A bad period for stocks would fit the thesis of Bitcoin staying down/muted for a few more months. If Bitcoin then also catches a cold from falling stocks (risk off), a scenario of $4,800 could materialise. But the master seems to have increasing faith in the medium term.

I think the dev is just busy making money in his real job after the crypto crash he like many others must be hurting for money he cant focus on this side hobby to much.
id give him the benefit of the doubt

This seems much more plausible indeed than conspiracies of predetermined setup of investors.

Not so much about crypto but a nice overview of some economic macro themes into 2019: https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-10-20/ecb-worst-run-central-bank-world-feliz-zulauf-sees-30-plunge-us-stocks-taking-world?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+zerohedge%2Ffeed+%28zero+hedge+-+on+a+long+enough+timeline%2C+the+survival+rate+for+everyone+drops+to+zero%29

If the US stock markets indeed go down with 25-30%, I think this would support the 'Bitcoin to $4,800 thesis' before the next bull run.

That would suggest a lot of patience.

Not specifically TA but there are plenty of thoughts around that the dull period could last far into 2018. Not at $6,500 exactly but within a rather small bandwidth. Cherish such a period if you still want to add to your position.

Continuing to watch this carefully. Continued drift away from red line.  Possible floor forming at $6350.   Also wary of Saturday night fuckery.

I love your TA updates but perhaps we should not focus too much on the short term. The directionless low volume periods are well known to Bitcoin old timers and can last very long. Ideally, I see this heading towards a sloping down spike or mega dump, constituting the formal capitulation. But cold reasoning tells me that sentiment is too strong for this (2013 double pump similarity).

With such unclarity abound, trading makes no sense. HODL and accumulate with DCA advantage should be the preferred strategy then.

It is clear that I have PoW on my mind. Something that the Bitcoin community really has to think about in terms of putting forward a simple ELI5 response when another no-coiner utters the words: "but ... but ... PoW energy consumption".

In this respect, perception matters. Do not give adversaries a chance to use this as an angle of attack.

[edit]micgoossens, that looks like a regular schuurfeest somewhere on a farmer's land instead of an official Oktoberfeste zelt auf die Messe. But still good fun  ;. [/edit]

"trojan horse to a cashless society"

Ahem, by all means we are a cashless society already. Thinking that this will move in the other direction soon with networking/mobile/digitalisation only just having started in earnest, is chasing dreams.

You're too late, bro. That ship has sailed (with Gold lost along the way).

Key point is that the next bull run is probably at least a few months ahead.

What do fiat, derivatives, shitcoins, and any other type of scam you can think of all have in common?  They can all be transferred effortlessly over a digital cable because...you're not actually transferring anything of value at all.

It is transferring beliefs (implied or actual). Quite a human achievement I would say.
1259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: October 18, 2018, 08:37:49 PM
I fully understand the disappointment. But other cryptocard projects have similar delays:
*Plutus
*TenX

Earlier cards were withdrawn again because of issuer problems.

Each of these projects is basically going through the same muddy and slow procedure to get a card on the market.

It is always interesting to see people make it a job of pouring negative energy in a project they already deem failed.

Boys, if it is a fail you cut your losses and go back to mommy, searching for another opportunity. Time waits for no one.
