Hey everybody. I think that some kind of warning should be placed in the description of the NEMstake asset (here: https://nxtblocks.info/#section/assets_exchange/stakeholders/12465186738101000735), so people know that it will be worth nothing in the near future unless they follow the procedure to redeem it for real NEM. Maybe something like: "This asset will be worthless after XXXX date. The keep the value inherent to this asset, follow this instructions ASAP: [link to the phase 2 redemption stage]" This way we can keep the number of unclaimed NEMstakes to a minimum. I think that majority of the people is well aware of this. They are just waiting and trying to squeeze the most of the profits out of it by trading and they are also hoping for the big price increase in the last week. Nevertheless it should be done, just so the people can't complain if they forget!! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) You cannot change the description once it is written in there. It is possible to send a message to every stakeholder. Maybe from the issuer but the issuer is UP and as you probably noticed he isn't here very often these days ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

REAL ADDRESSES USED FOR REDEMPTION DO NOT START WITH T. THEY START WITH AN N. IF YOU SENT AN ADDRESS WITH A T WITH YOUR ASSET THEN YOU'VE FAILED.
Could you confirm whether the current version of the wallet is the one in which NEM will be received? And when is phase 2 likely to start (or has it already started)? The current version of the wallet is NOT the one we'll launch with. Phase 2 has started for stakes on the AE already and will start on 31st of oct for btt stakes (1st nov. latest, need to adapt the portal).
|
|
|
can I send my btt stake to the same NEM address as I sent my AE stakes? any limitations?
You mean using the same NEM address to redeem both btt and AE stakes ? Don't see why not just make sure you really do have the corresponding priv-key ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Also real addresses start with N !

I want to pay in NXT and don't want to change them into BTC first….
Make me an offer for 500k NODE via pm.
|
|
|
Yes there might even be some of that ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Question If i send for example, 2 NemStake now for real Nem And i buy 1 more stake later on NxT AE
It is the same process?
Yes

@jor27: orange nodes work too, but they are kind of passive. They can sync with the network, receive and send transaction and harvest blocks. They just don't help distributing the new transactions and blocks.
The nodes do work properly the network settings on those system are just not set correctly which prevents them from helping the network. However in most cases those nodes will receive everything just fine. This is also not a problem of NEM. Every crypto that runs on a non-standard port (so all of them) has the same issue. We just seem to be the only ones who proactively inform people about it ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Why this happens? Because of bad configuration, or may be not enough computing power? Or what? If configurations - which exactly? Not working port forwarding? Port are blocked. 99% of the cases only outgoing traffic isn't working so users won't even notice but the network needs properly configured nodes. They'd have to configure port-forwarding or at least port-triggering.

Wow... The 27 from 55 - one half of nodes don't work properly... How whole system works at all? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) The nodes do work properly the network settings on those system are just not set correctly which prevents them from helping the network. Devs
Is there any, even very very small possibility, that some two people generate the same address and private key using BETA? Is there some checking to not generate the same address?
It could happen on the same day that you get struck by lightning, win the lottery, get hit by a neutrino, and have your body ripped apart encountering dark matter. I thought we get hit by neutrinos constantly it's just that noone notices ? They even had a hard time building a detector for those little buggers.

I get: "NIS requires to be booted. Please open your wallet and boot a local node via the popup dialog or configure the auto-boot setting." this is as far as I've been able to get after trying multiple browsers. I previously got other errors.
GUI looks nice (not like the typical altcoin wallet), and I realise that this is beta, but devs should consider a simple, one-click installation/launch process that doesn't require non-techies to install multiple software packages (and concerns/unknowns about the security risks of doing so) and go through lots of hoops/caveats.
There needs to be a bit more of an eye here toward encouraging adoption by a general audience outside the world of crypto.
Okay, I managed to find that option of "Boot local node" but then I get "missing parameter" which I assume means I have to select a node. What do I put into the node field? You can type anything. "sdersdf3" for example.

We're aware of the "problem" and it will be solved in time. It just hasn't been a priority.

Still nothing. I think I'll revive my old computer, install Win7 and try there. Need a new fresh OS install there anyways. I need to solve this riddle for the NEM Step 3.
I would try the standalone version before doing any of that! ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Edit: Oops... I just noticed that there is no standalone link for the beta... ![Embarrassed](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/embarrassed.gif) http://bob.nem.ninja/nis-ncc-0.4.9.tgz

Nemstake sent !!! Transaction Id 9540434090775273694
Hope I've done everithing right!!
No you haven't done it right. Either your message is encrypted or you didn't include one at all. If you have encrypted it you don't need to do anything. You only gave me some manual work to do. If you haven't included a message at all pm me with the tx-id and a real NEM address. Well, you got closer than some other people... Edit: Actually scratch that. That's the tx-id from when I sent YOU the asset. You realize what the process is don't you ? Sorry, my mistake Tx Id should be this one: 5610557257392545532 I've sent the message with it. Please let me know. Thanks @patmast3r Any news about it? I just want to be sure it has been transfered properly. Thanks That one looks good.

12:05:10 SEVERE Could not acquire exclusive lock to lock file (org.nem.monitor.NemMonitor canStart)
The last line means that?
Means that the nem monitor is already running. Please try to kill all java processes on your machine and then try again (or reboot your machine). Killed them but get the same lines. Then restarted but get the same lines again. Try deleting all files in the NEM directory. I presume you have read/write rights to your directory? Deleted couple of times but same thing. I have all permissions on This folder, subfolders and files. (sorry for being the grandma on the customer support line) Since you've tried a few things now i think a restart is in order. Who knows what kind of zombie processes might lurk around and lock that file. After the restart try it again from scratch. Make sure you delete the folder before the restart. Still nothing. I think I'll revive my old computer, install Win7 and try there. Need a new fresh OS install there anyways. I need to solve this riddle for the NEM Step 3. That's absurd. Can you make a screenshot of your Desktop after you've tried to run it ?

It's bs anyway but yes, that would have been better ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Can anyone suggest a browser that doesnt initially reject opening the client and doesnt give you a 'process' to go through where you can ' copy and paste' addresses and public keys?
ironically, until the copy&paste issue is resolved IE should be the browser of choice ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)
