Spminer #5 https://github.com/sp-hash/SPMiner/releases- Fixed the pool latency bug (high ping) - Fixed the intensity option for amd cards (removed the cuda dependency) - improved the fee code to mine a few seconds every hour. ~1% - improved the Zilliqa switch so switch faster when zil mining is ended. Note that this miner is tuned for miningpoolhub.com and hashalot.net. You get around +10% more coins if you mine on these pools. Dual mine zilliqa with zilminer and proper launchconfig for another +15% profit
yes it could be, when you drop the next release with the fix i'll tinker around with the -i command & see, thank you
#5 has been released with a fixed -i parameter
Doesn't work with R9 280(x)'s anymore. Crashes the driver as soon as they start up. They work fine with SP3.
try #5 with the -i parameter Insane lag a few minutes into mining on any of my systems.
this bug has been fixed in #5
WHAT? WHY ALL MINING FEE IN THE FIRST HOUR
It doesn't really matter when the fee is calculated as long as you mine for a long time. But in#5 the miner is mining the fee a few seconds every hour. ~1%
EDIT: zil switch works very well, start time is perfect, but maybe the delay is a little too long at the end of pow window? Not much, but a bit.
#5 has a shorter delay than #4 for a smoother switching and longer verthash mining period.
So, for the 4GB card, it means to create the Zil dag in memory without loosing to much in speed during VTC time but being ready when zil time comes.
Ethereum algo integration is still in progress. spminer #5 loads the dag in 1 second per card in the rig for smooth zilswitching.(you need 8gb memory in the rig) zilminer already have the buffer cached. [moderator's note: consecutive posts merged]

Fee problems(the fee is mined in the first hour of mining): mine 1 hour and quit: fee 12% mine 2 hours and quit: fee 6% mine 3 hours and quit: fee 3% mine 4 hours and quit: fee 1.5% mine 12 hours and quit: fee 1% ... So if your rig is unstable and crash, restart every hour, 12% fee... Gpu search high intensity problems 1. Searching 500 000 solutions in a low difficulty. 17 solutions found. spminer will only report 2 of them. 2. Searching 500 000 solutions and the pool change difficulty and reject your work.(stale share) you loose 500khash 3. Searching 500 000 solutions and the pool change block and reject your work. you loose 500khash 4. Searching 500 000 solutions and the pool restart your work. you loose 500khash (nicehash, zergpool and other multipools does this all the time) 5. Searching 500 000 solutions and the pool have a new job. you loose 500khash 6. Searching 500 000 solutions instead of 10 000 require more gpu memory and more power. Make sure that your cards don't trottle and and feed them enough power. Spminer is faster in finding blocks. www.miningpoolhub.com and www.hashalot.net rewards the blockfinders and doesn't trow away the work in 2-5 that get rejected on other pools. As a miner you want to get payed for all your work. Mining on a fixed low difficulty will hurt pool performance because solutions are skipped.

-AMD,7 old Gen 1 & 2 GCN cards
The good old 7970 and rx 280. The 7970 is from 2013. It might be that the default intensies are too high for this card, so in the next version I have fixed the -i parameter. I don't use these cards anymore so cannot test it. But I will run some pool test on my rx 570/580 cards.

i have the same issue too i suspect the default intensity of the miner is either too high or the miner itself is unstable making the entire system unstable & causing high ping'd submitted shares,
Amd or Nvidia? Whats the specs on the rig. Wich pool. Are you dual mining with zil? Wich version of the spminer?. Whats your launch config? Whats the corclock, memory clock and tdp of your cards? Driver version?

|

We ran into some issue with SPminer on the p2pool after a while as well. For some reason after a long time the ping goes crazy high.
The ping is not high, it's the program that display incorrect results.. Will try to fix it in the next release

The algorithms that you want to incorporate in your miner are just fine for the smaller cards.
I think the selection of pool is important here. For spminer Miningpoolhub.com and Hashalot.net give the best returns. Up to 10% bether than the other pools.
EDIT: it's --skip-stale-work
This option is only for pools that give a penalty for stale/invalid shares. F.ex the Supernova pool. Every time you see a skipped solution, you loose hashrate poolside. Supporting p2p pools is difficult because of the rapid difficulty changes and low difficulty. It requires tuning and codechanges to perform well. For low difficulty you usually need low intensity. A high intensity meens that you give the gpu alot of solutions to search for in each bulk and this can take a few seconds to complete. This approach is good for solomining and high difficulty, but not good for rapid difficulty changes and pools with low diff.
But surprise surprise. miningpoolhub just see the opposite and paid accordingly! Giving spminer card a 10% $$ advantage compared to the other two. It was 24 hour, so it can't be luck. And its enough clear for me.
Poolside +10% faster than the Team Red and the SRB miner... First tests with the ethereum miner show promising results. A few percent faster than the competition.. More profit in the pockets of the miners.
only weird thing? your 1 % seem to be 1 % but it comes in a weird way in one big shot
The fee normally mined in the first few minutes of mining, then you get around 12 hours of mining without fee, and the fee repeats. Good results with Long term mining and rigs that doesn't crash. The competion is mining a few shares every hour here and there. [moderator's note: consecutive posts merged]

The next update wil include zilminer, ethereum, ethereum classic. This will take some time..

NVIDIA-SMI RESULTS--
The driver version is 430.26, with CUDA 10.2. --scryptr
Can you type the excact error message please?
|
|
|
I can not run spminer in my LINUX rigs.
Can you check the driver version? should be displayed when you run: $ nvidia-smi
best options IMHO, this is worked out with 6x p106 and electric cost of $0.27, using best hashrates for my setup on both algos..... 99.8% accepted in 48hours of mining with the vertcoin spminer. Thats how you get the last most profitable percents. [moderator's note: consecutive posts merged]

But how to do it locally? I know about the hashalot option, but we should be able to do it on our own machine with VTC node, and 0% fee?
spminer doesn't support solomining. Stratum only. But you can set up your own pool.
|
|
|
EDIT2: how can we setup the miner for solo mining? It is easy now, I find many blocks on MPH. Need VTC core, and then what?
I think it is okay to solo mine with 2MH+, if you will leave the rig on 24/7/365.
solomine on: https://hashalot.net/vtc-solo
|
|
|
With current difficulties/prices, both VTC and ETC are the best options for these cards.
You should set up dual mining with the spminer and zilminer. zil use abit more power than verthash, so make sure your rig can handle it.The zilminer can crash so set it up in bat with loop and disable windows error reporting.

i'm on windows, the -i command seems to be a CUDA exclusive
Yes, fixed the bug now. Will be included in the next release..
Sp_ somehow doesn't feel like packaging his miner to be compatible with older systems
I believe time spent elsewhere is more important. But maybe in the future. At least I have two linux builds now.. [moderator's note: consecutive posts merged]

My 1060ti and 1060 3GB cards are mining Haven (XHV) just now, about $10 a day's worth. I tried UbiqHash (UBQ) and it ran for maybe week or so on my 1050ti rig, using PhoenixMiner, with zero rejects. I finally did the math and was earning less than $1 a day. Each 1050ti had about 13.5 MH/s, rock steady.
Verthash spminer#4 (cuda 10.1 build) gtx 1060 3gb 380khash put 0.38 into the calculator https://minerstat.com/coin/VTC$1.41 /DAY zilminer 21MHASH (1 minute of mining every 100minutes) put 21 MHASH into the calculator https://minerstat.com/coin/ZIL$0.3724 DAY So you get $1.7824 a day a card (gtx 1060 3gb) with the spminer #4 with zil switch enabled and zilminer. My 1060ti and 1060 3GB cards are mining Haven (XHV) just now, about $10 a day's worth.
With 12 cards $21,4 / DAY with the spminer4+zil Perhaps worth the upgrade to ubuntu 20.04 or windows?
it works on my NVIDIA rig but on AMD it says "your system does not support CUDA 11.2 API" when i add the -i command, i even tried without the "--all-cu-devices" command
I guess there are some problems on AMD cards with the linux build. Will look into it. [moderator's note: consecutive posts merged]

how do i adjust the intensity for opencl/AMD ?
Same for cuda and CL, use the -i option comma separated for each device -i 17 (all devices) -i 14,15,15,17,18,19 (device 0 -i 14, device 1 -i 15...) spminer also support comma in the intensity for finetuning -i 14.1,14.2,14.3,14.4,14.5,14.6

PLEASE MAKE A CUDA 10 VERSION-- I can't update the drivers without breaking the system. I've tried. --scryptr
Spminer #4 linux cuda 10.1 build has been released. Should work on ubuntu 20.04 with nvidia driver installed Driver version must be 418.39 or newer https://github.com/sp-hash/SPMiner/releases/tag/4spminer_linux4_10.1.7z

Okay thanks. If you can't combine them, please add a v1 fix 14 with Zil miner switch if possible, that would be great.
I have included a cuda 10.1 build of #4, can you test it on your p106-090 rig please spminer4_fix1_cuda10.1.7z

try: $ ln -s libcudart.so.11.2.72 lubcudart.so.11.0
do I have to try adding memory ?
I managed to reproduce and fix the bug. spminer4_fix1.7z https://github.com/sp-hash/SPMiner/releases/tag/4[moderator's note: consecutive posts merged]

P.S. It does not run. I have CUDA 10 drivers, 440.26, I believe. --scryptr
cuda 11.2 you need >= 450.80.02 ++ driver
VTC on 1 RX580 rig is a top earner, using TRM.
Around +50% more profit with zilminer+spminer(with dual mining switch) than TRM standalone on the rx580. but 120watt, not 100...
I've got trouble, at stock with mining pool hub.. with shares as I can't have one valid on the first 100...
Thanks for testing. Do you use any unusual launch config? How much memory do you have in the rig and wich cpu? Did you remember to add virtual memory? 32gb should be enough [moderator's note: consecutive posts merged]
