Seriously. .. long time since I've seen such an impressive dump on unproven FUD.  An excellent play well executed.

Those kind of stunts gnaw the credibility away from cryptos in general. Makes everything seem like a teenage kids playing and trolling =P

Agree. Fucking terrible really.  This one was well done though.  Credit where it's due.

Seriously effective manipulation. Even if morally repugnant.

Does the IPO last until all the coins you plan to sell have been sold out? I don't see any time limit.

Our IPO will last untill the premine is sold.

I think this is hindering you.

No one wants their BTC tied up for an unidentifiable amount of time. It certainly puts me off.

After C-CEX offered us their escrow services and started to host our ICO we decided it should last for only one month. This means that it will end on the 18th of September or whenever all CKC is sold. We noticed that our FAQ still holds some outdated information. We will make sure to update it today.

In short, our ICO will end:

- on the 18th of September
- when all CKC is sold

thanks for clearing that up Smiley

Dev team. Where does this go if you don't raise the amount of funds you desire?

What is your back up plan?

Our back up plan is our original plan. Checkcoin is a project created by Bitsend a healthy company with a clear goal: "brining cryptocurrency to the people". Checkcoin will do exactly that, we love to work on it, it's who we are. Our ICO is used to speed up development, testing and PR. In any case, we will continue to work on the project using company funds.

Nice to hear.  And if any coins are unsold what happens to them?

Any coins left will be deleted by C-CEX admins.

Perfect response.
1287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [TCO] TileCoin | Decentralized Bill Payments/Investment App | ĐApp on: September 10, 2014, 09:54:39 PM
I think 542 sats for 100m coins is fine, by destroying all unsold coins you are letting the market determine the value of this project. However, I would reduce the ipo period to 1 week instead of 4 weeks. People here get excited about quick returns, not tying up btc for a month on an iffy investment.

1 week... Hmm. Quick returns... Anyone else have suggestions?

Often the problem with 4 weeks is people wait until the end to invest anyway. It depends how ready you are with tech.  If you use trex they will hold your coins until it's ready anyway so may as well do a month. Personally if it's a month I will wait until the end or it is almost sold anyway

If you check the OP-thread you ll see that this is announced as my

We have a French and Dutch translator, does anyone else speak another language that would prefer it be supported in Neos v2?

A Chinese would be really good for the coin

I find myself in an odd catch 22 position here. Keen to invest in this coin but concerned if not enough ipo coins sell there won't be the investment from the devs. So waiting for coins to sell before buying.  I'm sure I'm not the of one. Not selling purely because it's not selling
1296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MID]MidasCoin|New Scrypt PoM|Backed Value|ATM card|Referral|NO IPO|UNIQUE on: September 10, 2014, 07:09:29 AM
This coin was on my radar, then I did some investigating.

Because of this: https://github.com/MidasPaymentLTD/midascoin/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L1778
This disallows ANY pool or solo miner from using their own address for a block to be accepted.

Now, skip ahead to here: https://github.com/MidasPaymentLTD/midascoin/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L4290
You CAN mine, but it wont matter what address you or the pool uses, it will automatically go to the 'tax address.'

Now, this is NOT decentralized. Sure, the VERIFICATION of blocks and transactions is decentralized, CONFIRMS are not. Confirms are when blocks confirm each other in the hashchain.

Since you cannot have a different publickey for an address to generate a block (or have it be accepted by the network at any rate) block generation is centralized.

As per the twitter: https://twitter.com/MidasPay/status/509471382871494656
Image ref: http://puu.sh/bsK4G/e04f5782cd.png

Please send the 10 BTC to this address: 1QuinngrXdsMWM3tejsWqrEJYPDF5ZccW

Again the statement to prove is "only central pool/node can confirm blocks/transaction"

Maybe you didn't noticed, but twitter has a link to this same forum, that specify the statement, why you keep playing on words?  Do it for real!   That's not an ethic discussion of what mean centralized, there is a precise statement!

Prove that only central node can confirm/authorize transactions and you get the bounty.

Challenge is here and is not going anywhere

Prove that only central node can confirm/authorize transactions and you get the bounty.

If you read, I stated that
Quote
Sure, the VERIFICATION of blocks and transactions is decentralized, CONFIRMS are not. Confirms are when blocks confirm each other in the hashchain.
Because only 1 address can actually get the coinbase (anything else is disallowed) that means that only 1 address can confirm blocks. When you confirm a block, you verify transactions inside. Edit:
Quote
block you verify
In this case, verify meaning that the validity of the transaction in the block is accurate. Not just the hash of the transaction.

Quote
Prove that only central node can confirm/authorize transactions and you get the bounty.
Hence from my previous statement, the central node (according to the blockchain; since the authenticity of anyone else mining on the address CANNOT be made,) is the only node that can confirm blocks and transactions.

As far as I am concerned, this coin is not minable, and you are renting your hashrate to a pool, which as far as I can tell, is not trustworthy.

This man is correct and owed 10 btc
1297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] ARCHcoin [ARCH] – The Profit Network on: September 10, 2014, 06:58:05 AM
why are you guys FUDing? if you don't like it, don't invest in it... stop crying for refunds because you did not read the op, thats lame.

i must say i've read EVERYTHING dev posted... and i like it. i'm buying. has potencial? yes. is there risc involved? yes. (welcome to cryptos!)
so why whine about everything like a bunch of kids?

The croudfund is not so bad... the more BTC raised, the less coin you get... but they worth more! so whats the issue for you guys, in here?
i really don't get it...

anyway... good night everyone

u don't get it. the more btc raised (for btcarchitect)
the less coins you get (less valued)

So each buy is more money into his pocket, less into yours.  Wink

I saw this > http://pastebin.com/Rpxey9v9

they ripped off via software gg
That pastebin is an embarrassing pile of egotistical children. Get over yourselves guys. I can point you to some bitcoin forums where people with actual money discuss things, there are far fewer drug references.

They sound shit.

Seems like the cartel is up for another scam.
The dev of this coin (BTCarchitect) is a high ranked member of the coinmarkets cartel.

pffff he's not even opped.
