The daily trading that will be put in place by our resident Trader is for generating profits as he is a well known successful trader on POLONIEX. He will be given a set amount to trade and will post a report to us to post monthly re profits. He is one of the most trustworthy and renowned persons I know and He himself Invested 5.7 BTC before the coin was launched to help cover coin costs and salaries.

He then sold most of his 27,000 QBK at .00024 and higher for a nice 20% profit.

No he didn't..he consulted with me on that and was taking in jest with one of the persons on the trollbox. That is a trollbox..lot of things are said there. Smiley.

Until jtgangus posts in this thread that his statement in the polo trollbox was jest, that statement stands as fact.

You are confusing the concept of fairness with that of equality.

Just a quick note. Fair is about everyone having the opportunity, which clearly was not the case here. Equality I guess would be something like everybody getting the same amount of coins, which is nowhere near to what I was talking about.

Anyway, the only thing that saves the day is the big total number of coins. No big harm has been done thinking long term.

You forgot to add that this is your last post.

Indeed. Views also aren't unique per user so kind of pointless.

Don't feel obligated to defend the decision to delete the other thread. The omnipotence of the mods is not being challenged.  Just the omniscience.

Had a good meta experiment going, but I guess I gotta take it to a place with more enlightened mods.

Poor unnamed mod spoiled the experiment.  Power corrupts, and petty authority caves in the quickest.

Just a note of appreciation for the continuing regular updates by the dev team.  Well done.

I do think you should consider making staging integration builds more easily available to supporters willing to test in their diverse environments. It will improve the robustness of releases, convey project velocity, and save dev team testing time if done right.

Also, I propose an official motto for monero, suitable for business cards, physical coins & c.:

Monero est priquiditas pro populo.

Because: Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum videtur.

Sometimes you appear higher.  (not that there's anything wrong with that)

Why are all OP's centered?

so you can print out the posts and ripoff the margins?

please see my contribution to the white paper (p238) for more detail
1297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: rpietila Altcoin Observer on: August 06, 2014, 12:19:49 AM
Miners tend to keep whatever coins they think will increase in value, and sell when they see the coin going sideways or down.  Botnet owners have little of no overhead, so they just dump like mad.  There is absolutely no positive aspect to having botnets on your coin.

1. I would like to see actual evidence of this as opposed to people just stating it. Is there any?

2. Not having a high cost structure would reduce, not increase the incentive to sell. The people who are most motivated to sell quickly are those with high operating costs (electricity, cloud mining, etc.). So this argument about botnet behavior is illogical in addition to unproven.

Re #2

Speaking for myself only, and note my name - when I get free coins on poloniex (via giveaway, trivia contest, etc), I sell them immediately if they have any aggregate value above, say, .005 BTC.  The exception would be if I had overwhelming evidence that the coin was rising in value.

This week Friday we will have a very special announcement, before going in to a technical discussion, so if you are able to join us live for that then please do so. It will be broadcast live via Google Hangouts on Air, so you'll be able to watch it on YouTube, and during the dev discussion portion following the announcement we'll be available to take questions on IRC in #monero-dev on Freenode.

Can't tell if I should panic buy moar.  Decisions decisions....

Here's the betting line on the very special announcement:

official GUI wallet:  3:2
addition of all-star to dev team:  3:1
acceptance of XMR by McDonald's/Victoria's Secret/BevMo/other  5:1
all else 3:5

Hey. Guy from social bugs me to write an update, we'd lose hype, if we wouldn't post a substantial update today, yada yada yada. But friends came by and I am kind of drunk. So I told him I can not fudge a story for bitcointalk in my condition. So please

with me while I get sober.

At the risk of repeating what I summarized on p238 of the white paper, crypto is no picnic.
