What's the hold-up on the assets? Does anyone have any info, or is everyone in the dark?
He may be just working one problem at a time.

Get the refunds out, then do the asset lists...

I imagine, that if he is still getting claim info being submitted to, he's still working through that.

If he starts sending asset lists, they're going to be very incomplete, and with new claims still being filed, that'll change the lists, so putting that aside for now and just focusing on refunds until I'm caught up, and then sending out the initial lists with as much complete information as possible, is probably how I would handle it too.

As for the refunds tho... think those emails being sent out should be including the amount and the txid, for those who haven't received their transaction yet.

Doesn't doing that demand a lot of time and attention? I don't see how James would have any time whatsoever to do a normal paying job, enabling him to pay monthly expenses to maintain a household and feed the family if this is all he's doing. OTOH, he's paying job may be coming first, attending to the paying back task at hand when he feels up to it. It's either one scenario or the other.

For a while, I did see a flurry of Newbies posting b2b2b2b2b... images on the 21 Million Images thread, coupled with very short regular posts. The names elude me, but if I do rediscover them, I will surely let you know.

Pair Wordpress with a CDN, and it's even faster.

Interesting!

In addition, CDNs provide the content provider a degree of protection from DoS attacks by using their large distributed server infrastructure to absorb the attack traffic.

Cost? (compared to conventional hosting)

Almost 1,200 pigs were subjected to bio-medical experiments and blast-effects studies during Operation Plumbbob. On shot Priscilla (37 kT), 719 pigs were used in various experiments on Frenchman Flat. Some pigs were placed in elevated cages and provided with suits made of different materials, to test which materials provided best protection from the thermal pulse.

Did you mean to post this in one of the pirate threads?  Grin

Wordpress is an amazing piece of software highly customizable, but for the use case you said in the OP, I would think a custom script would be better, it be leaner, easier to maintain, and can be changed to fit your needs.

Given a specific scope, I'd have to agree. Wordpress is a broad brush. It also has overhead that may not be needed, though the impact of dead weight depends on traffic.

One great thing about using WP is that Google does an excellent job indexing sites that use it, whereas a custom site would have a many SEO aspects in place for the same results.

I'm adding both your names to the list in the OP of this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=118178.0

Thanks kindly for the inputs.

Did you want virtualized hosting or an actual server? I've got plenty of bandwidth and a server sitting here doing nothing right now.

Are we talking open and legit or a tor hidden service?

Hosting will have to be scalable, and hopefully at some point I would need a dedicated server to handle the site and traffic loads. The ultimate goal is to have users with smartphones interacting with the site.

The site will be 100% legit and Rated G.

I'll reiterate at this juncture that a lot of what I've penned to date about this project may seem like vaporware, and that I'm only making it up as I go. Rest assure that this is not the case. The only parts I've made up so far consist of only ah-ha moments, realizing that I can incorporate such and such. It's getting late, so I hope the gist of this paragraph comes across as I intended it to.

Thank you for your comments, firefop, and I have also added you to the list in the OP. Use your free gift wisely.

One big pro is the huge number of free extensions for it. However, it is unmoderated (for the most part) and not all apps will be of the highest caliber.

Chances are I'll utilize very few WP apps, making double sure the ones I do incorporate are capable with each other and are well supported. The last thing I want is to have the site bogged down due to any modules loading. Ideally, I desire that the users who stumble upon the site via whatever means, either act or leave quickly. Upon seeing any page, even the least intuitive user should know what to do.

Thanks again for the input, caffeinewriter.

I've just updated the OP of this thread. Feel free to ask any questions. I will answer all inquiries provided the needed responses don't jeopardize the project while its still in the paddock (not a hint).

As I've stated, I'm leaning toward Wordpress, but would still love to read any other pros or cons.

I was ready to pen that, but see no need to now. Later.

Hey Phinnaeus Gage,
I use to be part of a site that does something similar to what you want to do.
the site was www.weblo.com - did that site inspired you to do something like it?
Although your ideas does seem ALOT more profitable lol - i think weblo stop paying out or something - its been like 2 years since i stoped.

Anyway good luck on the project!

This is the first time I've heard about weblo.com. Goin' to check it out now.

Interesting site! Many takeaways, one of which is NOT all those ads. BTW, you earned one free premium account valued at $20 USD ($10 if BTC). I'm going to pen the list now of all those entitled to one free premium account and add it to the OP of this thread.

Thanks again, rexcoin.
