1241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lack of proper knowledge on casino games increases chance of loss and reduce fun on: December 28, 2023, 08:35:14 AM
You didn't do anything wrong but you are playing the game as it is, because I think roulette is a game of chance. Although I have seen some gamblers who is playing it a little different, like they bet on multiple numbers and sections ( you know, the color ones, the odd/even, etc... thing ). Sure they can win often this way, but most of the times, the profit that they can get is only tiny, or they are only break even. And maybe their purpose of it is only to wager more?

As some casinos gives you a bonus if you wager high enough. But as a beginner on roulette, you can stick to what you are currently doing. To enjoy, will depend on the people. As some can enjoy if there is no learning curve.

Yeah, playing on different pockets is quite a good strategy for winning in gambling. It depends on the amount of money the gambler wagers on each of those pockets and luckily the ball would stop at one. But the disadvantage is that the win may not be enough to cover other money spent on other pockets. Hence the roulette player needs to do it once in a while and try some other methods too, which is needed in maximizing the winning opportunities for the gambler. Op never made any wrong mistake, as some users above would think. Every gambling journey begins with a mistake and it's inevitable. Gambling professionals also make mistakes and may end up losing huge amounts of money. While his lack of knowledge could be a factor, it's not the main factor. A newbie can win in slot games. The strategies used by gambling professionals rely mainly on money management and rescuing them from losing lots of money.

However, the newbies may believe that casinos or some gamblers have a cheat code for winning huge money via gambling. But, they don't understand that everyone in the casino house is equal when it comes to prediction games like slots. The difference is now in the experiences one has about the slot machine. He may be sure of some results after spending a specific amount on the machine. Maybe on the tenth spin, he may be expecting a win. However, it's still risky, and the player needs to wager with a smaller amount of money, still. Or maybe take the risk of putting lots of money into the process. If he focuses on the demo mode, he'd be able to understand the other means of betting on roulette games, like staking on colors or number intervals. But, the wins he sees in the demo mode can be a nitro that can convince the player to try the real board. He'll learn better paying on the real board than the demo. His actions are still accepted, as a newbie in the roulette game.
1242  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Health Benefits of Gambling on: December 28, 2023, 08:14:34 AM
The most important aspect of gambling is the profits side that do makes us to gamble more. Those that understand that and know the major reason why they are gambling will never forget the reason why they opt in to gamble for the money. It is very important for us to stick to what made us to go into gambling rather than losing our focus and doing another thing. If we eventually go into gambling without no tangible reasons we might lose track and end up without any benefits. There are different ways we can gamble but we should always stick to what works for us.
I suppose that if you are a professional gambler the first and probably the only reason to gamble at all is for the profits you can get with it.

However a person that is unable to reach those results needs to have a different reason to gamble, because if they refuse to change their goal even if they know they cannot get profits then it is almost a given that they will begin to lose way too much money, which could encourage them to bet even more to recover what they have lost already and so on, until they lose everything they had.

It is true that majority of the gamblers gamble just to double their money but when one focuses so much on making profit,  it might lead to a more serious issue especially when the profits ain't forth coming as  expected.  This is where the gambler begins to experience negative health and financial challenges instead of benefits. Gambling is not a must thing to do, if a person wants to make money, there are many other ways of making money aside just gambling,  especially if the money you were expecting isn't coming through gambling.  There is no point chasing losses or gambling more with the hope of winning some day. The later results of all these vengeful gambling is not always good,  it can even lead to depression if not handled well. If gambling isn't working,  try something else.

The health importance of gambling as listed in the Op is very crucial in helping human life experience. Gambling offers more responsible characters to the players, but most people don't think of those, all they wonder about is making money out of gambling. This is not advisable for gamblers, because it's more like depending on one aspect of gambling and neglecting every other advantage of gambling. Making money the first priority and the main crucial reason why we gamble is not great in making a nice gambling experience. The purpose of gambling is to achieve success in life. And it has the knowledge capacity to offer such a reward to a gambler who is determined to master how gambling can be used to work in the outside world. A gambler who gambles for stress relief for instance, would receive it and would take the money spent during the process as his payment for the service.

The mental health we get outside gambling isn't it paid for? and the person wouldn't see it as wasted money.

But, people now worry about the money lost in gambling and go after it like a cheetah goes for its prey. This time it now sounds like a prey going for its predator. The reverse would be the case, instead of the gambler winning his money, he'd be having a bad time losing both the ones left in chasing for the lost ones. This confusion blinds gamblers a lot to think that they can't learn something else via gambling. Even some members would argue that gambling has no health benefits. Such people say this because of the mistakes they've made in gambling. It's nice for a gambler to learn to make money outside gambling, and then visit the casino for fun. When he's done playing for the day he can move ahead to his daily business. Hence, helping his productivity by being more calculative and knowing how to manage risks.
1243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: December 28, 2023, 07:57:52 AM
That's right, and people who are greedy and addicted to gambling just think that good advice or rules when gambling are just empty talk and they will definitely ignore them even though they are good things that gamblers need to pay attention to. because what's on his mind is playing and getting lots of money.

Of course people who are addicted can do any activity to get money and continue playing, as you said, people will commit crimes such as stealing money with the aim of facilitating their desire to gamble.
And how worrying it is for those who commit crimes because they just want to gamble, how sad the future will be.
a gambling addict who has lost himself will commit such madness that they will never even think about what the future holds because in their brain they are just gambling and having fun. from most of the gamblers in your city, of course you will occasionally hear news about the evils of gambling addiction, doing reckless things and often broadcast through the news and what is even sadder is that an addict who does crazy things like stealing is a minor who is addicted to gambling.
there are so many minors nowadays who try to gamble on slot games, they steal their parents' money and sometimes steal other people's things to sell and get money to gamble.

this is a very bad impact of excessive action and gambling should be used for fun but it has become a place that looks very bad because it is always decorated with gambling addicts who can do anything to continue gambling. and with news like this, anyone who has family or anyone close to them who is behaving strangely immediately approach them and ask whether it is related to gambling addiction before doing something that violates the law.

The future doesn't matter to such gamblers. They're now in the category of mentally disordered people and their actions don't have any feelings on them or their emotions. Gamblers only need to avoid that level of addiction because it gets chronic and gets too hard to avoid. As the case may be gamblers who do all sorts of immoral activities to help them fund their gambling mission, end up ruining their life and that of their family. Minors are not advised to gamble for the same reason as stealing and hawking substances just to raise money to gamble. When they get caught, they'll blame gambling. Thereby increasing the rate of bad publicity allocated to gamblers in society. Most people don't value gamblers due to the excessive bad results they've received from a gambling addict. Approaching is great, and I'm on the side of visiting some friends whom we've not been to their homes or houses for a while. They could be thinking of doing something wrong, to finance their gambling lifestyle. Keeping in touch with them can help reorganize the brain of the gambler to have a rethink and say no to risking his life because of gambling.

Young people who are up to the age of 18 or the appropriate age meant for gambling in their nation should be taught about the ways gambling works. What they can learn from gambling and how to implement it in their daily life. We all have some gambler friends around us, and it's also crucial to help society by helping them not to get addicted. Any moment they are in a bad mood, asking them gradually to know what is the problem can help in stabilizing the emotion so the player does not graduate to another stage of anxiety, where the process of healing him now gets too difficult. They neglect good advice because nobody controls or helps them to stick by it or practice it when gambling. When in the machine gambling it controls the emotions of the gambler, especially naive ones to go after the lost money. Sometimes the gravity is stronger than the advice they've read before gambling, hence the player tends to follow reality, which is winning back his lost money. After all, someone did it and it worked.
1244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does casino streamers have influence in your gambling life? on: December 28, 2023, 07:38:54 AM
When we are looking for streamers and what we see and we want to learn things, strategies or something like that, if they don't give the truth then why follow them? I believe that there are many people who are very misinformed, and if there is a streamer like this, then you have to make it clear so that they do not follow them, living by deception is useless, especially in casinos, because it is money that you are going to lose, no. It is nothing, nor is it pleasure, the majority are looking for gain and being deceived in this is of no use, those who are followers because they like it is something else.
It's really hard to explain people they shouldn't blindy trust streamers on the internet, because they develop a relationship of idolization for those streamers. Here in my country we have a very popular youtuber who was promoting a famous casino called Blaze. Actually he is the poster boy of Youtube Brazil. And he was using his influence to sell the idea to his public that the casino he was promoting could work as extra income source, besides displaying himself on Twitch (streaming) making big profit from few bucks of dollar, somehow encouraging his audience to do the same, because as he said, it was easy and fast...

And how are we going to tell his fans they should avoid this guy because he is a manipulator due to the fact he is introducing them to gambling in the wrong way? It's easier for people to get against you than going against the influencer they love so much. It's a delicate matter, because it involves emotional bonds these people create towards popular figures of the internet. Maybe they have to lose money to learn by themselves they shouldn't idolize anyone. And in fact, many already did.

The goal of these streamers is to fetch traffic for their employers, and they're expected to make out cunning ideas to lure these naive people to join gambling as a means of earning income or a side hustle. The only difference between these streamers and other online influencers is their audience. Viewers on the streaming influencers page don't have the control to know if they're being cheated, lied to, or maybe not cared about their opinion. These things are being allowed because of the reason that the streamer doesn't force anybody to use or watch his channels. But, as you said the viewer already is in control psychologically and controls the emotions of the viewers with a few thousand winnings, which he shares on his videos. The same thing applies to the trading streamers on YouTube, they've led lots of people to trade cryptocurrency without knowing how it works. And looking at the audience like I said, those are people who want to or are convinced that they can make money through gambling. Because they not only trust the influencer the viewers also love them for being rich or successful in their endeavor, hence they can't think of being manipulated. Their main decision would be to try out with a few bucks when they've got some cash available.

So your idea, Uneng, on trying to change the ideas or the minds of these victims would be difficult, but achievable through patience and determination. It's all a long-term goal. Look around the internet, there've been recently some complaints flying around about the streamers not being trustworthy and using their affiliation with the casino to deceive viewers. These people who now complain don't have a base. Where they can be laying such complaints. Hence setting up such a platform wouldn't cost much as they're just floating around looking for where to reside and communicate with other people wearing similar shoes. No way the streamers would be able to deceive all the people all the time. However, some of the people can be deceived all the time. These people that can be deceived all the time are the target of the streamers, and those people will fight you for trying to say that the streamers are meddling with their emotions.
1245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many hours is the best time for a gambler to last while gambling? on: December 28, 2023, 07:18:49 AM
In my opinion,  the more time one decides to spend on gambling, the more money they lose. For example, if I spend like one hour gambling and another gambler spends like six hours gambling, which one of us do you think will spend more money?

So the question again is: how many hours do you gamblers think are more appropriate to spend while gambling?
It's not a general rule. A gambler can play for the whole day with a limited budget, placing low base bets, growing their budget slowly, if they are lucky on that respective day. Meanwhile, another gamble can spend a fortune in a short gambling session of few minutes by placing huge base bets or increasing them a lot on each loss.

I've seen gamblers spending about 20,000$ in a 10 minutes gambling session at online casino. And on the other hand, I've also seen gamblers doing bankroll management (5% daily profit) during long sessions of 2 hours with few bucks. And what it's more curious and interesting yet is that probably the guy playing with few bucks had more fun than the other who played with thousands, because he was playing with a purpose, while the other was just killing some time without any planning at all.

You can play as many hours as you wish, just make sure you aren't neglecting another activities and responsabilities of your daily routine, neither spending money you can't afford to lose in gambling. There are days we are too stressed and just want to have some good time, so if you picked gambling with that objective in mind, I see no issues if you gamble the whole day, since you it was a planned, rational decision which won't prejudice your finances as consequence.

You are right, the time interval doesn't matter, in a minute one can wager lots of money, in anticipation of earning big. While some other person would maintain their discipline and enjoy the process with little amount. It's certain to say that the person who managed his money played for fun, but we may not know what's actually in the mind of the high roller who spent all the money in a few minutes. He may end up happy if he wins the bet, but somehow would feel the loss, especially when the amount is too much for him. Some people wouldn't feel it losing such an amount in a few minutes. But, this type of gambler, is mostly an addict. They don't want to waste a single time in the casino. They just want to wager all their money and go if the result isn't favorable to them. The attitude is mostly void and affects them financially, and they may not be able to pay for other bills.

While there may be few people who practice this type of gambling, we can't exaggerate the rate at which people would win for spending more time or less time gambling. It's mainly on luck, the big roller can win immediately, a whopping amount of money. All that is needed of the players is to spend their money and leave immediately. The amount they'll win or lose for the time spent in the casino can't be detected or calculated. That's why Op's question may not have an accurate answer. Gamblers differ, and all sorts of people around the globe gamble, each with a different purpose and reason why they have chosen to gamble. No appropriate hour for gambling, I think a human is expected to get tired after spending at least 6 hours on his computer screen. So, if a player wants to spend his whole leisure on gambling, he only needs to plan his money and wager according to what he's got. But another gambler who is not comfortable or can't control himself for a while will have no other option than to spend all his money at once.
1246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risk management and responsible gaming on: December 28, 2023, 06:59:11 AM
If ever the government will ban gambling, people who want to gamble will eventually find a way to access gambling sites and casinos. They will just be creative in accessing those without the authorities ever finding out about it. People are stubborn especially if they are really that interested and hooked up in betting and playing, they will find ways regardless. It's not as if it will really solve the problem by prohibiting people,  it could only be a band-aid solution while the dependency in addiction haven't been addressed yet.

Indeed, gambling is someone's responsibility and not anyone else's. If they don't want to suffer the consequences, then they must do themselves a favor of not spending too much time and money in it. Addiction doesn't just occur instantly, it is a bad habit built over time. So staying away and choosing yourself  and your sanity will  save you from it. Limiting the engagement by not feeding your thirst to it will prevent you from being addicted.
With today's easy Internet access, people will easily find casino sites where they can continue gambling if offline casinos where they live are prohibited from operating. By gambling at online casinos, it makes them free to access casino sites anywhere outside their country and no one will know they are still gambling at online casinos. It also won't reduce their time gambling and can actually increase their gambling time because gambling at an online casino means they can gamble wherever they want.

But if someone can have good responsibility in gambling, he will not gamble too often and even though he can gamble at online casinos, he will still limit his gambling activities because he knows that gambling more often will only cause problems for him. They don't want to get into trouble just because they gamble too often so they really control their gambling game. They will also look for other activities that can help them divert their attention from gambling so that they will not become addicted to gambling.

The world can't ban gambling, hence some countries that don't allow gambling, maybe for the sake of their citizens' mental health, may have not done themselves a great favor. Because as you said, they'll gamble in other countries using VPN and other apps that can help hide their IP address. The government may not be able to control the problem of gamblers using the ban as a threat. They need to devise other methods and try them out. Maybe promoting the importance of gambling and removing the bad thoughts people have about gambling. A man is what he thinks. If a gambler is worried about being addicted he won't be able to escape it easily as he only thinks of addiction. Hence to be on the safe side, gamblers need to have nice thoughts about gambling and how it can help society. People think gambling has no economic importance, but it's quite very great in helping the economy of some countries in the world.

Other than that, if responsible gambling is promoted enough, players won't be getting addicted. A gambler needs to avoid spending too much time in gambling. One must understand the body system and how it may react to gambling addiction. The goal is mainly, to enjoy the habit, not having a bad memory about the gambling habit. In terms of diverting to activities that'll help the gambler avoid gambling addiction, the gambler may not be able to achieve it on his own. However, it depends on the level of the player's addiction to gambling. Those who are still a bit in control of their actions and don't feel comfortable being addicted to gambling can do it themselves and change gradually. Even though they won't stop immediately, at least it helps in building back the emotions of the gambler to stay strongly in control of his actions. That's why the gambler who doesn't notice earlier his outstanding deficiencies in gambling can have a hard time diverting his addiction to something else.
1247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any fun in losing while gambling on: December 28, 2023, 06:30:25 AM
Defeat is never fun for you. The taste of defeat is always bitter because everyone wants to win and no one wants to lose. Winning at gambling will boost your self-confidence and losing at gambling will create resentment towards your gambling skills and luck. Gamblers are such that they want to gamble even if they win by gambling and they want to win even if they lose money by gambling win or lose both these things attract a gambler to gamble. The reason we say that we should take gambling as fun is so that gamblers do not become addicted to gambling. If a gambler can gamble without becoming addicted to gambling then he can enjoy gambling.
Experiencing loss is unpleasant and no one wants it. But that's what happens in gambling games. If he doesn't want to experience loss and lose his money, he doesn't need to gamble.

Losses will occur in gambling, while wins will rarely be obtained. That is why gamblers must understand that they really have to control themselves so as not to lose a lot. Only that way, he could limit the number of losses he lost.

It's okay to experience loss. The most important thing is that you can enjoy the gambling game and have fun, even if you lose. One day, you will be able to win and as long as you can limit your gambling, that is enough to experience the game of gambling.

With the rate increase of losses rather than winning in the gambling niche, gamblers need to take it as a fun game, not to get angered by it, and refrain from what isn't acceptable to their mental health. Losing money is not conducive, yes, and nobody would be happy to run broke, due to gambling. Hence, a gambler should control his urge to win as happiness. Because he'd only get angry when he's faced with losses. Gamblers who see gambling as a fun game are only working on stabilizing their mental health. While those who feel sad about losing money, may not sustain the enormous sadness, they'll embrace in gambling. It's better to gamble for the fun and trace other importance of gambling. I don't think people can only learn how to win money in gambling. It's a game of growth and it teaches how to increase our budgets when in business. For instance, those who use the Martingale method, try to master the aspect of investment where a person would increase his investment, when losing expecting a huge win.

But gamblers who follow this strategy, forget that while gambling isn't an investment, they need to learn through it and then apply it in the real life investment. Yet, some gamblers don't operate like that, they see gambling as an investment, then later on tag the Martingale method as a risky gambling strategy. Gambling has no strategy. Every strategy is mainly for learning, which is fun. No one should care about the wins or losses of other people, the goal is to focus on what gambling has to teach us. By applying the moves we make in gambling in our daily lives, the gambler wouldn't have the challenges of worrying about his losses. Everything would look to him as a win, especially, when the main win comes in his business. That's why most men still gamble, and never get addicted or feel the problem other games face each day through gambling.
1248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How discipline are you in managing your bankroll? on: December 28, 2023, 06:06:52 AM
But we can't deny the fact that some gamblers are doing this to earn profit, not for just entertainment only, right? Majority of gamblers here in forum has the same thought like mine because I also got to the point where I tried to gamble to earn extra money but somehow I managed to stop myself from leading to gambling addiction. Tbh I've actually gambling for now when I have spare time and I want extra challenging game but still I have and know my limits.
Yes, that's true because many of them want to win from gambling so they forget to manage their money well. Maybe they can manage it at the beginning of their gambling, but after gambling for a while, they see an opportunity to win, so they decide to place a bigger bet than before. But it turns out that it doesn't give them the win they want, and that makes them curious, so they still use the same betting amount, but again, they lose. The more often they lose, their curiosity will grow and make them eager to win. That's what makes many people addicted to gambling and if you can still control yourself well, you still have to practice it and never underestimate it. Gambling can tempt us in many ways so we have to be careful.

Looking at the growth in gambling today, let's say online casinos or gamblers. You'd find out that some people who wish to make money online, have ventured into gambling as a niche to yield money. They may have thought about it as a better form of generating income. The effect one has on gambling has to do with his first thoughts before venturing into gambling. We all have reasons and motives why we began gambling, which is not simply about making money or not. But, how long would we keep up with the motive, regarding the amount of money we own as gamblers? These naive beginners end up losing out their remaining money, and borrowing, due to their initial conclusions on gambling as a means of generating income. At first, they do all that with their right senses, but to some extent, they'll no longer be in the right control to change their thoughts or look for another means of earning. Discipline to our bankroll, matters a lot, in gambling, and it requires the need to set a long-term goal on what we want in gambling.

It's saddening to hear of a gambler who now sees gambling as his side hustle. How long would he be able to hold on until he begins to lose productivity in his main job or business? So, that mindset is what causes addiction in most instances, as it's not a compulsory rule that people must win in gambling. But, the people with such plan in their beginning stage of gambling, have the same will keep going until all have been lost including the money meant for business. The pain and anxiety, now fuel the addiction to accumulate and the person won't be able to quit gambling easily. Gamblers need to have another source of income, and also take it seriously than they do with gambling. Relaxation shouldn't be every second. I think gamblers are expected to make out the time on when to gamble and have cool mind control.
1249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should mentally unstable people be allowed to gamble? on: December 28, 2023, 05:46:47 AM
Firstly I will not judge someone's mental health from their appearance this common saying don't judge a book by the cover so don't judge from the look first, when I read the story I was expecting the part when you will say he fought or harassed someone in the casino shop but you never mentioned so how is this person mentally unstable?, I know of a man in my locality he always appears as a mad man but he is normal and strangers usually mistake him as a mad man, in my opinion if he's not causing any harm or threat then he's allowed to gamble, there's no law as such in a local casino shop but still some people will refuse to attend to someone dressed like that.

Sometimes people are judge due to their poor physical appearance. However, this is gambling, appearance is not important there as no matter how you look, at long as you have the money to play, you are very much welcome.

There are people who are consistent in going in a gambling shop and actually they are the biggest contributors of the profit of a casino as those who are rich are very smart in managing their money, they just gambling occasionally and they have control to just bet based on limit. These small time gamblers usually makes mistakes, they go aggressive and sometimes they'll end up borrowing because they go beyond their budget.

Some rich gamblers who are disciplined can manage their money, but not all. Similarly the low rollers. Most often people would qualify rich and low rollers by appearance. Not knowing that people are different in terms of gambling. It all matters in the mind of the gambler, what he's about to do with his time in the casino. The appearance doesn't matter, the attitude does. That's why people are encouraged to focus on the purpose that led them to the casino house or whatever gambling shop they find themselves in. It'll also help the gambler to think well on his next gambling moves. Any gambler who is educated on the ethics and disciplines required in gambling doesn't need to fear losing his budget or going to borrow money to fulfill his gambling goals. However, you'd notice that not all gamblers have this knowledge, regardless of the class they belong to. We, gamblers, need to decide on a routine and keep by it, plan according to our earnings and profits, and do what should yield some profits for us, gamblers.

It's been quite a long time since society never wanted gambling addicts, hence no one should be encouraged to make similar mistakes as those who ended up addicted. No one has been known as gambling proof, some who appear responsible can end up addicted and the player who doesn't dress well, and looks dirty, may end up escaping addiction. In the history of gambling as a journey, addiction should be the most concern, for both parties, the rich and low rollers. Because none among them would be able to survive it easily. Addiction is the main mental illness or disorder, which we should be worried or cautious about when gambling, instead of looking at clothes. When a gambler begins to get aggressive he'll need to watch his finances or seek help, don't know if this only happens to the low rollers, I think the high rollers also experience the problem of wagering too much and losing out, which leads to transfer of aggression.
1250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: December 27, 2023, 09:09:33 PM
There is nothing loneliness can not do, it can make us to do undo and involve ourselves in something that is not going to affect us positively in the future. We need to make sure that we deal with loneliness and involve ourselves in something that is profitable so that we are not going to become desperate or do things without thorough thinking. We can involve ourselves in so many things to make sure that we are not lonely so that we don't ignorantly involve ourselves with something that is going to cause problem for us in the future.
Loneliness is very serious. I think if a person thinks that he is thinking about loneliness too much then he will be very weak mentally. There are some people who sometimes take up some bad addictions from gambling to other to relieve loneliness.  Gets involved in their own ignorance. After getting involved in this kind of addiction, they have to face many problems to get out of it. Loneliness makes a person very weak and can also ruin his life.

Loneliness requires some other tasks to deal with, and those who are not sure of what to do would try gambling. Since it can offer some wins to the player. Most addicts are into the problem because they're not with anybody who can keep them company. So, if the person is not sure about the effect of gambling in their life, they can think of trying something else, to stay on the safe side. The games we enjoy in gambling can keep us busy, but gambling may not be the right way to resolve loneliness unless it's physical casinos. The gambler will be able to meet up with some other people whom he can interact with and also get a few orientations on strategies to avoid addiction. It's not simple to get over loneliness, especially when heartbroken. Not having a person to talk to about our gambling problems if one erupts, can lead the gambler to a more severe gambling addiction. Which can affect the future of the gambler. However, anxiety is not good for a lonely person.

How would he be comfortable losing money each day, in gambling? In many occurrences, the addict always gives thanks to someone who was so dear in eradicating their problem gambling. As they can't do it alone, the gambler, added with anxiety may not be able to restrict himself from gambling addiction. Like in the case of Op's friend who has lost his partner, many other factors like the loss of a loved one, can lead a person to addiction. I think gamblers should have some close friends, visiting them wouldn't be a problem. But loneliness has eaten deep into their brain, to the extent of loving it and being uncomfortable with people who tend to visit them or send them an invite to visit their party or social gathering. The problems they end up becoming victims can be solved by their family members. Because only a few parents wouldn't try to help their child who is suffering from chronic gambling addiction.
1251  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why the rich win gambling more than the poor. on: December 27, 2023, 08:43:02 PM
I have observed that the rich, I mean those who are financially comfortable, win more in gambling than the poor. By poor, I mean those who do not have enough to meet all their needs. I don't know the reason for this. Could it be that the rich understand financial management more? Or could it be that the rich are less desperate to win which make them make better gambling decision? I really want to know the reason for this pattern I have observed.

It is very clear to see bro, when you risk more money, you’re on a verge of having a better profit than a poor person that can risk a little. One thing with the rich people again is that, when they fail in this games, they inject bigger money in games that they are sure of winning to recover all of their loss funds easily. Gambling is a game for the smart ones and the rich ones are more smarter in this case than the poor.
The most reasonable reason is that they want to make money quickly even though that will not happen as expected in gambling. People who don't have a lot of money and pin their hopes on gambling will only be disappointed, especially if they use the money that should be used to meet their needs. Rich people have a lot of money, which means they can gamble with any amount of money they want, and of course, they can also place bets with any amount of money. This is something people who don't have a lot of money can't do. They will only bet with sufficient amounts of money, and although they can still rely on luck, it may be difficult for them to win. And if people who don't have a lot of money lose and lose all their money, maybe they will borrow money from other people just to keep gambling and chasing wins. It is not recommended for all gamblers who don't have a lot of money because it will only speed up the process of losing money without being able to win.

The rich people need to remember that being smart in gambling has nothing to do with their riches. The low roller can have a better experience than the rich gambler, which means that he may still win more in gambling. It doesn't matter if a gambler is rich or not. He needs to be careful with his bankroll and gambling responsibility, not to run out of all his profits. Why the rich only move better than the poor in gambling, is the need for high wagers to win bigger amounts while gambling. It all matters, the motive of the gambler and how disciplined he is about managing his gambling lifestyle. If gambling was mainly about the rich winning huge amounts of money, all rich folks would be gambling by now. The risk involved in gambling can affect the riches of the gambler, however, not sure, but could get the rich person broke and less focused on doing his daily tasks or being productive in his businesses.

That's why most of them despite the huge win opportunity made available for the rich, still need to be intelligent on constructive means of analyzing their games and minimizing losses either through wagering small funds or limiting the time spent gambling. The low rollers also win big amounts of money, with their little money. They could make good predictions and manage their ways of gambling. However, everyone needs to stay clear of being addicted to gambling. Rich or poor. Because any of them could be the victim of what you just explained above. Borrowing money and chasing loss. For a rich man to go broke via gambling, can be more difficult compared to a low roller. The rich have managers and close people who can monitor their moves so as not to get addicted and wager all their wealth through gambling. Such problems don't know about the status of the gambler, chasing loss.
1252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun, is it a lie that we tell ourselves? on: December 27, 2023, 08:20:51 PM
I know for sure that if we take periodic account of how many times that we gamble, maybe weekly, monthly or yearly, we'll find out that the loses are far greater than the winnings, so I sometimes wonder how we can be indulging in something that we lose far more than we gain, in the name of having fun.
Do you ask yourself the same thing when you spend money drinking, eating out, hanging around with friends, purchasing fancy accessories you really don't need as basic need and so on? Does it worth to spend money with all these things in name of fun? I think so. Money exists to serve us, and not the opposite. We need money for our basic needs and appointments, but also for our pleasure and satisfaction. If gambling gives you pleasure and satisfaction, it's not an issue if you are losing more money than winning on long run.

Some people weight the pros and cons and still conclude gambling is suitable for them, as they don't feel too attracted by another hobbies people use to enjoy. So let them be happy gambling. It's definitely not a lie to say people gamble for fun, although it depends on which kind of person we are talking about. If the gambler is playing avid for profits, it will be a lie if he says he is gambling for fun, but there are other gamblers who really play for fun. They don't begin their gambling session with fixed goals in mind to be achieved. They let it happen naturally and if it doesn't, they go home peacefully, hoping to have a better luck next day.

Gambling for fun shouldn't be considered a lie, because it's true that gambling can offer us some fun. Same way other utilities make us happy and put us in a good mood. The only pain and difference is that gamblers think money going into gambling is a waste. But, lots of opportunities follow the practice. Gambling is more fun to society and offers players a better lifestyle if they handle their emotions and neglect the aim of earning lots of money through gambling. Those are only a few rewards and must be expected to appear luckily. If we have looked into the process and discovered that the winning and losses don't match, the first mentioned happens less than the later. Those who play strictly for fun don't feel regret and also know the importance of gambling and how it works. The goal of gamblers is to understand the hidden treasures in gambling. How it helps our brain to grow or fail, depends on the thoughts of the player. If he's interested in money his brain could fail him and endanger his future gambling journey. Which is not the right journey for any gambler.

But, those who see the relevant aspect of gambling, will make a fortune out through it, by diverting the ideas gotten through gambling to solve real-life problems. If a player is observant of the results and actions he takes in gambling, he won't have a hard time making the right decisions in life. When a gambler only focuses on money, his only motive would be headed for the big money, and he'll lose out on other important skills one could derive from gambling. This delivers fun to the player, since he's not concerned about money, that only swings the mode of the gambler, especially when he has lost money. Gamblers only need to follow the right choice or lane in gambling that will help improve their view on gambling. Not minding the bad review society points at gambling. It still offers some good qualities and changes in the life of most gamblers.
1253  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many hours is the best time for a gambler to last while gambling? on: December 27, 2023, 07:10:33 AM
from my experience, there are many factors that influence how long gamblers stay in gambling and most important thing is that it usually all depends on the desires and goals of each gambler.

I often place bets beforehand on slot game, poker and roulette. usually I spend 1 hour to bet on one of these games and it all depends on situation if losing streak I will stop rather than force a bet it better the budget I have to bet next day but if winning streak comes I once spent about 3 hours on a game roulette But as you said, the longer you gamble, the more you lose.
this assumption makes sense because the longer you stay in one of the games, the house edge will beat the gamblers.

but for now, after I feel bored of betting on casino game for at least 10-15 minutes, I feel bored and choose to bet on sports betting without having to waste too much time and choose to do a side job.

The time a gambler should spend while gambling differs per gambler. We know the elasticity of all our actions in life. A person who enjoys video games can stay up to 5-6 hours playing GTA. Gambling works the same way, I prefer a roulette game, it works in a way that I'd spend a good time playing the game, especially when on a good bankroll. Things do change according to the amount of money we own, but the games we enjoy on slots are very addicting because they require not much calculation. However, if a gambler on his leisure chooses to spend time and money gambling, he wouldn't need to bother about time, as he has some left. Hence, it all depends on the schedule of the gambler. Some may get tired along the line, it's true, as gambling takes up brain power and humans can easily get tired after spending time on screen. The players who can stay longer time like 6 hours, need to understand how to split their money while gambling.

The answer to Op's question depends on the amount of money the gambler is ready to lose while gambling. If gambling happened to be a free game that doesn't require money. Most gamblers will gamble at least 5 hours a day. But people may not get addicted to it. Somehow the money we spend while gambling helps in controlling the time, then facilitates addiction. It's hard to comprehend for a layman, but, while money controls time, emotions get affected due to the loss of money. The time a player spends gambling doesn't affect his thinking, but the money. So, some gamblers may have the time, yet no money to continue playing. And another gambler with lots of money to take him 5 hours on gambling, but no time to enjoy his habit. Those who get tired along the line and stop may have been gambling for days and need some rest.
1254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should mentally unstable people be allowed to gamble? on: December 26, 2023, 11:57:08 PM
My question now is are there any moral, ethical or legal obligation to bar a person from gambling after physically observing that he is mentally unstable?
Since you've mentioned the guy that didn't dress well, I don't think that this is all about the way he dress for assuming that he's mentally unstable or ill. But going straight to the question without the relation of the story you've mentioned, there's always the ground where the casino can stop someone from entering their premises. If that person does a lot of crazy things inside their premises, they all have the might to stop and ban him whether he is mentally unstable or not. But if it's just by the looks and judging like that, there can be some retaliate that person can do based on how he will be judged by just simply observing it without proper proofs.
If its a physical center of casino gambling can restrict anyone they feel like to stop from gambling, their is something I notice very well in gambling if you mentally derailed their is every possiblity that they will restrict the gambler not gamble with them when they notice, and they can only do so when you come to the gambling centre to obstruct their business, I know very well that if they dont have a genuine reason to ban someone not to enter their premises it will cause a shortage of patronage, that is why some centers of gambling betting environment always compromise with their customers

A gambler that causes trouble in the casino, should be tagged mentally ill and shouldn't be allowed to enter the casino. But if another gambler is safe and doesn't fight or destroy any facilities in the casino, he should be allowed to spend his money. Everyone has their space, and nobody disturbs one another, it's a safe place for every gambler who is qualified by age to participate and enjoy his habit. Hence we shouldn't have a bad time with such people as regards gambling. Whenever a person is allowed by the authorities to enter a place, he has been checked long ago and found worthy of visiting. If not he would have been bounced long ago by the security men. Whether a casino or the government should ban mentally ill people from participating in gambling, is a question that has no direct answer. Since most people who are gambling addicts are indirectly mentally ill. And the government or the casino has done nothing to keep them away from gambling or ban them entirely from the habit.

Government for mentally ill people aims to heal them and recover their senses, to maintain a good and quality society. Mental disorder has different stages, and not until one slaps or smashes his TV sets on the floor that he'll be considered mentally ill. The human brain is suffering each day from challenges that compel it to suffer mental illness. But only the strong can withstand and still hold themselves back from the temptation of getting aggressive on certain matters. But when it gets obvious, the person can be taken to the hospital to receive some injections to help them sleep. And cool their brain. Gambling also leads to mental illness, so, should Op also wonder about banning gambling in countries where youths are going crazily in debt due to problem gambling? With all these odds surrounding gambling, a person or gambler must have done something remarkably wrong to be banned from using gambling. Which may have nothing to do with his dressing.
1255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: December 26, 2023, 11:43:32 PM
Inflicting suffering on other people is the most painful part of gambling addiction. After recovering, he, the gambler will live to regret his actions, as those actions will be cemented in his brain, forever. We don't need to blame them for certain actions, but in a situation of harming a family member to get money to gamble, the gambler needs to be penalized. It has gotten to a bad level of gambling addiction, he won't be able to escape it or change from such a lifestyle. Gamblers need to understand the repercussions of getting too attached to gambling. Newbies can also learn from the mistakes of others. Imagine a situation where an addict won't adhere to treatment or the therapy administered by family members. Fighting against the urge to change, can be wrong, but the addict will believe his actions are right. His brain has been configured to see gambling as the best thing in the world. And any other thing or person who says ill words about gambling in the addict's presence can be annoying to the gambler.

I think the gambler must have the feeling to change before his family can help him out of the addiction. Instead, as you said, the player's family will undergo serious times trying to cure him and it'll be a wasted effort. Trying to force him out of it, can chase the addict away from home to a place that he thinks is safe for him and his thoughts. However, if he runs out of money he'll come back to his family, this time they can utilize the opportunity to talk sense into him about the pain he's not feeling. They feel no pain, mentally disordered people. The people close to him need to help the gambler realize he's undergoing serious pains, on his journey of making huge profits in gambling. Discussion session helps a lot, not allowing him to stay alone all the time, can help in reviving the thought of the addicted person.
Addiction to gambling demands a complex approach. First, we must acknowledge the gravity of the problem. Addiction is a psychological trap, not a choice. Gambling has taken over an addict's brain, making rational decision-making difficult. Empathy and understanding are essential. We cant just condemn their behaviour; we must understand why. Family matters but is complicated. They suffer greatly, but their acts may fuel the addiction. Overbearing or judgemental attitudes might isolate addicts. Its important to support without suffocating. Helping them get professional help while keeping a supportive household is crucial.

Finally, "healthy gambling" deserves more airtime. Responsible gambling is possible. The narrow line between recreational gambling and addiction is difficult to distinguish. Awareness and education are key. Newbies must learn self-control and the pitfalls of overindulgence. Promoting responsible gambling and understanding when to stop.

For this reason, we must know that gambling requires strict orientation. Nothing is wrong with a newbie gambler or experienced gambler to tell their parents or loved ones before deciding on gambling. It's becoming tiring to hear often that gamblers only need help or talk to their loved ones about their problems when they get addicted. It causes lots of problems for the family, as they won't know where to begin, it comes as a shock to them. In most unpleasant cases the gambler already owes a huge amount of money, which the family only discovers when the addiction sets in, while they treat the gambler they sort out his debts as well. Instead of suffering our loved ones, it's important to let them know initially before joining gambling. So, that they'll not be taken by surprise, aside it, the parents can then develop a habit of discussing consistently with the person, to know if he's still in the same reasoning as them, to caution him.

These moves, as mentioned above, will help reduce the rate of gambling addiction. Gamblers now do gambling as if, it's a secret game. They hide it from their family, but let friends know. When the problems arise the addicts now run to family. That's why a good number of family members tend to neglect them and don't' respond to their complaint or help them. You see people act differently, not that these family members who don't want to help a gambling addict, are bad or to be blamed. But they have their reasons, which are the points I just explained above. Only a few will accept their prodigal son and support without suffocating them. It has been made known to a lot of people that gambling correlates with the brain of humans. They need to stay careful and don't hide it. Moreover, gambling is not bad and is not banned in most countries. Why should people hide their gambling habits? Unveiling it will save many people from premature problems in life.
1256  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What I've learned so far as a gambler on: December 26, 2023, 11:18:34 PM
I think that all these bad habits certainly have a bad effect on human health. But many people cannot imagine their life without smoking a cigarette every day. Same with gambling. It was interesting to look at the statistics, but I think that the global gambling turnover is increasing every year. I would like to know how long this will last, because many people end up suffering from the fact that they have lost a lot and after this families break up, and the addicted gambler must be sent for compulsory treatment.

Over my years of gambling, I have understood a lot, but one of the main things is that we and only we control the size of our bet. We are responsible not only for ourselves, but also for our family. Therefore, if we do not limit ourselves in the game and play a responsible game in which we know our loss limit for this evening, then we can call ourselves a weak player who will lose everything in the end. Remember this and learn from the mistakes of other gamblers.

Gamblers need to remember what you just mentioned, as it's crucial to be careful about our family and what they'll feel about us if all the money we have is used for gambling. In life, risk is worth taking, but in gambling when taking risk we need to remember that the outcome would be a lesson to us. Hence the bet should be calculated and handled with care not to hurt us and our loved ones. Life is close to what gambling is in the experiences of man. But the difference is that gambling is hated by nongamblers or society, due to the addicts. Families have suffered losses because of their wards who ended up addicted. Other than that we learn every day through gambling, you've made a nice contribution to what you've learned. Which centers on money management, to be able to handle other financial responsibilities. In my contribution, I'd say that gamblers must follow certain routines like being in control of their decisions. The risk of gambling is the loss of money.

And players want to make it big in gambling, but end up not living a good life at all, after living large. So, instead of failing, being in control reminds us, like the Op said, to stop once in such a condition of trying to chase more wins. This same chase for money has increased the rate of gambling addicts around the globe. With the speed it's moving it'll be hard to come to an end easily. Hence gamblers need to restrict themselves from moving too fast in looking for wealth via gambling. The few wins they see for now are quite great, till they get the bigger win. The problem starts once a gambler begins gambling and insisting on winning the jackpot the same day. Such gamblers won't be able to get hold of their pace, until their whole money is swept by the house. The family of an affected gambler while working on the compulsory treatment needs to stop funding their child, so that they won't continue gambling. Some may be afraid of the risk of taking a loan, but most times parents don't question why their child keeps asking for money more than he used to in the past. Thereby, fastening the pace at which the gambling gets into a more difficult problem gambling.
1257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can somebody make a successful career in gambling on: December 26, 2023, 10:51:28 PM
The thing is that you don't know when you are going to win.

You can win in your first bet. Or on your 100th, or never.

That's just how probabilities work, you never know what's going to happen, you only know the odds, but the actual results can vary.
Yes, that's true, and it keeps people trying and hoping they can win someday. They may not count how much money they have used to gamble and lost at gambling. They just want to win from gambling. But to get success in gambling is difficult, and we don't know how much money we have to use before we can be successful at gambling. And possibility after possibility of winning will continue to make us try, especially if we still want to achieve that success. We should be able to respond wisely so that we don't experience large losses.

The player has some funds to win through gambling. Unless the casino has no provably fair feature or operates a 100% house edge, the gambler has some percent to win in every $100 they wager in a casino. Depending on how well they try to wager the money. Not talking about a player who wagers his money at once. Those who want to target the reward per $1000 wager, can be staking $50 - $100. Players looking at $100 can focus on wagering smaller amounts like $5 or $10 to enjoy their game till it gets to that threshold. However, it is not made to look this way in the casino, but the house knows a way of rewarding players, to keep them in the casino, thereby making more money for the house. If a gambler doesn't win at all, he won't be energized or motivated to gamble again. So, a gambler who's determined to take gambling as a career must know the house edge and the provably fair of the casino they want to make their office.

It's encouraged that the gambler starts up with a good amount of money and wagers accordingly to extend his days of gambling and increase his possibility of not running out of money. Given time he'll be earning some money to add up his existing bankroll. Thereby enjoying extra days of gambling. If he's well calculative he won't run out of money. But, the player needs to have spent years mastering the act of gambling, to consider gambling a retirement plan or a form of career for the long term. He may not expect to earn more profit, the gambler will not be in profit but can maintain his money not to finish. Moreover, if a gambler is not organized or has the skill to manage his money or be carried away to lose control of his plans, he should venture into such a risky game as a business. But the possibility is there to make a career in gambling.
1258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lack of proper knowledge on casino games increases chance of loss and reduce fun on: December 26, 2023, 10:29:56 PM
It's true that when one lack knowledge about gambling and feels like he could just engage gambling like that, then he may ended having losses and that alone nay cause him to being depressed and unhappy because he never know and understand the risk in gambling yet, the way such is seing gambling is different from how it appears in reality, this is to encourage us that we need to embrace learning before going ahead in doing anything we so wish to have done in gambling.
Of course we will experience losses in gambling if we do not understand well about the gambling we are playing and also this will make us unable to enjoy the game and also we will suffer many losses in gambling, it is important for us to understand the risks of losses that will occur. We can make mistakes when gambling and it is also very important for us to be able to control our emotions when gambling.
We must understand well the gambling we play and we must also be able to enjoy every game we play because if we cannot enjoy the game, of course we will experience losses in the gambling we play.

Gambling requires knowledge, yes, but it can be grouped under some categories like limitations. A gambler who claims that he owns a pattern or knowledge that guarantees him a sure win is not right. Gambling has no accurate means of winning, regardless of our level of understanding of a game or gambling, generally. The importance of learning in gambling, is to figure out ways of avoiding much loss of money and be able to correct our mistakes. In the case of OP, he happened to be new in the game of black roulette it's acceptable that he needs some knowledge of the game, but it doesn't matter in winning or losing. He could win if he was lucky to play using a machine that was programmed to fetch him some wins after wagering few amount of money. I noticed that the machines determine how we win. In the physical casino, the machine we play with matters, and some pro gamblers have testified that it's crucial to play with one machine and master how it works. But the house also figures this out and reprograms the machine after maybe a week. Not to be on the losing side.

The house and the gamblers are in an endless competition of who is most observant. But, the only casinos may work uniquely, may be it'll be coded or programmed to pay out some amount of money once the player has spent a specific amount while playing the game. So, most gamblers don't understand how the machine works, and for that, they need to be observant of their money, not the machine, instead. At least, saving up money is also part of winning. No need to spend money on a machine one has no prior knowledge about. In a nutshell, the knowledge we need in gambling is broad and should be used accordingly, most especially to suit the house edge. The house needs money and works each day to earn through the gamblers, and the gamblers do their best to earn from the casino too. So, gamblers need to be careful and in control of each action they choose to take while gambling. As it's their responsibility.
1259  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: December 26, 2023, 10:03:02 PM
This post is a bit ambiguous, you tell people to stop being addicted to gambling, but you also tell people to have fun while gambling.
What you need to know is that each person's gambling addiction cannot be predicted. There are many people who consider themselves addicted but they only play 2x a week.
There is also the opposite, playing gambling almost every day but not wanting to be considered a gambling addict.

So let them enjoy it, they addicts will have their own way of gambling.
Whether it's when you run out of money or don't have anything or even an internet connection to gamble online.
Because what I understand here is that you are talking about online gambling addiction.
Basically, gambling addiction is a very troublesome thing, especially since it can destroy a person's life. I think gambling addiction can be categorized if someone does it every day and even when they lose continuously and for someone who does it because they want to relieve stress once or twice a week that is not considered a gambling addiction.

Everyone can categorize themselves as being heavy gamblers or not and as long as they fail to control themselves then they are definitely addicted to gambling. However, this does not ignore the fact that sometimes there are gamblers who have run out of money but still borrow money from their friends and that is where the peak of gambling addiction becomes increasingly difficult to stop. So again, being able to stop gambling is something you can do yourself, not someone else.

Stopping or curing gambling addiction needs the collaboration of the addicts to respond to therapy. Like any other sickness, the patient needs to respond to treatment. The same applies to gambling addiction, even though the gambler can't do it alone, if he doesn't want to change or attend therapy sessions, he won't be able to heal or get cured. Addiction works in different ways for people, and the goal for any gambling newbie is to understand that in gambling we all need to remove addiction from our minds. It's fair to be cautious of something, but a person who doesn't think of it or know about it has no reason to be cautious about that same thing. A person may not detect earlier whether he's addicted or not, but along the line, he'll learn that his actions are becoming glued to gambling and he won't control it anymore. Hence, he may not be able to get hold of himself to gamble only two times a week. Provided he has some funds, he'll gamble every single moment.

While those who have no access to money will need to borrow or do some other risky things to generate money for gambling, some addicts who have not gone deep can begin to rethink why they're in a bad financial situation. Luckily, they'll have observant family or spouse who would be concerned about their situation and may begin to question them about their new behavior. Whenever a person's behavior changes people around him notice it and most times neglect to take actions or engage in a discussion that can lead the person to say, unknowingly, what's the problem or makes him transfer aggression to people around him. Indeed, gambling is fun, but addiction spoils the whole concept of gambling. However, it's self-inflicted, nobody is to be blamed for it. The factors leading to addiction, can't be completely known. Most often the actions or habit of the addict aren't their fault. Therefore, whoever is close to an addicted person should take it upon themselves to help the person change.
1260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips to avoid compulsive thoughts related to anxiety on: December 26, 2023, 09:42:32 PM
Gambling causes anxiety and it leads to fear in the life of the gambler, which is not recommendable for the mental growth of anybody. When a gambler is afraid while gambling or thinks his next result could be a loss or maybe he could get bankrupt due to gambling he's stressing his brain and soon enough he begins to reason like that whenever he gambles or even outside the casino. Hence following some reading procedures works great, because most of the books you listed, Op, recommends visiting a professional like a therapist to help change the gambler from struggling with anxiety. A good percent of gamblers are stressed each day, and feel this same fear of losing out money, and when faced with the losses they won't face the defeat and stop or go home, instead they go on to get back their money out of fear. What fuels this attitude should be elaborated more.

Does it mean the brain is getting comfortable with being afraid or uneasy about the results the gambler gets while gambling? A gambler is afraid of losing money, which leads to anxiety. When he loses the money, leads to addiction. When addicted leads to no fear of losing money. He gets used to the anxiety and is not bothered about what outcome of gambling he gets. Hence, he gambles regardless of the fear or pain, he only has one motive, winning a huge amount of money. It seems to me that the process revolves and gets to a point that may have been a good decision if the gambler was wise enough in the beginning stage not to be afraid of losing in gambling, then back it up with money management. Maybe have other reasons for gambling. Anxiety doesn't allow the gambler enough time to think, he only reasons the fear in him, then makes a series of mistakes out of fear. CBT I think requires a second party that will guide the addict to focus on doing his assignments or other things that may distract him from gambling.
