1281  Economy / Lending / Re: Need to borrow .02 for a week (COLLATERAL) on: December 04, 2013, 01:22:07 PM
You know... a few weeks ago I actually gave someone here .02. What's the pay back period?
1282  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Purchasing coins via Moneybookers/PayPal/Credit Card on: December 04, 2013, 01:02:55 PM
Go on a trustworthy forum and buy from trusted people with paypal

Which forum?

No previous trades + New online presence = No Trust. Virwox would be a better option for Paypal.

I think Coin.Mx may have found a way to mitigate credit card charge backs. I've had success with them twice, and I just signed up last night.

Sounds like you're more the admin than the user of that website.

lol, what the heck makes you say that?! Seriously, tho? Is it the way it was worded? ... Dude, that's the professional in me. I don't have much experience communicating on forums but I'm working on it :p  But I do review all the sites I use. And I was pretty impressed with their service. Trust me - if their service starts to degrade, I'll call it out too.

1286  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I try to sell btc , am I getting ripped off or is this how it is. on: December 04, 2013, 06:45:36 AM
I understand your frustration... before the prices went sky high, I wanted to sell 15 BTC all at once because 1) I needed the fiat, and 2) I didn't want to deal with selling piecemeal. Needless to say, I was being low balled like no other. It seems a little unfair... I buy at excessive mark up, but I have to sell wholesale? Ha! I'm lucky to have found a fair buyer.

Perhaps post the offer to sell on this site using bank wire (not sure how safe this is tho). You might find a buyer quickly. Hell, had I not found coin.mx today, I would've asked to buy the somehow.
1287  Economy / Exchanges / Buy BTC Instantly with Credit Cards! on: December 04, 2013, 06:34:39 AM
After a couple of unsuccessful attempts to secure coins from someone on this forum - I can say that I'll never have to ask again (fingers crossed). While I may still be a little new on this forum, I'm no stranger when it comes to buying coins. I have accounts with and use the following to buy BTC. You can search the forums if you'd like to see my .00002 BTC about them:

  • Coinbase - will never get my business again
  • Virwox - suffered through the high fees
  • BTCquick - 2k daily buy limit, no stock - but still love
  • LBC - highly overpriced, used 4 times out of desperation

Here's what happened:
So I reached my monthly buy limit with Virwox today (yes, I buy lots of coins) and Google led me to Coin.mx. I was really skeptical at first, but after spending some time chatting with the live chat operator, I gained a little confidence. Just a quick synopsis of their process:

  • Signed up for account, verified email
  • Answered 4 ID verification questions, got instant verification for deposits
  • Attached my credit card, recorded a video of me holding my card and my ID
  • The live operator reviewed and approved my video, deposit approved
  • Bought BTC and transferred them to my offline wallet

The entire process didn't take longer than 20 minutes. I think I give valuable feedback and try to help members on this forum, especially when it comes to getting coins... but helping to socialize this is my biggest contribution to everyone looking to get BTC for a price - now

Coin.mx Specs:
Fee Schedule:
Credit Card Deposit - 3.5%
Deposit via Bank Transfer - 1.0%
Trades (Buy/Sell) - 0.5%
Withdrawal via Bank Transfer - 1.5%
Transfer to another Wallet - .001 BTC
Based out of Florida

Get 5 USD in your account!
If you decide to open an account - ping the live chat operator Jen. Tell her I referred you and you'll get 5 bucks when you make a deposit... that simple. Oh and respond to this thread to let me know.

Didn't intend to be lengthy, but I think most of you would agree that this is a must needed service in the BTC community. They don't have a thread on this forum for member reviews... should we create one for them?

1289  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: USB Block Erupter Trouble. on: December 03, 2013, 02:15:10 AM
Sorry for the post here.  I am still a noob, so I can't post in the proper forum.

I have spent several hours working on this problem.  I have seen similar threads, but none that have come to a conclusion that would fix the problem I am experiencing.

I picked up some USB block eruptors 333 m.  I am running a windows 8 computer.  It is important to note that the usb devices install and are listed without a problem, in both the device manager and in the devices panel as they should be.  (Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COM3))

(CGMiner 3.8.0) error USB init, open device failed, err -12, you need to install a WinUSB driver for -AMU device 4:7 failed to initialize (incorrect device?)

(BFGMIner 3.8.0) .rpc opens then closes automatically.

---
Things I have tried.
- I've installed zadig, CP210xVCP Windows, and the winusb driver.  Have done all sorts of restarting the computer after installing drivers.
- Have uninstalled the driver and checked delete the information box
- Tried doing these steps on another/older (xp) computer.  Results: Usbs recognised and installed properly, but the errors are the same in cgminer.
- Executing the command from cmd.exe
- Running in admin

I feel like I must be missing an obvious step.  Anyone ?

Downgrade to cgminer 3.5 - might help. I believe the driver you used to rename the devices to 'Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COM3)' is used for bfgminer, not cgminer.

I wouldn't doubt that there is a conflict with the drivers. Uninstall all of them, then try again.

1293  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTB .2 BTC - Paypal on: November 30, 2013, 04:27:32 AM
Really, it just depends on how the seller is feeling at the time.
I might be able to sell you a micro transaction after my BTC - PAYPAL thread goes up, likely in the next 24 hours.  You can see the link in my signature.

I sent you a PM earlier and watching your thread. What's considered a micro transaction anyway?

BTW, I really don't pay attention to signatures, but I like that you have your rep thread there. I'm totally going to bite that once I start mine :p
1294  Economy / Currency exchange / WTB .2 BTC - Paypal on: November 30, 2013, 03:48:11 AM
Figured I'd give it shot  Smiley

I see that some new members are successful in finding a seller while some aren't.

1295  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling 0.02 BTC for Paypal USD on: November 29, 2013, 10:37:26 PM
I'll be willing to do this. I dont mind sending first since you're a mod.

Edit: Don't know if I'd be classed as 'reputable' yet, so if not, no probs, but I am looking to build up some feedback/trades.

I had the same thought -how do you become reputable? I've seen a few posts where it's suggested to start buying... but it's like a catch 22! I can't buy because I don't have an established rep, and I can't get a rep because I can't buy? Maybe I'm missing something?
1296  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone use Virwox??? on: November 29, 2013, 05:30:02 PM
Some strange things happening lately...

My account level went from a Level 3, to 2, then back to Level 1 - now 2 again. Now they've lowered the daily deposit limit for the account levels! WTF? I've always held that Virwox was a better deal to buy with Paypal but it's getting to the point where this method isn't even worth it anymore.

Booo! I'm not promoting this anymore.
1297  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I Give Up!!! on: November 28, 2013, 04:28:20 AM

Any help for a beyond stupid and beyond help, wanting to buy BTCs newbie? Thanks so much you guys and for listening to me vent. -CZ

Have you tried Virwox? They have several methods of payment, to include credit cards and Paypal. You can only deposit a small amount everyday your first 10 days, but every thirty days your limit increases. Initially they hold your BTC withdrawal request for 48 hours, but after your first few orders, it's released instantly.

Here's a link that explains the process. You'll pay a premium, around 5%, but that's a heck of a lot less than some of the prices on LBC.

Don't give up!

Asked for drivers from the supplier they had none. It's probably some cheap china shit I recon...

BTW, I have a few usb hubs left on eBay; great price. Check them out Smiley

Update your miner program... or update our drivers... or a better hub
