1262  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Newbie] Mining for BitCoins on: December 30, 2012, 10:20:15 PM
I know you're probably building this rig mainly for entertainment/gaming purposes, but just to make sure you're aware, soon ASIC mining devices will hit the market, and when they do, GPU mining will be dead, expect a 20-40x decrease in mining income (very likely more) once they hit due to the increased network difficulty.

Here are some of the ASIC manufacturers, as you can see, these devices cost much less $ per MH & use much less watts per MH, they are currently only available on pre-order though.

Looks like they've gotten 101.628 BTC so far (uses the same BTC address for all the orders):

I feel sorry for the guy who sent 72.109BTC.
1264  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there risk to give your bitcoin address? on: December 30, 2012, 02:25:33 PM
If you want to keep your anonymity, you should be using different addresses for different transactions.
1265  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Buy bitcoin via creditcard or paypal, how ? on: December 30, 2012, 12:32:16 PM
PayPal and Credit card payments can be reversed, Bitcoin payments cannot.

This is the reason you won't find anyone (or atleast, very few people) accepting them for BTC, as you could just call your bank/PayPal and have them reverse the transaction.

I haven't been following this thread for 2 or 3 months now, can someone give me a summary of everything that has happened?

tl;dr; Dank goes insane
1267  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC4Amazon is Real on: December 29, 2012, 03:47:51 AM

Kind of off topic, but is your profile picture 'cosmo the god'?

Apparently we both use the same profile picture, lol.

Yes its the same girl, no she's not cosmo.
1269  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Oh ! It's there already ! on: December 28, 2012, 10:15:35 AM
Sure, if you have a cool 10 million USD lying around.  Grin

I thought the cryogenics system that is needed to house it cost 10 million & the actual computer itself costs much more than that.
1270  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anon Stickers! on: December 27, 2012, 09:32:51 PM
You know, you could've just told us you are the seller, instead of pretending to be an interested buyer.

Listing currently has no sales, seller signed up today, 4 views on the listing, can't find any information on "anoniem" on the internet. Would seem like you are the seller or atleast somebody affiliated with him/her.

This one fits better age-wise and was arrested on 4 July this year.

Yeah, this is the real dank. I had figured that out after my last post in this thread but decided the other guys photo was funnier so I'd leave you all believing that was him. Grin You saw it here first guys, this is our first picture of the forum's problem child.

The day & month being switched around in the dates (US format) had confused me too. Hence why I messed them up.

Hi Reuben,

Are you any relation to Daniel Metcalfe?
1274  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I send bitcoins from my mining program(GUIminer) to my wallet on: December 27, 2012, 06:01:46 PM
how do I know how much a bitcoin share is worth?

For PPS its:
(1 / Current Difficulty) * (25*pool pay rate)

so if your pool pays out 95%, at current difficulty:

(1 / 2979637) * (25*0.95)=
0.00000797076 BTC/ share

The networks current difficulty can be found at http://bitcoindifficulty.com/
1275  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I send bitcoins from my mining program(GUIminer) to my wallet on: December 27, 2012, 05:50:52 PM
You need to login to your pool & request a payout, or check when your pool does payouts.
1276  Economy / Goods / Re: WTB entropykey on: December 27, 2012, 02:07:10 PM
Damn, that seems pretty expensive for what it is. I want one as well, but damn, not for that price.
1277  Other / Off-topic / Re: The inevitable fate of the usd, bitcoin and the world on: December 27, 2012, 01:40:21 PM
I don't think it's him. I mean, that dude is charged with possetion with intent to sell or distribute and from paraphernalia im guessing a pipe or a bong.

Thats exactly what I would imagine dank would be nabbed for.

Although that guy in the shot is 21,and Dank mentioned his girlfriend just becoming a college freshman.

Sounds like they're the right ages (the vast majority of the time a guys girlfriend is slightly younger than him).

Then there's the smile on the dude (pretty ebin) :---DDDDD

He just looks high as fuck to me. Looking at him actually makes me feel high.
1278  Other / Off-topic / Re: The inevitable fate of the usd, bitcoin and the world on: December 27, 2012, 01:25:23 PM
Is that dank?

Could very well be.

My name is Sean Martin, from Raleigh, NC.

Also, dank stopped posting on the forum from July 6th to July 10th. This guy was arrested on July 7th.

You know, when I see this thread -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=41025.0
I wonder how he came to the idea to register this particular domain in the first place.

This domain has been registered since July 18, 2010. If anything, bitcoin-central.net stole the name from the OP as it was registered 4 months later.
