Have you PMed the DT1 members yet? E.g. OgNasty is DT1, and has posted in this thread. But of the 5 DT members that have tagged digaran, OgNasty has none of them on his trust list. OgNasty has the ability to exclude me from the network outright. Any DT1 member does, in fact. Whether they want to or not is up to them. I think a big part of the problem is educating on how the system works. Let me try and simplify. If you trust someone, you can leave a rating reflecting that. If you don't trust someone, you can decline to leave them a rating. If someone has engaged in untrustworthy behavior, you can leave them a rating reflecting that. *Here's where it gets tricky. If you don't agree with someone else's ratings, you can exclude them from your trust network. If you agree with someone's trust ratings, you can include them in your trust network. What you shouldn't do is... Leave someone negative ratings because you don't like their trust ratings. Leave someone a positive rating to counter someone else's rating. There are of course extenuating circumstances for every action and that is where the importance of judgement and decentralization comes into play. The goal here should be to create a network of trust that accurately reflects an individual's trustworthiness.*Do not confuse excluding someone from your trust network with leaving negative trust ratings. |

Guys we are arguing with dozerz about whether he should sell his coin for under peel or not cmon. Its up to him whether thats worth the risk or not. As a buyer thats why its tough because you dont want to buy or value the coin with the shitcoins attached but the seller has to because why take risk on top of selling it for less than what they can get by spending a little time and effort and peeling. Thats why these shitforks are killing off the low premium loaded coins. Is what it is.
I look forward to the day when the rarity of these coins makes it so their premium outweighs their loaded value. I say keep undervaluing them and force people to peel.  |

Not sure why you'd block PMs from someone who you were trying to use as an escrow agent (while providing a fake BTC address in a false quote, of course). Perhaps a misguided attempt at keeping me from communicating with your victim? In any event, the email obviously wasn't from me, nor were any of the quotes that you were forwarding. Thank you for making this public though. Maybe if people see the kind of crap I have to deal with on a daily basis, they'll understand the 'nasty' attitude and why I have little patience for attempted scammers.
Right, now I start to get all of that. I did not block PMs from you, this guy did it. After he somehow got my account credentials... and I thought that you had blocked me , as I've sent you some PM but was informed, that you had blocked messages from me, or something like that. Well, then I really would like to have an explanation from you OgNasty. Because if there was no negative trust given from you, I would never deal with anyone this way. This was the only thing that kept me thinking you were part of the deal. You should be embarrassed to admit you thought I was part of this deal. Every message I received was met with something along the lines of, "screw off scammer." Your trading partner got them all, but you having me blocked kept you from seeing them. After you continued sending messages with fake quotes from me, I left the well deserved scammer tag and blocked you as I was sick of hearing why I need to be a part of this deal, which was an obvious scam attempt. Then, even though I wanted no part of this deal (you had me blocked, so we never exchanged a single communication) you still try and rope me into some half witted scam accusation. I left a new trust rating for you directing people to your long post of evidence here so they can judge if my trust is accurate or not. A search for "ognasty.bitcointalk@techie.com" on google finds zero results. Peel value is what it is, but it certainly needs some additional work and skills to get. Bcash is relatively easy to sell for bitcoins, but the rest of the alts may not be. There are various things to do..: finding a (reliable) wallet software that supports importing airdrop alts (most likely you'll need to get several different wallets/clients for this), or maybe some service to do this for you (bad for privacy!!). Then you need to trade those altcoins to e.g. bitcoins. That may require KYC/AML and/or using shady exchanges. All in all, some knowledge, effort and time is required to do all of this properly & safely. Therefore "peel value" might in the end be just the bitcoin (and maybe bcash) value for many.
I'm not surprised that the average cryptocoiner does not see nor understand the risks nor difficulties involved in claiming forks, especially when their number is very high and the time between a sale and actual time of potential redeem is somewhat long. Most of the forks could plummet to zero overnight[1].
[1] A very notable example of this is BitcoinX, currently having the most value per Bitcoin after Bcash. I'm not surprised that people without finance experience don't see that the value of something isn't determined by the owner's proficiency of claiming forks. The "risks" of claiming forks from an address that no longer holds BTC/BCH/BTG are so minimal it isn't worth seriously discussing unless you have some sort of superiority complex or are trying to buy this coin for less than it's value. |

You highlighted a big reason why the DT system is struggling.
Politics. You can have two people with the same morals and same hatred of scammers, but one little cultural slight or misread of a post and BOOM - they are now fighting with each other. I'm not sure how the system can be changed for the better without letting the multiple account Quickscammer take over. :/ Unfortunately, I think it will take other DT1 members being attacked the way I was and deciding that they are ok getting hit with a little red in order to be part of the solution instead of the problem. DT1 members expanding their trust networks to include more trusted longterm members who haven't engaged in shady behavior is a start. |

I've traded with owlcatz and found him trustworthy to do trades with. As you can see, my rating towards owlcatz is from 2016 (when I traded with him). Owlcatz' trust feedback towards you (and from you to him) have happened in the last 6 months if I see it right. I've not been following what happened there, so I'm not familiar with the case that resulted in those ratings. OgNasty, do you have any suggestions? How to improve DT system? You highlighted a big reason why the DT system is struggling. You had no issue removing your trust for me in spite of all that I've done for users of this forum (safeguarding literally tens of thousands of BTC), but owlcatz is trustworthy? I've seen other DT members use this same tired excuse for why they continue to trust individuals who clearly don't deserve it. Maybe you should start by looking at your own ratings instead of trying to overhaul the system. Change starts in the mirror. Comments like this are why nobody takes your opinion seriously and why I immediately added you to my exclusion list a long time ago. |

This significantly reduces the chance of finding a buyer. The link you used does not provide an accurate representation of fork value; you should only consider Bcash at best. Why would he consider less than the actual value? If he's going to peel it and claim all the coins, that's what buyers are up against, not what YOU perceive as the only valuable coins. Not only that, but he could add a few bits to the price as the peeled coin is still of value to collectors and then a few more as peeling yourself has reduced risk to shipping the loaded coin.  |

Speaking personally, I don't think the problem is lack of Merit Sources. I think the problem is that everyone is creating guides or making threads aimed at helping new users to try and earn a ton of Merits because that's how some Merit swindlers have chosen to reward themselves through their alts. Then when the Merits don't come flooding in like in the threads they see from others, they get discouraged. If you actually want to earn Merits, you will engage users that are encountering issues and help them resolve their problems.

Every retailer should have their own blockchain for customer rewards and there should be an exchange along with an app so that you can use rewards from anywhere to pay for anything.
Example: Using McDonalds coins from buying a Big Mac to purchase gasoline.
