So both bitcointalk and r/bitcoin is administrated by the same person but with entirely different agenda with those sites.
theymos has the most control over this forum and the subreddit. But the subreddit mods aren't mods here. /r/Bitcoin is supposed to be a BITCOIN subreddit. So Bitcoin Cash discussions aren't allowed there. That's what most mods of the subreddit delete (people claiming BCH is the real Bitcoin, claiming that Blockstream owns Bitcoin and it's controlled by the banks, etc...), meanwhile, this forum is more open to this kind of 'trolling' and discussions about BCH/other altcoins.

You do realize that the head moderator of /r/bitcoin is theymos the same person who owns this forum right?
TBF, there is no censorship here. While no one can deny that the mods of /r/bitcoin do delete some stuff that doesn't fit their agenda. You can talk about BCH here (in the Altcoin Board, obviously), but not in that subreddit (because it's actually /r/bitcoin and not /r/bitcoincash).

Are there features in place now, that can enable a user to not see the signature worn by another user or not to see his/her avatar?
Yes. 1. Go to: Profile -> Look and Layout Preferences; 2. Checkmark "Don't show users' avatars" and/or "Don't show users' signatures";

|
|
1. Change your twitter username temporarily; 2. Do the audit with the new username; 3. Change it back to your original name; 4. Done! Free re-audit!

Hello Boss, please is it possible to recover a banned account even after an appeal has been sent to admin? Thanks
Probably not. Most times the ban is deserved. What's the reason of the ban? Btw, why are you posting with that account if you got banned? That's ban evasion.

I have just tried installing Bitcoin Core recently as I was told its more secure than other online wallets, but i need some help regarding the following:- - where to set the secret phrase Do you mean your password? Or seed? Bitcoin Core doesn't have a seed. You'll need to back up your wallet.dat file. For password, go to Settings -> Encrypt wallet. - how to know my private key How to export your private key (ignore the importing to Omniwallet part)- My receiving address is it the same or does it change It changes every new transaction. - if my machine crashes how do i restore my funds (i know they are stored on the blockchain but how to have access to it with BTC Core??) - what files do i need to backup and how to RESTORE it on a different PC or after PC reformat/crash ??...
Your wallet.dat file.

No, I dont have any other account.
Maybe the PM got deleted by a mod? Doesn't look like a fake email, otherwise, he wouldn't have put yahoo's fake PM inside a quote and it wouldn't say "by Fourge".

It's 3am here and bloody hell it's bright as day thanks to the colour outlay of this forum.
Use f.lux to help with the eye strain. It makes the screen yellowish (less blue) and lets you turn down the brightness of the screen. It's a life-changing software.

There are nothing wrong with web wallets. It's just not as secure as a desktop or hardware wallet. A web wallet can get hacked easily.
i.e: Someone can send you a phishing link, you click and try to login to your web wallet. Intimidatingly, the scammer get your credentials and can take your bitcoin from your wallet.
A desktop wallet does not cost any money like some of the web wallet. For any kind of wallet, you need to keep a backup of your seed. If you have your seed then you can restore a wallet anytime.
So, how there is nothing wrong with web wallets? Did you mistype your answer?

If you are not an EU citizen and/or doesn't want to provide your ID and proof of residence to a third party, then you probably are out of luck. Most Bitcoin loaded cards only work for EU citizens and 99% of them need KYC verification. If you don't meet both requirements, you can use a website like TheBigCoin to buy anything in the internet with BTC.

Solution: On Self-moderated threads when the author deletes the post intended for bumping their bump to the first page will be voided and they will go back to the page where they last stayed.
I don't think this is going to work. They usually leave the bump and only delete it to post a new one. So, imagine the situation: 1. OP posts a bump; Thread goes to the first page. 2. When the thread is down, he deletes the bump; Thread goes a few pages back; 3. OP posts a bump again; Thread again on the first page.

thank you for both of your links. are both programs able to detect and recover wallet.dat files or do i have to make a special configuration or install plugins? i remember using recuva once a few years ago. back than it only recovered pictures, office and .txt files.
Just choose to scan for "All Files", select the directory of your HD and search for it (checkmark Deep Scan for better results). When it ends, look for your wallet.dat file.

Either use an Adblock extension like uBlock Origin ( firefox/ Chrome) or a specific extension like minerBlock. They will block the mining scripts.

as far as i know there are two ways to recover one's btcm first: having the private key, second: getting the wallet.dat - right?
i don't have access to the private key, but i do have access to the hard drive, the wallet.dat was on (althought deleted, might be overwritten, might be not). what ways do i have to a) recover the wallet.dat b) get access to my btc again?
That's right. If you manage to get your wallet.dat file back, you can recover your wallet. You can try a recovery software like Recuva or EaseUS.

I am just a bit curious to the domain ".ai". Is it artificial intelligence? Or a domain of a certain country?
"ai is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Anguilla. It is administered by the government of Anguilla." Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.ai

He got all his merits for this: Yes, this is what he does for a living now. That is why he created crypto and bitcoin at the first place. Smiley So, not the reason.
