There are plenty of posts in this forum about police shootings and police brutality, and invariably, a comment about how bad cops murder a citizen, then the tax payers are on the hook for their defense and an eventual settlement. With this in mind, should police be required to carry an insurance policy to cover payouts and lawsuits related to their behavior while on the job? Doctor's are required to carry malpractice insurance, why not cops? Protect the tax payers from bad cops.

It would be great if this insurance is applicable. Currently many cops misuse their rights and punish citizens even though they are innocent. If they are proven guilty, in some cases they are suspended but usually it doesn't happen. This insurance would make them more responsible and they wouldn't take law in their own hands.
12164  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS impregnates 9-year-old girl on: April 14, 2015, 09:39:14 PM

I would say your comparing two different things... the case you posted about a Buddhist is one person, of a certain faith, raping a girl.  He is not raping the girl and citing buddhist beliefs as the justification for doing it. Your not going to be able to find a buddhist belief that can be twisted into "its ok to rape a girl" and your probably not going to be able to easily 'spin' any reference in the Bible, unless you just completely make up a belief that doesn't exist. ISIS and other organizations that stem off from the Islam religion seem to quote specific and detailed references in the Qu'ran which gives them the 'feeling' that they have a God, prophet, or whatever behind their actions.

I am comparing a RAPE with a RAPE. The reasons may be different but I don't care why did the person commit this crime but the only thing that matters is that he committed the crime. He may quote many reasons but that does not make his crime meaningless. A criminal always thinks what he has done is right and quotes a religion or another reason for his crime and then people start debating on it. This indirectly SUPPORTS the crime saying that here religion is at fault and NOT the criminal as he committed the crime because his religion tells it is right. Does this mean that all people who belong to that religion should commit such a crime? Why not blame him instead of the religion?

I agree that some beliefs are wrong but it's finally the person who commits a crime and not all people who belong to that religion commit such crimes.

In other cases, people blame movies/alcohol/the girl's character and say that their crime is justified. It's wrong as the criminal committed the crime because he WANTED to commit the crime. Here as well those criminals wanted to assault that girl and hence they did it no matter what they believed in.
12165  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS impregnates 9-year-old girl on: April 14, 2015, 05:51:20 PM

Just saying what I see, members of ISIS are Muslims and they're killing and raping innocent people in the name of Allah Jihad, are they not?

Wasn't Saddam a Muslim? Wasn't Osama Bin Laden a Muslim. Open your eyes and see the last 10 years terrorist attacks all over the world, recent ones include, attack in France, Australia, Pakistan(Children), Kenya(Children). All done by Islamic Terrorists.

I am just stating the obvious and I understand if it pains you as you must be a Muslim yourself but it is the truth and the truth stings.

I have read cases where Christians, Hindus and all other castes have been involved in such crimes. Some say buddists never committed this crime then here goes a case: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2176747/Buddhist-monk-repeatedly-raped-teen-years-impregnated-her.html

I don't know why everyone connects such incidents with a religion as other people who assault girls do it for fun or because they are MENTALLY SICK and they have no right to live.

If not religion, then people blame the country. That's the reason I don't believe in any religion/country/case. I only believe in HUMANITY and if one is a good human, they will never hurt or assault any girl.

In this case, the people are mentally sick and hence they assaulted that innocent child and such people have no right to live whether or not they belong to any religion.

I'm feeling so bad now. I checked the price is $219 and now it is going to decrease even more.  Cry Fortunately, I have only $6.5 worth bitcoins else it would be a huge loss for me. I'm about to panic now.
$6.50 ayfkm?

What's AYFKM? I know it's a very small amount but there's no need to mock me for that as I earned it and did not use ponzi websites/gamble my money.
12167  Other / Archival / Re: quickseller on: April 14, 2015, 05:39:46 PM
@alani123: Could you tell a possible safer way to do #1? You can't, without changing password. Escrow will either have to trust seller or escrow will have to risk his/her service to make it possible which an escrow won't or mustn't do.

@worhiper_-_: Your terms put escrow and/or buyer in risk. Quickseller came up with usual terms which all good escrow do to protect buyer and seller. I can't see a valid point in this.

AFAIK he left a negative feedback because your terms were shady and when Quickseller came up with good and safer terms, you cancelled the deal which most scammers do.

That's just an ASSUMPTION that he can be a scammer but here there is no proof of him scamming anyone. If one has to assume anyone as a cheat, nobody would be doing any transaction with any member out here. That's what's wrong with the trust system that it works on an assumption and one does not need a solid PROOF/EVIDENCE that the person is a scammer. It shouldn't work on assumptions.

If one isn't happy with the escrow's terms, he has a RIGHT to backout. There is no rule here which states that he/she should accept his terms else he is a SCAMMER.
12168  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Payza, Bitcoin, and Unauthorized Exchangers on: April 14, 2015, 05:14:53 PM
I have a verified Payza account and it has a 2% fee if I withdraw via bitcoins and plus it is mentioned that it may take 1-3 business days. If I withdraw today and get paid after 3 business days, will I get the bitcoins at today's rate or the rate on that day when I receive the bitcoins?

Also, I used to use PZ and never was charged any fee as I had a verified account. Now they charge fee. What verification is required to not be charged any PZ fee?

I have about $4k in crypto.  Not panicing at all, could go to zero I wouldn't be too upset.

$4k OMG! I know $6 is a small amount but still I am feeling bad as I have lost a lot of bitcoins earlier and I earned them by doing small jobs  Sad

Please don't say zero.  Cry
12170  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTS] BTC for Perfect Money/OKPay on: April 14, 2015, 04:16:16 PM
I have 0.02764796 worth bitcoins which I want to sell for an equivalent amount via PM/OKPay. Buyer needs to go first.
There is no reason why escrow should not be used. Your lack of reputation makes it so it would be inadvisable to send funds to you first.

The escrow service would be able to check the business records of PM/OKPay in the event of a dispute

I don't owe anyone any explanation of not using an escrow. If you or anyone else doesn't trust me, it's fine. I know many people who trust me and I exchange with them where they go first. I have already seen the RISKS of not using an escrow so thanks for your advise.

And when there are no scam accusations against me, why should it be inadvisable to exchange with me? I too don't trust you nor anyone here so that does not mean I would say it is not advise to trade with you or any user.
12171  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin is a ponzi game on: April 14, 2015, 02:35:09 PM
No. Bitcoin is used by ponzi websites but it is not a ponzi game but just a virtual currency. It's just like forex and stock markets where there is no surety of the price and right now it's $219.

12175  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS impregnates 9-year-old girl on: April 13, 2015, 03:09:13 PM
Because of some bad people, the whole community is having a bad name. I am not against of any religion but all the good people from Islam should do something against these organizations.

Totally agree with this. Instead of blaming any religion, the good people should help to stop such crimes and support the girl. May be this can bring a change and other girls wouldn't suffer. It takes only one person to help and others will join in.
12176  Other / Archival / Re: quickseller on: April 13, 2015, 02:55:54 PM
The account was checked. The OP still backed out of the deal. This was stated multiple times in the past. The issue of it being a good idea to check the account first is a moot point.

But the OP said you dint check:

Back to the events on a chronological order, afetr the seller agrees with my terms, you send me terms saying that I should pay on your escrow address first, disregarding my terms without a thought. Your excuse was that the transaction wouldn't be secure. Let me tell you something, you couls ask the user for a link to his profile and a sign message, custom post or anything similar. This way you could verify that he owns the account and just check if what he said about the account's rank was valid just with a link.

So you have no excuse when you say that you wouldn't check on the account just with a link, I told you to do it, I didn't though I'd have to tell you how to do it since you're supposedely experienced with that kind of stuff. No password change=no public logging, but you could still, securely check the account with the term I set.

*******************

Anyways, if the account was checked and the OP still backed out of the deal, does it mean he wasn't interested in paying you? It appears as if he wasn't happy with you as an escrow and found you unprofessional. He neither cancelled the deal after sending you the payment nor bought the account and took the details from you and then cancelled the deal. If it was the latter, the trust rating would be right.

At the end, it's your wish whether to remove or not the trust rating and I just gave my POV.
12177  Other / Archival / Re: quickseller on: April 13, 2015, 02:36:26 PM
From what I understood, the OP just wanted the escrow to confirm if the profile of the account being sold matches with the information provided to the OP. It could be done by the escrow just getting the profile link and the escrow could tell the OP that he has checked the details and they match/do not match the description and also mention that he does not have the username nor password yet. Then the OP was OK to send the bitcoins to the escrow after which the escrow would confirm the transaction, get the username and password from the account owner and change the password. If the account owner provides the escrow with a different account whose details don't match with the account profile link he had given earlier, the transaction would be VOID and the escrow could provide the bitcoins back to the OP saying that account seller was a FRAUD else the transaction would be complete.

I don't get why the OP was given negative feedback when he had made his terms clear that he just wanted the escrow to have the profile link and verify the details with just the profile name and not take hold of the password. I know that the escrow's terms did not let him check the details of the account before funding his account but if he does not agree to it, there is no reason to give a negative feedback. It is just that the deal dint work out and in no way it proves anyone was not trustworthy.
12178  Other / Meta / Re: Petition freeze avatars indefinitely on: April 13, 2015, 02:07:32 PM
Must remove avatar feature again!

When I could upload an avatar, I dint find the need to do so. There's nothing special if one does have or does not have an avatar. It does not make anyone superior  Undecided

I have now uploaded an avatar after almost 2 years and don't mind if this feature is removed again.
12179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin? on: April 13, 2015, 02:05:13 PM
The price of Bitcoins is more than any other currency and it is pretty similar to forex and stock markets where one can trade bitcoins by buying them at a lower price and selling them at a higher price. That's the reason many use bitcoins.
12180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: eBay and PayPal Confirm Upcoming Separation, Support for Bitcoin Payments on: April 13, 2015, 11:20:07 AM
One thing good that if bitcoins are recognized by PP, they won't freeze my account if I send and receive payments but PayPal should first change their chargeback policy and make it safe for buyers and sellers and then bitcoins could be worth trading via PayPal. Ebay is just useless when it comes to trading digital goods. They charge fee even when the product is not sold.  Lips sealed

Also, braintree has a withdrawal option to banks but I guess only US banks as it is using coinbase.
