I don't think so because both short term investment and long term investment has the same risk although it is different for each amount. I still hold my bitcoin, ethereum and monero for a long term investment because I know if I can hold it, in the future, I can make a huge profit especially today the price is not yet increased too high. besides that coin, I have another coin that I think could help me to gain more profit and I still buy the coins if the price is down. it depends on how much we want to use our money and I agree that there is no limit to started invest in bitcoin or start in trading. we need to know which money that we don't use for our daily needs so it will not make some problem to us if somehow we are getting stuck in one or more coins. maybe $100 is good to start with one person and the other want to use $300-$500 to start and it is better we use that money to try to increase the amount.

if bitcoin trying to increase again then altcoin will crash but I don't know how much it will get down. we have seen this before when bitcoin increase back and push the altcoin going to down although it is not for all altcoin, it gives a big impact for all coins. I only hope for now on, the altcoin will make a new high price first and then if bitcoin wants to increase, the altcoin has a new position in price and if they are going down, the price is not dropped too deep like before.

I don't think that there is any altcoin which is a new coin will replace bitcoin because people now only focus with bitcoin although, for the veteran user, they still depend with altcoin to help them to make profits.
