I calculated that if BTC remains the same price ie about $6K and profit is $0.02 per token per month if the farm has 5000 S9, then it will take 18 months to break even. Is my calculation correct or am I missing something.
Such calculations are pointless. The math is correct, but how much time to break even depends on factors that we cannot predict. If you sell all dividends as soon as you get them every month for 18 months, the chances are very small that average price of Bitcoin will be $6k. I think the average price in 18 months will be much higher than $6000. And if you are smart, you will not sell all dividends every month, but you will sell them when price is high. Another thing is that IRM will probably not buy 5000 S9, but they will wait for next generation ASIC miners. |

Also your algorithm for reviews is too harsh. This is not realistic that the highest score is about 50-50 positive and negative reviews.

Is price of the altcoin is based on price of the bitcoin?I have noticed the price of bitcoin falling down for past few days on same the price of altcoins are also falling down
Yes, Generally speaking we can postulate that the price of Bitcoin is directly proportional to the price of any altcoin in the crypto market provided every other factor remain constant. This means that if the price of Bitcoin increases the price of altcoin will also increases and vice versa. However there are few exceptions to the rule. Correct. Because most altcoins trade against Bitcoin and only a few of them trade against USD as well. So price of Ardor for example is 0,00003390 BTC and not $0,254977 USD. 25 cents is just converted from that BTC price according to current Bitcoin value in dollars. So If Bitcoin falls for 20%, Ardor will fall for the same 20%, unless it goes up or down from those 3390 satoshi. |

I don’t trust online mining sites anyway. I have heard of lots of scams through those sites so I don’t think this will have much of an impact. This goes along with the ban of cryptocurrency advertising on Facebook. But I think banning advertising is worse for cryptocurrencies than banning mining sites. Advertising could at least promote cryptos and even though some may be scams, I am sure there were many legitimate advertisements. I still get some ads for ICOs on Facebook. Maybe they manually check if project is legitimate and approve it if it is. If I think again, I'm only seeing so called sponsored posts from ICOs that I liked their Facebook page. So maybe they allow only this tools that expand reach of each post so that it gets priority over other posts on your newsfeed. |
