12541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much do/would you donate/crowdfund and to what kind of projects? on: August 18, 2016, 05:58:13 AM
There are bitcoin freelance sites out there, there aren't many people on here looking for workers. If there are, there are only small or dust-paying jobs. I'd just use google to find jobs.

Welcome to the forum. In this forum there are 4 types of people:

People who don't have a signature campaign and post to provide people with relevant info about Bitcoin. 2%

People who have a signature campaign and post to provide people with relevant info about Bitcoin. 33% (like me Smiley)

People who have a signature campaign and post to get money through it. In other words, they don't care about the information they provide. 50%

Farmers who make 10 accounts at a time and spam to develop these accounts and sell them after a while. 15%

So you can see the majority are people who don't really care about the forum. Therefore, I don't find any point in donating Bitcoin to the forum.

Smiley

Where did you get those numbers? I don't believe a word coming out of that keyboard of yours. Utter garbage. Not even on topic!

Just click on the little ignore button, if these negative posters piss you off, I do it all the time. ^smile^ OP, back to your topic, create a killer game to match PokeMon GO, but just a Bitcoin version, and you will surely get some funding from a lot of people.

PokeMon GO is trending at the moment, so you might want to strike while the iron is hot. ^enjoy^
12542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 0.13.0 Binary Safety Warning on: August 18, 2016, 05:49:55 AM
Is the attacking of the binaries a new angle to take control of the network, or just a attempt to steal a bunch of coins and to discredit the security of a decentralized network? If this succeeded, we would have been in serious problems. Good work catching this early and sending out warning notices before it happened. ^smile^
12543  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I mine etc and How do I add to hash rate on: August 17, 2016, 06:28:01 AM
We have a whole mining section dedicated to these types of questions, just go here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=14.0 There are many different ways to mine and lots of hardware to invest in. Do your calculations before you just dive into this, because profitability is based on lots of factors that are not under your control. For example, difficulty adjustments; Bitcoin/Alt coin price etc.. ^hmmmmm^
12544  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are crypto tokens? on: August 17, 2016, 06:20:24 AM
If I can simplify without linking it directly to Crypto currencies, I would use the following example : The kids entertainment venues do not use fiat coins in the coin operated games anymore, they switched to tokens. It is still a coin, but it is not minted by the government. It still reflects a certain value.

The Bitcoin token is a digital version of that and even other Alt coins and Ether as you mentioned. They are used to represent a currency value. The Bitcoin token can also be used to represent something else, other than a currency to transfer value. ^smile^
12545  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ways of earning bitcoin on: August 17, 2016, 06:11:57 AM
If you have time, and you have a little bitcoin to burn, then you can start day-trading. You can even play around with CFD's at https://1broker.com/ if you get into trading. If I were you, I would drop faucets and other non-productive methods and just focus on one thing.

Good luck and enjoy! ^smile^
12546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin song from Nov19 2012 on: August 17, 2016, 06:02:44 AM
We have some very talented Bitcoin musicians in our community, and I would one day want to see a Bitcoin song, hitting the number 1 spot on the music charts. Would that not boost adoption like crazy, if we had everyone singing and dancing to a Bitcoin song?

Let all Bitcoin artists unite, to create the ultimate Bitcoin song. ^smile^
12547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sending Euro on the bitcoin blockchain. EURt will replace Transferwise on: August 17, 2016, 05:53:40 AM
Correct me if I am wrong, but Tether is somehow pegged to the fiat currencies and then linked to fiat bank accounts. What happens with the funds in these accounts, when the banks block these accounts? Is this not centralization based on the Blockchain to transfer fiat value?

Give the slow thinkers a boost here. ^smile^
12548  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin daily technical analysis (for trading with 1hr time frame) on: August 17, 2016, 05:46:37 AM
In the Bitcoin world, a lot can happen in a 1 hour time frame. It is for this reason I stopped day trading, because it becomes a full time job to watch the price and to play the game. I now just hoard a bunch of coins and when the price drops, I buy more.

Once I have reached my target price, I sell a small percentage to refund my own investment in fiat and then play around with the profits. ^smile^
12549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Companies Who Reimburse Losses Stay Alive on: August 17, 2016, 05:40:05 AM
Those are big words, coming from Xapo, the question is, will they honor that promise when $80 000 000 and higher gets stolen? They might have insurance to cover losses like this, but I should think that something like that, must cost a fortune every month.

Let's see if they will honor that promise. ^smile^
12550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin moved above $10,000 USD per coin what would you do? on: August 17, 2016, 05:33:12 AM
I would pay off some of my debt and then breath a little bit easier every money, by having my debt recalculated and having a smaller debt repayment every month. I have been trying to do this for years now, but as soon as I get some sort of bonus, one of the appliances break down and I have to replace it or something happens with the house. ^hmmm^

Like someone said here before, " We are like little rats in a wheel, slaves to the fiat system. "
12551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what are the trusted list of bitcoin wallet and site? on: August 16, 2016, 12:11:14 PM
If you want 100% safety then I will suggest bitcoin core or paper wallet where only you have control of your keys, with other wallets your keys are accessible by wallet developers

Blockchain is actually believed widely among bitcoin users but we never know their wallets may get hacked sometimes i dont know, so it is always better not to keep a lot of coins in an online wallet like that and just keep them in a hardware wallet.

Their services got hacked few times long time ago, there's critical bug when create new address in mobile application, their services often down these days and i heard some people have problem if they activate 2FA.
Those what i mentioned already fixed, but who knows if it's still safe to keep your bitcoin there.

Also know, online methods of storing Bitcoins are actually the least safest option to do that. The core rule in saving any coins are the following : If only you have control over the private key, it is the safest option. The next question will be, " Where do you have sole control over your private key? " - Answer : Offline storage for example paper wallets and also hardware wallets like the Trezor. The main concern comes with online services managing the private key on your behalf. This is the last option you should use, if you want to manage your own money.
12552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if POKEMON GO let people earn Bitcoin? on: August 16, 2016, 10:24:49 AM
What if POKEMON GO let people sell the pokemons they caught for fraction of Bitcoins?

Imagine this:

A person caught a Pokemon and sell them for 0.0003526 BTC

People who collects Pokemon can buy them on the online marketplace.
People from all over the world would have exotic rare pokemons for sell on the marketplace.

Original Post:

And what`s the point of selling and buying pokemons when people can catch them for free?

The Digital goods area of this forum is full with pokemon go sellers,by the way. Grin

Maybe there is demand.

Well you might catch them for free, but if these Pokemon items can have limited quantities, then not all people will be able to get them. If there is a demand for something and people are allowed to trade, then people will pay insane amounts to get them. Just look at Bitcoin as a example. ^smile^ The problem comes in, when these items are faked. I would suggest putting some sort of Blockchain based technology in place, where a item is digitally stored and reflected on a open transparent system, like the Blockchain. You can then exchange and trade these items, because it cannot be faked. ^hmmmm^
12553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Center NYC CTO Andrew Martin Passes Away At Age 21 on: August 16, 2016, 06:54:41 AM
It's always sad to see young people dying before they even started their career and their life. It is even worst when a young guy with so much drive for Bitcoin and a passion to make it succeed, pass away. My condolences to everyone that has known him and a huge thank you from the community for what he has done. ^RIP^
12554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Takara Bitcoin Game Lets You Collect BTC And Counterparty Tokens on: August 16, 2016, 06:37:20 AM
Why do people go for Counterparty tokens and not Bitcoins directly? The moment I see tokens, I see people creating money out of thin air, like the fiat system and pump n dump type of schemes. We want games like this based purely on Bitcoin, not some shady tokens.

We have a working token called, Bitcoin that cannot be manipulated by supplying unlimited virtual tokens, why why why?

Nice idea, having a marketplace for Pokemon and being able to trade them for Bitcoin. Interesting idea.

The only issue; there are no "rare" Pokemon aside from maybe 3-4 dozen (within the ENTIRE franchise may I add) and the spawn rates for most Pokemon within the game make it so that every Pokemon can be relatively be easily caught, crashing the market. Tweaking the rates and changing that now means that you might have a Pay-to-win game (via a marketplace for stronger Pokemon) and that would turn people off from it, at least for most places.

Also, GPS spoofing and Pokemon farmers would become a thing, and they would massacre the market. There would be no value left if you had enough people running phones using spoofing software to get and sell rare Pokemon. Solving this issue is not always easy, and coding a program to put on a jailbroken phone or android device would negate the ability to determine whether the person was running from a PC or phone.
That's a good point to be honest, because when you compare it to something like World of Warcraft of whatever that had a ton of gold farmers at some point who would literally take the most valuable resource in the game and farm it into near worthlessness, how do you think it would play out on a free mobile game with a marketplace that uses a currency that can be directly exchanged to cash? Everyone and their mother would have a farmer working doubly so to catch as many Pokemon as possible and proceed to crash the value.

This can be easily solved by linking this to a exchange environment, where supply & demand determine the price. You can also created limited edition Pokemon's per week, that would only be available for that week. A lot more work will go into the creation of unique Pokemon's when monetary value is added.

The game as it is now, do not offer this option and are not geared for these unique Pokemon's, but it can be changed.
12556  Economy / Speculation / Re: Would the bitfinex ''hack'' be the trigger of the next major rally? on: August 15, 2016, 06:56:16 AM
I hope we will have a bit of a steady growth period now, and not this volatility every week. As a retailer, I hate this volatility, because it ties my moving capital down. I have to wait for the price to rise before I can convert back to fiat. In many instances I had to wait for 2 to 3 week.

I always sell at a 5% higher price to cover the fees for that conversion. ^smile^
12557  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A comma or full stop in address on: August 15, 2016, 06:49:31 AM
Also check something else before you just paste a address without looking. Their are some Malware that recognize, when you copied a Bitcoin address and then it replace that address with it's own address and you will not notice it before it is to late. It has happened with a lot of people already, so it seems to be quite common.

I only add this advice, because it looks like you might be a possible target, if you do not double check the content you posted. ^smile^
12558  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What is The Best site to buy BitCoin? on: August 15, 2016, 06:43:03 AM
It all depends on what you are willing to give up. ^smile^ If you do not mind intrusion into your private financial matters and you live in a country where regulated exchanges are operating, you can buy Bitcoin from sites like Coinbase. If privacy is important to you, then avoid these regulated exchanges with all the verification. I use Localbitcoin ^smile^
12559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Brain wallet password based on fingerprint? on: August 15, 2016, 06:34:55 AM
Golly, you people are so much more security savvy than I am. I'd be dead impressed with myself if I was using fingerprints for stuff. I suppose fingers can be cut off and retinas gouged out. I'll be waiting for a scanner that reads my eternal soul. Until then passwords do the job.

We had a company doing a demo with one of the scanners and they have done independent test with fingers from dead people and it did not work. It has something to do with the electric current or energy that are within a living finger. He says not all devices have this feature, but their technology did.

So your cheaper brand scanners might be fooled by a finger being cut off or a eye being gouged out. ^grrrrr^
12560  Economy / Exchanges / Re: is CEX.IO trusted company? on: August 15, 2016, 06:28:49 AM
I used to trade on their platform without any trouble, but back in the days they hosted cloud mining services and their fees was very, very high. I did not reach ROI on that effort and they closed it down, when it became unsustainable. The support team was also not what it was supposed to be and the chat area was very strictly moderated. ^smile^
