1201  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: List of ongoing scams on: August 13, 2013, 11:17:53 AM
How does the fact that some Just-Dice players have decided to use bots to place bets on their behalf have anything to do with the site being a scam?

It doesn't even fit your own definition.  There's nothing fraudulent or deceptive going on.  Lots of players openly discuss their bot strategies, and share their code between themselves.  Just-Dice doesn't endorse the use of bets, but doesn't have a problem with it either.  If your bot breaks and causes you to bet differently than you thought it would, you're responsible.

Again, I'm not sure what evidence you feel would help.  If you want a list of deposits and withdrawals for each user, that's not going to happen.  The same as it doesn't at any other gambling site.

Discussing scams with this idiot is not much different from discussing investments with the Aussie BBGG idiot. Good for entertainment value. Like, you know, playing chess with pigeons.

WTF is going on here!?!??!?!

Trannies doing donkey shows, back room deals between duplicitous shady characters.

Who knew BTCtalk was so exciting with such colorful characters?

Give me MOAR!!

I might actually work on a compilation of drama threads next week, for newbies to catch up more easily than I did.  Wink

The Bitcoin Drama Timeline.

LE: Done. I hope it's good. Posted it as a comment on reddit as well.
PS: Lovely ending, with the final line from The name of the Rose.

You're very close in fact, only a couple slight grammar errors. I'll see if MP is in a tolerant mood.

By the modern standard our ancestors would be labeled idiotic.

Nope.

What I know for sure is that MPOE-PR is ignorant and he knows it.

Are you with the Self Contradiction Brigade?
1206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NY regulator memo: Notice of Inquiry on Virtual Currencies on: August 12, 2013, 02:54:49 PM
Cross-posting from the Legal Subforum:

DFS seems to have learned from the industry’s reaction to the California DFI’s bare cease and desist letter.  DFS coupled their subpoenas with a public notice stating explicitly the purpose of their requests: to involve the industry in developing “appropriate regulatory guidelines” for the digital currency industry.  The Foundation will support its members and the bitcoin community as needed during this process.  This includes engagement with regulators and, where appropriate, legal defense.

The foundation is welcome to begin by publishing accounts of all the BTC it scammed out of members of the community, and by separating the treasurer and the executive functions. Ideally five minutes after it quits posturing as if it had any sort of relevance whatsoever.

The gall of the MtGox-BFL pushers, incredible.

1. Care to explain those ''mistaken assumptions''?

Nope. This isn't self directed education. You do what you're told for as long as you're not told differently. After a while maybe someone will take pity on you and explain more shit, or maybe they won't. Either way, your oral participation is not useful of its own accord. Speak when spoken to, and for now get lost as I've had enough of interacting with adolescent boyhood.

Nevertheless, much like the Open Coin scam implementing it, TOR as it stands is a dead project.
What about i2p? cjdns? I don't know much about them, but they have common principles.

Honestly I've not looked much into either, either.
1208  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why MP is your God. on: August 12, 2013, 02:32:55 PM
Typical idiocy

So now we come to the animus of all your braindamaged effort in this thread: you'd like for someone to give a shit about you. Splendid. You know you could have saved all the wasted effort if you read and comprehended this the first time I said it:

Your questions are broken, in that they make mistaken assumptions about the world which renders them unanswerable. That you don't realize this is what makes you stupid. It's not a matter of me calling you so, it's a matter of you being so.

Again: you think you matter. You are wrong, you don't matter. You think you pretty much get what's going on around you. You are wrong, you don't have a clue. Shut the fuck up and get lost, the cost of replacing you is below epsilon. Or, alternatively, go make "trade calls" or whatever it is that you do. Same difference.

Fucktard April current noobs.

Again it does not matter as the attack was not related to TOR.
It was used to get out of TOR.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

Anyway, I'm not saying onion (the protocol) isn't perhaps salvageable. Much akin the ripple protocol, it perhaps has some utility above zero. Debatably, and I don't care to debate it. Nevertheless, much like the Open Coin scam implementing it, TOR as it stands is a dead project.
1209  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why MP is your God. on: August 12, 2013, 02:03:14 PM
Here's the difference between you and your God: you know the answer mid August.
You're wrong here.
First, you can do two things with TOR (and not necessarily both):
* hide where the server is
* hide where the client is (already possible in current state of MPEX)

The recent attack was exploiting a website and inserting malicious JavaScript to reveal user's identities.
If there is a security hole in MPEX, you'll more serious issues anyway, but the JavaScript issue would likely not arrive as I'm pretty sure most MPEX clients are not regular browsers.

TOR itself was not compromised.
Is it useful to hide where the MPEX is? Certainly not now. But what happened lately is irrelevant.

The one thing you can do with TOR is not get involved with it.

At issue is not the ease with which US Terrorism installed an exploit on stolen property, at issue is the ease with which US Terrorism stole the property in the first place.

Much like Gavin's asshole, for that matter: free for a song.

1213  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why MP is your God. on: August 12, 2013, 01:17:21 PM
So essentially this is people continued trading the stock even while it's worth a fixed price, ok that's an explanation I can accept.

The dilemma here is this: either not say a peep to anyone and keep everything under wraps, in which case downstream (PTs and whatnot) will be caught in an information asymmetry if they weren't religiously watching irc/the trade channels and so you see some trading right after any announcement, or else tell the exchange OPs about it and see actual insider trading before the announcement.

Surely the ideal solution would be to have a circle of qualified and trustworthy people running exchanges and so be able to share that sort of info. The fiat world promotes the fiction whereby this ideal has been reached, but insiders know better. The Bitcoin world has much more serious problems, such as for instance people being too retarded to even understand why they should be dutifully following their betters rather than enacting their own braindamaged cluelessness into some sort of fortress of solitary independence. Which is why we get stuff like

Quote
Problem 4 : Permeating all the foregoing and sufficiently so to become a problem in its own right is the incredible arrogance of the recently liberated corporate slavebois working as independent coders. Seriously, start working on the BTC securities trade system of the future without ever having worked for MPEx, without having humbly presented your inept ideas to the most grandiose master Mircea Popescu (ie, me), without anything like that ? O, why, because you're a special little trainflake of brilliance and genius who can ? Really ?

or zero implementation of the exchange protocol or substantial cluelessness on the topic of AN0 months after it came out or etc and etc.

In short: once people professionalize we might get a better system. So far we're still struggling with the avatars of infantile idiocy, as this thread amply illustrates.
1214  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why MP is your God. on: August 12, 2013, 12:18:20 PM
I wonder are people who accept this kids acting the target audience of an exchange. An exchange that stupid people need to pay 3000 USD to use. And there's nothing much more to trade except the exchanges stock itself.

But that's about enough about MPEX.
MPOE - BTCUSD options.

And S.MG, the only actual business to so far come out of BTC. (Yeah, yeah, mining, I get it I get it. See here.)

Lurk moar.
1215  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTCT.CO] [IPO] [FAQ]BTCGARDEN MINER---Eyes to the horizon on: August 12, 2013, 11:33:48 AM
Dafuq did I just read?

You launched a multi million dollar business and got alot of investors to trust you and your business model
and as soon as some random scammer fag starts lying and trolling you, you cancel everything.  Huh

I bought some additional shares above the IPO price and was holding during the insane dumping,
because I believed BTCGARDEN would do well in the future and now I only get payed back the IPO price?  Angry

Sorry but I feel like I just got scammed.

1. Sell IPO shares @ 0.016
2. Wait for price to reach 0.0177
3. Dump a shitload of shares for 0.015
4. Go full kindergarten style and cancel everything
5. Pay back inverstors 0.016
6. Huh?
7. PROFIT!

Bitcoin garden consisted of a blog with stolen images. What "multi dollar business"?

I bought shares above the IPO price and was holding during the insane dumping, because I believed BTCGARDEN would do well in the future and now I only get payed back the IPO price?  Angry

I would be thankful if you even get the IPO price returned. Good luck!

Very much this.
1216  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why MP is your God. on: August 12, 2013, 11:23:54 AM
How do you expect me to tell you how something DIDN'T happen? That's not possible.

I'd like you to tell me how you'll shut the hell up, but that's never gonna happen.
In other news, your threads have gone from informatively insulting to downright and embarassingly cringeworthy.

You're giving MP and his business(es?) a bad name, not that that can do any MORE damage to their reputation.

Careful there, a burt hutt is showing.

Alright then, somebody got wind of the SD deal before it was announced, along with the price and bought up all shares below that price. MPEX is one of the places where the information could have been available beforehand. This makes you a potential suspect.

For the record, I never knew about it before I read about it on Trilema. MP obviously knew about it, but is the only one here that did and never said anything to anyone before Erik announced it. This anyone includes the numerous PT operators, which were (perhaps understandably) at least nonplussed by the shock of it. So, suspect away, but nothing came out of MPEx on the score. I have all this on divine authority.

That aside, the graph you point to suffers from the following defects:
a. it comes from an untrustworthy source;
b. fails to show anything out of the ordinary and
c. (as pankkake points out) is mistimed.

So no, on the balance of evidence nobody got wind of anything whatsoever and did nothing with it at all. The SA crew found about the whole thing late and just threw some words on the page more or less randomly. Which you know, is cool and all, but...seriously, that site used to benefit from a lot more intelligent effort, and it showed. Goonworld running out of people? Or just a dearth of smart ones?

Kids usually learn to not behave like that because it's super stupid.

How superold are you?

And there's nothing much more to trade except the exchanges stock itself.

Here's a hint. There's something super to be said for not listing every superscam on the block.
1217  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why MP is your God. on: August 12, 2013, 10:52:39 AM
Well, MPOE-PR could also explain us why she or he is being an asshole. Or does he think he's not acting like an asshole? Seriously. It's bad PR for MPEX.

What makes you think you have a clue about PR? You don't have a clue about anything else, why'd PR be the one exception?
1218  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why MP is your God. on: August 12, 2013, 10:22:19 AM
They'll probably be around longer than MPEX.

This is what Sean Smith thought, isn't it.

You didn't tell me how there wasn't insider trading going on.

How do you expect me to tell you how something DIDN'T happen? That's not possible.

What's possible is you actually building your case, as to what you think did happen. If you manage to step outside the pinko swarm mentality for a moment and actually articulate thoughts for yourself rather than simply re-hashing the entire contextual "words for their effect" thing.
1219  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why MP is your God. on: August 12, 2013, 09:43:24 AM
"Keen and incisive isn't the half of it."

I bid adieu, “for the joy’s gone out of me now, like the pee from a small boy in a swimming pool on a hot day.”

I'm still trying to figure what'd be going on inside the cranial cavity of someone calling anything MP ever wrote "mealy mouthed". It boggles.

More and more beating around the bush

Any time you're done presenting your original research in psychology-over-the-internet you may proceed to address any of the actual points.

But just to make it clear to the kids following along at home-- the consequence of all that is you were evicted from the channel, apparently to the reasonable satisfaction of "my betters".

This is actually untrue. The two bans quoted are the only bans MP ever had in -otc, and there was no "eviction", he simply stopped showing up. Which makes you a liar. Again, if anyone were counting.

Not to worry, I'm sure the consummate scammers of BTC will be more than willing to vouch for your "gold star" reputation. Like the people that shilled for Pirate. Or like the people that shilled for BFL. Or you know, all those respectable folk you hang out with. GLWT. For anyone else "keeping score at home" you're still an untrustworthy, duplicitous piece of shit.

At least you're enough of an idiot to manage getting yourself caught in your own lies within the space of a single forum page. Always good for a chuckle, such intellectual performance.

Your questions are broken, in that they make mistaken assumptions about the world which renders them unanswerable.

I love this and will have to save it to use myself.  I don't like when people ask questions with goofy invalid premise.  And not even saying that is or isn't true in this particular case...just saying it in general.

Just another public service I provide. (And no, you're not the first. You're not even the first this month.)

Wait, are you the guy who runs our EVE Online corporation 1Bitcoin?  Undecided

I am not a guy. Dudes, do your reading, seriously, it's embarrassing. You're not in BTC if you have no clue about anything, this is like asking Clinton if she's Obama. What Pashtun herds do you live amongst?

Come on MP-pr, stop showing yourself as even bigger joke than you already are. MP: your PR-lady is doing a very bad job. O wait, weren't you all the same? Atleast that MP-PR avatar is a stock photo, right?
You can make money and do business without being a total asshole.

Btw, MPEx is now doomed without S.DICE. But I hope you already knew this.

I'm sorry for bumping this thread...

I'm just quoting this so you can later laugh at how clueless you were. Or in any case, so we can.

Well, there is still S.MPOE on MPEX and MP is quite aware what this makes out of MPEX, hence the Backround of this Photo

Maybe this is also why he needs this masturbation thread to jerk off to?  Wink

The photo predates Bitcoin by a good few years. Your visual substitute for thinking doesn't cut it.

Why MP is your God.

LOL
You remind me of this guy i knew.
Every friday he would go to a random kintergarten, step in and start laughing at the kids for not having college education.
"Bow", he used to say, "bow to your god!"
Yeah, the kids prolly had it coming.
Good times.

That's pretty much exactly accurate, except a) the kids don't claim to have college educations and b) marauding retards like gmaxwell above are actually dangerous. The proof they're actually dangerous is evident if you consider the evolution of the US: not half a century of administration of untrustworthy, duplicitous pieces of shit of the exact same type took it from being pretty much the first in everything to being pretty much a laughing stock in any respect.

They must be discouraged if BTC is to succeed. Because, after all, we're not trying to build a kindergarten here, are we.
1220  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why MP is your God. on: August 12, 2013, 02:02:29 AM
A fact?  You mean snipes in a private IRC channel

No, I don't mean snipes. And no, not a private IRC channel, just a channel where retards such as you aren't opped.

Incidentally, the reason retards like you aren't opped is because channels where naive people op retards like you go to shit. The sociological term is Gmaxwell evaporation, ie that process whereby smart people leave and you are left, with your "coworkers" or whatever you call the other retards.

Case in point about slinging infinite shit and eventually getting a few hits.

Your original post is an excellent example of what I mean. You try to pass off two half truths in two lines. The first is trying to wash the dubious "oh hey, please make me look like I have control of BTC I don't have control of because for the lulz srsly". The other's trying to imply that Gigavps stealing from everyone is somehow related to MP. This is why you're universally despised: because, again, you're an untrustworthy duplicitous piece of shit. Don't let the passive politeness of the geeks deceive you: nobody [else] is telling you this because you're not worth their time, not for any other reason.

As for the "dutifully" and "laughing", you can tell the midnightmagic muppet that any time he's ready to discuss the supreme character of nzhang he's more than welcome to show his face again. I'm half tempted to dig through the logs for some actual examples of laughable insanity, but I'll pass. Not really worth my time.

But hey, if someone with a ignore throbby that has a color indicating some kind of serious urinary tract infection

Yeah yeah, you'd like to be cool, you'd like to argue with me and all that. Sadly you don't have what it takes, go back to porking the refuse of Wikipedia or whatever it is you do with yourself.

who can't handle being asked to stop distributing apparent underage nudies

This would be a third. Allow me to jog your memory, you untrustworthy, duplicitous piece of shit you.
