12121  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: "Dogie checked, issued one controller card" - Help/Thanks! on: March 16, 2015, 10:09:21 PM
Have you submitted a ticket to Bitmains support?

Just checking as "This situations was run by dogie, who said to enter a ticket with "Dogie checked, issued one controller card", which I think I've done here." sounds like you just are submitting problem to mining support forum not their support system.

I shall now submit a ticket with bitmain support. Should have asked for further details & clarification on what to do next.

Thanks notlist3d! And if around, dogie, please chime in.

Not a problem! They have some good guys who should be able to help Smiley
12122  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What's more lucrative - mining or high rank signature campaign? on: March 16, 2015, 09:23:45 PM
25 BTC is a lot for either.  It depends on how much mining equipment has and how much it makes in profit.

I would say do both personally.  Yes hero normally gets paid more then Sr.  But it is in your best interest to do both.

Why though? Signature campaign is free money as it pays out for posting which one wouldve done anyway. Mining on the other hand costs a lot and is not sure to give profits. Any extra money would be better used to buy Bitcoin directly.

It depends on person.  I still am making some of mining.  I realize it's harder now then when I started but with low electricity it still can be done.

It would depend on costs of a person can do both.  If lucky you can do both.  I do agree for some buying direct is best option.  And I admit I enjoy mining so if I make a little I'm happy.  It is a fun hobby for me.

With mining you have to watch it closely. For example during winter I can expand, and in summer i sell off some.  I cannot do the 12000 watt + I did in winter for summer mining.
12123  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: March 16, 2015, 09:18:24 PM
Can I join after I get this thing off?  Undecided

shorena said it was put so that I do not sell it or ask for a loan.
I asked to change it to neutral trust, but he said it won't get much attention, which is actually right.

This is not getting over https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=982538.msg10783159#msg10783159
Probably will take weeks.

I would guess you will have to wait till after it's off.

As far as not getting much attention I think most see you as I do with "Trust: -4: -1 / +0(0)
Warning: Trade with extreme caution! "
12124  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are people incentivized with [btc] to run nodes? on: March 16, 2015, 09:05:53 PM

Interesting read.  I did not see it maybe I'm blind.  How much is it paying?

Coindesk has a interesting article on false nodes: http://www.coindesk.com/chainalysis-ceo-denies-launching-sybil-attack-on-bitcoin-network/
12125  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool on: March 16, 2015, 08:49:03 PM
Yeez, have antpool just given up? I find it hard to believe that there is no solution to this problem.

BTW 0.0Hs for several hours now.

Same here my miners all switched pools.  I can see 2 big losses of miners in 24 hours.

Is there any updates as far when it should be fixed?
12126  Local / Primeros pasos y ayuda / Re: Pricipiante perdido on: March 16, 2015, 08:38:07 PM
Did a google translate.  It is not so much about software you download as much as miners you buy.

For most scrypt miners at this point GPU lose money.  It makes more sense to get a Asic and use it.  That being said do ROI as scrypt is hard to make money at currently from mining.
12127  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What's more lucrative - mining or high rank signature campaign? on: March 16, 2015, 08:27:11 PM
So, this isn't a self serving question, just curiosity.

What's going to get you to 25 BTC faster, mining or dedication to a signature campaign with a high rank (Sr Member or Hero)?

Maybe the better question is how long does it take for a miner to get their first block reward (of 25 BTC)? I can figure out the breakeven on the sig campaigns.

Based on your timing guess, how much equipment investment is required?

The answer to your question above in bold is mining.

25 BTC is a lot for either.  It depends on how much mining equipment has and how much it makes in profit.

12129  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Remote web access to a miner on: March 16, 2015, 08:19:42 PM
I use Team Viewer and it works great. You need to leave your computer on while away and if your afraid of power outages then use a laptop so the battery will give a couple hours of backup for short outages. But I used to even reboot my computers with Team Viewer and it worked great.

TeamViewer is a great product for this.  With it even if your IP changes your login can get to your house computer.   Once logging in it would be like you are home and can access your miners on the network.
12130  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Mining on a SailBoat? on: March 16, 2015, 08:16:36 PM
Hi. I live on a Sailboat. I am wondering if it would be practical for me to try mining? I have a wind generator going to two 12v leisure batteries and free wifi using Alfa Tube 2H. Gets hot in the Summer where I am. I also have access to electricity I would have to pay for at the Marina. I understand I could not hope to use a powerful machine.
Would like to try and get something small, perhaps 12v, that would not run too hot and would still provide a little income for me in the long term, especially in the winter when it is cold and perhaps no fan required. Or am I dreaming?
Is there some hardware might work for me? I am not technically minded and it would have to be almost for dummies.

How many watts do you get out of generator? What are you paying for electricity that is not coming from wind?  That will be a big factor.

I think it is a little bit of a dream to be honest hearing it.  I'm guessing noise and heat will be a issue within your boat.
12131  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: mini setup (not alot of money to plunge into it) on: March 16, 2015, 08:11:45 PM
thank god for that xD
so with the new updated price will i see any profit do you think?

You will see a profit if you mine now and then BitCoin price gors up a lot. In that case you will be making a bigger profit if you simply buy BitCoins now. It is also a lot less work.

I would not promise that.  With "electricity cost: £16.82 KWh" and less than 250 GHz of gear it will be hard.  Chances are you will be lucky to pay off the gear even at that electricity price and miners you mentioned.
Hard?  Check out my post above showing the numbers.  Even not factoring in initial hardware costs at current BTC->GBP conversions OP is losing money every day by turning those miners on.  Even if BTC went up to £350 OP would barely be covering the electricity to run the miners - and that's given the current difficulty, which is going to change in less than a week's time.

Maybe I was not clear.  But I was not referring to your post.   I was referring to the post i quoted.

I meant it is hard for BTC to go up and make this profitable.   This is because of the amount of money being lost mining each day, it would take a drastic change in price.

And if it's going to take for a price increase in BTC to make this profitable then a person would be much better off to just buy the coins in the first place.

That would be true in this case.  Some people are better off mining.  Yes number is getting fewer and fewer but still are some out there.

It varies between miners depending on cost of mining.  Lower the electricity better off you are.  Also more efficient gear helps.  USB miners are mostly a item you will never make back.   It is good to learn mining with, just not enough powere for money.
12132  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining operation on: March 16, 2015, 08:08:17 PM
Current update';

The appartment does need rewiring to handle 25 th. The cooling is al set and will manage. We allready had 5 AC's that are very powerfull in the apartment. I am still looking for good hardware deal, unfortunatly most suppliers are sold out currently.

Regards,

Zeksal
What miners are you looking for S4 or Spondoolies? You won't be able to get S5's for a while =/ but they are more efficient.

We have been asking this for a while.

With price and 1T unit mentioned I'm guessing it is a Dragon 1T(A1).
12133  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to make money on this forum on: March 16, 2015, 06:08:20 PM
A simple and fast to make money on this forum is Signature Campaign.
Why??Because you can get money or btc just posting on this forum  Grin
You can earn up to 0.1 per week or +-28$  Smiley

A signature campaign is a good way to bring in a little cash.  The higher rank you get the more you will bring in.  Partially because you get more and more space and can do more at higher ranks.

Other way is selling services on here.  That would depend on your skills.

And there is always buying and selling of products.
12134  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: hhuummm Bitcoin and credit cards on: March 16, 2015, 06:05:27 PM
One thing for sure, always double check the place you are buying from (especially with credit cards) and make you it is a well known place to buy and check for positive feedback.

Also if you have to use credit cards you might look into one that you can do "virtual credit cards".  With this you can set limits to card and also not use your main card with a large credit line chances are.
12135  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: how much bitcoin incoming in per month ? on: March 16, 2015, 05:56:58 PM
I have around 3 th and I paid a fix price for electricity (+ solar) So right now im doing fine but like evryone said before mining for home miner is now almost useless, unless you have very cheap electricity.

Im wondering what will happen if all the hashpower get split between 5 or 6 big farm ?

If it does go that way it is scary.  Chances are it will be split among the companies producing gear I think.

I am just hoping difficult keeps moving low and btc raises a little bit in price to give home miners a little more time.

What I'm worried about is next time BTC halfs.
12136  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Help me please. on: March 16, 2015, 05:32:28 PM
KNC is not the most loved company.

I would suggest S5 or SP20 on ebay if thats where your buying.  Depending on electricity price older equipment also makes sense.   It is very much individual costs that are different for each home miner.
12137  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New Diff thread Mar 8 to Mar 22. on: March 16, 2015, 05:25:02 PM
Just usual trolling guys to keep you in perspective, analyzing block after block or even day after day has no value. This is not like checking factory output where any change has its reason, finding blocks is random process within some rules. There maybe absolutely no hashrate change behind +/-2% difficulty change, it's just the blocks finding probability.

Do you mine yourself? I find it a fun to spend a little time.  I would not agree with thread having no value.  I find it fun to speculate.

Sure we all could just wait till difficulty change and not guess.  But that would not be much fun.
12138  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: secure way to print paper wallets ? on: March 16, 2015, 05:20:12 PM
Are there any simple instructions on how to use this anywhere?
Find and old printer, It will have enough resolution.

Remember to print two or more copies and keep them safe (in different places of your home).

Print 7 addresses / page, don't waste paper.  Tongue

I will add three things :
1-consider printing on a paper that resists to water or to protect the paper.
2-encrypt your wallet paper with a simple code for some added security
3-store your wallet papers very safely.

Number 3 is especially important.  If you have a safety deposit box it is very good for it.   Or have a decent safe at home.
12139  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: hhuummm Bitcoin and credit cards on: March 16, 2015, 05:17:09 PM

Mind that the fees on coin.mx when depositing with credit cards is 7.5% and their bitcoin price is 10% higher than on the market.

You better find an ATM or just register with a an exchange, or even try coinbase.com or https://www.circle.com.

I highly agree with using coinbase.  It will take a little time to setup but is well worth it in long run.  With credit cards the fees just add up and most don't want credit card purchases.

In less then a week you could be set up with coinbase.  One thing I suggest is opening a checking account just for it to keep your regular checking account not touched by anything on web.
12140  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BITCOIN CORE on: March 16, 2015, 05:14:19 PM
I downloaded BITCOIN CORE 10, i will use the work PC which is a CORE2DUO and 5GB RAM ,INTEL HD GRaphics(it can't mine via this GPU) so only CPU mining. How much bitcoin can this PC makes daily, can it make 0.001 BTC daily Huh? And is Bitcoin mining automatic with Bitcoin core (which many websites claim to be)Huh Thanks in advance.

You can look into alt coins but I suggest doing ROI math sadly you chances are will lose money.

If you are wanting to mine I suggest a standalone asic miner.  If you look in hardware you will find a few good ones.
