1201  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Google Ads data: $4M stolen through crypto phishing URLs on: April 27, 2023, 11:14:14 AM
The moment you visit a new website there is a chance that the website will display Ads and you won't be able to control anything unless you close the tab, some websites are this annoying.

There is no way you will browse on your PC and Ads won't do their thing, the solution is using an Ad-blocker.

I can't lose my crypto to scammers through my PC because I don't run any crypto wallet software on my PC, I believe doing this is automatically not safe, it is way easier to get into a trap while browsing on your PC than anywhere else.

Use an Ad blocker, get browser plug-ins from official websites, get an antivirus running, and be careful visiting any websites.
1202  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is a web3 casino for you? on: April 27, 2023, 09:43:59 AM
Any casino that claimed to be decentralized are running the business at its own risk, no casino should claim to be decentralized unless they are operating off the radar or in a country where decentralization is all that matters to them, FED forbid running an unregistered casino and the penalty is very severe.

The web3 name is just an attracting strategy, I have not seen any one casino that's truly decentralized or fully functioning on the web3, many new casinos are looking for a more effective way to attract many gamblers and they have to use what is presently trending in the world today, which is web3, metaverse and gaming and AI.

Any casino owner will proudly do the same today.
1203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why gambling and mixing called bad actors in bitcoin on: April 27, 2023, 08:21:09 AM
Did you say online gambling using Bitcoin? As if Bitcoin is the only currency you can use to gamble online, how about USD? If Bitcoin is bad because of gambling so is Fiat, and others, many people don't like gambling because the risk is the highest, it's on the same level with HYIP if you are familiar with it, gambling is gambling and most people don't like it, this has nothing to do with Bitcoin, some gamblers prefer to use Bitcoin as the currency for gambling if no casino is accepting Bitcoin no one will use Bitcoin for gambling.

Bitcoin mixers are for covering tracks when moving your Bitcoin but the government doesn't like this, they believe that bad actors, criminals, and drug dealers will be using mixers to move illegal funds around the globe and the money will be untraceable.

Mixers became a thing after Bitcoin was launched, bitcoin isn't to be blamed for this, mixer stands alone and gambling stands alone, if you don't like them then stay away, I have never used mixers for once because I don't need them but I do gamble responsibly, many people can't control their greed, such people should not get involved with gambling.
1204  Economy / Gambling / Re: Which are best stake alternatives on: April 26, 2023, 11:43:43 AM
The popularity of online gambling casinos doesn't guarantee you will win more than you lose, you can have more luck with less popular online casinos, for me, it's not about the popularity anymore.

Those popular online casinos reduce their bonuses and offer as time goes on, probably due to them becoming successful already so they don't see any more reason to keep attracting offers alive anymore, I've been hearing something like this from STAKE users.

Truth is you will need to try a casino out yourself to know if it suits your taste, there are so many options like Roobet, Rollbit, Punt, Sportsbet, Fortunejack, Betfury and so on.

You won't know what the experience will feel like until you try them one after the other
1205  Economy / Gambling discussion / How do you stay updated on: April 26, 2023, 10:24:45 AM
I start developing an interest in Boxing and UFC matches when I visited a relative, he is so into these types of sports and he seems to know a lot about it, by I have to keep myself from asking him what and what I should do to know more about such sports, I have this in mind to be able to make some bets or gamble on such sports, my problem is I don't know how, if anyone is into such sports where should I begin? Any special UFC or Boxing platform where I can read news and updates about such sports?

How do you bet on such games? What are the things to be on the lookout for? Because I believe this is different from football ⚽, I also don't have access to satellite dish like my relative does, this is how he is able to get the best out of these sports.

what information can you give someone like me?
1206  Economy / Economics / Re: Can I take a loan to invest in bitcoin? on: April 26, 2023, 09:21:08 AM
Taking loan is a life-threatening plan for those who have not much money in their lives, you can't be broke or lack something valuable in your life and decide to go for loan, this is why we see people taking their own lives once they are able to pay back the loan they took, this is also why I said that loan can be life threatening.

Loan do work for some people, in fact some made it in life through loans, but majority end up having way more debt on their neck than they are supposed to, if I have to take loan I would have already own some valuable items or things like lands, properties and so on, so if what I don't expect happens I will have to sell some of my valuable item to pay back the loan.

Taking loans to invest in Cryptocurrency can be life threatening, you are warned, nothing is more important than lining a peaceful life.
1207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spain's most anti-privacy and anti-crypto law comes into force. on: April 26, 2023, 08:06:13 AM
Calm down OP, this have once happened in my country and we are forced to stay away from centralized exchanges, all my friends including myself move completely to peer 2 peer exchange and do p2p trades to bank account or send money using p2p to buy some crypto, it's really not a problem if people in Spain know their way around this.

I also believe that this move won't last, I have not seen a country getting this tightened on crypto lasting longer, sooner or later they will know that they are missing out on something that the whole world is benefiting from, they will call it off and find a minimal fair way to approach this. Today this is no longer a problem here, now the government wants people to start trading in crypto using banks, but believe me, people have wised up, they just stick to the p2p trade, sayings it's even better and safer from the government.

It is as if the government's strictness helps the people in my country to get smarter and stay away from centralized entities.
1208  Economy / Gambling / Re: A reminder for gamblers to avoid FortuneJack (ongoing lawsuit, 120k usd stolen) on: April 25, 2023, 12:58:55 PM
I`m surprised. I see the FortuneJack about 5 years at least and i think that it is good casino with good reputation. I played their few times and didn`t like it but i can`t say something bad about it. I hadn`t any problems with deposit and withdraw, the bets counted correctly and i didn`t contact with the support. But it was small money.
I can`t say anything bad about casino or about the OP but as i see they both sure that they are right. In such situation i think that only the court law will decide who is to blame.
Do you believe that the court knows the right answer? It's very hard to tell, there is no such thing as caught in the act when it comes to online gambling casinos, even if their games are audited it still doesn't mean they won't have their way of cheating, you can never win a gambling casino when it comes to what is right and what is wrong, it's their pace, their home, their house, you can't beat them at their own game and there is no proof of anything.

Fortune Jack is not a scam until proven to be, I doubt this can be proven even if they are into scamming, I've never use the casino before and the few ones I use am satisfied with them, if Fortune Jack sucks on your end find another online casino, there are too many options this days.
1209  Economy / Gambling discussion / I am only trying to stay safe by gambling less on: April 25, 2023, 11:30:54 AM
I am not a gambling addict but some friends are making me look like one because I gamble less and they gamble more, it all started when we got into an argument that investing in Bitcoin is not the same as gambling, my friends who are gamblers, not full-time but more of a gambler than I am, are claiming that there is no difference between investing and gambling, they said if all you doing is investing money on Bitcoin you are no different to those who are gambling in a casino.

Still, I refuse this because I believe they are wrong, Bitcoin market has charts and I am playing with charts even if I am a full-time Bitcoin trader, all I need to do is read charts, and if I am good at it I will win vs gambling, where it's you vs a company which we can never tell if their games are completely fair or not.

Furthermore, I told them that Bitcoin investors tend to get positive results, while online casino gamblers tend to get negative results more than positive result, true or false?

I asked them to show me prove that they make more from gambling than they lose, none of them showed me, but I prove to them that I hardly have losses investing in Bitcoin lol .

Famz, drop your opinion on this, would you categorize these two as gambling? Because the only winning factor from Bitcoin investment is to just buy low and wait for a high price, it's not the same with casinos. Am I not making sense? I will like to hear from you.
1210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Most Reliable Halving Countdown? on: April 25, 2023, 10:12:42 AM
I know about Bitcoin mining since 2017 and I have come to understand that the halving can get closer or faster if the hashrate increases, assuming the 50% of Bitcoin mining hashrate is somehow removed from the present total hashrate, the next halving will take much longer, the reason why the date isn't accurate is because not all Bitcoin miners are loyal or stable? Some people mine coins 12 hours per day while some miners are always active, mining Bitcoin 24/7, the moment someone shut down their miner, the exact hashrate is turned off from the present max hashrate.

As you can see, this is why the exact halving date can't be accurate, the hashrate goes up and down as if it's a trading platform  Grin Grin Grin , if the next halving date is important to you then you can only set your target between April of 2024 to June of 2024, unless a massive Bitcoin mining farm decide to go out of business, it is not something to focus on right now, because right now accumulating Bitcoin is the most important.
1211  Economy / Economics / Re: it's so risky! on: April 25, 2023, 08:50:01 AM
I don't invest money easily in any asset because of fear of losing that money. i think of investing 80% of total savings.
do taking risk is important or not?

please quote all question and answer it's very helpful for me and others.
Living your life is risky, you can decide to sleep right now and never wake up the next day, if you are not taking risks you will never get anywhere, and you will remain in the same miserable spot forever, are you saying you invest 80% of your total savings or you are planning to invest 80% of your total savings? That's the problem.

80% of all your savings into crypto is way too risky, even if the only crypt you have in mind is Bitcoin it's still risky to go in with 80% of all your savings, you have a life to live and spending on yourself should always come first because life has no duplicate.

When you invest 10% or 20% of your total savings, you will build confidence in your decisions and your emotion will not play a negative role in your decision-making when the market is in a downtrend, be wise by always invest what you can only afford to lose, are you ready to lose 10% of your total savings or 20%? Find your answer and take the step.
1212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What things do you study while choosing a wallet? on: April 24, 2023, 07:21:05 PM
1. Custodial vs Non-Custodial   2. Open source vs Closed source

These two points of mine are very important for everyone to understand before choosing a crypto wallet for storing their digital assets.

Custodial Wallets

are wallets that takes control from users and decide to be their users private keys keeper, meaning they function just like the banks, they keep your assets for you, with this, many things can go wrong, they can decide to close down the business, and they will leave with your money, they have the keys in the first place.

Non-Custodial wallets

These wallets are better than custodial wallets because they give users access to their private keys or recovery seed, even if they go down some day you can easily import your recovery seed into another available wallet, everyone prefers using Non-custodial wallets because they are safer compared to Custodial wallets.

Open Source vs Closed Source

Open source wallets are more transparent, they leave every codes opened to the public, so when choosing a wallet, make sure they are open source, closed source wallets are secretive, they decide not to share their coding and stuff with the public experts and developers for full transparency, some said they are trying to avoid copycats and stuff, but users still prefer open source wallets and it's the best decision ever.

It does have a lot of complicated things but as a beginner, all you need to consider is it's a Non-custodial/decentralized and open source. Most of the users are concerned about centralized exchange because you don't have control over your money and at any moment the wallet or exchange could easily lock your account if they wanted and you can't do anything about it, unlike if you own your private key your the only one who has access to your wallet.

But if you have the budget you could just buy a hardware wallet which is the best when it comes to security overall. But I would still suggest Electrum as well. [GUIDE] How to Safely Download and Verify Electrum [Guide]
Mind you not all available Hardware wallets are open-source, I haven't heard about an open-source wallet that's custodial before, because most open-source wallets I know are non-custodial wallets, anyway.

If all users are only concerned about centralized exchanges then they are still lacking a lot about crypto wallets, the problem of custodial wallets doesn't end with centralized exchnages, there are some crypto wallet companies that are not operating any exchnages and still they don't give users their private keys, such wallets will ask users for email and password, as if you are signing up for a Facebook account, in the end they will disappoint.. A good example of such wallet is FreeWallet, a complete custodial wallet that ends up scamming many users.

So centralized exchanges are not the only thing to watch out for, there are dangerous custodial wallets out there as well.
1213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take Part in Gambling Lotteries ? on: April 24, 2023, 05:29:29 PM
I have gave up on casino lotteries where you have to fight with all your might to secure a better chance of winning, the stress is too much for me, you can top the top10 rank today, and in the next 24 hours someone else takes over, its all about fighting to grow your chances thats why I don't like it.

I have tried my luck with lotteries using freebitco and two different casinos online but I have never for once win any lottery before, after doing all the hard tasks.

Lottery is more demanding than gambling with what you have, I prefer using small money to gamble when I can afford it.
1214  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Having bitcoin gives confidence on: April 24, 2023, 04:08:50 PM
This is true, I have never talked about any other coins than Bitcoin whenever a newbie ask me about crypto investment, I always advise that Bitcoin is the safest one among the rest, even if they decide to go for altcoins I will still advice them to buy some Bitcoin, because the chances of staying alive is high unlike other altcoins that can rug pull or die at anytime.

Bitcoin will continue to be the best digital coin for my and it will remain the number 1 investment plan on my mind, if I make an insane amount of money from altcoins ,its all coming back to Bitcoin, my long term aim is having up to 2 BTC in my wallet, I believe that this is achievable through altcoins investments, but for now I planned to keep accumulating some BTC and also some altcoins.
1215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Chat GTP destroy poker on-line gambling??? on: April 24, 2023, 03:01:07 PM
I think it will be better if your question says. 'can AI destroy online gambling ' chatgpt is not as great as some new AI on the blockchain this days, for example ChainGPT, the advantage and capability of this AI is bigger, and better than chatGPT, there are others too that introduce newer features.

Some games require real players versus players, and AI will not be able to handle that, since it cannot read other players' minds or comprehend their emotions. AI can only excel at games requiring calculation, and these are the only fields where it can do so well.

In my view, AI or ChatGPT can't destroy poker games, and if this should become possible in the future, there will be a way to prevent AI from gambling online.
1216  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: April 23, 2023, 10:27:56 AM
Gambling is gambling

You can gamble with Your Life.

You can gamble with your house or cars.

You can gamble with anything valuable.

You can gamble with your crypto assets.

You can gamble with anything you want, it doesn't have to be money, and not using money to gamble doesn't make it less of a gamble, Prediction is also a gamble.
1217  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: do not exceed your targets on: April 23, 2023, 09:40:24 AM
Profit is profit, which one is holding because you have a target? Isn't that the same with having a Bitcoin 100k target in 2021 that got many wrecked? They aim for 100k pet bitcoin before they can start taking profits and 100k never came, they end up losing all the profits and now having to hold through another bear market, sometimes, holding can make you become so greedy, do not aim too high, have a doable positive point of taking profits, if your coin is already doing 10x in a bull market, it's the perfect time to start taking profits.

Do not be too greedy all in the name of targeting a particular price point, start taking profit when the bull run is ongoing, most times our price target is just a dream, you won't lose a thing taking profits but you will lose if you fail to take profits.
1218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today is the story of my investment in Bitcoin on: April 23, 2023, 08:27:45 AM
That's a cool loan offer you got their OP but I can never go on such route like you did, because I will be in worries for that 2 years, it will look like a whole millennium for me and I will worry about what could happen, what I may not be able to control and stuff, Bitcoin is still a risky investment and I can never advise anyone to go take a loan for such investment idea, it's a bad and risky strategy.

This is another good example of people going "do or die" on bitcoin, we all wish to have 1 Bitcoin but we don't have to go extra miles to make the dream come true, you have a loan on your neck and you don't know how Bitcoin will perform in future.
1219  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is something big happening behind the scenes that no one is talking about? on: April 23, 2023, 07:38:57 AM
A rumor about the upcoming recession is indeed going around, which could be a plus why those gambling companies are doing this, but this is a business we talking about, if they believe that reducing costs is the only way to lower their expenses and thus increase their gains then they should do it. This same thing happened in the last bear market where almost all big companies are cutting off their expenses and workers, I won't be surprised if the same thing is happening right now.

In short I will be happy, because of buying opportunity that this could bring for investors like us, it could be a big plan from bigger players to bring in a lot of money for less cheap Bitcoin and others.
1220  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you ever be afraid of holding? on: April 21, 2023, 05:34:01 AM
Oh absolutely. I even experienced losing everything after waiting for too long. So, it's in 2018 when I hold a new altcoin token called REBL, where they kick off really well at the beginning. All the team members are doxxed, and they really look professional. They had a big airdrop back then, and everyone hyped it. Everything looked cool, and finally they reached their ATH at that time. Then, as naive as I am as a beginner, I thought with this kind of project, we could reach a higher ATH at that time. I decided to not sell it. At the time, I was unfamiliar with the pattern. I was so naive. Then, I hold it so long because they promise us great development and partnerships are coming. Just to be disappointed because they changed their project direction into an exchange project, which then failed because of a lack of funds in the middle of the journey. That exchange never occurred, and they cancelled the project, causing the price to plummet to zero. What a nightmare!
It's a big mistake holding through a bull market, that must have been a painful experience, let me tell you that, no matter how good a project is, always take your profit in every bull market and put aside some fund to buy the project back in a bear market it you truly have a big interest in the project, so even if they later fail you already make a lot of money by selling at the ATH, we all have one or two painful lessons we learn in crypto space, I bet this is one of yours, accept your mistake and learn from it.

It's good to be fearful but when we are talking about investment and you have fear, it means you lack the knowledge about what you are investing your money on, if you understand what you are investing money on there will be no reason to fear, knowledge is power, knowledge kills doubt and fear.
