13121  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How long does it take for Trezor to support BTC2X on: February 08, 2018, 02:44:10 AM
Right. However get the priv. keys from the seed isn't easy at all.. with electrum I imported the seed and got balance but can't export priv. keys.
It's actually pretty easy.

You just need to restore a wallet with your Trezor/Ledger seed and check "BIP39 seed" in Electrum. It will generate your hardware wallet addresses. Then, just go to the Addresses tab, right click the address and select "Private-key".

In Electrum: "Standard Wallet" -> "I already have a seed" -> Write your seed -> "Options" -> "BIP39 seed" -> Next.
13122  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Swept bitcoin key from Armory to Electrum - why does it still show in Armory? on: February 08, 2018, 12:07:47 AM
Check both addresses in a block explorer[1].

If the address from your Electrum wallet received the coins and the old one from Armory is empty, then there is nothing to worry about. If you don't want to risk your coins, wait until the transaction gets confirmed and uninstall Armory from your computer.

13123  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: KYC thing on: February 07, 2018, 09:21:15 PM
Do you think the ICO is legit? It's only up to you to decide if the risk of uploading your ID and personal data is worth. I personally would not risk having my identity stolen just to join a random ICO.

Unfortunally, I expect that even more ICO's will start asking for KYC verification in the future.
13124  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can you attach messages into bitcoin transactions? on: February 07, 2018, 07:51:35 AM
IIRC, you can use OP_RETURN to store data in the blockchain.

Here are a few articles about it:

13125  Other / Meta / Re: How many time we can Give merit in one day? on: February 07, 2018, 05:23:23 AM
AFAIK there is no limit on the amount of merits you can give per day/month.

But there is a limit of 50 merits that you can give to a single user in a period of 1 month.

If you have more questions, you should read this post: Vital Facts and Figures about Merit Point System (Answers to your Queries)
13126  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Coinbase Segwit Update on: February 06, 2018, 09:17:03 PM
Finally! once they have updated to segwit, i'll move my 15 mBTC(without paying a lot on fees lol) that i had there for quite a while.
Coinbase will still charge way more than they should. Don't forge that they were sending transactions with +100 sat/byte while blocks were accepting 5 sat/byte transactions.

Do you know about GDAX? You can move your funds from Coinbase to GDAX for free and withdrawal from there. GDAX will pay all the fees (including the miner fee), so you will receive the 15mBTC without any charge.
13127  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is it safe to buy hardware wallets on ebay? on: February 06, 2018, 09:11:26 PM
I would suggest to buy on their official pages or on their main. Have you read up the news about those hacking incident happen into those people who do buy some ledger wallets on ebay or on other resellers worldwide? If not then you should read up towards it because buying on other people wont guarantee you that ledger or hardware wallet is safe because anytime they can do copy the seed and then sealed out again the box showing off that it is never been opened but actually seed or key is compromised already.
Copy which seed? You create the seed when you first setup the device. No hardware wallet will come with a pre-generated seed written in a paper.

The "news" was that the user who bought the Ledger restored a wallet with a seed pre-generated by the hacker. He could have ignored the fake "seed paper", generated his own wallet and nothing would have happened.

13129  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: [TUTORIAL] How to extract Bitcoin Gold from a 2fa Electrum Wallet [STEP BY STEP] on: February 06, 2018, 04:33:05 PM
i'm sorry if i up this thread, but it seems now clear to me that will never be a electrum wallet make for electrum gold, like electron cash for BCC. Is this correct? or they are still developing a btg version?
I don't think so. Bitcoin Gold has no community and it's not like their dev really want the coin to succeed. Soemone would need to care enough to make and support a fork (which I think is unlikely to happens)
13130  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Great times to buy :) on: February 06, 2018, 02:43:52 AM
I saw those posts on /r/bitcoin that exemplifies my thoughts on the recent Bitcoin crash.

Quote
There is not enough money pouring into bitcoin right now.

- New people (who don't really understand bitcoin) are getting burnt hard, so they'll say 'Ah, so it is a bubble' and they will sell.
- Hodlers already have their money BTC, so they can't drive the price up.
- Institutional players know a bear market when they see one, so they are not touching this thing with a 10 ft. pole until it shows some clear signs of recovery.

To drive the price up, there needs to be more demand than supply and quite frankly, it's not here right now. Even the most bullish people are turning bearish right now and are selling off. Not because they don't believe in bitcoin anymore, but they can get more bitcoin if they sell now and buy when they (think) it bottoms.

This is a bear market. You don't get 70% slow correction and not call it a bear market. The last (real) bear market took 3 years to recover. I don't think it will take that long this time around, but I'm finding a year really plausible.

Quote
Remember, it only took less than a month to get from $6k to $20k. So it's not surprising it can go down from $20k to $6k in a month and a half.

Why would that surprise anyone actually? It took longer to decline than it did to rise. So that's something.

I'll bet the next cycle to $20k will take a lot longer. Maybe a year or more.

If I had merit, you would of received it.  Couldn't of said it better myself.  Much like all social media outlet nowadays, they are so skewed and bias its hard to take anything serious.
I gave him one for you Cool

I believe McAfee would even have supported Bitconnect if he had been paid enough.

13131  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Unofficial] Exodus Wallet | Multi-Currency | Built-in Exchange on: February 05, 2018, 05:20:28 PM
@OmegaStarScream I suspect this user (ExodusWallet) is claiming to be someone from the Exodus team with a "new update" but it's actually spreading malwares through his fake website (exodus-sync dot com).

It looks pretty obvious, but you may want to talk to the Exodus dev team to confirm (and maybe put a warning), since you are always in contact with them.

Here is how his post looks like: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2886629.0
13132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Parity private keys on: February 05, 2018, 04:54:40 PM
Go to Parity, select "Restore" and write your seed in the "acocunt recovery phrase" field. Then, follow this guide[1] to export your Parity wallet into MyEtherWallet.

13133  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Creating New Coinbase Account Question? on: February 05, 2018, 07:16:47 AM
I don't think there will be any issue if they told you they would close your old account.

AFAIK you wouldn't even be able to verify your new account with the same name if your old one was still functional. Or maybe you should just stop using Coinbase and start using a different exchange (preferably that cares about Bitcoin and has Segwit, like Gemini or BitStamp) since Coinbase pretty much sucks.
13134  Economy / Services / Re: CSGO MM RANK BOOSTING FAST,SAFE,CHEAP on: February 05, 2018, 05:29:10 AM

LOL. If you really want to derank, I recommend this website (https://derank.me/) that helps you find a lobby where everyone wants to derank. You can get AFK/troll until you get the rank you want (Silver 1) without needing to spoil someone's else game. It can get really funny with the right teammates Cheesy
13135  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ★ Bitcoin mixing services, ways and methods. ★ on: February 05, 2018, 01:05:04 AM
Can you please add SmartMix.io to the list?
Announcement thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2815450
I can provide you with further info, but I think for an objective list it makes sense if you gather the information yourself.
Looks like OP is inactive since last year's February. So I don't think he can do that =P

That's the new list (which is maintained by an active user): 2018 List Bitcoin Mixers Bitcoin Tumblers Websites
(your mixer is already there)
13136  Other / Meta / Re: Forums extremely slow for anyone else? on: February 04, 2018, 11:30:53 PM
It's not just you.

Maybe another DDoS attack? This has been happening since early today and I can't browse the forum for more than 2 minutes before getting the same error.
13137  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: recover electrum wallet with password on: February 04, 2018, 07:44:33 PM
I'm sorry, but you can't.

what I DO NOT know: seed ( very long phrase which you must type when creating new wallet )
That's exactly what you need. Without the seed, there is nothing you can do.
13138  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum ZClassic Z!1.0.3 Help needed on: February 04, 2018, 07:32:03 PM
Thanks for the reply.  My circle is now green, but still not funds showing.  How do I know when/if it has synced?
If the circle is green, you should be seeing your funds and history of transactions. And I don't have any ZCL so I can't try to reproduce the error.

Just wait for a dev to check your issue. I'm sure they will help you!
13139  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum ZClassic Z!1.0.3 Help needed on: February 04, 2018, 06:59:32 PM
That's probably an issue with EletrumZCL's unique server.

I downloaded the wallet to try and most of the time it doesn't sync and the big circle at the bottom-right corner goes red. But after closing and opening the wallet a few times, the wallet starts to sync (stay green for a few seconds/minutes, goes red and sync again). Try to do that until you can spend your coins.

Maybe you should also create a new issue here: https://github.com/BTCP-community/electrum-zcl/issues

You should also link the thread about merit: Merit & new rank requirements

(since none of the aboves talk about this.)
