13061  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Shyness in gambling on: August 20, 2018, 05:56:40 PM
For these kind of people there exist the online gambling and online gambling industry is far more powerful than offline casinos. Take sport betting casinos like bwin and bet365, they offer a perfect experience wherever you are and you don't need to go to the casino, the casino is in your hand. Same as for bitcoin casinos which are doing the same.

I would not feel comfortable going to offline casino and be limited in choice to what I play. There are only certain slots there compared to online casinos which there are a lot more choices.
13062  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Are people really making money from mining using laptop? on: August 20, 2018, 05:22:11 PM
No one is making any money mining with laptop. The reason is that laptops tend to overheat faster than desktops even in normal conditions use unless it is a very high end gaming laptop. Even if people make a few pennies by mining with their laptop, they will in a short amount of time destroy their laptop.

Mining on laptops is never recommended.
13063  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Don't forget to do this (Win10): on: August 20, 2018, 12:17:46 PM
Windows 10 is a bit tricky OS, especially in the update section. When you go to services.msc and stop and disable the windows update the next time you restart your PC, you will see those are back on, not immediately but it is a sure thing they will be. The best way to fix this is to make Windows update manual and manual can be done in this way.

Go to regedit and to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows then click New and then Key. Name the new key Windows Update . After that right click the newly created key and select new and then key. Name this AUOptions . AUOptions stand for Auto Update options .Double click this and make the DWORD value equal to 2. 2 means Notify me before installing Windows Updates. This is the best way to disable once and forever the Windows Update.
13064  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: August 20, 2018, 08:59:39 AM
Tonight is the last game of the Premier League for the week. Crystal Palace vs Liverpool, I think that seeing last head to head meetings of these teams the most probable bet to place here is the both teams to score goals. Liverpool has made some big transfers during summer which proved correct in the opening game but let's see today where the game is a bit more difficult than the opening one.
13065  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: August 19, 2018, 04:56:18 PM
Manchester United lost against Brighton right now. This is the first shocker of the Premier League as probably very few individuals were expecting for Brighton to win against Manchester United. This shows that Mourinho will have a difficult time this year too and I think it is time for him to quit coaching Manchester United, he brought nothing here except an Europa League.
13066  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Unprofitable - What next? on: August 19, 2018, 02:17:42 PM
The only future for mining is at scale. https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/bitcoin-mining_profitability.html  The trend of all mineable coins tell the real story here. Stop lining the pockets of these asic manufacturers. They understand this all too well.  I really think that this project could fall on its face. Yes some good things came from crypto but all in all I think we seen our ath.  ESP with it being a 2-3 year bear market this will be the end of most at home miners.  Unless your not paying the power bill. But someone has to right?   Your robbing peter to pay Paul at that point.  I’ve learned my lesson.  Try to take on the established system and you get a good hard slapping.  Right where it hurts the most. Your money. Or in another words your ability to live and eat is in jeopardy.  Yea they will say don’t invest more than you can afford to lose.  Damn we’re they right.  Cuz when it’s manipulatrd to the bth degree you are guaranteed to lose your ass.  Don’t be a rube to this system.  Mining is dead.  And if crypto really depended on decentralization like they all want you to believe then some if not all these coins should be worthless.  But as in this crazy world what’s right is wrong and what’s wrong is right so I expect nothing less here.  Just a great smoke screen to part people of their money.  It’s really a damn shame.

Not really. The mining is not yet dead. There are persons who believe in it. They mine even at a loss and they pay the electricity bill because they look into a greater picture which is the long term profitability of the cryptos. I believe that the market will recover soon and smart people will be the ones who never stopped mining no matter the problems you pose in your post.
13067  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Discussion Best COIN TO MINE w/ GPU Today ⭐⭐ FOR MINERS ⭐⭐ on: August 19, 2018, 01:27:51 PM
Mine Ethereum or low value coins like you are already doing with DBIX. Sometimes I change my rigs from Ethereum to CryptonightV7 but mining Monero there is a lot of fluctuations, sometimes the reward is higher than mining Ethereum in Nicehash, sometimes the reward is a pity.

You cannot do any other thing except these two with graphic cards. Let's hang on in there and wait for the rewards to go up again.
13068  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: biostar btc pro 12 cards on: August 19, 2018, 12:11:35 PM
The motherboard is not recognizing 9th card. I am using EthOS which is a Linux based platform. Any suggestions what to do?

No issues with the Risers because I switched cards and still seeing only 8 cards.
Thanks

Update the bios of this motherboard to the latest version. Once upgraded when it boots up it shows you if it is a problem of the riser slot or not. If all riser slots look green that means you have to look elsewhere but first try to isolate a riser error by doing so.
13069  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: August 19, 2018, 12:03:36 PM
Burnley had a lengthy night in Europa League where they played 120 minutes instead of 90 and probably they should be tired from that game on Thursday. On the other side they played at home and knowing that English teams play up to three times a week they should be probably used to it.

I think a 0-0 draw here.
13070  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Good time to buy GPUs? on: August 19, 2018, 11:29:03 AM
The prices are going down in international markets like Amazon and Ebay but I think we just need to a wait a little bit more. We need to wait the moment when a Rx 470/570 series to be 100 dollars each and we can then build a mining rig with 6 cards with only 800-900 dollars.

That is the time when it is worth to buy graphic cards, though the rewards from mining with graphic cards are going down slightly day by day.
13071  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: August 19, 2018, 10:52:06 AM
It has been some years now since in 2015 that Mclaren has not been in the podium. This shows the actual status of the car which is not a good one. Carlos maybe a good driver but when even Alonso couldn't do anything with a car of the Mclaren status in these years, I doubt he will do anything better if they don't upgrade the car.

For next year it will be difficult to see major upgrades but I think we should see medium upgrades otherwise they will still be fighting in 10 th place and below it.
13072  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Loss of bitcoins from h/w wallet - need help understanding on: August 18, 2018, 05:10:25 PM
I suspect two things:

If the user has really secured the hw as he should and keeping the seed only for himself in a safe place, probably on an old Linux laptop where no one has access except the user and is strongly password protected both in the BIOS both before login to OS.

If the user bought the Trezor used, no matter where he bought it from that must be the reason why his bitcoins are gone. Always buy from the manufacturer.

Before this case is solved we need to know the source where the Trezor comes from. If it is bought from the official website, then it is an inside job. If it is bought used somewhere, it is the work of the person/entity who sold it. No other possible explanation based on the data in this thread.
13073  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Motherboard/power supply issues. Rig wont power on on: August 18, 2018, 04:59:44 PM
In the photos I have attached here for you to look, there is the first photo of the motherboard, in the green circle you have to find two pins that reads PWR , use a phone torch to find them. In the second I have put a multimeter, you can turn on a motherboard with a multimeter if you don't have a power button to use. Also in green is where you should put your multimeter pointer. Just touch the two pins with the two cons of the multimeter and the motherboard will power up. Hope it works in case you haven't already fixed by now your problem

13074  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 18, 2018, 04:31:41 PM
Last time around Lazio beat Napoli 4-1 I think so this game will be a good game to watch and the odds are high on both teams for each team to win. I would bet on Lazio playing in front of their home fans but as you say Ancelotti as a manager wherever he has been , he has done something incredible so maybe a draw no bet for Lazio I think will be the best bet here.
13075  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 18, 2018, 01:32:57 PM
Today it starts with the team most people are expecting the most to see it. I am talking about Juventus because they have bought Cristiano Ronaldo and it will be his first appearance in the league. I think we will see a win of Juventus here and if Cristiano will play like he used to in Real Madrid, an over 2.5 goals will be the case.

However the Italian Serie A play a more rough football than in Spain so we will have to see.
13076  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: August 18, 2018, 12:03:43 PM
It is confirmed now, Carlos Sainz will replace Fernando Alonso for the 2019 year in Formula1. The problem is that if Mclaren doesn't provide a good balanced car with a lot of speed and downforce, it will be no difference, Mclaren will not win anything if they don't redesign their car thoroughly and start to discuss more with their engine provider, Renault.
13077  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2016/17 on: August 18, 2018, 11:38:41 AM
Today we have Celta Vigo against Espanyol and Villareal vs Sociedad both difficult games to predict. Seeing the games of yesterday where the teams played mostly defensively rather than playing openly it seems that they are interested more to get a point as a minimum than to fight for the three points and risk to get 0.

I will bet on both these games under 2.5 goals.
13078  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: At what price point people will stop mining? on: August 18, 2018, 11:09:01 AM
I am continuing because I hope history will repeat itself. Last year the price of a bitcoin in August was 3000 bitcoin and the mining rewards were really low but from end of September up to December the price of a bitcoin spiked up to the 20000 bitcoin point and everybody was happy.

I am only still mining hoping that history will repeat itself but this time from 6500 dollars which actually is a bitcoin , I hope it goes up to 45000 dollars for a bitcoin.
13079  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: it's too hot in the room! on: August 17, 2018, 08:47:16 PM
I have put the rigs of my colleagues in the server room so we don't suffer much from the heat but with your situation you can only hope that summers passes away soon , which it should and hope that autumn is a cool one.

Anyway if the temperature of Gpu-s are less than 70 most of the time it is a good thing. Remember prolonged working hours with not the right temperature will shorten a Gpu lifespan, theorically though as I have seen people with 71 degree temperature running since 2016 so practice shows otherwise.

You should not worry as long as temperature is below 70.
13080  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: August 17, 2018, 01:20:58 PM
Arsenal against Chelsea this week will be the game of the week. I think that Arsenal will have the upper hand here and will beat Chelsea this time. Chelsea was not convincing in the game against Huddersfield in the first week and Arsenal had to play against the Champions in the first week. In the worse case I think this game might end on draw so draw no bet for Arsenal is my favourite bet for this game.

I wouldn't back them away, but I didn't watch either Chelsea or Arsenal's first games so I can't comment on their performances.

There is no valid "away" here as both teams are from London, at maximum they will play a few km-s away from their home stadium so the feeling of away is void here. It is the atmosphere of a derby though which cannot be trusted to bet on a single team as a derby can have 3 results in, even when teams of big gap quality play together , not teams like Chelsea and Arsenal which have a similar quality.
