12061  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: HELP WITH SETTING UP MINER on: March 19, 2015, 07:20:55 AM
Find a pool to join.  There is a entire forum here dedicated to BTC pools.

Also you might be aware with one u3 you will not see a huge amount of btc mined per day.
12062  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience BM1384 Project Development Discussion on: March 19, 2015, 07:18:19 AM
10 of our chips were free samples, but I wanted more to play with so we could get at least one full prototype out of it with extras to blow up accidentally.

To be more specific regarding investors or project donations or anything like that, we're deliberately not taking in outside money until the entire design is complete. For one, people tossing in outside money usually want to think their money buys them decision-making privileges and that's not how we operate. For two, if something goes wrong and we don't finish the project or by the time we finish the chips aren't available anymore or it'd cost too much to batch the boards, nobody except us gets screwed and we don't have to pay anyone back. For three, nobody should be asked to front someone else's dev costs. Isn't that the primary reason preorders suck? Because someone asks you to pay for a thing which doesn't exist and which they can't guarantee actually will? We deliberately do not do this. We've taken preorders before (our first batch of DPS2K boards were a preorder) but only after the design had been completed, and prototyped, and thoroughly tested on our own dime. That's the way it is and the way it's gonna be.
If we get in a real bind and we're really close to finished but unable to scrape up resources for a test PCB run or something, maybe MAYBE we'll ask for an advance. Or take it from the sandwich fund. But no big money until we're ready to manufacture.

I highly respect what your doing.  Making a product with no pre-order and making it on your own dime is rare.  But definitely nice to see.
12063  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitvisitor sugestions on: March 19, 2015, 07:13:35 AM
I know that Bitvisitor is a useful site that helps newbies to earn their first coins very fast.

But IMHO it has a problem: It creates too much dust.

My idea is simple: When a new address starts to Visit sites, pay every 60 uBTC.
But if that address collects 1mBTC, It could be a good idea to give payments weekly.

I know that a new user wants to have a fast payment, but older users will prefer less dust.

Recommend it to them, I don't think they will implement it, users who visit these sites like PTC & Faucets are brand new to bitcoin and they want to get paid as quickly as possible, even if it is dust. And older members when they realize that it's a waste of time, stop visiting these sites once and for all.

It just is so small of  payments.  It can cause dust and really is not worth it for amount of time.

It is really just good for someone who want's to play with a small BTC amount without any investment.
12064  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did you earn some bitcoin today? on: March 19, 2015, 06:13:20 AM
Today was not a good day for miners or those holding.

At losing around 30 dollars each it was a better day for buyers then miners.
12065  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: starting a small farm, should I get s5? on: March 19, 2015, 06:08:06 AM
It may be cheaper for you to just buy some bitcoins straight with the money and take your chances of the price going up. The S5 however is a pretty good option for a miner.

It is sad as I love mining.  But I have to admit I would do ROI right now.  At 250 it might be a good time for a lot just to buy BTC straight.

Mining takes low electricity and will be a little longer game with drops in price like today losing around 30 dollars each bitcoin.
12066  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New Diff thread Mar 8 to Mar 22. on: March 19, 2015, 06:06:15 AM
Well I agree with your SP20 but not really worth having 2 S3+ run just to make $1 a month. Most will just turn those off.

If low price continues chances are most would sell it to someone with lower priced electricity.

With price dropping too a 250 it hurt small miners a decent amount today.
12067  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Looking to get started with mining what to buy? on: March 19, 2015, 06:02:58 AM
I don't want to spend those sick like 2.5k usd amounts but i still want to be able to make profit from mining.
What miner should i buy and what should i buy to it?

I'd like to make some cash so i someday could make the money back.
Maybe buy another one or so Cheesy

But what miner should i buy? Should i buy a fan too it? if i should buy an usb miner then what should i buy too that.
I wanna know what i need to get started Wink " don't tell me that i should do it with my computer. "

Not possible, you cannot profit mining without spending quite a bit of money.  There are calculators available out there.

If you just want to try it for fun, pick up an S1 for $30 and run it.

Hm, idk.
Now that mining is over what should we do?
Sell electricity?

I am a little more of a optimist. I say it's not over for all.  But you do need cheap electricity.

Depending on electricity price I would say makes the decision of how efficient of miner, or if mining is a viable option at all.

12068  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New Diff thread Mar 8 to Mar 22. on: March 18, 2015, 10:50:08 PM
268 usd will slow mining in its tracks. I am thinking a solid drop to  240 would help lower diff more.

down to 255 on coinbase

It has been one disappointing day to say the least.   The BTC price keeps dropping and difficulty is not dropping anywhere near as fast.

Did I miss anything on news for the sudden drop i price?

UK is also going to regulate BTC. Probably more significantly than the US.

Thank you very much appears your exactly right guess I had not read news today: http://www.coindesk.com/breaking-uk-treasury-issues-landmark-digital-currencies-report/
12069  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ark Customized Version Of The A1 Chip Bitcoin Miner 1.5T ( low power consumption on: March 18, 2015, 10:47:06 PM
No offense but was this Google translated?  On first read I thought you might be from Texas, ore mining really?
Can't blame them on trying to use up all their old chips.  Was a price stated in there somewhere?

I think it could possibly be that some words are from another miner.  This looks and has same performance of the LKETC 1.5 T machine they made.

I wonder if it's really a "Ark Customized" or a LKETC made machine.
12070  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: March 18, 2015, 10:44:20 PM
Spondoolies-Tech user is one year old.
What a year....

Seems like a lot has happened in just a year.  Have fun but don't party to hard Smiley we that next gen gear.

But in all seriousness congratulations to you and your team.
12071  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Where to buy miners on: March 18, 2015, 10:42:33 PM
Buy from the manufacturer directly.

Other than that, buying used on eBay can save heaps.

If you have very low electricity and are getting old miners Ebay is most likely best choice.  If new miner manufacture chances are is best.

I think electricity price will determine alot.
12072  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience BM1384 Project Development Discussion on: March 18, 2015, 10:40:12 PM
Very interesting.  I wish you the best of luck with it sidehack.

I personally would love to see you make not a upgrade as much as a all in one.  I would love to be able to get it without getting S1's.  Just the miner it's self and maybe raspberry pi to run it.

One idea I have that could be a big market on upgrades is if you did it would be a dragon (A1) upgrade.  There are tons and tons of dragons out there that are at end of life.  If you could make a upgrade there that is something you would have no competition currently.

I want to invest in mining, And I want your advice :

1- Would I buy this product or not :

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bitcoin-Miner-7-TH-s-Two-KNC-Neptunes-2-EVGA-1200W-Platnum-Powersupply/171716807963?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D28773%26meid%3D0124c1fb3e9f4e9dba373b4fc9a34002%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D2%26sd%3D121590909668

And if the answer is no, How would you advise me about other products.

2- Or invested in mining Cloud.(And any companies advise me , and why)

Thank you  Smiley

I would recommend you consider an Antminer S5 from Bitmain as it is the most efficient miner on the market right now. Alternative if your power cost is over 10 cents per KWH would be to purchase hosted S5 hashing on Hashnest.

Either S5 or go SP way with SP20 or SP30,SP31,etc.    These are all pretty much the best on market.

There is a avalon product but I have not used it myself.
12075  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there a way to earn 50$ in a month from faucets ? on: March 18, 2015, 05:36:45 PM
In my opinion is imposibble to make 50$ in a month from faucets.
income from the faucet is not worth the time you spend  Grin
But 50$ in a month from Signature campaign is still posibble  Grin

I would agree.  With faucet it would take many many referrals to get 50 a month.

If you have a decent rank look in services forum and chances are you can make much more off a sig campaign.
12076  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Cointerra 1.6TH Units Exploding with flames shooting out. on: March 18, 2015, 05:34:34 PM
I have 4 Cointerra 1.6 TH units. And plugging it in resulted in it exploding. The capacitor exploded.

So is this the first time you have plugged them in yourself?

Yes, I like to find the root cause, before all of them are toast.

Chances are with datacenter it mined at 220.  Are you able to take PSU's out of miner and look at them?

It is rare but I did have different brand miner (A2 30 MHz) that the 110/220 switch was against case and you could not see it unless psu was taken out.
12077  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: I Ordered 2x Antminer S5s and All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt on: March 18, 2015, 05:31:47 PM
You are not the first to be disappointed by bitmaintech with poor RMA service.
I suggest posting on this thread often and maybe they will send more coin to you. This may end up being closed by mods and you may be told to post in the main s-5 thread.
I wish you luck in your quest for better compensation.  I will say this is a polite thread and well written. Keep plugging away.

Well, that's shameful. My impression was that Bitmain was the most reputable asic company out there. I was shocked that Yoshi would even tell me that my miner was working when it clearly wasn't - like somehow he was going to convince me otherwise. Eager now to see what comes out of 21 Inc.
I posted a link to this thread in the main S5 thread. If it gets deleted, I'll repost this thread over there.
Thank you!

They sell good gear that works almost all the time, but it something is broken  they are not great at taking care of customer. Just keep trying and posting.

I could just be lucky I never have had problems with Bitmain service.

Only thing tied to them is syscooling gear that was a huge pain with my first batch c1's.  I hope they do not team up again in future.
12078  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New Diff thread Mar 8 to Mar 22. on: March 18, 2015, 05:28:36 PM
It really does look like downward trend is causing less hash:

Bitcoin Difficulty:    47,427,554,951
Estimated Next Difficulty:    46,444,875,248 (-2.07%)
Adjust time:    After 612 Blocks, About 4.4 days

Very interesting I wonder how many miners are turning on/off with difficulty changes.

Currently a little under 270 on price.

I feel for those that ordered the  469 usd s-5's due on march 30th.

That would make sense.  We have not heard much about next gen still.  So I'm guessing it's pretty small amount.

But those S5's would be in production chances are by this point and being burnt in.
12079  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: hhuummm Bitcoin and credit cards on: March 18, 2015, 04:49:12 PM
You wont really find any options that offer based off credit cards.

Or else it would of been a really known service, the only way you can utilize your credit card is probably invoice yourself on paypal and then cash out, then buy bitcoin.

I believe coinbase does offer it.  You have to link a credit card to your account and get it verified.  It's required to have a CC to get the highest level on coinbase.
12080  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help my transaction stuck for 10 days on: March 18, 2015, 04:47:09 PM
I had made a tx with blockchain.info wallet and it don't confirm in 10 days (it is not double spend, paying 1 satoshi fee) and I can't use the coins now. What can I do?

A some have said a TX id will help us really see whats going on.  I'm guessing fee was too low for transaction to take so long.

If it get's stuck in limbo with this you might need to learn how to double spend with it not moving in 10 days.
