Next time either use the "Report to moderator" button (for simpler cases like this one), or post in the Reporting copy/pasting mega thread so the Meta board doesn't get saturated with reports about plagiarism.
12162  Other / Meta / Re: Better Theme? on: August 22, 2018, 08:46:52 PM
There is no theming options integrated to the forum software.

But you can use third-party apps/extensions like Stylus (chrome/firefox) to use other themes (usually, dark themes).

And a few other dark themes:

Those are bumps, which are allowed once every 24 hours.

I had skype horoshko86, and the purse bitcoin was not listed as there was a referral link to mining.
I can go to skype horoshko86 and confirm my identity. http://prntscr.com/kldzzu
The admins won't accept this. They barely recover accounts verified with a signed message, so the chances of them adding you on skype to do any kind of verification are astronomically low.

The same happened to you:

Your previously provided documents are now considered not enough/not clearly visible to pass verification. The exact reason is provided in the e-mail body.

It's just a security precaution to avoid Money Laundering.

We've checked some submissions and asked our users to re-do their KYC verification. There's nothing to be worried about.

Blockchain is a data structure that enables the creation of a digital ledger of transactions and shares it within a distributed network of computers. It utilizes cryptography to allow each participant on the network to use the ledger in a secure way without a central authority.

Once a block of data is recorded and placed on the Blockchain ledger, it’s extremely hard to change or remove. Blockchain can be hacked in theory (it would take decades and a supercomputer), but in reality, it’s impossible.

So, in my opinion the blockchain is needed for security.

Blockchain is a revolutionary new way of sharing information and is clearly a valuable and transformative technology but cryptocurrencies are just a fad, the latest bubble from tulips to tech stocks. So, why care about cryptocurrencies at all? In truth, the two are  inseparable.

The tokens that make up cryptocurrencies (from Bitcoin to Ether to Monero) are the means by which one participates in public blockchain protocols. This is not optional. It’s a fundamental feature of the technology. If a public blockchain protocol is valuable, then the tokens through which one participates in it accrue value.

12167  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: August 21, 2018, 07:37:02 PM
This isn't a video-game, this is forum.
I'm glad you noticed that. So, you don't actually need any merit since you can post and have a discussion regardless of your rank, right?

So lets break this down in elementary terms; the majority of the highest ranked BTT members dwell only in BTC sections, so therefore more likely to merit in those locations to where they are biased and most recognized within. Again, why should anyone feel the need to milk the tits of these members, again for kudos? Worthless system.
Because the altcoin board is a shitshow. 90% of the threads are either shitcoin ANN threads, bounties or redundant and useless discussions which easily turn into Spam Mega Threads. It's been a few months since I visited the altcoin board for the last time.

"Tons of users" is subjective. How many tons out of how many total users? The amount of merit given on a daily basis will be drastically decreased years from now, due to the replenishment rates. While you have some justification here, you need to >farm< this out in specific forum boards.
"If we sum up all the user accounts with last activity within this year from Jr.Member to Legendary + Copper members, we get 90993 users". 90993 users out of 2 million registered accounts. If we remove all the Jr. Members and Members spammers who only care about doing bounties, there are only 25544 active users. From DdmrDdmr's merit dashboard, 312 users already received at least 100 merits.

You clearly have not done any research into my profile, and failed to understand my post. You refute and defend the system all you want, it doesn't make your contributions to BTT any more significant than mine. And from your profile posts, it's pretty evident your contributions amount to nothing, just basic support and the occasional constructive posts that are far and few. I'm confused why you have so much merit for those elementary school posts? maybe you're milking the right tits
Yes, I did check your post history. Congratulations on your work of shilling/working on shitcoins who are nothing more than a money-grab scheme or doesn't have any real world utility. I hope you enjoyed the 3% of your now dead "Nevra" shitcoin. Cheesy

P.S: I actually received "227 merit 164 times, from 91 profiles" - according to BPIP; A good number of tits indeed.

Maybe you should only rank up if you deserve? Have you thought about this?

If you haven't noticed, you still need from 775 to 1030 activity to rank up to Legendary. This means that if you create your account right now, you still need to wait almost 3 years (while being active) to rank up. Are you saying that you can't get 1000 merits in 3 years? It's been only 7 months since the merit system was created and there are already tons of users with 200+ merits (a median rate of ~1 merit per day), and 18 users with +500 merits (~2.4 merits per day).

Please, stop crying about merit and start doing something useful. The only "elite" that BitcoinTalk has is the group of users who actually care about the forum and try to contribute with something instead of joining shitbounties, spamming about ICO/shitcoins or crying about merit.
12169  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bittrex (Back up KEY) on: August 20, 2018, 09:51:50 PM
It's probably your Bittrex 2FA seed. You can import it in a 2FA app to generate the codes.

What you can do is generate a QR code with the following text format:

otpauth://totp/Bittrex?secret=YOUR-SECRET-CODE-HERE&issuer=Bittrex

And scan it into your Google Authenticator app. Then, use the code to login.

You can generate a QR code here: https://qrcode.kaywa.com/

This shit again? Don't worry, theymos is working on it.

I'll get right on that, just as soon as hell freezes over.
12171  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [WARNING] Fake Ledger Live app on Play Store on: August 20, 2018, 05:43:50 PM
In case of fake Ledger Live app it would not be necessary to waste any time or talent, the very fact that application ask for user seed as the starting point of use would be sufficient to be rejected. Or just by contacting Ledger and ask them do they release official app or not. In most of cases it would not be necessary to coders waste their time, they can take certain number of people with solid knowledge of cryptocurrency to check apps only by common sense.
Google would have to know how does Ledger work and why the app is malicious for asking for the user's seed. It's the same as saying that they shouldn't ban cryptocurrencies ads because they should know (and research) if an ICO is legit or not. That's simple too much work...

Anyways... I'll be locking the thread now. PM me or create a new thread if you still want to discuss something.
12172  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: August 20, 2018, 11:11:22 AM
What does activity include?
It's literally in the main post. Stop being lazy...

The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Rough summary of what this means: If you post once per day on average, then you will eventually get the maximum number of activity points that you can get. Posting more than once per day on average is useless for increasing activity. The maximum number of activity points you can get is 1 per day, but your activity score only updates every two weeks. Therefore, it will take about 100 days to get 100 activity if you post once per day on average.

Binance's plan to initiate its DEX is on the going.. On August 9, Binance unveiled its demo of the first look of its DEX on Binance Chain, marking a significant milestone on its public chain -- Binance Chain, nonetheless there're tons of work to be done aggressively yet.

Huobi, an international blockchain asset firm, currently headquartered in Singapore and founded in 2013, has its offices spanned in the United States, Japan, South Korea, and Hong Kong.

After China’s nationwide crackdown on cryptocurrency exchanges and initial coin offerings (ICOs) in late 2017, the Huobi Group shifted its headquarters from Beijing to Singapore. Now, despite the declining prices of cryptocurrencies in 2018, Huobi appears to be moving forward aggressively with its expansion efforts.

I was wondering whether or not bots can bypass custom CAPTCHA like:

Code:
10*3-17+4=?

or

Code:
h2o = ?
Much more easily than the currently used reCAPTCHA. Maybe it could help if we start using this kind of simple captchas to post while keeping the Google one to log in... But still, it's easily bypassed.
12175  Other / Meta / Re: Merit source application (French local board) on: August 19, 2018, 03:56:04 PM
Except it's in french. So there's no interest to do this. Our moderator see them and the others merit source don't speak our language.
Not necessarily. I've seen Jet Cash using Google Translator and meriting a few posts from another language when it was clear that they were HQ.

Also, what if the merit source misses the post? Collecting a few posts that didn't receive any merit (or didn't receive enough) shouldn't be a hard task.
12176  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [WARNING] Fake Ledger Live app on Play Store on: August 19, 2018, 03:47:46 PM
It was a fake app, i don't think scammers would build an app that would have Ledger device recognising function, it would be a simple app that asks one to "import seeds" as mjglqw said. Ledger still has not addressed this, which worries me a lot, people can lose their money. they should warn the users or just release the app on all platforms.
Ledger oddly didn't post anything about this (they made a warning when there was a fake Chrome extension around). Like mjglqw said, all the app did was ask for your wallet seed. Unfortunately, I've seen a user saying that his friend thought the app was legit and got scammed, so at least a few users were affected... Undecided

Anyways, the app already got removed from the PlayStore so I'll be closing this thread in the next 24 hours.
12177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: withdraw/request conversion error BTC - mBTC on: August 19, 2018, 03:36:12 PM
What you "requested" doesn't matter. The amount you receive in the address will be there in your wallet to be spent in the future.

Just withdrawal the missing amount to the same address and you will receive it as well.
12178  Other / Meta / Re: Merit source application (French local board) on: August 19, 2018, 01:45:56 PM
Sorry but I don't get the point of doing that...
Giving some HQ posts a chance of getting merit? Sometimes the merit sources miss a good post, so putting a few of them in a single post makes their life easier while helping the good users getting a few merits.
12179  Other / Meta / Re: Do not post off-topic replies on: August 19, 2018, 02:21:35 AM
Help! Please let me know who I should contact regarding regaining my old access to cryptomommy. I no longer have access to the old email. Is there an admin I should send this request to?
Please don't go to a thread called "Do not post off-topic replies" and post an off-topic reply...

You'll need to follow these instructions: Recovering hacked accounts or accounts with lost passwords
12180  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hacker can hacked your crypto wallet by getting help from Telecoms Operator on: August 19, 2018, 01:39:36 AM
Yeah, SMS authentication has been exposed as a weak form of 2FA for a while now. Besides the method you've said, they can also be intercepted a number of ways:
Look at the article just published today: SIM Swapping: How Hackers Stole Millions Worth of Crypto Via Victims Cell Phone Provider

"Terpin claims that he lost $24 million worth of cryptocurrencies as a result of two hacks that occurred over the course of seven months."

I wouldn't even bother thinking about setting up an SMS 2FA if OTP 2FA was available.
