New campaign PARKGENE
Min posts 30? 40? (silly and ridiculously high)

30 min posts per week is a common rule but it is a bit confusing whether the rule is 30 or 40 min post. As it said "must make 40 post per week" but it is also being said "min 30 posts to receive payment".
Aside the fact that the manager is a stolen/hacked/bought account. The rate is good enough imho.

Making that mistake alone should rise a red flag.
Min +30 posts per week is simply inciting people to spam the forums and is a pure hypocrisy to allow such ridiculous rule to continue in bitcointalk.

Can't believe some people donated 50 BTC for VIP  Shocked That's nuts! I guess back then it was a lot cheaper but still...

50 BTC was done by mining just 1 block and yes Bitcoin was a lot cheaper.
Donating to support the right side (crypto world) has no price  Wink

1206  Other / Meta / Re: Prohibiting Newbies from creating threads in Off Topic and Politics & Society on: January 05, 2018, 11:25:37 PM
How about not having a politics and society board at all? Only a few users find it useful, others just spam there.

Removing the jungle and merge it with off-topic is a good solution that i suggested in the past tho...

Adding to off-topic, politics and society, gambling, I'd like to add the alternative currencies section - > especially the giveaway and bounty along with the Announcements boards respectively to be the boards which do not add to the activity .

No, i don't support the idea of boards without activity, finding a way to limit the number of counted posts per period in some specific boards is better.
For example : making more than 5 posts per period in off-topic (the jungle merged with it) will grant you a maximum of 5 activities only.

Bring back the newbie jail for even better cause, I read what saltyspoon had to say on this, but with differentiated rules which someone suggested in a different thread, a huge amount of spam can be reduced. Have a test for campaign managers if they pass, they can manage, if not, tell them to fuck off.
Neutral with these ideas.
Forcing an escrow and a manager (same person or 2) for every signature campaign and bounties will :
1- reduce spam
2- reduce scam in our forums...
1207  Other / Meta / Re: A proposed sticky all about Activity and ranks on: January 05, 2018, 11:02:32 PM
Call me paranoid, but I have a strong feeling that a lot of newbie threads are just created by people who are trying to get in some extra posts easily by responding to an easily-answerable thread.

There will be some of that no doubt, but I think the vast majority are just lazy idiot kids who can't be bothered searching for anything so they just ask. I mean, what better way to rank up their account and get an extra post in the process because reading certainly doesn't get you any where and they need everything explaining to them. If we have some sort of introduction/welcome post that has links to all the rules and commonly asked questions about activity and ranks etc then they really have no excuses. If they sign up and ask the same questions then that shows you that haven't read anything and their thread can go in the trash. If we want to be even harsher we could just nuke their account. Maybe people will learn to read the rules then.

I was thinking about something well unrealistic tho.
Forcing newbies to read a sticky FAQ then to answer basic questions correctly. Once they succeed the basic test they can start making topics.

I even suggested a more radical (and painful Tongue) measure (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2467866.0)

I support the idea and my fingers thanks you hilarious for this topic since they don't have to write too much any longer  Wink

Edit : i will edit this if needed/have new ideas.

An advice : don't waste your time joining this "well-managed" campaign because you won't know whether you are accepted or not and whether you will be paid or not (of course you will not make a cent)...

Not an important update but for bitblender
We'll stick to bi-weekly payments, since I haven't heard anyone weighting in against it.
1216  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-03] Malaysia Will Not Ban Bitcoin Trading, Confirms Finance Minister on: January 03, 2018, 05:36:48 PM
This is the year when all countries must to accept their final decision about crypto currencies. Malaysia is moving in the right way, regulation of crypto trading will bring more money into the government's treasury, which will stimulate all the life inside the cointry.

Meanwhile, pretty much countries are moving to the wrong / dark side. Read lately some African countries banned Bitcoin : Morocco then Algeria, i forget whether a new Asian country has joined the losers team.
1217  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: January 01, 2018, 04:53:54 PM

I am new in this forum. I am very appreciate if you Can you give me more details with a sample how they count an Activity?

1- make constructive posts
2- ensure that you make at least 14 posts per period
3- you cannot get more than 14 activities per period
4- period = 14 days (more info when periods start https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12saLhlUoqIdairxzuSPu6EYGrt7FN2lOstO1yDjCEbA/htmlview?pli=1)
5- Failure to making at least one post per period will not allow you to get +14 activities for that period
1218  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcointalk Account price estimator on: January 01, 2018, 12:53:04 PM
This would work perfectly fine. The problem these days is most of the wallets that we use lacks bitcoin price estimator. It is true that the wallets show what is the state of bitcoin's value for the present time, but not on the future. I'm quite positive that with all the transactions and state of bitcoin recorded inside the internet, it is easy to figure out or estimate it's next status.

Hello, whether i didn't understand your reply very well or your post has nothing to do with the current topic!
What are you talking about? This topic is about Bitcointalk accounts, not about wallets and the price of bitcoin shown on it and how it could change.
Bitcointalk account informations would be better to avoid confusion.
