so bitcoin would disappear? What? That's very contradicting what you said there. How can bitcoin disappear if people must promote them? Or do you mean 'people must promote Bitcoin to disappear banks' ? Well even so, I have to tell you that that would be nearly impossible.

Even if  bitcoin is promoted on highest level it can never make banks disappear, what about poor and illiterate people who only knows banking system.
It does not seem to be possible that banks might disappear so fast since the world is full of banks and surrounded by banking system and even though bitcoins become very popular but still public will have some need of banks always. Instead we can expect that banks would start adopting bitcoins since they need bitcoins for their survival in future.

1214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People hate Bitcoins? on: May 06, 2016, 03:46:51 PM
Different people have different opinions. I have no hostility to bitcoin, moreover, I invest some in my anx account.

Yes, different people have different opinions but no one here hate bitcoin as if they hate bitcoin they they would have leave this place long before now, and if still there are some people here who hate bitcoin I will suggest then to go to other forum and it is bitcointalk forum and here you have to love bitcoin.
actually people who hate bitcoin are people who know more about bitcoin. he's looking for errors and shortcomings of the bitcoin. of course to attack bitcoin and create a bad image about bitcoin. so that bitcoin has a negative image in the public mind.
they exist around this forum

I think we should not listen to them as those are rumors only on paper, reality is something else bitcoin is popular and it will continue to grow in future.
I don't think either that anyone hates bitcoins and these are not more than rumors etc. Some one can hate bitcoin only if it goes against his interest but bit coin has no such reason to be hated so it seems to be unbeleivable to hate bitcoins since it has only advantages for its users than disadvantages.
1215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Bitcoin not have been a better option for Zimbabwe? on: May 06, 2016, 03:43:55 PM
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-36210680

I quote "bank customers are not always able to withdraw the amount of US dollars they want because of a shortage of dollar notes in Zimbabwe."

This is one of the countries in Africa with the poorest population and the greatest need for micro transactions. I think this decision will push more people to use alternative methods of payment and also alternative investment currencies to protect their wealth. We have already seen M-pesa making in-roads into Kenia and other African countries as a alternative to their reserve currency.

The political instability in that country will not help in making sound financial decisions and they hate western influences, but they accept the dollar? ^hmmmmm^

You have to understand a few things here.
No so many people in that area can use Internet.
If they can use internet, they don't have enough skills and knowledge how to use Internet for finance, payments, sending or receiving money etc.
Even if they have internet and have some understanding about sending money or Internet, finance etc. what they can do with bitcoin there?
They can't buy or sell anything for bitcoin.
No, right now, I don't think bitcoin is better option for them.

I do agree with the information about the internet usage in zimbabwe is not that great like in other parts of modern world and people are not familiar with online transactions as well. even though internet is available but the usage of bitcoins is not that normal and formal forever one and not even  understandable to many.
1216  Economy / Economics / Re: Is gold better than Bitcoin? on: April 22, 2016, 03:55:20 PM
Depends, if it's based on big profit i will prefer bitcoin. Bitcoin has a potential to go high on price in just month. While gold price is slow and steady.
But on investing long term, gold is a way to go.
Yes of course and I do agree with that as well since Gold is slow profit and long term investment plan where as bit coin's speed of increase is faster and i may rise in a short time of months and so do I prefer bitcoins on gold since it is fast profit increment way than Gold.
1217  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2016, The Year of Bitcoin? on: April 22, 2016, 03:49:49 PM
That will be a great news if 2016 will bring happiness by getting increase in it's prices and i do hope as well that this year would be the best since it will motivate more people to join bitcoins. More people join means more business thru bitcoins and more prices increase and go higher.
1218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin survive world war III? on: April 22, 2016, 03:43:55 PM
It is difficult to say anything before time since bit coin is a currency and has no hold on the life of people and no influence on world politics so no one can predict if bit coin will survive after ww3 since we would not know if internet will be available after ww3 or not ?
1219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS BETTER THAN WESTERN UNION ? on: April 22, 2016, 03:10:24 PM
Bit coin is better only because its all online and transactions are smooth and cost effective since no office or money transfer charges are to be beared but on other side western union is better as well service wise and they are the one who introduced fast money transfer phenomena to the people of the world.
1220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin survive world war III? on: April 22, 2016, 03:05:07 PM
I have doubt for WW3 in 10 years. If technology and internet survives after devastation of nuclear war maybe BTC can survive...
If ww3 breaks out then biggest question is if humen will survive ? Bitcoin no doubt has stable future but on other side i am hopeful there will never be any ww3 since all people of the world are very good and wise and reject such ideas.
