13101  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Terrorism... on: August 02, 2014, 01:01:53 PM
Man, I love Trotsky...

Terrorism is no good, but armed (and certainly even unarmed) resistance is fairly effective, evident by almost ever US and Russian adventure in the Middle East and Asia. We erroneously conflate resistance with terrorism when there is not always any kind of "terrorism" (a completely abused word -- one who causes terror? Jeez, my daughter frequently commits acts of terrorism!).

Someone shooting a US soldier or contractor is not likely a terrorist, probably just a resistance member (which we now call "enemy combatants," which is generally implied synonymous with "terrorist" without seeming so as text). Shooting civilians is an act of terrorism, and while there are terrorists among enemies of the US government, US contractors (at least) have also committed acts of terror. Somehow, though, we don't have a massive brain attack and suddenly call the US government a terrorist organization just because of that (well, a few people do). Perhaps a double standard. There are both terrorists and resistance fighters in every nation the US government is currently occupying, as well as inside the United States.

(sorry to post something which seems really obvious... not sure that's even a contribution)
I don't see any difficulty in defining terrorism.  None at all.

Things like suicide bombers walking into restraunts and blowing innocent people up.

Shocking images show corpses of illegal immigrants left to die after border crossings

Rancher shares grotesque photos with MailOnline, saying Obama bears the blame for a rising death toll among illegal immigrants

Volunteer patrol network in south Texas has found 259 bodies in one county alone, maybe 20 percent of the actual body count

Border Patrol source concedes the agency has no idea how many are perishing between the border and official government checkpoints

Filmmaker says he warned Congress in 2007 that children were becoming drug cartels' newest pawns on the border

This is a very serious issue, and the solution is not to build a "Berlin Wall" in the States, as has been done now.

It's really fascinating to see how average Americans are fun of weapons and like to play rule of sheriff like in the movie.
But, doesn't matter how much they are trying, it seems they can't stop this desperate people from Mexico to enter in USA in the search for better life.

I think the situation in Mexico needs to improve, the people wouldn't come then.  I mean, we put a production line all the way in China, why not in Mexico? It would save the State a lot of costs.

It DOES help to read the article people. The images I place are just baits to help you click on the links provided :-)

The closest U.S. Border Patrol station, at Falfurrias, Texas, is about 4-1/2 miles from Vickers' 1,000-acre ranch.
An official in the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency confirmed that in the month of June more than 4,000 illegal immigrants were apprehended at or near that checkpoint.
About 82 per cent of them were so-called 'OTM' border crossers – 'Other Than Mexican.'
More than 400 were children
.

NOW I'm confused, and I know that area.  That's no desert.  Semi Arid, perhaps, not no desert.

Why would they be dying around there?  IF they were people that had no clue how to live off the land, how to find water, etc., the very basics, then yeah, it'd be dangerous.  From Central America climate?

Because China's China and Mexico is Mexico.

Don't make fun of these guys carrying weapons.  We've been carrying weapons in those areas for hundreds of years for good reasons.  Very few people carry for "fun" because the things get heavy after a while...The johnny-soldier-wanna-bes are in the police forces, not in the ranchers lands.

Terrorism related to Arabs is just something recent, the media coverage on anything negative about the Arabs is way overly inflated maybe it is due 9/11 effect? ....
Started with the 1984 Olympics, and the aircraft hijackings started about the same time.

What did start on 1984? Terrorism? The media takes on the matter?
....
The modern wave of Muslim / Islamic terrorism.

Note an important distinction.  The experiment is a hoax.  This does not prove or disprove global warming, etc.  That these guys thought they could put over on the public a hoax like this does show a bit of what they think of you and me.

It is also interesting that it seems to take "deniers" to actually critically examine the "experiment", attempt to replicate it and find the fraud.  "Believers" seem to just take it all on faith.  This is an essential proof that Deniers are Believers best friends...

One does not take science on faith.

You're right, they think very little of the average persons intelligence/ability to reason and look for facts.  Unfortunately they are right about the majority of people who will blindly accept what they are told, whether through the nightly news, this youtube video (clearly global warming propaganda aimed at the 20-30 crowd who can relate to Bill Nye from watching him in their youth), or other media campaigns.  They have succeeded though in being able to push an agenda/message and really put very little effort into swaying public opinion on most topics.  Most people will watch this video and just take it as truth, no further investigation necessary.

Just to be clear I will repeat again:  This disprove of the "proof" of the video does not prove or disprove global warming, it just shows us some things about the people involved, their attitudes.

But it clearly shows the spirit of critical investigation which is in most "Deniers" mindsets.

Again repeating.  Deniers are your best friends, as far as finding the truth is involved.

I'm being philosophical here, but out of all the bitcoins in existence, I would say 15% or more are held by members of this forum.

Imagine this, Bitcoin 5-10 years down the road is worth $50,000 a piece.

If this happens, and members of this forum pledge 5-10% of their bitcoins for humanitarian efforts, we can change the world.

Just doing some numbers, 15% of 13 million is 1,950,000. This is how many bitcoins the members of this forum have.

5% of 1,950,000 is 97,500.

100,000 bitcoins at 50,000 is worth 5 billion dollars.

You can change the planet with $5 billion dollars. It's amazing.

With all the talk about Bitcoin stopping wars, etc. There is so much opportunity for humanity to thrive off of this wealth transfer.

If Bitcoin ever hits $50,000, I am pledging 5% or more to humanitarian efforts.

No.  It isn't that simple, sorry.

They are everywhere at the moment.
It's hard to tell who is a shill and who just believes they have a right to do whatever they want.
If you look at any Isreali media it's shocking the stuff they're saying.
It would be a challange to raise a child there that didn't believe one Israeli life was worth a thousand arab lives.

I'd just like to know what the pay rates are.  Both, all sides, etc.

Nobody added a single line to the Quran since VIII Century AD
Whatever you want to call them.  Commentaries, extensions, whatever.  You know what I'm talking about.

Here 'ya go!  From Wikipedia.

1) Kill them JOOOESS!

Sayyid Qutb was a staunch Anti-Semite.[56] In 1950 he published a book "Our Struggle against the Jews", which forms a central part of today's Islamist Antisemitism.[57]

2) Terrror!

The way to bring about this freedom was for a revolutionary vanguard.[63] to fight jahiliyyah with a twofold approach: preaching, and abolishing the organizations and authorities of the Jahili system by "physical power and Jihad."
The vanguard movement would grow with preaching and jihad until it formed a truly Islamic community, then spread throughout the Islamic homeland and finally throughout the entire world, attaining leadership of humanity. While those who had been "defeated by the attacks of the treacherous Orientalists!" might define jihad "narrowly" as defensive, Islamically correct Jihad (according to Qutb) was in fact offensive, not defensive.[64]

Qutb emphasized that this struggle would be anything but easy. True Islam would transform every aspect of society, eliminating everything non-Muslim.

Are we talking total complete Religious Nutcases?  Yes we are.  There's nothing like this in any Christian culture or religion.

terrorist loving liberals l don't give a shit about what the tea party is all about... cause we know that its the tea party that wants to slaughter anyone that doesn't agree with them, its the tea party that lobs bombs into other states, its the tea party that slaughters gays, its the tea party that subjugates women and mutilates their bodies, its the tea party that ...... oh wait.. no its not.... thats  hamas.... the terrorists that the liberals give a pass for atrocities, but accuse the tea party of but know that they are wrong.... . ... comparing the tea party to hamas is just beyond fucking sick.....

I pray that you never come across one of your beloved hamas terrorists, cause they will slaughter you without a second glance, but you've shown that you don't care that these people are mass murderers....

"Look at the Tea Party/Far Right movement - they basically do the same game - they stir up fear and hate and bigotry and whip the "faithful" into a frenzy."

I realize that with our National Movement we have both a few ill intentioned people. We have also caught and extracted a few others who were Collectivist Liberal 'plants' whose intention was to make our Movement look bad publically. As soon as they started they were caught and physically moved away from our genuine supporters.

My question to you, is do you have a valid, objective reference to ANY Tea Party Movement promoting actual: HATE, FEAR, or BIGOTRY you can post that validates your opinion stated in your OP?

It is true that nearly ALL of our Tea Party Supporters in our National Movement are VERY Passionate about saving our nation from government over reach in excess of the 18 prerogatives allowed the Federal government by our Constitution, and yes these millions of Individuals are VERY faithful to our shared beliefs and Personal Values, so it may very easily appear someone whipped us into a frenzy while in reality each of us did that for ourselves. Just think, over 90% of us vote every election.

They have stupid Americans now spouting Anti-American rhetoric, calling for impeachment - or even death - to our President because he is Black.

Yes, we do call for Impeachment, relative to specific cases where Obama over reached his authority as defined in our Constitution. "IF" we succeed in said Impeachment, we realize the Senate will be VERY unlikely to convict him, however, he will be forced to cease his repeated Over Reach and usurping the power from our House.
Gee, our Tea Party regularly has a black speaker come down.  Really smart guy.  And we supported a black running for a Congress seat.

The only racist anti-black stuff I've heard is from liberals trying to create it.

To be fair, I have heard anti-Obama "because he's Muslim" but then, he's sure looking sort of like a Muslim-liker these days...
13114  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Terrorism... on: August 01, 2014, 12:16:43 PM
Terrorism isn't an Arab exclusive, and Sayyd didn't invented it. You can read Trostky's articles praising terrorism as well, a communist so hardcore that communists killed him. And we are talking about retards from early/mid XX Century, being Sayyd one terrorist of decolonization.

Yeah, with terrorism you go with rage against a wall... the question is, war is all about strategy. What's the strategy behind it? What's there to wage with that? What achievement? The "I want to appear on TV", even if post mortem, wish?
Didn't Sayyd actually invent Muslim terrorism?  The first acts of modern terrorism came after he wrote his 30 some additions to the Koran.
13115  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do you think about the actual world conflicts? on: August 01, 2014, 02:02:51 AM

what do you think about the recent conflicts (russia, ukrain)
and espescially the middle east conflict??

RE middle east, simple question.

If there was no conflicts and all was well in the middle east, wouldn't the price of oil drop?

(I gotta feeling the fracking industry in the USA is going to make these sick puppies irrelevant...)
13116  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Terrorism... on: August 01, 2014, 02:01:18 AM
Usually when speaking of Arabs these days one word pops up right away: Terrorism.

Terrorism is probably the worse way of fighting ever. ...
You need to study Sayyd Qutb, teacher of Bin Laden and head of the Muslim Brotherhood until he was executed by Nassar for treason, to understand modern Arab minority sect violence.

Maybe some here from a Muslim background could weigh in on this.  But I know in the USA nobody has been informed about these issues.

I  have certainly noticed a sudden influx of pro-israeli and pro-arab sentiment here and set a large number of sock puppets on ignore the last two weeks.

Just curious.  They pay you to post?  Is it a decent amount?

...

In my experience there's no link between atheism and political ideology. I'm an atheist and verge on anarchism, I know some atheists which lean to conservative, some which have socialist views.
Look this is all too complicated.  It's like the guy in the bar who decides to put the make on a blind girl.  Finally he asked her if she's got a boyfriend.  She replied...

"Actually, I'm not seeing anyone."
13119  Other / Politics & Society / Re: S.E. Cupp: It’s a myth that conservatism is hostile to atheism on: July 31, 2014, 08:14:53 PM
True, except when it is pursued with religious fervor, has the trappings and characteristics of religion, and when the Non-Deity is piously worshipped.

Nobody worships the non-Deity. But when some idiots come up with a "praise our imaginary friend or die" mood, we have to defend ourselves.
The fact that we are atheists doesn't mean we can't defend ourselves because we've no imaginary friend to justify it!

I don't know about that.  It reminds me of the Organization of Procrastinators who decided to hold a protest.

...next week...

Republicans and Republican leaners view atheists and Muslims much more negatively than they view other religious groups.

True, except when it is pursued with religious fervor, has the trappings and characteristics of religion, and when the Non-Deity is piously worshipped.
