Hi guys! I'm new in the Bitcoin business. I built a PC from old components wich I got from other people who didn't use them anymore. After the Christmas I want to buy an ASIC Miner to start mining. Should I connect it to that very weak PC (CPU: Single Core with unknown frequency; GPU: Integrated on the motherboard, 32MB of RAM.) or to my better and new PC? I suggest looking at SP20 and S4 currently. Neither one requires a computer except for setup. Days of needing a computer for GPU/CPU are dead for most.

A static ip on what, my router - my secondary router that is acting as a bridge between my first routers wifi and the ethernet that is connecting the to the miner, or the miner?
Static ip on miner. You might want to review your main router dhcp setting. Sometimes if the optional field is left blank(default gateway & dns) some devices can not connect properly. By using the same settings that allowed me to have the miner connect to the internet before (laptop network bridge, dhcp server running on bridge) i am now not able to connect to my miner and edit its settings. I am starting to feel like there is something up with this miner.... I've been trying to get it to work for around 10 hours total now and am getting pretty tired of it. I'll put some more time in tomorrow, I appreciate all the help. Dima from our team will PM you with his email to try and help you. If all fails, do a micro SD recovery to bring the miner to it's default state: http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/blogs/technical-blog/13098521-sp10-sp2x-sp3x-recovery-sd-card-boot-sd-card-creation-instructionsI hope this helps with your setting static IP. If it is set wrong use SD recovery as SP team suggested to gain access again. Reading about your network I would use first router if possible, going 3 devices down just is kinda a cluster. Once you have access to miner again hook computer to 1st router in your network. (Were trying to make it easier and not have 3 devices in between the internet). With computer go to command line and type in it "ipconfig". This will show you your network settings. With it being shown use this to fill in network static IP information (assuming DHCP is still not working for your network). The first Lan IP address is the static address you will use for miner, make sure it is not being used by another device.

Wat... this has "let me do a double spend" written all over it.
It also has someone who was not thinking. Not even a chance this will happen.

I love this a company making a joke out of something. Got a laugh never saw this before. Is there a limit on these?

Technobit usually only sell the miner. The accessories is not included. But this time they sell it included the controller(TPLINK TL-MR3020) & usb cable. OFC the power supply is not included. You need to buy it in computer store. TPLINK TL-MR3020 will act as "PC". Basically technobit upgrade the TL-MR3020 firmware to openwrt. You can access the configuration page using web interface by calling the TL-MR3020 ipaddress from your computer. For more information about the controller please read here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=476326.0Or you can ask me Ahh, I see. I might have trouble finding the right hardware but i'll have a look into it. Thanks for the link. [/quote] The TPLINK is common and easy to get at most online computer stores (Ex. newegg etc.). Normally around 20 dollars. On power it also has PCI-e where that is extremly easy if you have a PSU sitting around.

so the only way i have been able to get mine to work is by connecting it to my laptop with a network bridge and a dhcp server running on the bridge. Thats not something i can have running all the time.
i purchased another router and am using that to bridge my wireless connections, and have that connect the miner to its LAN slots - this does not work with the routers DHCP enabled or disabled.
I tried a network bridge on my raspberry pi - this did not work either
I tried using the devices onboard usb slot with a wifi dongle, didnt work.
No idea what to do, im going to keep messing with the router I purchased though
Can you sniff with wireshark the router and SP20 DHCP negotiation? i could try but i have no idea how Ok, it will wait to our support on Sunday. See if the router has DHCP related parameters and if so, try to tweak them. If it is just DHCP you are having trouble with have you tried setting a static IP? It is under Settings - Network settings. Make sure to use proper information for your network or it will be unreachable.

The big thing is your electricity cost. If it is very low you might get a deal on old gear. If your electricity is higher efficiency on new gear will be nice.
So some can get a deals others will lose money all depends on that electricity cost.

amen. 20TH netted me over 1.5BTC in the last 36hrs, and probably another 0.7 BTC in the next 24hrs. compared to expected earnings of ~0.6BTC for that same 60hrs Im very pleased and Ive got a good feeling about my recent investment in 3x SP31 units
Im sitting at 16-17T. I paid off my electricity this month during this so I am completely happy. I am mining a few paycoins just because I enjoy the unknown. That being said I still am banking on BTC. I renting 1/2 of them in BTC and mining 1/2 of paycoin for a day or so just to get a few. I will be shocked if they go for 20 dollars anytime soon. I don't see GAW reaching that deep into their pocket but I could be wrong.

You can invest your BTC in mining company, and then receive your profit. Also you can gamble it, it will give you very fast profit, if you know how to win. How do you "know how to win"? I think long term you will always lose gambling in BTC house always has the edge.

I am truly amazed to see two negatives in a row at this point. I am curious what will happen to hashrate in about two days when paycoin mining stops.
It truly a amazing time to be a miner this week.

There are multiple bots if you really have to use it for that.
You could just hold them since already bought. Or there is buying other coins speculating and holding them.

I should have thanked Spondoolies a little more heres what i put in review thread:
I should have done a little more thanks for the chance. Thank you Guy and the rest of the Spondoolies team. Was a great opportunity to do this and was fun.
I am a decent sized hobby miner. And have a little of a wide variety of miners (A1 and newer gear at this point). Not only has the SP20 hardware won me over, but the support of Spondoolies team did aswell.
The equipment it is just very well thought out. For one it just works, I have 2 SP20's and had no issues with them. From someone who had been dealing elsewhere with dead water pumps on miners, and another buying a controller board. I cannot explain how much just working is a breath of fresh air.
I won't go on a long rant. Just thank you Spondoolies and I look forward to future purchases from you.
Also weather did not get as cold as I was hoping hopefully this week I can show it working in freezing cold air.

I have been able to test in single digit cold in Celsius this week. The miner has preformed perfect and here is a review with it mining in the cold- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=896656 I have to say this has become my favorite miner with the testing and doing a review. Thanks Spondoolies for treating me as amazing online as you did in person at the North American Bitcoin Conference in Chicago. I should have done a little more thanks for the chance. I ran 17th and blew my 100amp main fuse (240v)
I ran 16mm2 cabling and 6mm radial sockets for all machines and cables still get warm.
Unless your sockets are wired in 10-16mm and you have 400amp three phase coming into house you won't gey over 15-20th with current miners.
I have multiple power lines from electric company. I have been able to do 16-17T and still have room to grow. It depends on price. Go with SP20 or S4. Your electricity is not bad. I might suggest starting off a little smaller. Going nothing to 20T will create a lot of possible issues. Most homes will not be ready for 20T unless you get a electrician. Also networking need to have it ready. Also something most don't mention is security. Personally I have security with both of my mining areas. I'm sure some skip this but I sleep safe with this.

Sure I have not went to crazy. It been running mostly high 1.6T. It keeps getting colder here I'm hoping to be able to show it run even colder. Tonight it should be in freezing weather (assuming weather is right).

Sadly CPU mining I would say has been a while since profitable. I think no matter what coin you mine it will be at a loss.
CPU and GPU both just use a lot of electricity and results for most don't make it worth while.

Is Yoda the sign holder included?.........hmmmm.....tempted I am It would be someone more powerful then that in the mining world Yoshi. I am impressed with this sale. Wow that is a lot of hash power.
