12862  Other / Meta / Re: Local rules enforcement policy. on: December 15, 2020, 11:56:41 AM
in the unofficial rules book there were no such exclusion for a board so how a user suppose to know that Meta is excluded.
Experience Wink
For what it's worth: I haven't had much result with local rules either. Self-moderation works much better.
I've also noticed posts in Meta are much less likely to be removed by Mods than posts on most other boards.
12863  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: List of all Bitcoin addresses ever used (OP rewritten, updates work again) on: December 15, 2020, 11:28:03 AM
It took a while, and the new VPS got a lot slower by now, but I've enabled updates again:
Updates
Sorting a list that doesn't fit in the server's RAM is slow. Therefore I only update both large files (addresses_sorted.txt.gz and  addresses_in_order_of_first_appearance.txt.gz) twice a month (on the 6th and 21st, updates take more than a day). Check the file date here to see how old it is. If an update fails, please post here.
In between updates, I create daily updates: alladdresses.loyce.club/daily_updates/. These txt-files contain unique addresses (for that day) in order of appearance.
I won't keep older snapshots.
Downloads are fast, I've seen 20-100 MB/s. Enjoy Smiley

My latest count: 764,534,424 Bitcoin addresses have been used.
12864  Other / Meta / Re: [Newbie scrutiny instead of jail] Every new user's first post: loyce.club/patrol on: December 15, 2020, 10:33:51 AM
At least do something like this:
It's an improvement, but now the gray links can't be selected. And it still makes the posts messy.

Dammit! I can display href content in the tooltip but I can't find a way to display the tooltip with pointer-events disabled.
This is currently running on loyce.club/patrol/test.html. The tooltip kinda defeats the purpose if the URL is still visible on the bottom of my browser.

I won't change this (yet). A tooltip would be perfect, but I don't think anything less than that is worth messing up the posts this much when this spam is still very rare.
12865  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I quit smoking and buy Bitcoin every week on: December 15, 2020, 09:29:07 AM
This Sunday I will start investing 56€ in Bitcoin every  Sunday.
~
1. Week : Price: $19.176 => 0,002920 BTC
Where did you buy this? At this rate, you should have paid $56 instead of €56, unless you spent a lot on withdrawal fees. Exchanges usually charge anywhere from 0.0003 to 0.001 BTC to withdraw, which is far too much for small amounts. The alternative would be to keep your Bitcoin on an exchange and withdraw everything only once every few months.

Or:
Use a site that bases the withdrawal fees on the actual estimated transaction fee. This one for instance currently gives 0.00349492BTC for €56, almost 20% more than what you got. Long-term, that's going to be a large difference!
Buying on Sundays is perfect for fees: usually transaction fees are lowest on Sundays. And if you do weekly withdrawals to your own wallet, you should consider consolidating your small inputs when fees are low so you don't end up with many small inputs (and very high sending fees) in the future.

"I know it isn't considered wise to leave retaliatory feedback so I won't be leaving one but I think you deserve at least neutral feedback for coming up with this shit and wasting my time. "
That's how I handle similar cases too:

12867  Other / Meta / Re: Do we not nuke - Brand New PM spammers?? on: December 15, 2020, 06:34:53 AM
Its nuked.
If I can guess: so Nuked users only show up on modlog when they made any posts?

Any reason why a nuked users PM's don't automatically get erased in the same manner as their posts would?
I can think of several reasons:
  • Unlike posts, you can delete a PM by yourself
  • You may still want to keep the PM because you made a trade with the user
  • You've already reported the PM so you won't fall for any scam they're trying to pull
  • I don't think Admin wants to decide on personal messages.
12868  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: GreenAddress blacklisted my wallet, and now holds custodial control of it on: December 14, 2020, 09:51:13 PM
The wallet is (or at least: was) blacklisted, and customer support ignores all the people trying to claim the wallet (I know, thanks to all the people I've encouraged to try claim it).
Challenge accepted! Do I have your permission to try to claim the wallet?
12869  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: GreenAddress blacklisted my wallet, and now holds custodial control of it on: December 14, 2020, 07:54:21 PM
I never released my pin, just incase I needed to prove I was the original owner).
I've never used GreenAddress (because it doesn't give me full access), but would they know your pin? Isn't that something solely inside your own wallet, so it doesn't prove a thing?

h) greenaddress decided to blacklist my wallet because of my constant guessing. This meant even with the correct 2fa code, my funds would be inaccessible
This sounds like such a non-Bitcoin thing to do. It would be really nice if someone from them would join this topic.

Do you still have access to the funding address? A signed message from 1JCshu52NeJow77g6kwyxqc4JoRrKLiWCL might help prove ownership.
12870  Other / Meta / Re: [Newbie scrutiny instead of jail] Every new user's first post: loyce.club/patrol on: December 14, 2020, 07:17:23 PM
I don't know about tooltips (at least not without javascript) but you can add this to CSS to display the contents of the href tag. You'll probably want to add some CSS selector in front as this applies to the entire document.
Sample: https://loyce.club/patrol/test.html
This looks terrible, and I don't know enough about CSS to fix this.
12871  Other / Meta / Re: [Newbie scrutiny instead of jail] Every new user's first post: loyce.club/patrol on: December 14, 2020, 06:22:45 PM
For finding such hidden links, I usually hover the mouse cursor over the links and check them at bottom of my broswer without opening them.
I thought of that after my change too.

Quote
My suggestion is to replace the links with tooltips, so that the real link is shown in a text box when you hover the mouse cursor over the disabled link.
If anyone has the CSS for this, that would be really cool Smiley
12872  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam accusations against SupremosKaiosama (alt of Humbertin) on: December 14, 2020, 05:55:32 PM
LoyceV observed there was a discrepancy in the time zones.
The discrepancy was in the evidence, not the time zones.

so you tell me: Would it sit more comfortably with you if my trust feedback of Webtricks were NEUTRAL instead of negative in that I would not trust this person to do a trade with?
Yes.

Webtricks first action by their own admission was to retaliatory DT distrust me - i.e. shoot first then ask questions later.
Why do you even call it retaliation? If someone leaves me unwarranted negative feedback, I'll probably exclude them too. If someone shows bad judgement, excluding them is the correct way to use the Trust system.

I'll share what I've posted before: before giving someone negative feedback, ask yourself: does this make the forum a better place? I've seen far too many negative feedbacks that don't meet this simple requirement!

MyCryptoMixer - having some problems or scam ?
A similar case last month was caused by a technical problem.

I can provide Order ID and Letter of Guarantee
If you want me to verify the Letter of Guarantee, I can do that. But: since your transaction was confirmed just a few hours ago, I'd say give them a bit more time to respond:
This is a one man operation to keep the highest privacy possible.
12874  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: swiping private keys without risks on: December 14, 2020, 01:04:56 PM
I think Electrum will do that. Mycelium will not.
That's incorrect. It's been years since I've used it, but in Mycelium you can scan a private key (QR-code), then scan an address (also QR) where to send it to. Funds doesn't have to be stored on Mycelium in between.
12875  Other / Meta / Re: Proof of authentication bug? on: December 14, 2020, 12:10:18 PM
This is "normal" when posts get deleted and the page numbering still needs a recount. However, what's not normal is that I've seen a few topics in Meta about this just recently. I guess it's caused by the recent spam run with thousands of posts being deleted per month.

All we can do is report as many of them as possible. Every post that doesn't get deleted is profit for the scammer.
12876  Other / Meta / Re: [Newbie scrutiny instead of jail] Every new user's first post: loyce.club/patrol on: December 14, 2020, 11:27:16 AM
I was considering a situation where hyperlink was used and it appeared as the personalized text not the original link, wasn't sure how exactly it would appear.
Good point, those require looking at the page source, or my archive.

Quote
Well newbies can't post images, so na harm there I guess.
It could still be a link to malware (say a directory called image.jpg so the browser opens image.jpg/index.html) but I haven't seen them yet. If someone clicks an image link and gets malware, I expect them to be smart enough not to download it.

Quote
By quotes, do you man quoted replies of others?
Yes. Apparently those use a different tag. That's fine, it links to the forum anyway.
12877  Economy / Reputation / Re: DT1 and DT2 members who have negative feedback (or are banned) on: December 14, 2020, 10:58:50 AM
Your lack of experience on this forum is showing again.
Lol. If you want me to respond to this, please create a topic in which it's not off-topic.
12878  Other / Meta / Re: [Newbie scrutiny instead of jail] Every new user's first post: loyce.club/patrol on: December 14, 2020, 10:48:20 AM
LoyceV, I like this idea very much. Can we have a timestamp (posting time) for each post as well?
I don't keep the exact time of each post, only the time I scrape it. This is usually a few seconds later. I've added it (Amsterdam time).

Suggestion: Make links within posts un-clickable.
Done!
After some searching, I added the following code to loyce.club/patrol/theymos.css:
Code:
/* The following code came from https://css-tricks.com/how-to-disable-links/ (so not from theymos) to disable accidentally clicking on potential phisting links */
    .ul {
 pointer-events: none;
    }
I like this solution, the forum consistently uses <a class="ul" href=", so I can quite easily disable all links without editing the original HTML-code for each post.

Quote
If someone is interested in the links posted they could follow the post number hyperlink back to the forum and check it here. If it is a spam post which would likely already be deleted, they can always check it on archive (although, there's little reason to want to do so).
Or just manually copy/paste the link into a browser Smiley

Update: quotes and image links are still clickable.
12879  Other / Meta / Re: Do we not nuke - Brand New PM spammers?? on: December 14, 2020, 06:36:46 AM
Most likely, the user was banned on December 6. It's been 8 days, the modlog has been updated and the ban record has disappeared.
I don't think it was ever in modlog.
I checked my older modlog archives: it wasn't there.

Is it a temporary ban?
12880  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin block data available in CSV format on: December 13, 2020, 09:23:51 PM
How often do you update this file?
https://loyce.club/blockdata/blockdata.lastday.txt
Daily.

Quote
Can I use this in my website? I plan to make some charts with it. Everyone who enter the url would make one request. I dont have many visitors.. yet (I hope lol)
Knock yourself out Smiley I can't imagine much interesting graphs from only one day of data though.

The lastday.txt file is meant to add to the full file if you download an update once a day. But it wouldn't make sense to download more than once a day.
