1301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Changed my mind: Litecoin is, indeed, DEAD. Sold my last 10,000 LTC. on: March 08, 2016, 06:29:46 PM
Just bookmarked this thread to come back to if litecoin ever moons again. If litecoin ever hits prices of $100+ people will say "remember that guy who sold 10,000 litecoins". This could be the future "pizza thread" of litecoin lol.
1302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Changed my mind: Litecoin is, indeed, DEAD. Sold my last 10,000 LTC. on: March 08, 2016, 06:24:28 PM
It was a nice ride, but I've lost all hope. What a boring crypto.

it saddens me but i have to agree with this.
i also find litecoin so boring with nothing to offer. there has been no change whatsoever and no forward movement.
litecoin is just staying where it was, a copy of bitcoin that not even developers care about.

what makes a crypto is not how advanced it is but how easy it is for the average person to use. If you can use bitcoin then you can use litecoin, i think litecoins simplicity is going to work in its favour in the long term. One only has to take a look at nxt to see this in action, nice shiny tech but no real world use.
1303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Was the first PoS coin Peercoin...? on: March 08, 2016, 06:21:30 PM
The first pos coin was peercoin. While its true that several others were studying proof of stake peercoin was the first coin to implement it. This was around august 2012 i believe.

1305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / BTC up eth down jump ship while you can on: March 08, 2016, 08:10:16 AM
Eth is down to $8 from $11 jump ship to bitcoin while you can. Pump is over dump has begun, anyone left in ether is asking to have their money burned.
1306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FoldingCoin - Mine for medicine, Scrypt and SHA256 ASIC proof on: March 07, 2016, 05:15:51 AM
Some things i think should be addressed in the next meeting:

- Distributions
- Whether or not merged folding will continue
- Long term roadmap
- Loyalty payout for long term folders
- Development of off chain distribution system where folders can cash out their coins anytime they want - would solve a lot of distribution issues
- Addition of daily FAH credits minded by all participants shown on foldingcoin homepage - this is something we had with the old site
- Progress update on all in one installer package
- Coin promotion - local presentations, ted talk etc.
- Introduction of bounty system to speed up development, people donate FLDC into a pot dedicated to a project and whoever develops the said project gets all the bounty
- Official introduction video that is short and simple that tells newcomers what foldingcoin is all about

1307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where is all the eth? on: March 06, 2016, 06:10:17 AM
72 million eth was premined and is in the hands of devs. Hmm i wonder what could go wrong here...?
1308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum - Stay out! on: March 05, 2016, 03:07:43 PM
Etherum to $0.50 within 1 month

Do you mean you still don't have any

no i dont buy into premine ipo scams
1309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum - Stay out! on: March 05, 2016, 03:02:30 PM
Etherum to $0.50 within 1 month
1310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $12.90 on: March 05, 2016, 02:59:07 PM
$12.90 makes Ethereum a billion dollar market cap.

When it hits 1 billion, normal medial will pick it up. I think no other concurrency than bitcoin has ever reached 1 billion cap. This would be a pretty huge deal imo.

IIRC LTC did for a short time when BTC was booming

That was a different time.  More idiots and noobs in the market at that time.  People are smarter now so we are seeing the rise of ethereum and the death of shitcoins

lol etherum has got to be the most overhyped shitcoin of all time, once the hype dies down then ethers true colours will emerge
1311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Changed my mind: Litecoin is, indeed, DEAD. Sold my last 10,000 LTC. on: March 05, 2016, 02:57:46 PM
It will be fun to revisit this thread if litecoin ever moons again. I remember people selling thousands of ltc saying it has no future right before it shot up to $48. Wonder what happened to those people.

Yeah that was years ago.

I remember last july when ltc rose from $1.45 to $8.50 - years ago you say?
1312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where can I dump my eth coins ? on: March 05, 2016, 05:46:38 AM
I don't know why people whine so much about these things.
ETH is being pumped like crazy for a long time now, just enjoy the ride if you can in order take the profit and be happy about it.

why are you looking for store where you can pay with ETH, there is no store to pay with bitcoin either! (so few for bitcoin)

There are over 100,000 merchants worldwide that accept bitcoin. I am yet to see 1 store that accepts ether.
1313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum v. Bitcoin - parity on: March 05, 2016, 05:43:06 AM
The attitude of some BTC-hardliners towards ETH is truly fascinating from a view on human behaviour and thinking in limited, already known boxes. The use of old-school uses like "premine", which simply do not fit and are of no worth in context with ETH and the technology as the potential behind it. It will be some kind irony that BTC-hardliners will miss to enter ETH as early adopters, although they should know better, but most of them are trapped in the crypto world of 2010-2013. They will fail to adopt to ETH like FIAT lovers did with BTC back in time.

I say BTC-hardliners, not big holders, as those are probably smart enough to diversify their risk by going into ETH.

ETH has now 10x the value it had at the beginning of the year and still we hear the same mantra: "It is a pump, it is worth nothing, won`t displace BTC." The Ethereum Foundation is funded with millions and has nearly 100 developers. Vitalik Buteryn has been speaking in front of the EU parliament, in front of R3 and other big companies from the finance sector. Slock.it, one of the ETH startups has partnerships like the one with the energy giant RWE. Other Ethereum startups could disrupt Uber, the other one a heavy part of the music industry.

But yes old-schoolers, keep telling us about premined coinz and pumpz bros.

BTC has a history and a use case ether does not. Can the average person use ether? At the end of the day ether is just another altcoin, sooner or later it will fall just like paycoin,auroracoin,nxt.... I would put ether's true value at $0.50 to $1.
1314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum reached $10! on: March 05, 2016, 05:34:47 AM
etherum is fueled by hype nothing more, only the older non-hype coins will survive
1315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could Bitcoin be replaced by an altcoin? on: March 05, 2016, 05:18:11 AM
None. No one can surpass mighty btc.
1316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Guys, is this why ETH is goin to the moon? on: March 05, 2016, 05:15:14 AM
I've been following ETH for a while now and every time i read here about ETH, especially lately, i read that buyers will get burned after the dump and will cry when the whales swim away etc. But check these links:

https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/azure-blockchain-update-5/
https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/marketplace/partners/consensys/blockapps-strato/

Could this be more the reason for the recent increase, instead of being pumped?

Love to read your thoughts on this guys.

p.s. It looks like some other coins also will be on Azure soon. Which one do you think should def. be there?

so ether is business coin?
1317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How fast is etherium blockchain getting bloated? on: March 05, 2016, 05:13:19 AM
im going to stay far away from ether, it looks to similar to auroracoin and paycoin. Besides its not something i believe in anyway.

Is there still going to be a monthly meeting this month or has it been canceled?
