World War III broke out 6 years, huge disruption to everybody, there was limited nuclear bomb detonation in two smaller nations. Internet is in a state useable but not reliable. Will Bitcoin survive? Will smuggler use Bitcoin to buy weapon, or gold to buy weapon?

why should gold have more value than bitcoin in a nuclear war like that, if anything nothing will have value, if not the essential things like foods and water

As long as internet serves keep alive i believe nothing will hit your bitcoins, sure a war would make bitcoins may be one of the main coin on trades, but that would be insane another war.Bitcoins would survive if the holders stay alive dont die on the war.

You can't just have an "unreliable" internet, I wouldn't think. If people go to use Tor instead of "regular" internet, it depends on how many nodes people are running; this will be especially necessary if there was something like a "internet meltdown" situation.
But if this apocalyptic scenario where to ever play out, are you really going to be sitting around and worrying if your bitcoin stash is still valuable or not? Hell no, you are going to be worrying about survival of not only your self, but humans in general. Better yet, you better be hoping that your nation isn't going to force you into the army or something through a draft...

It's a valid question, definitely. I do hope ww3 doesn't happen, but if we all go nuclear then bitcoin most likely won't survive. We'll be using foreign currency, seeds, or silver as money.

If other currencies can survive then bitcoin can also survive there is no doubt about it, bitcoin will be future currency and I don't see it disappearing for any reason.

Well, if it's an apocalyptic scenario with no internet, then bullets, sex and moonshine will be the currency. If the internet still works, then it will be bitcoin for currency, obv.

Nope. Neither will man. If there's another World War, I honestly believe there will be nothing left with all of these nukes floating around etc. To me it would probably be like Fallout (not in the sense of monsters and vaults). The population would be so sparse.
However, if the world wasn't destroyed, I think it would. It would allow people to trade between nations anonymously, even if the traders are on opposing sides.

Yes it would. Technology can be rebuilt, all you would need is to have at least 1 surviving full blockchain copy, to not lose all the record, so as long as 1 intact copy survives, it can go on. It's simply impossible that all copies ever of the blockchain disappear unless you blow the entire planet away, which is a pretty stupid method to kill Bitcoin.

Nope. All financial systems are kinda abstract. If the internet's looking shaky too then bitcoin is the last thing people are gonna hoard. I'm not selling you my bullets in the hope of a future revival.

It could happen. because money can change that. everything can be bought by bitcoin. bitcoin facilitate the purchase of equipment that tool. but I hope that the third world war will never happen at all. it is very bad for the state on this earth.

I think bitcoin will more popular when World War III happened, and using bitcoin for payment like buying weapon, bomb or any war things. It's more easy to use bitcoin for payment when world war III happened.

I have doubt for WW3 in 10 years. If technology and internet survives after devastation of nuclear war maybe BTC can survive...
