12041  Other / MultiBit / Re: MultiBit - Waiting for "Connecting" on: September 22, 2015, 09:34:56 AM
Yesterday I installed Multibit HD 0.1.3 on my Ubuntu 14.04 OS desktop. All went well and I sent (and received) a small bitcoin transaction from my Android Bitcoin Wallet.

This morning, I opened my Multibit HD wallet and am still waiting for it to "connect". That was 8.5 hours ago. I will leave it running overnight to see if it is "connected" by tomorrow.

Port 8330 is open. The Verify network window shows Peer count 0 and Blocks left is empty.

How long does it normally take Multibit HD to "connect"?

It should take couple seconds if not instant to do that because it's a SPV Lightweight wallet that dosen't need to download the whole blockchain file like Bitcoin Core .
I'd suggest checking this : https://github.com/bitcoin-solutions/multibit-hd/issues/666 (jim618 is the developer of the wallet , so take his answers in consideration)
12042  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] SearchTrade.com - Probably a scam ! on: September 22, 2015, 08:23:41 AM
I know all things you mentioned , however he still can send his BTC to cold storage or Desktop wallet and sign message just to proove that his services are legit .

I will give you an example , if I'am selling a Legendary account for 1BTC and you are interested in it , however you ask me to sign a message and I find the execuse "I used Coinbase adresss all the time" , would you buy it ? definitely not .
12043  Economy / Economics / Re: Silk road impact on BTC price ? on: September 22, 2015, 05:47:19 AM

12044  Economy / Services / Re: FREE: First Class Quality: WEBSITE DESIGN / LOGO / BANNER / Flyer or Print Media on: September 21, 2015, 07:19:22 PM
I'd like to get a free logo to be honest , a logo that says Tai No need to say what each letter stands for what name but basically the names are for the creator of a company  (three creator , each letter for one name). & this company is about Programming in general (Phone , Win applications & Web aswell etc .. ) - should be PNG with transparant background
Note sure if I gave enough informations about this , if not feel free to ask more questions Smiley
12045  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: OVERVIEW: BITCOIN HARDWARE WALLETS █████████████████ Secure your Coins on: September 21, 2015, 06:43:45 PM

The idea sounds pretty nice and stuff however their website is totally fucked up and not professional at all , same goes for the soundwallet it self (as I said good idea but they didn't do it right) , like what the hell :

1. Order a record
2. Generate a public and private key securely
3. Add a password to your private key by using your wallet and/or encrypt your private key
4. Send private key to us
5. Get your Sound Wallet in the mail

But I suppose they gave good idea to developers , people could developpe a software that does that .

12048  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 2.4 binaries on: September 21, 2015, 04:29:16 PM
as I said on the post above I guess ThomasV is working on Dash coin now and not on Bitcoin

12051  Economy / Exchanges / Re: need best website to get bitcoin debit card or credit card on: September 21, 2015, 03:09:01 PM
How about this website guys : cryptopay.me?

You can read more about it here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1177150.0 but it's not very known , heard of it couple of times before only so ...
I'd recommend e-coin.io I tried them and they are pretty good , their card can be used to verify services like Paypal [Either Virtual card or Physical card] , for what comes to the Virtual card it's totally free 0$ however you need to deposit at least 10$ but they are totally yours there is no fees afaik .

Hello everyone, I'm at the province right now back in the Philippines and I won't be home till October 3.

I want to borrow 0.012 BTC for some personal casual spending, and I'll be paying back 0.015 BTC 4 days after loan has been fulfilled. If collateral is needed, we can negotiate through PM.

JM Erestain

I will be able to send this in 10 minuts if you could wait that time  . [No interest needed as usual]

12058  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Hive Wallet Is Officially Unsupported on: September 21, 2015, 10:31:50 AM
The Bitcoin wallet Hive is no longer being actively developed. In fact, the creator says that the wallet hasn't had much development in "over a year." Users are told by the wallet’s founder to move their active seeds over to a compatible wallet provider such as Bread Wallet or Mycelium.

Hive Wallet Founder, Wendell Davis:
Quote
“We're out of operating capital and have been for quite a while, so no one has really been working on Hive for over a year. By that measure, Hive certainly failed as a company, though there is a glimmer of hope."

And they also twitted :

Just wanted to let you know about this , so you switch in case you didn't yet . Grin
12059  Bitcoin / Press / [2015-09-21]TechStars MD: Banks are Embracing the Inevitability of Bitcoin on: September 21, 2015, 09:25:46 AM
Many people believe the success of bitcoin and blockchain technology is "inevitable", and banks are now starting to come round to this point of view, according to TechStars managing director Jenny Fielding.

Speaking inside the firm's FinTech accelerator in New York, which is run in partnership with Barclays, Fielding told CoinDesk banks are "ramping up" their engagement with the blockchain ecosystem.

"I can't speak for them ... but it seems like there is more of a willingness to embrace what a lot of the rest of us feel is inevitable," she said.

Barclays, recently named as one of nine banks working to develop a set of common blockchain standards, is increasingly vocal in its support of the nascent technology.

Having launched the accelerator scheme with TechStars in London at the end of 2013, this summer it signed a proof-of-concept with bitcoin exchange Safello and announced it would explore opportunities with another blockchain company, diamond tracker Everledger.

12060  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of the paper money on: September 21, 2015, 07:26:18 AM
If it's something made by the government or by banks then you should definitly know that it won't be private and they will have control of everything just like the banks right , nothing much will change .
and for what comes to the Paper money I don't think it will dissapaear , maybe on some countries yes but worldwide ?definitly not because some countries don't even use Credit cards for their transactions so ... yep
