By the time we get into serious space settlement, we will have developed the technology to allow faster than light communication.

By the time we're sufficiently advanced to quantum tunnel data or are establishing miniature wormholes for FTL transmission, is it not likely the whole concept of money is outdated by then?

we can't even invent a cure for acne

I'm not sure I want this cure

Quote
In 2009, Roche decided to pull Accutane off the US market after juries had awarded millions of dollars in damages to former Accutane users over inflammatory bowel disease claims. Among others, actor James Marshall sued Roche over Accutane-related disease that resulted in removal of his colon

Lemme tell you, I was on this cure and it's not funny. But it does work.

How did this thread get to 81 pages when so much is wrong and priorities/morals/manners are so shallow. I understand a bit of humor and entertainment, but seriously, it's feeding into something weird. I've watched this thread as of recently and I don't like the way I feel after reading it. It's like a combination of perverse amusement and pity and frustration, and I leave feeling ashamed of coming here and reading it.

It's the same reason why Freak Shows were such audience magnets 100 years ago or why huge blobs of humans form around real life train wrecks. Humans like to stand and stare at the weird and the unlucky. It has a lot to do with "Well, my life may suck, but thank God at least I'm not THAT GUY."

Amazing! You just invented a cure for acne! You'll be showered with Nobel prizes and unlimited praise for this groundbreaking work!

I don't think there's a Nobel prize for Copy&Pasting, but then again I've been wrong before.

Their "adress" is the adress of a hospital in Houston Texas. Take from that what you will.

It's a scam, dude.

This raises all flags.

Domain registration hidden behind Czech proxy registrar

Official adress of "Businessware Ltd." is a mail forwarder on the Seychelles.

Real adress of "Businessware" is a dingy little crappy second hand style shop for phones, radios, batteries and other small electronics in the bad parts of Prague.

You think girls don't have an irony detector?

Boys have an irony detector, girls have an ironing detector.

I knew that would come.  Roll Eyes

Looks like you're a boy.

Good god, you're one of those vegan-style missionary-type natties. Cause that's exactly what niche sports need, more segregation, laffo.

Have fun with your thread.

You're quick at judging. I enjoy my red meat, thank you. But I don't approve of using steroids.

That's why I said "vegan-style missionary-type". I'm refering to the preaching, not the eating.

I don't understand how a thread like this is allowed to continue tbh.

It's so the SEC or whatever Aussie equivalent there is has enough material to lock up his ass for a good long while.
1232  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do girls use Bitcoin ? on: July 24, 2013, 12:36:17 PM
I remember a survey stating that only 3% of the bitcoin population are women. Why so low? I have no idea,

I do.

Boys mine coins, girls bake coins.

1233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Miner's Official Coin LAUNCH - NUGGETS (NUGs) on: July 24, 2013, 12:30:07 PM
These godly nuggies will be worth more then Devcoin, then more then Ixcoin, and then more then Bitcoin!  Can't fail!  I read it on the internet!

I'm reading... "....and while he paid back 507,148 Bitcoins to investors...." at http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/07/23/bitcoin_ponzi_scheme/

Is that accurate? And if so, how did he pay back and when?
That refers to the monthly payouts i think.

That it does.

I remember a survey stating that only 3% of the bitcoin population are women. Why so low? I have no idea,

I do.

Most women aren't smart enough or tech savvy enough to be into bitcoin,

just ask yourself: do they need bitcoins in the kitchen?

Boys mine coins, girls bake coins.

Women don't need Bitcoins to stay at home all day, pregnant, doing laundry and cooking dinner.
1237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How should we pay for things in space? on: July 24, 2013, 11:06:51 AM
Really don't suggest anything, but of course bitcoin would be ideal Smiley

No it wouldn't. Data transaction times preclude any real time processing farther than the distance of Sun <-> Earth
1238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Miner's Official Coin LAUNCH - NUGGETS (NUGs) on: July 24, 2013, 10:46:47 AM
Oh man I never thought of that. Maybe that is why all if this stuff he is saying makes no sense... because he is constantly drunk. Interesting.

He doesn't even need to be drunk. That's the insidious thing about alcoholism. The stuff alters your perception and thinking on a much more fundamental level leading to this weird behaviour even while sober. Worse, you don't actually notice that difference yourself.
1239  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-07-23 Wired: SEC Says Man Named ‘The Pirate’ Ran Bitcoin Ponzi Scheme on: July 24, 2013, 10:33:38 AM
Would you rather nothing happen to Shavers at all?
What's actually happened to Pirate so far?

He got scammer tagged, that's gotta count for something, right?

OP, have you thought about putting all of these threads into a single one like this?

2013-07-23 Wired/WS24/NY TIMES/BI/etc: SEC Investigates Bitcoin Ponzi Scheme
1240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Miner's Official Coin LAUNCH - NUGGETS (NUGs) on: July 24, 2013, 10:18:57 AM
People, this is a troll, you know it.

idk I have people like that sitting in my usual "watering" hole

I feel sorry for you.

Feel sorry for him instead. Going to drop the troll persona for a minute here. The opinion of everyone wronging him even though those everyones are subhuman compared to him coupled with the constant repetition especially of things that were already disproven coupled with sleeplessness coupled with the constant switching to unrelated but extremely personal topics, leads to one very simple conclusion: the poor man is an alcoholic. And back to being a troll.
