12061  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you were rich, would you still gamble? on: July 05, 2016, 06:39:32 AM
If I were rich, I would still gamble for fun as I do it now. Maybe because I would be rich not because of gambling, but of other stuff (some investments as an example). IMO, I don't think that generally anyone can get rich of gambling.

You can be rich in gambling. But it will still take you a lot of hard work, even harder than a regular job. Here is a list of gamblers who became rich http://www.therichest.com/celebnetworth/category/celebrity-business/gamblers/

But what they went through is no joke.
12062  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling loses and wins on: July 05, 2016, 06:07:21 AM
I've played in bitcoin gambling like sports gambling and dice.
I often lose so do not know how I lost and I never win and get 0,004btc.
You are even lucky because you only lose that small amount, I know you are a newbie in gambling but one advise I can give you, if you want to win you increase your bets but if you feel you are losing most of the time, quit gambling early.

In the case of sports betting you can learn the skill and win consistently. I don't believe sports betting is all luck but it is a factor but you can still definitely find an edge if you know what you're doing.
12063  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: is gambling worth to try for newbie? on: July 05, 2016, 06:02:10 AM
hello there,
i was newbie to bitcoin.
already collected some from faucets, service and giveaway.
is gambling worth to try for me?
or it can be double edge for me?

If you want to gamble for fun, sure it's worth it. But judging that you worked hard in getting your bitcoins from faucets and giveaways, my advice just stay away from gambling. You will regret doing all that hard work for nothing and it might start a bad cycle for you.
12064  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should I invest in bitcoin casinos? on: July 05, 2016, 05:41:09 AM
I have $3000 USD to invest, is it worth it?

What sort of returns should I expect
i was looking for investing in BTC casinos,it is looking great but... i dont like it anyway,in most sites you need to invest minimum 1 btc or a little less.
Anyway if the house edge is implemented you should always get profit at long term... unless casino is a scam

Investing on bitvest.io only requires 0.01btc as what I've read so having 3000USD is sure a lot.
you can be a casino partner if you can submit a proposal to them. but that  is if they are open to partnership.
Where is more profitable than investing with moneypot.com? I heard some gamblers here recommend to invest in moneypot because that site is profitable, really don't know, anyone has the experience here?

It would be better for you to hold your bitcoin than to invest it somewhere. It is a good idea to invest, but you should know the people behind them.
12065  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling made for kids???? on: July 05, 2016, 05:39:15 AM
Someone just argued with me that gambling can be done by kid too.. Huh

Not a good idea to train a kid to gamble for they may find it normal to gamble money intended for something else.
on the other hand its good to train kids about money so that at a nearly stage they see how to save and earn money. it is important so that they learn accounting.

Yes that's very true. If the foundation of the kid is revolved around gambling he could become a degenerate. I'm not saying that is 100% sure, but the odds are high will become one.
12066  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much can you earn with gambling? on: July 05, 2016, 05:37:03 AM
As for me i do not think there is allot to earn with gambling the only thing you can earn is allot of luck and when you get that luck in the casino you will get allot of money but luck will not stay always at your side so do not think everyday it would not help.
That is true, do not trust your luck in gambling because it is a traitor to make your lose more, I read in the other thread that there was one who bet 0.005 and turns that money into more than 1 BTC but due to greed he end up losing all (capital and winnings).

you shouldn't trust your luck because it is not something that can be predicted and planned upon. you should only play for the fun of it and earn whatever you can and be happy if you win at all and take something with you home becaues it is gambling and it is risky so it is supposed to be bad.

There are games that depend on luck and there are games that depend on skill. If you want to "earn" from playing games then gain the skills to win. The games I'm referring to are sports betting, poker and black jack.
12067  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling problem on: July 05, 2016, 05:34:53 AM
I see there is so many people trying hard to stop gambling their money because they've losing so much
If you not ready to lose your money, then don't even try to gamble!
its hard to stop because once you get on loss, nobody wants to agree that you just wasted your goddamn money.
Thats the reason of it,everybody wants it back and well, the best would be if you would earn some too.
The problem with gambling is that once your losses are accumulating, the urge to get back those loses begins to grow. The more you lose the more you want to gamble on getting it back. And once you are already hooked on gambling, even if you have already get your loses, you will still keep on gambling and hoping that you will earn big from it...

gambling is all about control and if you can gain that control then you can easily stop the losses that you are experienceing so you can fix it later but if you have no self control then that is the situation that will lead to disasterous results and make you lose a lot of money over time without even noticing your losses accumulating.

But if you have control, then you don't have a gambling problem. That's why there's a problem because there's no control. And the worst part is they hide the problem until it's too late.
12068  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: July 01, 2016, 01:24:34 AM
Yeah I don't like it either. I honestly like the cars they way they are without the cockpit protection. I hope they drop the idea for another year or two.

In other news, there are rumors of Force India driver Sergio Perez being linked with Ferrari and might transfer in the off season. Perez said that he "won't rule out anything because anything can happen in motorsports." With these rumors about Ferrari looking for another driver to replace Kimi just cements the fact that this is his last season with them. I hope Kimi gets in another team. Sad What team, do you guys think, will accept him?
12069  Economy / Economics / Re: A Global Recession on: July 01, 2016, 12:58:48 AM
Anyone have any thoughts on a global recession happening? Brexit obviously a huge deal, and people are talking about the breakup of UK and European Union.

Obviously, times like these make people very happy about having cash reserves to take advantage of opportunities. Anyone have any thoughts on the next 6-24 months? And how would this affect the bitcoin economy? Would like to hear some thoughts/opinions.

It's not just EU, China is in big trouble too since
Asia/Middle east got problems with the low oil prices, which make the rich oil countries go borrow money..
US > A potential Trump threat <-- this seems to be the biggest problem of them all
Brazil > corruption

So yeah quite some things are going on which are influencing the market. I think the reason bitcoin isn't booming, is that investors are scared, and not sure what to do and retract to the safe gold.

By saying "bitcoin isn't booming", are you referring to just the price? Or the bitcoin economy as a whole? I ask because I have seen a couple of comments that btc is akin to gold as a "hedge or safe haven" in case of an economic crisis happening. What is your take on this?
12070  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Chinese Miners Revolt, Announces Plan to Hard Fork to Classic on: June 30, 2016, 02:04:13 PM
Cross post from /r/bitcoin.

According to the Chinese translation, summary:

Core defaulted on HK consensus and doesn't honor 2M increase.

Chinese miners to unite to implement Classic which supports 2M increase and SegWit.

Urge all miners to unite to support the Terminator Plan - ( i think it implies to terminate Core's 0.13.1 which doesn't honor HK consensus).

This is truly a war by miners against CORE.

https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/4qk7et/wow_chinese_miners_revolt_and_announce_terminator/?

It looks like the Chinese mining cartel are now trying pull the strings.
12071  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: June 30, 2016, 10:28:26 AM
There are signs that Kimi Raikkonen might be let go by Ferrari. Who do you think would be the likely candidate to replace him? Daniel Riccardo would be a good fit to partner with Vettel in my opinion.

Thoughts?

dont think that red bull would release him that easy infact i think he will stay in RB but for kimi everything is possible he is just like that kimi cold
i will go that if Ferrari need fresh blood they will go for some driver from gp2

Who's the most likely driver from GP2 that they could possibly get? I think Ferarri would rather get someone with experience in the F1 and get someone from GP2 as back up driver.

Also Ferrari will trial ‘halo 2’ cockpit protection in Austria.

We could be seeing a lot of this design on 2017. Formula 1 has been pressing ahead with plans to introduce cockpit protection.

Andrew Luck re-signs with the Colts on a long term deal.

What are your opinions on this? Love him or hate him? Because there are people at both ends of the spectrum here.

12073  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price predictions for after the halving on: June 30, 2016, 07:23:01 AM
I'm curious as to what would happen to signature campaigns--if anything--if bitcoin went to, say, $10,000.  By my advanced math, I would be earning $3 per post (30K satoshi) at that point.  Do you think places like Yobit would still be paying such an outrageous amount for posters?  I have a hard time believing they would.  I was not paying attention to such things back in 2013 when we hit $1200.

So yeah, $10K would be bitchen, although I wouldn't exactly stand by that as a prediction.
that means I would be earning $60 a day for it. thats good. it may not however happen  since they would probably change their rates.

Anyway, I suspect the devs these days are trying to create more ICOs this time just to grab our BTCs leaving us their new coin/tokens that won't double after halving.

I concur. They are out there to make profits in bitcoins because it is the only cryptocurrency that is considered as the closest to "money". Instead of focusing on creating some value for their own altcoins, they blatantly scam people into buying their "idea". But not all are scams. I believe there are some that actually want to create and build something that would be beneficial to society.
12074  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016 U.S. Presidential Election Prediction Thread on: June 30, 2016, 06:42:56 AM
Yes. The odds are on Clinton's side apparently. Though Trump may be a joke but sometimes you need someone out of the box to run a country. And at this day and age, a money wrench that is Trump could just be the thing needed to fix a broken machine that is the United States.
12075  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NFL Off Season on: June 30, 2016, 05:35:31 AM
Just sharing an article from a month ago.

http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/15667689/congressional-report-finds-nfl-improperly-intervened-brain-research-cost-taxpayers-16-million

Congressional report says NFL waged improper campaign to influence government study

All this concussion stuff is making the NFL look bad. The article is basically saying that the NFL is trying to control the scientists in charge of doing the research in order to make any reports as biased as possible.
12076  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 200: Cormier vs. Jones 2 on: June 30, 2016, 04:49:33 AM
This really is a full stacked card! Most of the match ups are so good, I can't wait until next week.

My first impression of the match-ups:

Jones > Cormier - No question here. Jones is better than Cormier.

Hunt > Lesnar - I don't think Lesnar has trained well for this fight.

Nunes > Tate - If Tate survives the first round, which she will, her chances of winning are higher in later rounds.

Edgar > Aldo - We may not see Aldo of old for a while after a humiliating loss to McGregor. Meanwhile Edgar has improved more and more.

Velasquez > Browne - Cain is just too strong for Browne. Browne could get TKO'd or KO'd here because of his weak chin.

Actually among the the 5 fights, Jones vs Cormier is the one with most us having second thoughts. Jones have a lot of personal issues lately which may have an effect on his training camp and focus however this is also a good way for him to prove that even there is some personal issues behind him, he is still focused with his craft.

I don't think that will affect his performance in such an important fight. Cormier has no answer for the riddle that is Jones. In order to beat Jones, you have to be better than Jones. Cormier just isn't enough vs one of the best MMA pound for pound fighters of all time.

I just don't see Cormier out-wrestle Jones, out-strike Jones and even outsmart Jones.

Yeah! It's still over a month away but I'm also very excited. Preseason starts on August 7 and regular season starts on September 8.

12079  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I buy now? on: June 30, 2016, 02:48:07 AM
Bitcoin is around 560-580, should I buy or there's a chance that the bitcoin will hit a lower price any soon? What abou the bitfinex?

In my opinion, no. If you hold bitcoins, keep holding. But if you don't hold any just stay put. It's very risky buying into it now because we do not know where it's going. The momentum is gone and we have no clue if there's another wave of buying coming. Everyone is cautious now.

12080  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your aim in gambling???? on: June 30, 2016, 02:41:23 AM
I do it as a form of entertainment and fun, and of course, if I can make a profit, I am happy. I think it is a good way of entertainment, and can make sports games very interesting if you bet on a sport.

This is true. Sporting events do become more interesting when you place a bet. I have a weakness for NFL and MMA betting. But more on MMA. I love watching the sport and I wouldn't mind placing bets in all the matches and also the prop bets. Grin I have not made any serious money in it honestly but having small wins here and there would be a plus in the fun factor.
