^^^ That image is wrong, even on a globe it's wrong. On the globe the angle is calculated (not measured) from its center, not from the viewer. What that image depicts is apparent size as an angle, that is wrong, that is not angular size or diameter.

Are you measuring "angular size" or "apparent size"?

Consider the following:

1. The horizon is an object.
2. The vanishing point is a point on the horizon line.
3. The vanishing point is the result of convergence on a plane.
4. A sextant measures angles between two (2) objects.
5. Angular size requires two (2) separate measurements.
6. Angular size is measured from the vanishing point. i.e. horizon<object
7. Angular size never changes as it is a measure of physical distance.
8. One (1) minute of arc equals one (1) nautical mile.
9. The sides of an object are objects in their own right.
10. Apparent size only requires one (1) measurement.
11. Apparent size is measured from the viewer. i.e. eye<object
12. Apparent size changes with distance to the viewer.

So lets measure "angular size" and measure the Moon; its angular size is 32'. Is it the same physical size as the Sun?

If your answer is that I claim the Sun & Moon are projected holograms and not physical objects then it's time to find some rope for yourself because, I am referring to the physical distance they occupy.

You have to be on plane, this is how it works. If you're on a globe (and it can only be a globe no matter what) then none of this works, angular size can't even be measured. Funny how all the straight shadows you show us are when the Sun is at a low angle, close to the horizon. Funny how all the shadows cast on the ground are at 90° to the Sun. You're making false claims with long distorted shadows cast at an angle. I've got documented, observable, testable, repeatable proof the Earth is measurably flat with the sextant, the Sun and the horizon. This empirical proof is corroborated by the straightforward photographs I've posted showing the Sun is a close, small object over a flat plane; the Sun rays are provably divergent.

Not only does the shadow from the hot-air balloon prove the Sun's rays are divergent and that it's a small, close object. It supports the angular size of 32' (a small object 32 miles in diameter) as measured by a sextant, and when the distance to the Sun is calculated with trigonometry its distance is ~3,000 miles (a close object). Angular size can only be measured on a plane, a sextant only works on a plane, this is proof the Earth is flat and that hot-air balloon photograph confirms it.

You guys keep confusing/conflating apparent size with angular size. Angular size corresponds a physical distance and apparent size is just how big an object looks. Either understand and acknowledge difference or you need to consider suicide.

The following illistration is not to scale and the drawn angle is distorted by perspective but it's simplicity helps demonstrate the concept of angular size. It doesn't matter where a telephone pole is located within the field of view so long as it hasn't passed the vanishing point its angle will remain the same size. If the height of a pole is changed its angle will also change to mach the new height. This is how distance is measured and it's how a mile is defined by an angle of one minute.



Angular size is something that can't be measured on a globe, the horizon on a globe while standing by the ocean is a curved line formed by a convex dome of water three miles away. Ships on a globe sail up, over and disappear behind the curve of the dome as they sail down below the water blocking the view. There is no vanishing point to measure angular size with, everything is hidden by curvature before that can happen. If you believe this then kill yourself.

The angle measured between two sides of the Sun and the horizon vanishing point reveals the diameter of the Sun in miles. The sextant measures angles on plane and the Sun is measured at 32'; the application and direct measument is irrifutible proof beyond a reasonable doubt the Earth is flat.
