1281  Economy / Securities / Re: SEC Charges Bitcoin Savings and Trust (BTCST) as Ponzi Scheme on: July 23, 2013, 05:59:58 PM

This may come as a surprise to you but US law is irrelevant outside the US and these exchanges are not US based.

Look at Liberty Reserve for how well that argument worked out for them.

When will six minute post time be gone?
It is very anoyying!

What?

You post once every few days. How can the 6 minute limit be annoying?

There's a difference between kidding yourself and not knowing something. Once you are told, you have the opportunity to learn. I'm happy to say I learned something today. Thanks, greyhawk.

In that case, here's another thing to learn:

Hope your secret underground base is secret and stuff.
1286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Miner's Official Coin LAUNCH - NUGGETS (NUGs) on: July 23, 2013, 03:30:14 PM
This thread was better when OPs gimmick had some consistency to the crazy. Please get someone to proofread your scripts. The plotholes are becoming huge.
1287  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Can someone please explain what causes orphans like I'm five? on: July 23, 2013, 09:44:27 AM
When Mommy and Daddy get shot in a poorly lit alleyway by a mugger in the rain after visiting the opera, the result is an orphan. The orphan later falls down a bat-infested well and breaks his neck. The end.

Wait, that's not true. In the story I have herd the orphan survives the fall and from there on wears a ridiculous costume and brings his revenge to the muggers.

That sounds ridiculous. Like something straight from out of a comic book.

Every single online wallet but blockchain.info got "compromised". Not the best track record.

1291  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Funny] Today's Dilbert on: July 23, 2013, 08:28:32 AM
Yeah, do they even have Bitcoins in Somalia?

Has that ever stopped them trying to acquire a currency if they don't have it?

Damn Digital Somali Pirates.  Angry
1292  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to apply pressure to Mt. Gox to pay up. on: July 23, 2013, 08:26:03 AM
How about flying over and running naked through their office wearing only an ammunition belt, a plethora of guns taped to several limbs, an RPG slung across the back and a raging hardon? That should work.
1293  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Funny] Today's Dilbert on: July 23, 2013, 08:23:53 AM

Offer something better. I'm thinking Filet Mignon here.

You'll want to check for Carbon Monoxide not Carbon Dioxide.

Also this exists already.

His rig did not catch fire.

That's the "official" version, yes.
1299  Economy / Securities / Re: S.MG - The Ministry of Games. on: July 22, 2013, 06:40:49 PM
But it is also fair to say that I am as far above someone like greyhawk as tsp and ff are from me.

Don't kid yourself.  Wink Just because I left the gaming industry some 15 years ago for better paying and more relaxing pastures doesn't mean I don't know anything about it anymore. The more things change, the more they stay the same, especially in this industry.
1300  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Has anyone had a fire in his rigs? on: July 22, 2013, 06:21:29 PM
I had a 6990 shoot out flames. It was about 3 inches high. Crazy.
Woot!
Do you think your house would catch on fire if you wherent near it?

There was a guy last year whose rig burned down his house.

Bitcoiners promptly started a charity drive which resulted in a glorious 2 $.

Wow link?

I was slightly wrong, it's 1.2 BTC by now.
